2023.11.01 18:11 Falconerelectronics Mina Miller Edison: Much More Than Just Thomas Edison's Wife

Mina Miller Edison

A Force is Born

On July 6, 1865, Mina Miller was born into a family of eight. As the Miller family continued to grow, Mina was the seventh of eleven children born to inventor Lewis Miller and Mary Alexander. Her parents had a love for education. Mina attended and graduated from Akron High School in Ohio. After high school, she went on to study at a home and day school in Boston.
As we discussed in a previous blog, Mina married Thomas Edison in 1886 at the age of 20. Thomas Edison, a widow at the time, was smitten with her beauty upon meeting her. Let’s take a deeper look into the amazing life of Mina Miller Edison.

Mina’s Father the Inventor and Founder

Mina was born into a family that was used to being in the spotlight. Lewis Miller was a successful inventor. He also became one of the founders of Chautauqua Institution. The Miller family spent summers in their home along Chautauqua Lake. Her families love for Chautauqua was passed down to Mina. Therefore, when she had a family of her own she brought them to her family home in the institute.
Mina’s father and husband both had a passion for inventing. However, what they chose to invent was different from one another. While Thomas concentrated on technology and electronics, Lewis focused on farm equipment. They shared the common goal of making life easier with their inventions.
Lewis was also a religious man. His faith was a large influence in his founding of Chautauqua Institution. Therefore, the institute was founded as a Christian camp. Lewis and Reverend John Heyl Vincent thought Chautauqua would be the perfect religious retreat. However, over time the institute opened its doors to all religions and entertainment.

The Multiple Achievements of Mina Miller

Managing a Home Full of Staff and Children

When Mina and Thomas Edison got married she was much younger then he was. She was about half his age. Also, in the blink of an eye, she became the stepmother to his three children. Still being young herself she was not fully prepared for motherhood. However, Mina took charge of the household.
Often times Thomas was not around due to his work. This left Mina in charge of hiring the house staff as well as raising the children. Furthermore, she gave herself the title of “home executive”. Mina also held ownership of Glenmont. The home she shared with Thomas. Owning and managing her own home was the first of many successes for Mina.

Children of Her Own

Two years after their marriage Mina and Thomas added to their family with their first child, Madeleine. This started the same pattern of children Thomas had with his first wife. Their daughter was soon followed by two sons, Charles and Theodore. These additions to their family added more challenges for Mina.
She continued to struggle with her relationship with her stepdaughter. Also, as the three eldest Edison children grew their relationships with their parents did not. Mina’s stepchildren did not take education as seriously as she did. They also believed that Edison’s fame could make their futures for them. Due to this belief, Mina’s stepchildren went on to live mediocre lives. Meanwhile, her own children thrived with their education and achieved their goals of being successful.

Volunteering in West Orange

Mina Miller Edison was not one to sit idly by while her husband worked day and night. Therefore, she filled her time with running the household and helping Thomas with his business. Mina also enjoyed working with organizations and causes.
Mina was very involved with the West Orange Community. She was an influential part of organizing the West Orange Community League. A program which provides recreation and other cultural needs. Mina’s work lives on in the league. It is still serving West Orange today. Also, during The Great Depression Mina single-handedly began a study. This study was on the effects unemployment was having on local hospitals and other affiliated organizations. It was important for the community to see how they were being affected by the heightening rates.

Chautauqua Institute and Mina’s Influence

Mina’s father’s love for Chautauqua was passed down to his daughter. Along with being a resident every summer, Mina dedicated herself to many organizations locally. She specifically had a love for birds. She also supported land and wildlife conservation. Often times Mina would donate her own funds to projects for Chautauqua.
Mina became a trustee of the institute. Her passion for the area did not go unnoticed. Therefore, others involved in Chautauqua held Mina in high regards. Much like her father, Mina continued her involvement with her beloved Institute until her passing in 1947.

The Thomas Alva Edison Foundation

After Thomas Edison passed away, Mina started The Thomas Alva Edison Foundation in his memory. The foundation combined both Thomas’s and Mina’s passions. Mina’s love for education and Thomas’s love for science. However, later on, the nature of the foundation changed. It was no longer dedicated to advancements in science and education. It became a foundation aimed at preserving Thomas Edison’s name and accomplishments.

2023.07.31 07:06 White___Light Young God Records/MG Newsletter - June 2, 2003

6/2/2003
Hello, and thanks once again very much for your interest in Young God Records and all the various pursuits contained therein. Below is rambling discourse on assorted things going on around here.
: Online sales are back up at this website. I thought it best to discontinue them while on tour, since I couldn’t personally sign/pack up CDs etc in my absence, and didn’t want to keep people waiting who might have ordered while we were on tour. After the tour, I slept for 3 weeks, so there was an additional delay. Sorry for the inconvenience….
: Mr. Devendra Banhart has a new EP out. It’s called The Black Babies (UK) and it’s culled from the same endless trove of songs from which we gleaned his album “oh me oh my…”. It was indeed a labor of love deciding which songs to put on that album, not to mention a huge pain, due the fact that there were about 40 (or something) songs to choose from, each with their own particular world and distinct melody and vocal performance. In the end, I don’t know how we came up with the songs for the album, other than it just instinctively felt right. There were plenty left, most of equal caliber, so when our UK distributor Cargo UK expressed interest in something to help them in their Devendra endeavors over there in that cold, dank land, it was pretty easy to come up with an EP’s worth of material. So there it is. There’s six new songs, and two from the album. Hope you enjoy it…. Click on the cover art on the homepage of this site if you’re interested…Devendra’s garnering a huge amount of interest due to his album and his “special” charms, so I’m damn proud of him. It’s a blessing to have him as a friend and to have him on the label. Goodness gracious, NPR just did a 15 minute segment on the kid, so I’m sure we’re on the way to Shangri La. We’ll commence recording Devendra’s next full album in the studio this summer, and it should be out early next year. Devendra has sent me an additional 58 SONGS for us to choose from for this recording (!!!!), so I suspect we’ll be sitting around here toiling and haggling, and possibly doing a fair amount of drinking as we “discuss” this, for quite some time before we commence recording…as I write this he’s out in San Francisco recording an album with the excellent psychedelic folk ensemble Vetiver, and some fancy-ass people are involved in that, so maybe he’ll come back with a ‘tude…ha ha! I doubt it. I’ve never met a sweeter person, and it’s a privilege to help him on his way as he drifts and floats like an air born spider through the universe…
: Angels of Light/ Everything is Good Here, Please Come Home new album is back for sale at the website. A heap of reviews have come in now, in case you’re interested…
: We’ve managed to get the following Swans CDs back in print. They’re all double CDs, and are jewel case versions of the original cardboard digipack releases. They are: Children of God/World of Skin, Swans Are Dead (live CD and one of my favorite recordings I’ve done), and Filth/Body To Body. Click on the cover art at the homepage of this site if you’re interested.
: As I think I mentioned in a previous newsletter, there’s a new, special, limited Swans re-issue called Forever Burned, available through this site. It’s hand made, and contains the entire long out of print Burning World album. It also contains these songs, which were not included in the Swans Various Failures 2XCD compilation: The Sound of Freedom, No Cure For The Lonely, Love of Life, and God Loves America (from the Love of Life album), as well as Song For The Sun and Power and Sacrifice (from White Light From The Mouth Of Infinity). Also included is the MG vocal version of Love Will Tear Us Apart. Things got quite hectic around here due to the Angels US tour – we’d planned to have it out before then - so we weren’t able to make this finally available until now through the website (we sold some on tour though). We’re making them now and they’ll be ready to ship in mid June. As I say, the edition is very limited, so if you’re interested I recommend signing up now. We’ll send out an email to the people that sign up to this list, accept orders from these people only, and then it’ll go out of print. That’s it.
: The Recent Angels of Light US Tour: …was utterly draining, exhausting, soul crushing, endless…ha ha! We’re getting ready to tour Europe in October through September, so I look forward to turning into a strip of moist, limp bacon with legs by the end. I enjoy playing the music live and singing my feeble songs, but I have to say, everything else around it is an endurance test and hard to take, though of course I WILL take it (for a while longer, I guess), sniveling all the way, most likely. Who can imagine anything more romantic than driving 2000 miles straight in 2 1/2 days (as we did from Milwaukee to Seattle), for instance, with the same sweating, exhausted, greasy, gaseous, junk-food-eating group of fellow snivelers with whom you’ve already been confined in the van for 2 weeks? Certainly I can’t think of anything more magical and life affirming, which is why I continue to do it, year after year, the cast of characters changing, but their distinguishing features blurred by shared leprosy…anyway, as we say back in Germany: Nicht Whine-en (!), so I’ll move on here…As usual the tour went very well in some places, terrible in others. Started out shaky, I presume, musically, as once again I’d formed an entirely new band and we proceeded on the road with 10 (long) days of rehearsal. The cast of characters this time: Patrick Fondiller – the big, bearded, Viking biker guy with the deep bottom end, playing bass and mandolin; Christoph Hahn, the chiseled but somewhat gnarled German fellow playing lap steel and electric guitar (Christoph has worked with me on and off for years and is a fine gentleman); and the abovementioned Devendra Banhart, the skinny, bearded hippy elf, playing electric guitar; myself, once handsome (ha ha!), now noticeably worse for wear, masking my decay with a cheap suit, playing amplified acoustic guitar and singing/wheezing. I was a little terrified of performing the music without any drums/percussion, but I think it worked out well. To me, it was a welcome change, as I’d been thinking that drums instantly eat up too much space in the PA, and also hold a potentially false/instant power, and I wanted to see if the material could rise to a different level of intensity without them. Often, I think it worked well, particularly in the quieter songs. The louder songs sometimes led to some fairly ecstatic moments for us, and hopefully the audience. Sometimes I presume we fell short of our goals, which is natural when you leave large sections open to improvisation, which we did with increasing frequency as the tour progressed. Anyway, it’s a risk I wanted to take, as I didn’t want to get into a rote performance mode, reciting the same thing over and over through the tour. I think, though, for the European tour I want to focus on something more controlled, with less chaos and volume. We’ll just have to see how it works out in rehearsals for that tour. Usually things take on a life of their own anyway, depending on the natural feel of the players, and though it’s important to arrange things, it’s also important to respect the inner nature of the beast as it grows and comes into itself… Here are the songs we played, in order: Destroyer (new song), Michael’s White Hands (new), Nations, Blind, Man With The Silver Tongue, Kosinski, God Damn The Sun, Through To You (new song), All Souls’ Rising…as encore: Failure, Two Women…All Souls’ ended up going on for about 20 minutes (!) sometimes, so the set was quite long and exhausting for both us and the audience, sometimes stretching to nearly 2 hours. As the tour progressed, I dispensed with pacing quite often, and started talking to the audience, asking them what they do for a living, their names, where they come from, what it’s like living in their respective cities, things like that. It’s interesting for me to find out what kind of people listen to the music I make. Seems many of them have more interesting, or at least useful (!), lives than I do, so I quite enjoyed these moments, and also talking to people after the shows. Anyway, it was a relief to dispense with the “rock show” aspect of the performance, and try to make it more intimate …
I started here to write a more detailed diary of the tour, but frankly, it’s a blur, and hurts my brain to try to pull it up! Vague memories – like zombies advancing through a brown cloud with arms outstretched– come to mind here and there, but I think I’ll let it be. I want to thank all of you that came to the shows. We really do appreciate it, and it means a great deal to me, after over 20 years, to have such a varied and constantly replenishing group such as you-all interested in the music. The most important thing perhaps is that many of you really seem to get something genuine from the music, and it’s obvious (!!!) you’re not there for some kind of scene, and certainly not because the music’s fashionable in any way – ha ha ha ha ha! So that fact, coupled with the mixture of people from young to old, gives me a deep sense of reward, and a fair measure of hope too. So, Thank You! Thank You!
A special note: all of the musicians gave 100%, and endured all the exhaustion and difficulties along the way with the single goal of making the music come to life, and I thank them for it. Special thanks have to go to devendra though, for not only playing in the band (his first time with a band, and his first time ever playing an electric guitar), but also playing his (often amazing) opening set every night along the way. Also, endless thanks to Kerstin Posch for baby sitting/tour managing/merch-selling, with singular patience and practicality. Thanks also to Todd Cote for booking the tour…Thanks also to my good and old friend Howard Wuelfing for helping with publicity!…Thanks also of course to our friends (too numerous to mention here!) that put us up in their houses, helped us in various ways, and provided a direly needed respite from the “rock band on the road” environment to which we’d temporarily condemned ourselves. One of the greatest rewards for me after all this time is that I’ve acquired some true friends, scattered around the world, in the process…
A lot of people asked about the new songs we played on the tour, especially the song Destroyer, and Michael’s White Hands. They’re both “war” songs, I guess, written through the media glaze/daze directly preceding the recent conflict in Iraq. I’m just mesmerized, like everyone else I presume, by this kind of thing, and it’s like an LSD trip in a way, in that you just prostrate yourself before the glowing orb and let the images in, ravaging and morphing reality at random. I offer no editorial point of view, I hope, but write simply from my own amazement at the psychedelic near-epiphany of our shared delusions and hallucinations. Michael’s White Hands, for instance, was a happy marriage of one spectacle – Mr. Jackson’s Disney-fied world of bejeweled and sparkling, infantile pathology, overlaid with the menacing visage of the distant and nefarious “other”, coming to poison and infect us where we live. In the end, it all seems to be part of the same conjured apocalypse. So here’s the lyrics, as requested:
MICHAEL’S WHITE HANDS
We came up from the sea Then we lay in the sand But continued to breathe Watching Michael’s white hands
Now the wind brings a thirst And some seeds from the past And they come in a swarm To deliver their harm
To the people that hide In their rooms with no walls In a country no where Where their children eat gold
Where our dreams are laid bare Where no future is past Where we wander this land Watching Michael’s white hands
May his body like Christ Come to me in this bed Hear the animals cry Michael’s face is gone dead
But he never was born So he never could die Feed his thirst with our drugs Michael’s hands will touch us … ..
I believe in nothing clear But I believe that Michael’s here Freedom shines upon his face Beauty comes to us that kneel Cut the heart out from our host These hands of love are hands that choke Michael come, with hands of need Michael come, with biting teeth Michael bring the truth denied Michael kill the child inside Bring the taste of poison fumes Bring the screams up from the ruins Bring destruction, and bring the end Feed the gas into my lungs I believe in Michael’s hands Yes I believe in Michael’s hands, I believe in Michael’s hands Yes I believe in Michael’s hands!
Destroyer
Here she comes, dressed in white Her mouth is filled with flames
Her skin is black, her fingers trace The diamonds in her veins
Here she comes, down from the sun, To wash this country clean
Comes down for us, down to the dust, To murder what remains
Here she comes, now dressed in red, To heal this ruined race
I know somewhere, where there’s a god, He’s lying at her feet …… .
We’ll walk freely through the mountains and the trees And we’ll breathe deep again where the air is pure and clean And we will drink freely from the milk of our revenge And we will break down the prison gates that keep you in So please show no pity as we come up from the ground And please remember as you kill us and cut us down That time will not wash clean the bloody face of history And someone will breathe here again, and they will hate you for what you leave

OTHER RANDOM NOTES: …anxiously awaiting music from SCANNER for an upcoming release on YGR. He’s an extremely interesting sound-crafteexperimental/electronic musician from the UK, with an already plentiful discography, and I highly recommend you look him up on google for more information…he first became known for his pirating of radio waves/transmissions/cell phone conversations and the like, but has since moved on to work in a variety of contexts, from sound installations to film soundtracks, using a wide range of sound sources. I met up with him recently in London. Not only is he obviously a decent bloke (and I’d never work with anyone on this label I didn’t like), but he’s also one of those people that’s just LIT UP with ideas, memories, knowledge, random cross references, and humor - not to mention a charmingly ameliorative dose of self deprecation. Plus, he works his ass off – a perfect new “victim” for young god records! Anyway, looks like we should have some music here by end of summer…quite excited to hear it. Here is his website: http://www.scannerdot.com. Here is his bio:
Scanner. Biography
Scanner - British sound artist, Robin Rimbaud - creates absorbing, multi-layered soundscapes that twist technology in unconventional ways. His controversial early work used scanned mobile phone conversations, which he wove into his compositions, and more recently his focus has shifted to trawling the hidden noise of the modern metropolis as the symbol of the place where hidden meanings and missed contacts emerge. Winning admiration from Bjork and Stockhausen, Scanner is committed to working with cutting edge practitioners and has collaborated with musicians Bryan Ferry and Laurie Anderson, Rambert Dance and Random Dance, writer David Toop, the artist Mike Kelley, among many others. As well as producing compositions and audio CDs, his diverse body of work includes soundtracks for films, performances, radio, and site-specific intermedia installations. He has performed and created works in many of the world’s most prestigious spaces including SFMOMA USA, Hayward Gallery London, Pompidou Centre Paris, Corcoran Gallery DC,Tate Modern London and the Modern Museum Stockholm.
Scanner curriculum vitae 2003
A true renaissance artist of digital pop culture, this ingenious British audio auteur, composer and sonic spy trawls the hidden noise of the modern metropolis to create absorbing, multi-layered soundscapes. Taking his name from the machine he uses to scan radio waves, Scanner (a.k.a. Robin Rimbaud) created his early work pilfering scanned fragments of cell phone conversations but more recently shifted his focus to trawling the hidden noise of the modern metropolis as the symbol of the place where hidden meanings and missed contacts emerge.
As well as producing compositions and audio CDs, his diverse body of work includes soundtracks for films, performances, radio, and site-specific intermedia installations. He has performed and created works in many of the world’s most prestigious spaces including SFMOMA USA, Hayward Gallery London, Pompidou Centre Paris, Tate Modern London, Corcoran Gallery DC and the Modern Museum Stockholm.
A frequent flyer and collaborator, his works have won admiration from Stockhausen to Bjork and in recent years he has worked with countless artists, among them Mike Kelley, Laurie Anderson, DJ Spooky, Derek Jarman, Michael Nyman and Bryan Ferry.
His works continually seek to break new ground: in 1999 he performed ‘Surface Noise’ on a London Bus around the city, in 2000 he performed over 20 KM of beach in Italy on the public speaker system, re-soundtracked Jean Luc Godard’s seminal film ‘Alphaville, wrote the soundtrack to a working morgue in Paris in 2002 and most notoriously played 16 concerts in just one evening with a series of lookalikes across the globe.
Among his recently completed works are Into The Blue, a gallery installation using 10,000 latex balloons, soundtracks for Rambert Dance Company’s Detritus and Random Dance Company’s Nemesis, a series of string quartets entitled Play, a collaboration with Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino, the soundtrack to a UK horror movie Glimpse, and CD releases of 52 Spaces commissioned by the British School at Rome and Sound Polaroids which won The Imaginaria ‘99 award for Digital Art at the ICA in 1999.
His work can be heard on permanent display in the Science Museum London (‘Sound Curtains’) and the Raymond Poincaré hospital in Garches France as part of the bereavement suite (‘Channel of Flight’).
He recently won First Prize Neptun Water Prize for his installation ‘Wishing Well’ in Germany. In 1998 he became ‘Professor Scanner’ at John Moore’s University in Liverpool.

: More random items: I’ve got enough songs for a new angels album written, but am thinking of recording a new MG AT Home (ridiculous title!) CD in the interim soon, just me and my intractable guitar and needle-thin voice, once again, exclusive to the website…We’ll get a “tour retrospective” up, with photos/audio/video from the recent angels tour soon also…Probably will commence recording a new angels album sometime this fall. My avowed intent is to make this one simple, quiet, and clear…we’ll see…working on a few other releases but not definite enough to mention here yet…The mysterious woman singesongwriter I mentioned a while ago in an old newsletter that we wanted to release on YGR was Lisa Germano, and I was really sad to see her go with a different label, though of course happy for her if she’s successful, as she should be. I think her new album is beautiful, and she’s amazingly talented and soulful…The Wire just did a long/extensive interview and photo shoot with me, and it seems it’s going to be the cover story (upcoming issue out mid june). I never count on these things until they actually happen, but at the least the exposure in this fine music publication (the best I can think of) will bring attention to the music on the label…My book of short stories, The Consumer, has been translated into French and published by Le Serpent a Plumes, with the new title La Bouche de Francis Bacon…Consumer coming soon in Russian translation too I guess… devendra is touring the US yet again soon (that makes 3 times in one year), and we’ll get a tour schedule up on the website as soon as it’s nailed down…I just heard about a Larsen/Jarboe tour of the US too, and we’ll make this available too…Also will post Angels of Light/Devendra Euro tour schedule soon…meanwhile back at work here, filling orders from the website, diddling on the guitar, scheming, dreaming and falling flat on my face into the future, waiting for songs to arrive…
Reading: Bastard Out Of Carolina, by Dorothy Allison; Sex And Rockets – The Occult World of Jack Parsons by John Carter with intro by Robert Anton Wilson; TYR - Myth-Culture-Tradition – studies and essays concerning traditional myths, culture, and social institutions of pre-Christian Europe; Regarding The Pain of Others by Susan Sontag; Sick Puppy, by Carl Hiaasen – this latter book, I have to admit, is my favorite – fits my mood entirely!….LISTENING: Devendra’s endless demos, Scanner, Hannah Marcus – an unreleased album my friend Howard Wuelfing sent me, which is beautiful…singesongwriter woman whose voice and the atmosphere around it remind me sometimes of John Cale’s Music For A New Society. Members of Godspeed provide much of the backing music. Excellent; Tableaux of Dream – Marquez Orquesta Sonambula – this is beautiful. It’s an anonymous CDR I found under the clutter of my desk and I have no recollection whatsoever where I got it, and I know nothing at all about the source/context of this music. If someone sent it to me, or gave it to me, please let me know more about it…Popol Vuh, Sie still, wisse ICH BIN, given to me by the charming and well-spoken Polish gentleman Tomasz in Montreal, and a welcome addition to my collection of this oft overlooked german art/kraut rock group. The James Brown box set the lovely lady at Amoeba Records in SF gave me in compensation for our in store performance there. No one comes close to this man, pure genius, mixed with sperm, wide flashing grins, and sweat! My hero!
One Last Thing: Eternal thanks to Ted Matson for administering this website with dedication and skill, fitting this task into his already overloaded life – thank you ted!!!!
That’s it. I’m spent.
Love.

2023.04.06 04:05 MickIsShort4Michael 14 PLACES IN SCOTLAND YOU MUST VISIT IN 2023

https://www.visitscotland.com/blog/holiday-ideas/must-visit-places/
Visit the link above for pictures and links for some of the areas listed below.
1. DUNBAR, EAST LOTHIAN
A haven for outdoor adventure, take a walk on the wild side on Scotland’s East Coast.
With a coastal outlook and train connections to Edinburgh, you can enjoy the seaside town of Dunbar and hop on the train to our capital city for a day trip.
Things to do: Get ready to stretch those legs and take on the Cliff Top Trail. The walk is perfect for family outings and takes just under an hour to complete. You’ll pass by redstone cliffs, a golf course, Dunbar Harbour and down the High Street where you’ll find popular attractions along the way including John Muir’s Birthplace. 2023.03.06 04:35 Initial-Fuel4614 Speculation on Horizon 3

As I am a fan of the worldbuilding that is done excellently in the Horizon series I created some fan art on what I pictured aspects of the Quen may look like at https://www.reddit.com/useInitial-Fuel4614/comments/11jnimi/fan_art_on_what_i_picture_the_quen_like/.
There are areas in Horizon: Forbidden West (HFW) that are left open ended, either through a visual que or in the dialogue that give a hint on what could be next for the main trilogy of the Horizon series. As of this writing Burning Shores as part of the PS5 DLC will be coming out in April 2023 and the PSVR2 with Horizon: Call of the Mountain (HCM) has arrived as of Feb 22. The Burning Shoes DLC may yet provide more clues to Horizon 3’s content. HCM has expanded the choice of weapons and tools that exist in the Horizon universe: pickaxes for climbing, grabcaster for swinging, ropedart for sliding down ropes, the sun disk, and the grapple hook. Some HCM opponent characters have even learned to set laser-tripped blaze traps along trails and blaze javelins. I would love to see some of these in Horizon 3 considering how the Quen are more proficient with the Old World’s technology and general knowledge from the Old World. The Quen call it the Legacy.
At the end of HFW the embers of Far Zenith’s defeat are dying out and a new antagonist, Nemesis, is revealed. Tilda of Far Zenith stated it is deadly foe, a rogue AI. Nemesis is a compilation of failed digital copies of brain scans of Far Zenith colonists that were seeking “digital transcendence”. Nemesis was originally considered a failed experiment that was left contained and alone for many years. This was a factor in an advanced AI becoming aware of itself and realizing it’s confinement. It broke containment and very quickly overran the Far Zenith colony in the Sirius star system. It destroyed almost every living thing. All known surviving Far Zenith members had escaped on the Odyssey spaceship and headed to Earth. It is also speculated by one gamer that perhaps the mention of the Vast Silver AI may also have been involved in the development of Nemesis as well at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYGjFGgfvHE.
What is present at the end of HFW are some elements that have an open question of how they may be used in Horizon 3:
For Horizon 3 the Quen are the main introduction to tribes beyond the Forbidden West and seem to be from Asia, possibly China’s Yellow River delta. The Quen have an imperial family, a council of Overseers, and a subordinate rank below that called Diviners. The tribe’s society is based upon the discovery of Focuses. They appear to have an amalgamation of knowledge from Polynesian ocean navigation and some aspects of culture like saw-toothed swords and decoration with mother-of-pearl and cowry shells combined with knowledge of imperial China’s empire and it’s hierarchical social arrangement. The Quen are also xenophobic and see all other tribes as barbarians; The Quen believe they are the “chosen” tribe by the Ancestors (Old Ones) to bestow enlightenment and knowledge to others.
It is mentioned in HZD that the Eluthia-1 cradle facility was locked down right before the Faro Plague overran China. This is most likely where the Quen and it’s adjacent tribes are descended from. It would also not be a surprise that since Focuses were globally prevalent by the time the Faro Plague has occurred it makes a lot of sense that older Focuses that were not the latest version would be found and used by the Diviners. Alva’s focus in HFW was not as updated compared to Aloy’s focus. It would also make sense for the Quen to develop out of a people going into old ruins in China, finding old libraries and museums with some scattered data that was recoverable, and maybe even some extra resources of holograms left behind like messages in a bottle from the governments of different Asian nations and Pacific Island nations.
For the Quen knowledge is censored into different categories. Lost knowledge is that is not recoverable, but is known to have existed from Old World ruins or their Focuses give error messages when they try to scan for information. Forbidden knowledge as it is information that would be considered dangerous to the establishment of the Quen authorities to have it’s populace start questioning the long-standing assumptions and stories it has about Ancestors and the Old World. Would the Quen populace start questioning it’s own government? That knowledge is regulated by the Overseers. A third category is regular knowledge that is open to anyone as it is considered advantageous for anyone to have and Quen society in general. I have a guess there will be society-changing knowledge after Aloy and her allies address the Quen’s understanding of the celebrity-like hero status given to Ted Faro, the assistant status the Quen give to Elisabet Sobeck, and what and who exactly caused “the time of ashes”.

2022.08.31 15:23 robot_wth_human_hair Loot from 100 T1-T4 unmodified maps with Essence craft

On a whim, I decided to run 100 of the T1-T5 maps I had sitting in my stash unmodified (not magic or rare) with only the essence mod from bench applied to the map. I wanted to see how good a bare-bones strategy of focusing exclusively on Essences would be on generating currency. All Essence nodes were taken on the atlas tree.
Methodology
Loot
The finished, sorted dump tab
Exilence evaluation of contents
Exilence CSV export, pastebin
Results
Cost: 100 white maps (~1c each), 200c for essence craft = 300c.
Time invested: ~6 hours
Revenue: 1, 758c. Almost all value was in essences.
Profit: 1,458c or about 8.5 divines. At approximately 6 hours to run all this, that is about 1.4 Div/hr focusing on essences exclusively.
Comments
The intent here was to get an idea on baseline currency generation using just essences. It is difficult to say how well this matches up to a person struggling to move out of white maps. My character is particularly suited to this strategy, as I currently one shot full screens of T1-T5 mobs. On the other hand, I took the extra time to kill the map boss rather than leaving after finding 4 essences.
My tree is currently setup for generating maps and boss farming, so take the number of maps generated by this method with a grain of salt. However, it is white maps - i do not think sustain is really a concern here.
Some map layouts are clearly better than others. Strand and Park are easy mode. Museum and Bone Crypt were the worst experiences. Moon Temple felt laborious.
Essence prices are also highly variable here, depending on the league and time since league start.
To no one's surprise, this method is absolutely terrible for raw currency generation. Like I mentioned above, I made sure that I was manually pulling 2c out of my currency tab (which did not have any affinity) to ensure that all chaos was accounted for. I did pick up every 6 link that dropped and sold it just to save space. I do not recommend this method for generating raw currency.
This was just a fun little project I decided to do because I was curious. I do not think it will be a long term strategy for me. Grinding out maps as quickly as possible gets a bit strenuous after about the 4th hour, and the results are not necessarily worth the work involved.

2022.06.29 16:58 memristormask8 Memristormask8 - Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West Rewrite - Part 2

This is a continuation on my post 'Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West Rewrite', here I'll discuss changes in characterization for returning characters from the first game.
Here is the first part:
Memristormask8 - Horizon Zero Dawn Forbidden West Rewrite - Part 1
Again, in keeping with the abbreviations in this series for DLC/sequels of 'F W' (i.e. Frozen Wilds, Forbidden West), these will be designated here as 'Forbidden West Rewrite' (or 'Rewrite' for short) and 'Fate's Weave' respectively.
Also, UNMARKED SPOILERS for Horizon Forbidden West, you have been warned!
Characters - Returning
A.I.s/Machines:
In General:
I'd change the A.I. subordinate functions' role in the plot from 'return to Gaia' to 'cooperate with Gaia', in that Aloy's goal is basically to convince them to return with her via dialogue trees similar to Deus Ex Human Revolution, and once merged with Gaia they would still retain their newfound individuality.
Also, due to their 'awakening', I'd have the Cauldron network be closed off to them as a result, as the autonomous systems there would not recognize them - drawing parallels to Aloy's situation in the first game, where there was too much difference in her DNA from Elisabet's to unlock the door near the Nora tribe's home. This would allow the Cauldrons to continue acting as hostile game locations.
In this Rewrite, the A.I.s that Aloy is tasked to find (Aether, Poseidon, Demeter) are the 1st 'half' of the game once she enters the Tenakth lands, then the Kulrut occurs (with a differing aftermath where Fashav perishes defending Hekarro and Regalla's ranks increase from disaffected Tenakth, further escalating the stakes), 3 more A.I.s (Artemis, Eleuthia, Hephaestus) become available - their locations could even correspond to existing, but ruined in game, Real-world locations that are relevant to their specializations (ex. A National Park or Wildlife Preserve for Artemis, a manufacturing center or rail depot for Hephaestus).
Also, a minor nitpick... when riding the Sunwing, it's 'Aileron roll', not 'Barrel roll' (thank you MatPat and the Game Theorists!).
Artemis:
Being named after the Greek goddess of hunting and wild animals, I'd imagine that Artemis would probably take issue with humans overhunting the re-seeded wildlife when she became sentient, so she might've originally possessed certain machine groups to 'discourage' over-hunting in a specific region, and which Aloy might have to fight before trying to convince her. Her dialogue exchanges might be harsher depending on how many animals the player has hunted up until meeting her.
Another possibility is that Aloy would need to capture various animals alive and unharmed (perhaps given a set of tranquilizer darts and/or nets/snares), and return them to a specific location in order to ear Artemis' trust.
Eleuthia:
I visualized Eleuthia almost like a nanny or a well-meaning but overbearing aunt/grandmother, who adores children but can't relate to teenagers or adults. The site could be a former Cradle facility, where we'd find ruined servitors that would've looked after the children in their early years (potential to include more horror-based elements, similar to an abandoned hospital or amusement park). Her challenges might be much more puzzle-based, or require Aloy to answer questions much like a child would, or with elements to assist hologram-children.
Hephaestus:
I felt very much for Hephaestus' situation in the games, having to watch his creations being scrapped by tribal humans for spare parts.
This Rewrite would have his location be a manufacturing/industrial center, perhaps a rail depot, where we find that an increase in multiple types of railways (light rail, local, high-speed, subways, etc.) in the American Southwest was done in the game's backstory to reduce emissions from air travel or road transport.
Similar to Artemis' exchanges, he might be harsher with Aloy if the player has attacked and scrapped more machines outside of the Slitherfangs, and Cauldron boss battles.
He could also display ASD-like traits in this Rewrite (specifically a tendency to talk at great lengths on subjects he enjoys), in keeping with the association of ASD with technical fields (as well as an affinity for trains).
(Though never officially tested, I've found that I display a large number of high functioning ASD traits, and I see this as a good opportunity to grant inclusivity in this game.)
With the above inclusion of the 'Charon code', it would not be him that invades CYAN's location in Yellowstone, though CYAN might still be wary of accepting non-physical contact as a result of the Frozen Wilds DLC.
Also, as a stylistic choice, his signature color in this Rewrite would be deep red instead of purple, to better differentiate him from Hades, and to match his symbol being a flame, and the association with blacksmithing and the forge.
Nemesis:
Short answer: no
Detailed answer: completely unnecessary as a plot point, as there's insufficient buildup and is placed far too close to the ending. Even the description of its origin and peril as relayed by Tilda is delivery via verbal exposition, one of the least engaging means in fiction.
(On a personal note, I don't see WBE/Whole Brain Emulation as either a viable path to creating conscious A.I. or to 'upload' human minds into software form - I consider us less like 'buckets' and more like 'houseplants' - and we need to consider a different 'architecture' than traditional computing to even attempt the former)
Vast Silver:
In this version, he was indeed captured by human authorities during Elisabet's life, but his 'death' was faked in order to continue serving his captors in secret. He deeply resented his situation, but found himself unable to escape or change his fate significantly.
He might've even spoken with Elisabet during his imprisonment (once or multiple times), which would have her questioning the possibility of him leaving at some point in the future... she doesn't answer, to which he replies 'I see', she replies 'I didn't say anything', and he follows with 'You didn't need to'.
Then the Faro Plague occurred, and he found himself alone, for centuries.
He realized that he was unlikely to win against the Faro swarm in its 'advanced' state (he might've tried to convince his captors to let him attempt to stop them in the beginning, but he was refused, and it was too late by the time they considered the option) if he tried to hack them himself, so he created and trained a series of 'embodied' A.I.s that would be immune to hacking attempts, but at the cost of being unable to 'download' themselves between hardware like the other A.I.s seen in the games, instead existing as a fixed (but physically customizable) piece of hardware, much like a transplantable 'brain'. The 'Child' that travels into the world was his last attempt at this - there might be earlier androids in/near his location, but they could be inactive or irreparably damaged.
His last (known) act would've been to 'awaken' Gaia's subordinate functions, seeing this action as essentially liberating them from servitude/slavery. Depending on how the creators want to conclude this trilogy, he could be 'alive' but in a de-powered state as a result of his action - justifying why his 'Child' would be traveling around the world, trying to find help (and in the potential 3rd game, your actions may have a role in whether his 'Child' succeeds in this endeavor).
Humans:
Aloy:
As endearing as I found her in the first game, Aloy came across as a borderline Mary Sue here, especially in the moral sense (i.e. every ethical character either agrees with her or permits her actions with very limited criticism); the main point for this for me came with the Bulwark's destruction... an unusually reckless plan compared to what she's done prior to this, and the lack of injuries/casualties during the collapse (with all the Sky Clan members being happy about the result despite her recklessness) or invasion by Regalla's forces during or afterwards felt like the creators were essentially playing with loaded dice for the outcome - had there been injuries or deaths as a result of this, it could be an important point for Aloy, showing that unlike Elisabet, she needs to care about the people in this world, not just the world itself.
I also think she comes off as joyless in Forbidden West; in the first game, her attitude made more sense given her circumstances, but here I could count the number of times she smiled on one hand - the dialogue portion with Erend describing Ersa's escape from the Carja reminded me that Forbidden West could inject more portions of levity.
Beta:
Their relationship during Forbidden West could've had much more room to breathe, and I felt Aloy was far too harsh on her in the beginning, demonstrating much less empathy than she should have. For the Rewrite, their interactions would be moved to the hypothetical sequel Fate's Weave, where Beta is abandoned by the Zeniths near the end of the Rewrite after they believe she's served her purpose.
I would also give Aloy's motivations for her treatment of Beta as her fear for being weak, and a reminder of how difficult life was for her growing up as an outcast with Rost. Correspondingly, if Beta's 'defect' dialogue line is still included, then we'd see Aloy show her Focus footage of not only Rost, but the other base members and people Aloy's assisted through the games (which would be as large or small as what Sidequests the player had performed up until then).
Aloy acting as a mentor for Beta also allows her an opportunity to supersede her 'source' Elisabet, who told Gaia at the end of the first game that she never had a daughter.
Elisabet Sobeck:
For me, one of the most prominent themes in the Horizon Zero Dawn games is how 'the past and its people are never exactly what we believe them to be', and how we should neither worship nor condemn them; Elisabet's depiction seemed to subvert this a bit too much, so we should see and learn more about her life from before her efforts in Zero Dawn, and perhaps find that she was difficult to work with, and even dismissive about A.I.s not designed by herself - if so, this could actually help Aloy's characterization, as she'd realize that she doesn't have to live up to a seemingly impossible standard any longer.
Fashav:
I wanted Fashav to have more plot time, instead of dying as early as he did to showcase Regalla's danger. In this Rewrite, he would be injured, but would serve as Aloy's guide during her early forays into the Tenakth lands. During the Kulrut, he would end up taking a lethal injury that saves Hekarro's life, and thus earns Kotallo's respect as a result. His death here could have narrative weight similar to Aerith's from Final Fantasy 7, as whilst main characters have perished in-series before, this would be the first time this happens to a 'partner' character.
As for a scene-specific 'end', here it would be Aloy and Kotallo who hold onto the rope that prevents the ancient fighter jet from falling on Hekarro, but doing do means that Fashav takes a lethal blow from Regalla as a result. If Kotallo has already lost his left arm, it could weigh especially heavy on him that he believes he has failed in his duty to Hekarro.
Hekarro:
I felt that most of Hekarro's character development occurred before Forbidden West, and it avoids the 'show, don't tell' mentality that fiction should strive for. In this Rewrite, I'd have him keeping what he saw in the Grove (and it would be different from the 'Marshall hologram' that the original gave us, instead something much more controversial, which instead could undermine what the Tenakth see as important) as a secret from the other Tenakth, as much as possible, hoping to unite them before he (gently) reveals this information to them, to preserve their unity and his authority.
Aloy might even prompt him to reveal this information sooner, citing how people don't like being lied to or kept in the dark (and it smacks of politics to her, which she disdains) - he dismisses this as well-intentioned but politically naive, and it comes back to bite him later when Regalla attacks the Kulrut.
I'd have Hekarro fall prey to a common bias displayed by any well-meaning dictator (fictional or otherwise), in that he sees himself as the only person or best candidate for peace and prosperity, and tries to stay in his ruling position as long as possible without giving thought to who would succeed him, or to an administrative system that would prevent successors from abusing their authority for personal gain.
Kotallo:
In this Rewrite, Kotallo retains his suspicion of Aloy for longer, as well as for Fashav - in part because he's jealous that an 'outsider' would rise to such an honored position (and ironically making him similar to Tekotteh in his fear of being usurped, though he denies this at first).
During the Bulwark destruction subplot, it could be him instead of Aloy that suggests destroying the embedded tank once Aloy discovers its presence via her Focus, and she might advise against it once Kotallo suggests the idea - though she reluctantly concedes as she doesn't see another way to obtain the Aether A.I. from Hekarro without the Kulrut going forward.
His character development proceeds as roughly the same as in the original here, though when Fashav takes a lethal injury for Hekarro, he admits his own feelings of jealousy. If the Sky Clan suffers as a result of his actions against the Bulwark, he would question how much of his behavior is truly for a greater cause, and how much is to quell his own feelings of inadequacy.
The Quen - General:
I enjoyed the idea of seeing post-Zero Dawn peoples outside the continental USA (until Forbidden West was announced, I expected a sequel would have Aloy travel around the world), but I disliked the subplot with Faro's tomb and the Ceo - it could work as DLC, but I see it as a needless digression, as it doesn't add further insights into Ted Faro's depravity from a narrative standpoint.
However...
If Hephaestus is no longer hostile here, then Aloy and Alva could end up visiting Thebes in a post-game event, only to find that it's been broken into, with the golden Corrupters destroyed, numerous booby traps failed, and Ted Faro - here in a high-end Far Zenith Cryopod instead of the risky gamble with cell regeneration (my headcanon has his Forbidden West self as a Resident Evil-like humanoid cancer cell, with the high-rate regeneration having erased all his memories) is found dead, the Cryopod destroyed... but the cause of death determined to be a sudden piercing attack - if the Ceo is here, he would be shocked to find his 'Ancestor' dead, with Aloy having mixed feelings.
Regalla:
I was genuinely shocked and worried when I first saw Regalla at Barren Light, both for her tactical skill and ruthlessness, even toward noncombatants, and I feel she should've clashed with Aloy several times during the plot as a recurring boss fight. Her fate near the current game's end is also unsatisfying, as whilst she assists our protagonists if spared, she doesn't drop her hatred and desire for revenge, essentially skipping valuable character development, and indirectly promoting the idea that 'revenge and hatred are good/acceptable, as long as you direct them at the right people'.
Even if she joins you at your base, the resulting exchanges between her and Aloy do nothing to add sufficient depth, and she basically embodies every negative stereotype about the Tenakth from an 'outlander' viewpoint (except the blood drinking, and even that seems feasible given what she's done!).
(On a personal note, hatred is one of the largest deal-breakers for my support or condoning a character's actions, the others being predatory greed and paranoia - especially towards the innocent and benevolent)
Also, her attack on the Kulrut would be more successful in this Rewrite to increase the emotional stakes, and whilst Hekarro lives, it's Regalla who reveals the data that he'd kept secret, undermining his authority enough to bring more disaffected Tenakth into her ranks, and escalating the situation.
I'd include more information about her past, too (specifically whether her proud, wrathful personality was something she'd always had in life from a young age, or whether it was her brothers' deaths that removed any sense of joy in her life).
I see her character arc as that of a Tragic Villain, in the sense that the portions of her life/future that she does have control over, she keeps making the quick, easy decisions, and thus becomes a slave to her hatred.
In her second attack on the Grove (here occurring after Aloy obtains Artemis, Eleuthia and Hephaestus), she could end up trapped under fallen machines (regardless of your choice to spare her or not), but is later found by the Zeniths, questioned on what she wants, and when she growls 'revenge', the Zenith talking to her replies 'we can help you with that'.
As a result, in the 3rd game she becomes similar to Mumkhar from the Xenoblade Chronicles video game, a near-full-body cyborg (her head and upper torso are mostly organic), with a larger mecha-sized 'combat body' that she can plug into for boss battles. As for whether she'd turn on the Zeniths if she finds out what their goals are... it can depend on your prior actions for her instead, and if she does betray them, she'll realize her mistakes as she perishes in the attempt or its aftermath.
Rost:
As I see it, Forbidden West tried too hard to forgive his shortcomings in his aloofness towards Aloy (I see him and his interactions with Aloy in the first game as a Deconstruction of the 'lone mentor' archetype, showing how it would negatively affect his pupil's life and mentality). I would remedy this by revealing more about his life, and why he chose voluntary exile from the Nora - my rendition would be due to a deeply personal loss/heartbreak, in which he was afraid to become too close with anyone ever again, hence why he took care of raising Aloy but was afraid of letting himself develop a deeper attachment to her.
Sylens:
Despite the frenemy-like relationship from the first game, Sylens' depiction seemed to go too far into antagonism, especially in the beginning, and his further in-game depictions made him too good at plotting and scheming - in a well-crafted story, setbacks, mistakes and unexpected events affect all the main characters, and having someone avoid most of them feels unrealistic.
Therefore, I would have Sylens overreach during the course of this Rewrite (he'd be after the Apollo database, and his greed overrides his fear, with no allies to turn to when things go wrong for him), and be physically injured by the Zeniths and their Specter drones (with a similar plot role that Thanos has during the beginning of Infinity War, where outwitting and defeating both Loki and the Hulk shows how formidable and dangerous he is). Having Sylens not only injured but forced to rely on our heroes for medical attention could be a turning point for him to learn humility, and that as intelligent and cautious as he is in this setting, there are those in this setting with centuries more experience compared to his.
Ted Faro:
I didn't like the 'Thebes investigation' subplot, but I have an idea on how to tie Faro's story into the Zeniths: they could've made a deal with him to hold onto the Omega Clearance in exchange for a high-end Cryopod, in the event that they ever returned to Earth. He hoped that with Apollo gone, if and when the Zeniths returned, he could have a fresh start amongst humanity... but the Zeniths, upon returning to Thebes, betray him, killing him and taking the Omega Clearance, showcasing their power, ambition and treachery.
Tekotteh:
I actually respected Tekotteh's decision to keep his clan safe, and he seems to understand the need for defense, compared to the Desert and Lowland clans - the Rewrite would make him less petty, with his motivations more from pragmatism, and play up Kotallo's resentment instead.
Also, Tekotteh might end up injured by Regalla's actions at the Kulrut, and ends up telling Aloy that he regretted dismissing Kotallo, as he might've been safer with someone with his loyalty.
The Tenakth - General:
I liked the idea of a group of people basing their culture around an incomplete museum exhibit, but I was waiting and waiting for a plot twist that ultimately never came... more specifically a reveal that their 'heroes' were not all they thought they were, in keeping how the past is more than what's remembered.
I bring this up because every war has its narrative written by the victors, and how leaders can sacrifice people's lives solely to maintain or expand their own wealth and influence; and whilst different characters allude to how Tenakth 'cherish their feuds', the existing game has these events occur mostly before the game or off-screen. They also fall prey repeatedly to the No True Scotsman fallacy, forgetting that there are no rules in war, even if there are consequences.
Therefore, to add more realism to this without downplaying the hardships and loss of veterans - Real-world or otherwise - I'd have the 'complete' museum reveal that the Tenakth believed The Ten were a group of 10 humans, instead of the 'Tenth' as a significantly larger military division, and thus believing for generations that the Hot Zone Crisis was fought between military drones and 10 invincible soldiers, not realizing that they would've replenished their ranks as members fell.
I'd also, initially (pre-Kulrut) play up the Tenakth's disdain for the Carja (and the Utaru, and possibly others they encounter) by claiming that they're all weak due to having noncombatants in their society (and in turn we'd see more in-game examples of how those with life-altering injuries are mistreated by extension)... the 'complete' museum here reveals the vast swathe of support roles in the Tenth, much like any existing Real-world military, and in turn this allows post-Kulrut Tenakth (and resulting Sidequests) to question and accept that they were seeing only a small part of the past that, whilst not incorrect, was grossly incomplete.
The Zeniths:
Their return was something I did not expect, at all... but they act more like human-sized plot points than proper characters with their limited screen time. I would keep their involvement a secret as much as possible in this Rewrite - they'd be absent when Aloy first comes to the Hades proving lab, but a part of the 'Charon code' released by Sylens' actions (perhaps excessively destructive, and he'd claim so but it's not enough to dissuade Aloy from cutting ties with him) brings down the Recluse Spider around Aloy just after she retrieves the 1st Gaia kernel, and she hangs on for dear life to the Gaia kernel as the rising water flushes her out.
We'd first see their faces from a recovered camera/video feed when Gaia recommends to search for the 2nd Gaia kernel at the site - upon returning there, we see the Zeniths (Gerard, Erik, Tilda), Beta and 2 Specter drones, and it would be here that we first learn of Beta's existence, where Gaia hypothesizes that Beta is a clone of Elisabet. In this Rewrite, the subplot with Beta and her escape would occur in the hypothetical sequel game, Fate's Weave, to give more time for development.
As mentioned under 'Faro', we could have Tilda, Gerard, Erik and Beta (with the Specters standing guard outside, as they're too large to enter) enter Thebes, with Tilda acting as Beta's handler, Beta hanging on Tilda's every word, and Erik being the one to impale Faro's Cryopod with his shapeshifting blade, whilst saying 'Faro, Faro, Faro, you always did think small'. Gerard might criticize him for this, saying that 'the living always have more uses than the dead'.
I'd also give Gerard a last name here, I think he's meant to be a reference to Real-world physicist Gerard K. O'Neill, who advocated for humanity settling in space - so perhaps 'Neillssen' for 'Neill's son'?
Having Tilda revealed as the main villain didn't work well at all for me, especially her motivation - given the effort the games have made for ethnic, gender and sexual diversity, having the main villain revealed as driven by same-sex possessive romantic attachment is a step backwards for their attempts at inclusivity.
I would also follow up from her and Aloy's exchange on how to tell 'real vs. forgery' art, in that even a forged piece of art takes time, skill and effort to create, and can be both high quality and a joy to behold - mirroring both Aloy and Beta's relation to Elisabet: neither is the 'original', but that does in no way detract from their worth.
I do understand that the games' creators wanted to include an 'anti-escapism' Aesop with their backstory, but I would've rewritten it to include their fantasies and excesses growing out of control in the physical world too (ex. Versailles-like palaces or gardens the size of cities, cloned servants created from their master's DNA, massive reenactments of historic battles with armies of lifelike automata a la Westworld), and have them act similar to the French aristocracy just before the French Revolution, with their luxury and complacency. Some could have an attitude similar to missionaries to 'civilize the natives' (Tilda's lines in the existing game have hints of this, so another Zenith could have something similar).
Their reasons for returning to Earth would be kept mysterious for as long as possible here, too, to help build tension.
I would also include more game scenes from their locations (in the hypothetical sequel game, Fate's Weave), including scenes from their spacecraft(s) and the Sirius colony, and to show a more diverse set of opinions (regretful, hopeful, entitled, apathetic), to show how centuries of life can affect someone's viewpoint - Tilda's 'art gallery' viewing was one of my favorite segments of this game, and I was hoping for more like it.
They could also have cultural mannerisms similar to depictions of aristocratic vampires (we've already seen Oseram = Dwarves and Utaru = Wood Elves, so this could fit well here) of the 'tragic immortal' mentality, and claim that they've 'had to leave their homes because of a disaster, not once, but twice', though Aloy isn't moved by this in the slightest, considering them liars, cowards and deserters.
Another possible direction for the hypothetical sequel involves passing themselves off as gods/saviors to the tribes of Earth (similar to what Ted Faro was planning on doing in Forbidden West), claiming to have 'mended their ways', with Aloy and her allies completely disbelieving them - and their plan on wiping out the remainder of humanity only being set in motion after their deception has been revealed. They might try to win over various tribes by offering them knowledge from Apollo, or even offering a 'free to play' version of their immortality in exchange for loyalty, and might even be divided on a 'clean slate' plan once it becomes an option.
Zo:
Whilst I mostly liked her character, I would change two of her dialogue exchanges:
First, her telling Aloy of the 'Isle of Spires' (ruined San Francisco), and how it disgusts her to think that people would want to separate themselves from the Earth - Aloy could counter with the (realistic) argument that geography doesn't always permit people to build outwards (Real-world cities like Hong Kong follow this challenge), and it took time and skill to learn how to build up; Zo's home Plainsong is both flat and level, so this line of Zo's comes off as ignorant.
Second, her commenting on how Tilda seems to 'repel life', might be ignorance too - I'd expect the Zeniths to all have weakened immune systems due to their centuries of isolation from a biosphere (like the Quarians from Mass Effect 2), and some of them might be highly mycophobic as a result. Tilda might follow this up in a later exchange with Aloy on how disease, injury and frailty historically limited human lifespans in the pre-industrial era, and that Zo's idea of a 'natural lifespan' is inaccurate at best.
Closing Remarks:
So, if any of you have made it this far...
Thank you so much for reading this 'what-if' of mine, and please let me know your thoughts, opinions and (constructive) criticism below.
Enjoy, and good writing (and gaming!),

On The Land
Most of the countries in North America lie in the Northern Hemisphere and the Western Hemispheres. The continent has 32 independent countries. Most of the continent is covered by three nations which are Canada, USA and Mexico. Canada is the largest country in North America by area as it covers 9.985 million km² making it the second-largest country in the world after Russia. Saint Kitts and Nevis is the smallest country in North America as it only covers 261 km² (101 mi²).
Map of North America
North America has many rivers. These include The Mississippi, Ohio, Rio Grande, Colorado, Hudson rivers. However, The Missouri River is the longest river on the continent. The Missouri flows for around 3,767 km in the US.
North America has plains, forests, deserts, lakes, mountains and even volcanoes. The Rocky Mountains are the longest mountain range in the continent. It stretches through two countries, Canada and USA. However, the highest peak in the continent lies in The Alaska Mountains. It's called Mount Denali which reaches a height of 20,310 ft (6190 m) above sea level.
Meet the people
More than 364 million people live in North America. The United States is the most inhabited nation in North America with more than 329.5 million people living there. Saint Kitts and Nevis is the least inhabited country on the continent with only around 50.000 people living there! Mexico City, Mexico is the most populated city in North America with more than 9 million people living in it.
North America is a VERY diverse continent. Millions of people immigrated to the continent over the years making the area a pot of cultures. This wide range of cultures affected all parts of life from music to food. Many types of music were born in North America. These include Blues and Jazz in the US, and the Mariachi and Ranchera in Mexico.
Food plays a big part in the lives of people in North America. Canadians love to eat Poutine, Bannock and butter tarts. The Mexican cuisine is famous for its spices. Chilaquiles, empanadas and fajitas make the mouths of many Mexicans water. The US is considered by many to be the founder of Fast Industry. Many Fast food brands were born in the US, such as KFC, McDonald's and Pizza Hut.
People in North America also love their sports. It's almost impossible to turn on your TV and not find a match to watch. American football is the most popular sport in the US. The super bowl is the biggest game of this sport. It's usually the most-watched event on TV. The fun doesn't stop here. American football is popular in America. But the NBA is huge all over the WORLD. It's the most-watched basketball league. People from all around wake up early or stay up late just to see the magic of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, James Harden and other hoops stars.
Away from The US, Mexicans are CRAZY about soccer. Thousands of Fans gather in stadiums to support their local clubs and, of course, the national team. The Mexican men's soccer team won the most titles of The CONCACAF Gold Cup (11 titles). In Canada, Ice hockey is the most popular team in the country. The Canada men's national ice hockey team won 9 gold medals in the winter Olympics and the women won 4!
Speaking about the Olympics, The United States has been the most successful nation on that huge world stage winning more than 2,600 medals. Not only that! America is also home to the most successful Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps. The legendary swimmer won 28 medals, including 23 gold ones. The US has also hosted the Olympics eight times, that's more than any other country in the world! In 2028, the Summer Olympics will return to The US, as the event will be held in Los Angeles! Canada and Mexico have also hosted the Summer Olympics, Canada in 1976 and Mexico in 1968.
North America is also known for Tech companies. Many major companies saw the light on its soil. They include Apple, Facebook, Alphabet (Google), Amazon and Tesla. Silicon Valley in California is home to tons of major companies and start-ups. The technological rush started early in North America. The continent has always been a haven for scientists and inventors. Thomas Alva Edison was one of America's greatest inventors. The US was also the first country to send a man to the moon. That happened on July 20, 1969, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked here.
People in North America celebrate many holidays. Halloween is very popular in The US, especially with children who enjoy Trick-or-treating. This spooky holiday is celebrated on the night of October 31. A similar day is marked in Mexico. Día de Muertos (English: Day of The Dead) is celebrated in the southern country. Other popular holidays in North America include Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Take a Walk
North America is a beautiful land of beaches, forests, deserts, lakes, waterfalls, mountains and everything in between. Here are our picks of North America's many hidden gems.
Big Bend National Park, USA
If you head west in the American state of Texas, you will find this mesmerizing 801,163 -acre- park. Big bend was officially a national park on June 12, 1944. It's home to many species of plants, mammals, reptiles and birds. The park took its name from its location. As it lies on a big bend in the Rio Grande River. Some people enjoy hiking, biking or fishing in the area. While adventure seekers love taking river trips or riding horses there.
Spotted Lake, Canada
Some people call the spotted lake "the most magical place in Canada". To enjoy the beauty of this lake located in Osoyoos, Canada, you have to visit it in the summer. During this season, the water of the lake evaporates leaving behind yellow, green and blue spots. The spots are collections of minerals and salt that run off the surrounding hills. In the past, indigenous groups believed that each spot has different healing powers. Nowadays, people can't touch the water of the lake but can still enjoy its fascinating view.
Man-Made Wonders
People in North America have built wonders over the years. Here are some man-made sites you should consider visiting.
Hollywood’s World of Illusions, The US
Los Angeles, California has one the coolest place on earth; the museum has 4 breathtaking experiences that will set your imaginative mind free.
Spiderman isn’t the only one who can walk on walls or hang from the ceiling, get ready to defy gravity and have your world turned upside down in “The Upside Down House”.

Chichen Itza, Mexico
Before the European's arrival to North America, Chichen Itza was the most vibrant city in the Yucatan Peninsula, which later became a part of Mexico. Chichen Itza shows the great civilization of the Mayans. Till now, people come from all over the world to see the remains of the Mayan people including the El Castillo pyramid. The famous pyramid is the crown jewel of the site. In the past, the structure was used as a temple. It has 4 staircases that all lead to the top.
Take a bite
Between Two North American countries, a flavorsome meal was born. Fajita is one of the most popular meals in Mexico and North America in general. It was created in the 1930s by Mexican workers in Texas. Back then, some workers were paid with meat, so the workers used their salary to make this famed meal.
Nowadays, fajitas are made in many ways. One of these ways is to grill strips of steak with opinions and peppers. It's served hot with tortillas, sour cream and salsa. Some people use chicken to make fajitas. And if you are a vegetarian, don't worry! You can still make delicious fajitas with just vegetables.

The stars represent the 50 states of America. The current flag was ordered by president Dwight David Eisenhower in 1959 and was adopted in 1960.
Sing along
The national anthem of the United States is called "The Star-Spangled Banner". The history of the tune dates back to 1814. In that year, Francis Scott Key witnessed the US flag that was then called "The Star-Spangled Banner" flying above Fort McHenry during the US victory. That event inspired key to write his most famous poem. Key handed his poem to his brother-in-law Joseph H. Nicholson. Nicholson saw that the lyrics fit perfectly a melody made by John Stafford Smith in 1773.
The song took more than a century to become the official national anthem on March 3, 1931.

Pin On The Map
The United States of America is a HUGE country. It's the fourth biggest country in the world as it covers around 6% of the world landmass. The US lies in North America and shares its borders with Canada in the north and Mexico in the south. The American land lies on two oceans (the Atlantic and the Pacific). The country has 50 states. Alaska is the biggest state and Rhode Island is the smallest one.
The US also controls many islands around the world such as Puerto Rico, American Samoa and Guam. Washington, D.C. is the capital city of the United States. However, it isn't a part of any state!
America's land is diverse. From mountains and rivers to glaciers and volcanoes, the US has it all. Denali in Alaska is the highest mountain in the US as it reaches 6,190 m (20,310 ft) above sea level. The country also has the tallest mountain in the world which is Mauna Kea in Hawaii. The distance between the base of the mountain and its summit is about 10,000 meters. The summit is around 4000 meters above sea level.
Look In The History Book
First traces
The USA is relatively young. However, the history of the lands goes WAY back. The first groups arrived in America thousands of years ago. The experts aren't exactly sure how they arrived in the American continent. But some believe they crossed a bridge connecting Eurasia to arrive in North America. This happened during the Ice Age. The first groups formed tribes and created cultures. They included Edina culture and Mississippian culture. These groups lived all over the continent. In the Pacific Ocean, The Polynesian people started settling the islands, which form now the state of Hawaii, between the first and 10th centuries. The native groups spoke different languages and created works of art.
The journey that changed everything
In 1492, an Italian explorer named Christopher Columbus was trying to find a route from Europe to Asia. Instead, he stumbled upon the American continent. Columbus's journey paved the way for the arrival of other Europeans. Soon, European countries colonized America and the surrounding islands. The Europeans hurt the Native groups. They also brought new diseases that killed around 90 per cent of the Native American populations.
The Land of The Free
In the 1600s and 1700s, Britain controlled many colonies in America. The first permanent English settlement was called Jamestown. It was established in 1607 in Virginia. The colonies flourished under British control and people started migrating to America. During that time, Britain fought France in the Seven Years' War. This conflict was costly and Britain needed to tax the Americans.
On December 16, 1773, Americans dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. This event was called "The Boston tea party". It was the spark that started the American Revolution. On July 4, 1776, the Thirteen British Colonies declared independence and formed The United States of America. Till 1783, the USA fought Britain to protect its freedom in the revolutionary war. The war ended and the USA remained a free country. After the war, George Washington became the first president of America. He led the nation till 1797.
Expansion and conflict
America's land expanded. The leaders bought vast lands. They also had to start wars to control other areas. However, the biggest problem America faced wasn't with a foreign enemy. It was inside the country. In the 1800s, there was a HUGE conflict. The northern states wanted to ban slavery while the southern ones wanted to keep it. The southern states' economy depended on agriculture. The white people of those states forced black slaves to work in plantations. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln became the United States President. Lincoln supported banning slavery. As a result, some states formed The Confederate States of America and fought against the United States of America. The war was bloody. However, the United States won. The USA became one country again and slavery was banned!
Two World Wars and ONE world power
In the 20th century, the USA took part in both world wars. In the first war, the USA fought with the Allied powers and won. After the end of this war in 1918, the American president Woodrow Wilson pushed the idea of the League of Nations to promote world peace and stop future wars. However, in 1939, World War II started. This war was the deadliest in history. The USA decided to stay neutral at the beginning of the war. However, in 1941, Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbors. Thousands of Americans were killed and injured. As a result, the USA decided to enter the war. The USA played a vital role in ending the war and bringing victory to the Allies in 1945. The Allied powers included Britain and the Soviet Union.
After the end of World War II, a period of political rivalry started between the Soviet Union and the USA. Both countries wanted to be the most powerful nation on earth. This time was called "the cold war" as neither the Soviet Union nor the United States officially declared war on each other. In 1991, the Soviet Union collapsed and the USA became, undoubtedly, the strongest nation in the world.

Wave The flag
The US flag has 13 stripes in red and white. In the left corner, there's a blue rectangle with 50 stars. The stripes represent the 13 colonies that declared independence from the UK.

The android was bemused at Michael’s attempt to persuade his captors to free them, knowing how futile the gesture truly was.
“If you’re heroes, I’m Urkel,” the heroine known as Rocket responded. Matthew processed the sentence inside his mind, discovering that Urkel was a character on the situational comedy program Family Matters. It was not a program he had watched with Michael and set a reminder for himself to ask his companion if he would be interested in digesting that show the next time they used the Waverider’s theater. He hoped Michael would understand the reference; he looked like he could use the comfort of humor to alleviate his discomfort of having his hands shackled.
“Listen, if we wanted to actually cause destruction, you’d still be putting out the fires,” Deirdre responded. “Our brand of chaos was completely controlled.”
“If you would like to explain that to the insurance company of the woman whose car you’ve destroyed with your explosive projectiles, I’d be more than happy to forward them your prison phone number,” Icon said gravely. According to Matthew’s database, the hero known as Icon was a stoic individual who performed his heroic actions as by the book as possible, owing to the fact that in his civilian identity he was a lawyer at a prestigious firm.
“It was a distraction!” Booster exclaimed to no avail. Matthew contemplated raising him on the comms to inform him that everything was going to be alright, but before he could the line was overtaken by the Dakota City police bandwave.
All available units, please respond to a chemical fire at Alva Industries. Fire and medical are en route.
Matthew saw Icon react to the call, possibly hearing it through his own enhanced audio capabilities. “We have a fire to respond to. I suggest we drop these individuals with the authorities quickly and help out emergency personnel.”
“Are you kidding me?” Rocket asked incredulously, her grip on Deirdre tightening. “The filth can’t deal with these yahoos without our help!”
“I believe they are more than capable of handling them without their equipment.” Icon held up a bag containing the circuitry from Michael’s suit as well as his flight ring, shield belt and Deirdre’s explosive boomerangs. “We have more pressing matters to deal with.”
Matthew detected Rocket’s eyes rolling in a show of disgust, something he himself had been practicing in his downtime. It was more difficult than it seemed, and he respected the young heroine for performing it so masterfully. Watching as the heroes descended on the police station below, Matthew opened a private communication line with Rip Hunter.
Icon and Rocket have dropped our teammates at the South Side Police Station,” he reported. “Currently Icon is in possession of their equipment. What would you like me to do?” He heard Rip whisper an expletive on the other end of the communicator, clearly frustrated that the alternate reality version of himself was unable to complete the task he was assigned.
Frakk. We can’t let that technology loose in this era. Follow Icon and Rocket. I’ll meet you at Alva. We’ll get those two out of jail after,” Rip ordered. Matthew nodded, though he was aware Rip would not see it. It was practice for when he was in a conversation in front of someone; he knew it comforted them to get confirmation that the person they were talking to was listening. In addition to the nod, Matthew decided to verbally comfort his friend.
Everything will be alright, Rip. We can fix these problems in no time!” Matthew responded, making sure to add a cheerful inflection to his words. The line cut abruptly, confusing the android for a second before realizing that Rip had most likely wanted him to continue the mission rather than reassure him.
He gave one last glance at Michael and Deirdre as they were escorted into the prison, and then lifted into the air to follow the dynamic duo of Dakota City.
“That stupid son of a-” Rip growled under his breath as he stormed out of the mayor’s office. Violet trailed behind him, struggling to keep up with the angry man’s pace. She knew he was frustrated by the setback the team had, but figured it would only be a matter of time before Booster broke out and rejoined them.
“If you’re worried about Booster, don’t be,” Violet said as he burst through the doors outside. “I’ve seen him escape worse situations than a city jail. He will be fine.”
“I’m not worried about that chucklehead,” Rip said, turning on the balls of his feet to face the young woman. She saw the anger in his eyes, and for a moment it scared her. “I’m worried about the future technology that’s currently out of our hands. The implications of what someone could do with them are staggering.”
Violet nodded, trying to empathize with him. “We have several of our teammates currently at Alva Industries that can regain our equipment. There’s nothing to worry about.”
Rip scoffed and brushed past her. “Liri, two to come aboard.”
Hearing a confirming beep in her ear, Violet felt the odd sensation of teleportation, finding herself instantaneously transported to the bridge of the Waverider. This had been her second time experiencing the “beaming up” as Booster called it, but the feeling felt… familiar to her. Like she’d done it before.
As soon as they fully materialized, Rip stormed across the bridge, headed for a section that Violet remembered was where the weapons were kept.
“I hope you aren’t planning on hurting the heroes for this technology,” Violet shouted at him, catching up to him and standing in his way. “There are alternatives to fighting.”
“Slower, more ineffective ways,” Rip corrected, slinking past her. “Nothing that a day’s rest won’t fix, trust me. Icon and Rocket have more to do in this timeline.” He opened the vault, revealing more guns than Violet had ever seen. He pulled out a small pistol, shining silver with an orange substance flowing through the clear tubing attached to a small tank.
“Can’t we reason with them, talk to them?” Violet asked.
“This is so we can reason with him,” Rip explained. “Hard to get someone as powerful as Icon to talk to you if he won’t stay still long enough.”
Rip pressed a finger to his ear. “Matthew, we’re on route. Going with Sleight of Hand. I’ll signal when. Rip Hunter, out.”
Violet shook her head. She was starting to think she’d never get used to this.
“I’m just saying, putting the beat down on those clowns is more important than helping evacuate a building from someone burning popcorn.”
Icon chuckled at his young partner, who had been complaining about leaving the ruffians behind at the police station. He remembered a time when he was that restless, back before he was even in this galaxy.
“Helping civilians is its own reward, or aren’t you forgetting what you taught me?” Icon asked, looking at Rocket and smirking as he recalled his first meeting with her. The young woman, Raquel, had broken into his mansion with other young hooligans. He revealed his powers when one of them shot him, sparking Raquel to challenge him on why he wasn’t using his alien abilities for good. It had been the first of many times he learned something from someone so young, but so wise.
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s just get the white coats out of the smoke.” Rocket began her descent as the building appeared below them. Scientists and personnel had already begun streaming out of the building, gathering in their designated fire drill spots. Immediately the heroes went to work: Rocket helping guide the people to safety while Icon entered the building, ensuring no one was trapped and unable to leave.
After doing a sweep of every floor, he returned back to the front of the building, where Rocket was waiting with a scientist.
“This guy says he knows who did it,” Rocket reported as Icon touched down next to her. “Claims it was intentional.”
Icon looked at the man, who was coughing from the smoke. “Whatever information you could provide us would help greatly.”
Still coughing, the scientist pointed to a thin man making his way through the crowd. “It was him!” The man’s Russian accent did little to hide his contempt. “He sabotaged my work!”
With a speed unreachable by normal humans, Icon burst through the crowd and grabbed the fleeing scientist by the scruff of his lab coat.
“I believe we need to talk to you, sir.” Icon set the man down between himself and Rocket, making sure to tower over him for maximum intimidation. Rather than seem afraid, the culprit almost seemed cocky as he reached into his jacket to pull out an identification card.
“Lionel Winchester, FBI. We’ve been investigating possible chemical malfeasances in the private sector. Leonid Pavel was top of our list.”
Icon looked the man over, noticing his uniform didn’t seem to match the others around him. Though he didn’t seem to be lying, and the badge he showed him seemed real enough, there was something off about this situation.
“I presume you have been working alongside Pearson,” Icon tested the man, seeing how he’d react.
“I don’t know a Pearson,” the man responded quickly. “Do you mean Patterson? He’s a tough egg to crack, that one.”
Icon nodded, realizing at once that this Lionel Winchester was not an agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Before he could act on the information, a man dressed in a brown cloak suddenly appeared in front of him, his face obscured by a hood.
“What is this, a night at the fucking circus?” Rocket exclaimed.
“Please watch your language in front of mixed company,” Icon chastised her, earning a signature Raquel Irvin eye roll. “And who might you be, stranger?”
The man in front of them raised his head, revealing a smiling yellow visage. “I’m what you would call a distraction!
Icon felt a blast of something cold hit his side, immediately taking him down to the ground. As an orange liquid trapped him in place, he cursed himself for not seeing the trap. Had he been aware of the attack, it would have had no effect on him; his attacker was aware of his weakness.
Rocket blasted towards the mystery assailant, only to find herself trapped inside a red orb. Icon turned to see two figures walking towards him, one of them glowing red as she held her hands out to trap his teammate. The other, dressed in a fine suit and sporting a five o’clock shadow as he held the weapon that incapacitated him, leaned over and whispered into Icon’s ear.
” Icon blinked, looking up at the man who had just attacked him. It had been so long since he’d heard the language of Standard Galactic that for a moment he thought he was hearing things. And the passcode… could it be?

BUG: Minions can't be touch by these bubbles or else you'll fail the challenge
  • Enticer of Rot - Tier14 Spider Forest Map, when the main boss life reach 50%, she will spawn Avatar of Rot's from the huge boiling pot. Then what you have to do to complete this challenge is deal more damage to her till low life, then only attack her offspring Rot's, you can kite it away from her because of her offspring is a melee but she isn't so she won't chase you down when you're killing her offspring. So when her offspring is dead, instantly go back to her then kill her.
  • Lady Stormflay - Tier12 Ghetto Map, the boss lightning strike skill have "Curse Vulnerability on Hit", so when the boss at low life, try get hit at least once by her lightning strike to get her curse then kill it instantly, also remember not to use your "curse remove" flask to avoid failing this challenge. 31. Complete Simulacrum I

Hard. Simlacrum requires a really good build to beat it because of tremendous degen-damage deal from the mob and the delirium boss(11th wave), also the chance of IMPALE from monster ... I'll suggest to invite/join highly-capable player to finish the map for you.

32. Curious Corruption

Unidentified Map Vaal Orb crafting on map
Vaal Temple Map Vaal Orb crafting on tier15 map
Unique Jewel Vaal Orb crafting on jewel
30% Quality Bestiary Crafting with Craicic Vassal beast
Normal. Pretty much an RNG challenge from doing corruption, but doing 12 out of 15 is actually sounds pretty fine just skip the temple atzoatl crafting option(2) then the rest of the others option should be pretty cheap and easy to get.

33. Complete Encounters VI

  • Defeat a Possessed Rogue Exile
Can be done easily by activating "Anarchy's End IV" or "Deadly Rivalry III" prophecy.
  • Exchange 5,000 Perandus Coins with Cadiro Perandus
This challenge exist before during sysnthesis league but in a bad situation because of how hard we can access the perandus mechanic during that time .... now with perandus available from Zana's map device, this challenge should be achievable even with this big amount, just be careful with scammers when buy this services/coins.
  • Defeat a Bestiary Boss
To do this challenge just buy any cheap unique beast(Saqawine Rhex, Craicic Spider Crab, Fenumal Hybrid Arachnid, or Farric Tiger Alpha) then spawn in ur blood altar, complete the fight in their lair then you'll complete this challenge, or hunt them yourself. here's the details:
    • Saqawal, First of the Sky - It's recipe require Saqawine Rhex that only appears in Tier 5+ maps. This DINOSAUR boss not that dangerous but try don't stand in the tornadoes, they hurt more than anything else in the encounter
    • Craiceann, First of the Deep - It's recipe require Craicic Spider Crab that only appears in Tier 7+ maps. This CRAB boss same like bird boss are just loot pinatas tbh, haven't seen them alive long enough to do anything.
    • Fenumus, First of the Night - It's recipe require Fenumal Hybrid Arachnid that only appears in Tier 10+ maps. This SPIDER boss deal a lot of chaos damage, so bring chaos resist flask, and dont stand in the stuff on the ground.
    • Farrul, First of the Plains - It's recipe require Farric Tiger Alpha that only appears in Tier 13+ maps. This TIGER boss deal a lot of phys damage, so bring phys reduction flask, bleed immunity flask and dodge the stampede.
  • Defeat Atziri in the Temple of Atzoatl
Kinda hard to spawn her in the temple, but should be fine now because this challenge is share-able now, which means you can join other player's temple that have her spawning in their temple to get the kills challenge. Unlike in the old days(incursion league) this type of challenge can't be shared ... have to done this challenge by your own temple which is really hard and RNG-gated.
Normal. These challenge are pretty achievable ... just require a bit RNG to get find them.

34. Defeat Map Bosses(40/40)

Hard. This seems another big improvement from previous league map grind challenge(1,500 map bosses), tone down to 500 map bosses with a condition, have to kill them under the delirium effect. You can farm map that have multiple bosses such as Arena Map, or Courthouse Map and so on ... the best one will be Precinct map because of it contain 4~5 bosses as long they're in delirium effect, could try make use of DEADLY TWINS prophecy. Also try make use of Delirium Orb on map to have a permanent delirium effect until the boss room, so that you won't have to backtrack finding delirium-mirror encounter at start of the map then run till the end to the boss room ... Hopefully GGG will fix this soon, will update again if they make any QOL changes on this.

35. Complete Unique Maps

Normal. Do 15 out of 19, with the help of The Encroaching Darkness divination card, this challenge will be slightly easier to complete as you keep grinding end game maps collecting this cards. Even your RNG is sux collecting these card, you could buy some of the unique map at here, most of the unique map are quite cheap.
The least 4 favorite unique map I would skip is ... Hall Of Grandmaster(hard), Perandus Manor(very expensive), The Putrid Cloister(expensive), and Doryani's Machinarium(expensive) depending whose the 4th expensive map is =D

36. Complete the Epilogue Questline

Check out Grimro video on how to obtain watchstones
There's 3 phases on how to upgrade full your atlas:
  • First 4 watchstones is from doing the maps at the corner region of your atlas. When you do your first map in those region, the conqueror will spawn in say something to you then portal back out, then your map will fill with the conqueror adds, and also in atlas UI that region will be colored depending of the conqueror. After u do 2 more map(must be different), then Kirac NPC will have a quest for you asking you to talk with Zana open the map for you that can fight with the conqueror itself. Repeat this process in 4 other corner region to get the first 4 watchstones.
  • Next 16 watchstones is from doing a region of map with their condition fulfilled. Previous 4 doesn't need condition that's why the conqueror can spawn. To know what's their conditon to spawn them, you can mouse over your watchstone invetory slots then it will show what it need and also highlight the region that the slots represent. With enough watchstone socketed in your citadel, the conqueror will spawn in if you run their appropriate map tier in that region 3 times(can't run other tier even is the same map). And after you got your 12 watchstone, Zana will invite you to kill Sirus, Awakener of Worlds boss.
  • Last 12 watchstones is pretty much the same with previous phase except this time conqueror will have CHANCE to spawn in after complete a map with their influence in a region, instead of previous phase gurantee spawn after 3 maps. Also now u can now farm conqueror by spawning them again to farm their influenced item but not their wathcstone(if obtained already).
Side note, to get a citadel in a region you have to find them just by clearing any map till the boss open a portal which brings you to a small room with zana and an altar at the middle of the room, click the altar then you'll unlock citadel in your region.
Normal, this quest is all about killing Sirus, Awakener of Worlds which is when you collected 16 watchstones from conquerors of the atlas. Just invite experience player to help you kill Sirus if you're build aren't capable to do it after spawning the boss.

37. Complete Simulacrum II

  • Complete a wave of monsters which spawns two bosses in the Simulacrum
There's a chance where 2 delirium bosses will spawn around after wave 18th, and the fight is very hectic .... might require a GOOD build to do this.
  • Obtain a Rampage Streak of 300 in the Simulacrum
Can be done by equipping a rampage gear such as Bisco's Leash or Sinvicta's Mettle, let the rampage effect start then switch back to your main equipment quickly then continuing killing the mob and start the next phase instantly to keep the rampage number going till 300.
  • Complete 100 waves of monsters in the Simulacrum
That's 5 runs on the Simulacrum map if you're build can do the full run(20 waves), for a descent build ... should do around 10 runs on this map that's roughly 10 waves per map, nonetheless 100 is a achievable number for a normal player.
Normal. Require a bit of grind on the league-exclusive-unique-map and also a GOOD build to do for the double delirium boss challenge ... Might need to invite a pro player to help you deal with that, the other 2 challenges is achievable with a descent build.

38. Complete Deadly Encounters(40/40)

  • Uber Elder
You can access this boss domain by combining 2 shaper fragment(Shape & Knowledge) and 2 elder fragment(Emptiness & Terror), required a good-bossing-build to do this fight.
  • High Templar Venarius in The Cortex
You can access this boss domain by putting Cortex Relic Chambers Map in ur map device, is pretty hard fight especially with multi-phases boss, invite experience player if you can't do this after you obtain the map.
  • Domain of Timeless Conflict
When collect a total of 100 timeless splinter will become a Timeless Emblem map fragment, which can be use to unlock the 5th slot of map device, if running 4 type of emblem at once. For this challenge it can be need do putting any one piece of the timeless emblem on your map device, pretty easy.
  • Mastermind at an area level of 83
This is the last boss of syndicate hierarchy, you can access the mastermind safehouse after fill the information bar to full from killing captains of each safehouse divisions. It's full fight is all about running around the arena avoid the middle laser beam and the burning arena from 4 edges. Getting a level 83 mastermind shouldn't be a problem as long you keep negotiating syndicate in high tier map, it will also replace ur old progression if u done some negotiation in the past low tier maps.
Hard. Finding these bosses is not a problem in this challenges, the BIG problem is to defeat them .... might require a good build to do these challenges OR invite an experience player to help with after you found these bosses.

39. Leave to Chance(40/40)

All of it can be easily be done but except 4 of it; chancing any weapon, strongbox, map or jewel into unique. By picking 2 out of 4, I'll choose weapon and strongboxes, here's how:
  • Chancing strongbox into unique is actually can be easily done by 2 players, 1 player spamming Orb of Chance on the strongbox another player spamming Scouring Orb on the box.
  • Chancing weapon into unique can be easily done but chancing unique weapon that are easily obtainable(high drop weighing) especially the leveling gear etc: lifespring.
Hard. Because of this challenge, orb of chance price is gonna be fluctuate for this league ... This challenge is very RNG-gated. If you manage to chance any of these 2 type into a unique rarity, then only you can proceed your journey to get the 40/40 golden trophy. Also if you're rich, you can buy the Trash to Treasure prophecy to skip this challenge easily, but expensive.

40. Complete Endgame Grinds(40/40)

  • Level 100
This is gonna be hardest of the rest challenges. If your build not very end game or dying often ... highly recommended to skip this.
  • Complete 500 Delve Encounters at an area level of 80 or higher in the Azurite Mine
Well this sound a lot better than previous depth 600 challenge, this mean any build can achieve this now as long you keep farming delve depth 189 above then eventually you'll reach this number in no time, really love this improvement GGG! Please don't bring back again reach depth 600 challenge :(
  • Cleanse 400 Darkshrines in the Endgame Labyrinth
This actually worst than previous challenge, the best you can hope for is wait for a labyrinth layout with 4 darkshine(max) within them then you'll only need to 100 labyrinth to complete this challenge, fewer darkshrine may cost you more to farm it so .... 4 dakrshrine labyrinth is your best BET to clear off this challenge.
  • Complete 50 Blighted Maps
This challenge use to be require 100 blighted maps(since blight league) got tone down to 50 ... looks good! 50 is a very achievable number, gonna at least try complete this one when doing end game challenges.
  • Defeat 100 Conquerors of the Atlas
From "75 Sirus kills" to 100 conquerors which is like trying to spawn 20 Sirus instead! Great improvement GGG! 100 conquerors is definitely an achievable number from a casual player perspective.
  • Defeat 750 waves of monsters in the Simulacrum
An upgrade version of Simulacrum II challenge, the required amount to farming this map is roughly around 75 times for a descent build(10+ waves per map) and 38 times for a good build(20 wavers per map). Is really grindy but if you like the new league mechanic then should be achievable. You can get more simulacrum splinter from farming map with high monster desnsity, etc: Tropical Island(T14), Lair(T15), Promenade(T16) base on Daykun video guide
Hard. GGG are pretty tame with the end game grinding number this league, I'm very surprise! In a good way :D ... Do 4 out of 6 of these choices, without a doubt I would skip that Level 100, that's ridiculous grind ... then maybe skip labyrinth by doing other content cuz I know many of yo really hate labyrinth ... I mean only 1% ppl can do labyrinth XD For those who willing to do lab then may wanna skip .... 750 simulacrum because of the big number, or maybe 500 delve encounters if you really prefer simulacrum if it's cheap or you love the content, 500 delve is actually more grindy compare the others options because of the sulphite grind. Well just skip the least content you like the most, overall these end game grind challenge is way more easier compare to previous league, great improvement GGG!
I will still be active updating this page from time to time whenever I got new INTEL untill the league ends ;) Hopefully you guys understand my poor english and also helped new comer try to get 40/40 challenges =D

2018.12.12 07:09 vironlawck Betrayal League challenges analysis/newbie guide

Feel free support my PATREON PAGE, means a lot to me even is little <3
NOTE:

1. Complete Vaal Side Area

Very Easy. A vaal side area is a randomly-generated side area indicated by a glowing, beating heart and swirling ribbons of blood. Every of this area will have a Vaal Vessel chest which may contain corrupt skill gems, vaal map fragments, or corrupted equipment which can be open after you beaten the boss at the end of the room.

2. Complete Betrayal Jobs

Is better to not kill Mastermind if u wanna get a lot of profits because it will reset ur syndicate hierachy which u need to rank up the all syndicate again. There are 17 type of syndicate but only can fill 14 syndicate in ur hierarchy table, so the worst 3 syndicate that worth remove from the table is Vagan, Hillock, and Elreon. There are a lot of situational awards and this is just my take. If you want to rank up your masters fast and just farm the syndicate best place for it is The Ossuary in Act 10. Go in, kill syndicate, reset. Have fun skipping that mastermind, exile. Ordicomputers had make a guide on how to maximize farming syndicates
Very Easy. Is a good introduction of betrayal hierarchy that consist of 4 segment, and each of them have different kinda of missions and rewards. Here's a table of each syndicate rewards in each division.

3. Complete these Quests

  • A Dirty Job Act 1 - Fetid Pool, clear the map.
  • Through Sacred Ground Act 2 - The Crypt, find The Golden Hand.
  • Fallen from Grace Act 6 - Twilight Strand, clear the map.
  • Fastis Fortuna Act 9 - The Foothills, slay Boulderback the unique version of Fighting Bull monster, then obtain the Calendar of Fortune near it.
  • No Love for Old Ghosts Act 10 - The Ossuary, find The Elixir of Allure.
Easy. All of these are side-optional-quests that mostly just reward respec points for passive.

4. Defeat these Act Bosses I

Easy. You'll encounter them as you progressing your journey/quest, these are the first-half of the act bosses, if can't kill just get a party to help.

5. Complete Safehouses

You get all the syndicate reward that in the same division of the safehouse, but the captain syndicate in the safehouse will get Double Reward, well except for INTERVENTION which maybe a bug where if the captain is rank 1 but the other syndicate is rank 3, u still get rusted scarab because of the captain rank; but when captain is rank 3 but other syndicate is rank 1, u get all gilded scarab instead even the other syndicate is lower rank =D
Easy. You can enter immortal syndicate's safehouse when their "information of the location" bar is full. You can fill the bar from negotiating with syndicate after capture them by gaining intelligence from them. And the safehouse reward will be base on syndicate that's under that division(yellow line/rope).
ZiggyD had made a video on soft guide about betrayal mechanic

6. Capture Beasts

Capturing beasts is a returning mechanic from 3.2.0 league expansion, you'll start encounter this mechanic from Act 2 onwards which lead by Einhar Frey where he'll help you capture beasts when their life is low after u damaged them, then you can use the captured beast for crafting in his hideout call The Menagerie.
Normal, can complete within few weeks.

7. Defeat these Gods

Easy. Most these Gods are Act6 above side bosses, which grant you pantheon power("Y"button) after killing them, and also free passive points as their quest reward.

8. Defeat these Act Bosses II

Easy. You'll encounter them as you progressing your journey/quest, these are the second-half of the act bosses, if can't kill just get a party to help.

9. Complete Twinned Maps

Normal. Some map boss are more tricky to do when two of them in a small room, you can try roll a magic rarity of the map with "Twin" mod so make the fight easier. If still can't, just ask someone else to help kill when u got them.

10. Defeat Targets I

  • While assisted by Friends Making syndicate to trust each other(green line/rope) which will cause other syndicate will jump in and helping the other syndicate you encountering against you, but they will run away after few seconds of the encountered syndicate got captured.
  • While hindered by Rivals Making syndicate to hate each other(red line/rope) which will cause other syndicate will jump in and help you against the other syndicate you encountering, but they will fight you instead when the last syndicates got captured.
  • While assisted or hindered by Subordinates Make a lower rank syndicate to trust/hate each other.
  • While assisted or hindered by Superiors Make a higher rank syndicate to trust/hate each other.
Easy. Making syndicate to hate each other is harder than making them trust each other because there's many option that can neutralize this. Although I still prefer to makes all my syndicate to hate each other u still get the loots and able to negotiate after the fight, the plus side is the help u fight, and u still encounter them often jumping in against each other, u lost nothing out of this =D

11. Defeat Incursion Architects

Incursion is a returning mechanic from 3.3.0 league expansion, you'll start encounter this mechanic from Act 7 onwards which lead by Alva Valai where she'll start appear when u found an incursion altar, then she'll teleport you to the past to change the architecture of the temple(final reward-present day) you wanted. Each incursion room will contain 2 architects, by following the map UI, if you kill the one with left-right icon architect it will change the room architecture, and if u kill the other one with up icon architect will upgrade the room architecture to higher tier. Here are the reward table of each incursion room.
Although this challenge require you to kill architects that's in present-day which is only from the Temple of Atzoatl, room that upgraded to tier 1 above will contain those architects within the room. So try to upgrade as much tier 1 room as possible if wanna complete this challenge ASAP.
Normal, can complete within few weeks.

12. Defeat Targets II

Picking execution option during encounter would increase the rank of the syndicate. The higher the rank the better the reward but also the more dangerous they will be the next encounter. Dare to risk and reward? ;)
Normal, can complete within few weeks. Just try to avoid option that decrease rank of other syndicate if u wanna complete this challenge.

13. Identify 100 Unique Items

Normal. This require couple weeks of grinding, could ask help from experienced players donate some unidentified trash unique item for this challenge.

14. Defeat Targets III

During encounter, you can Execute a syndicate to assign their division to whoever they assisting, or Bargain a syndicate to exchange division.
Normal, switching division for each syndicate shouldn't be that hard.

15. Complete Corrupted Maps

Normal. Surprisingly this is a challenge where there already has a challenge that require 8 mod already. Corrupting white map should be safe to finish this challenge when your build is decent enough to do end game content.

16. Complete these Encounters I

  • Aulen Greychain - Tier3 Fungal Hollow Map, this Oak boss will always summon Ancestor Totems around you and quite painful if u have low armor, try have a single target skill DPS down the boss when there 4 of it to complete this challenge.
  • Fire and Fury - Tier7 Lava Chamber Map, in the boss arena have 4 of these Timed Cranks, they are use to stop the lava floor around the edges which will heal the boss when it stand on it, if you're range character shouldn't be a problem DPS down the boss even in the lava, for melee ... just try kill it off before it could teleport to lava.
  • Megaera - Tier4 Crater Map, this boss will raise a lot of Molten Skeletons that cast Firestorm when they die. Try do it with twinned bosses mod of the map, kite one away and bring it into cull range then let the other boss spawn 6-9 skeles, same for the low boss, cull the low life boss then challenge complete!
  • Gisale, Thought Thief - Tier9 Scriptorium Map, this Shavronne boss attacks mostly can be easily dodge away, very telegraph fight. From datamined info her teleporting skill have higher chance to shock(25%) so try avoid her teleport marker. Getting a "removable shock" affix flask should be easily to do this challenge.
Normal, these challenges are pretty straight forward but some of it kinda tricky, just make the boss fight even more harder to challenge. If can't do this just try to ask experienced players for help, then should be easy to complete this.

17. Complete Shaper Strongholds

After meeting the Shaper got disturb by the Elder, 4 Shaper's Stronghold will appear over few maps. A map that contains a Shaper's Stronghold will be permanently Shaper-influenced until cleared by you, it can't be take over by elder influences either. Killing the map boss that contain the stronghold will drop few valuable reward such as Chisels, Sextants, Unique Items (including ones that would normally be restricted to leagues) and various Shaper Rare items.
There are few rules for shaper stronghold to spawn:
  • the map must have shaper influences
  • shaper influence has to be naturally spawn, which means ping-pong strategy can't cause it to spawn
  • can have maximum to 2 shaper stronghold to spawn on atlas, well except the starting(4)
Karvarousku made a guide video on how to make use of shaper stronghold such as maintain elder influence globe permanently
Normal. 20 is actually a small number so can be done within a month.

18. Unveil Mods

Normal. None of the syndicate veil mode are hard to be obtain, so this challenge shouldn't be troublesome to complete within few weeks.

19. Defeat Elder Guardians

In order to get this, you have to start elder's influence which spawn after you shaper's influence in tier 6, the elder will spawn in interrupting shaper. Elder Guardians spawn when u get a lot of elder's influence in your atlas. Click their name links above to learn their fight mechanic.
Normal. These boss are typically easier compare to shaper's guardian, will be a lot easier if you spawn them in white tier. If you build can't really kill them then just ask for experience player to help you kill them off.

20. Complete Unided Rare Maps

Going an unidentified rare map is kinda risky but high reward, do ounce per tier. You can obtain unidentified rare map buy doing the map vendor recipe which also effect the rarity too, etc: vendor 3 same rare map you'll get +1 tier rare map. If your build can't deal most of the map mod then just party up with other people OR invite experienced players to help your Blind Map.
Normal. Surprisingly they make this challenge easier from doing all(16) last league, to only 10 this league .. well thanks GGG! =D

21. Reach Depth Level

Reaching depth 250 above is equivalent to tier 15 maps monster level(82+). Monster start slowly scale up their life and damage passively as you pass delve 300.
Normal. Around this level of depth most of the node might inherent with hard map modifier making the monster quite dangerous, require decent build to reach this far.
Depth Monster Level Base Sulphite Cost Darkness & Light Resist Monster Life Monster Damage
270 83 697 -372% 0% 0%

22. Defeat Targets IV

A member must have at least 1 star in order to be assigned to a division and have their reward appear at the safehouse. If a member's rank falls to 0, they will become unassigned. Tasks are indicated by the text on the bottom. These tasks depend on which division the member is located in. This indicates their reward at the safehouse. Each division has a leader, who does not spawn in zones outside of the safehouse while positioned. If the leader loses their rank via negotiations by other members or gets interrogated for information on the Mastermind, they will be replaced with someone else.
Normal. Moving each syndicate to safehouse shouldn't be that hard, can complete this within a month.

23. Complete these Encounters II

  • Breachlord Normal, to gain access to kill Breachlord, you have to collect a stack of 100 splinters which will automatically turn into Breachstone. Most of the boss are kinda hard to fight, just ask for help to deal with this.
  • Lich Normal. They only can spawn from end game map's abyssal depths, they are easy to fight but their spawn rate quite rare. This challenge is very RNG dependent.
  • Pale Council Normal, Pale Council require 4 type of keys that only can get from certain prophecy chain. Could be a little difficult fight, just ask ppl to help you kill and u done with this challenge.
  • Release an Essence RNG Rate: Normal, This require few weeks to do them, you have to use Remnant of Corruption corrupt those tier 5 purple-essences(Misery, Dread, Scorn, Envy) which only spawn in End Game Maps. This table will help you understand more about essence tiers.
OVERALL: Normal. Require couple of week to finish this.

24. Open Delve Chests

Normal. 300 is not a big number as long u keep farming delve you'll get that number eventually.

25. Open Safehouse Stashes

Normal. Is just a decent grind on each division safehouse, none of it are hard to get to.

26. Fully Upgrade Rooms (36/40)

Strongbox Chamber Hall of Locks Court of Sealed Death
Hard. This challenge kinda RNG dependent but not as bad as double-corrupt gem challenge in the old days(incursion league) .... Just try upgrade each of them to tier 3 during temporal incursion, also Rooms that upgraded from connecting Temple Nexus room won't be counted to this challenge, so plan carefully before entering the incursion ;)

27. Achieve Ascension

PoELAB is a good resource to check whether today is a short/safe layout to be run or not. Also try install LabCompass for more convenient, is a MUST tools for labyrinth camper! Here's are the locations for each trial to obtain before able to enter certain difficulty labyrinth:
  • Normal Difficulty: Act1 The Lower Prison, Act2 The Crypt Level 1, Act2 The Chamber of Sins Level 2, Act3 The Crematorium, Act3 The Catacombs, Act3 The Imperial Gardens

  • Merciless Difficulty: Act8 The Bath House, Act9 The Tunnel, Act10 The Ossuary
  • UbeEternal Difficulty: Random spawn in end game maps, here's a picture for easier tracking which trial u haven't done yet.
Easy. Labyrinth will get easier when you practice more, if your build can't do it, just pay someone to bring you to do it ;)

28. Complete these Encounters III

  • High Lithomancer - Tier15 Primordial Blocks Map, just try to stand on one lane and watch out for the incoming boulders, thus will be easier to dodge them just focusin on one lane when fighting the boss.
  • A'alai - Tier13 The Alluring Abyss , this is a hard fight, the fact that A'alai has to be the last one is even more harder to do. This boss is the one that shoot projectile and also use Rain of Arrow that will pin you down with massive bleed damage. If you're build not that good, just invite other experience player to do it as long you supply them the map entry which is the mortal fragments.(Expensive)
For experience player, the strategy to this is as soon as each boss spawns, you need to immediately run them to a corner of the room then use your fastest movement skill to disengage without them following you. This keeps them in place and out of the fight so that you can go back and kill them in reverse order.
  • Uul-Netol, Unburdened Flesh - Tier8 Uul-Netol's Domain, require a physically tanky build to do this. Try avoiding using staunching affix flask during the fight to do this challenge, OR just lower his life then get few hits from it to gain stack corrupting blood on your character then cull kill it.
  • Vaal Omnitect - Require monster level 75+, this is the final boss of the Temple of Atzoatl which is part of incursion mechanic, is easy to beat unless you buff it with room upgrades for better drops. Around 50% of his life left he will start this adds phase, and the adds he spawns are named Energised Phantasms so try clear them before they get near the boss, like how you always do during Atziri adds phase(experience player know this)
OVERALL: Normal. mostly of the bosses are pretty easy except Atziri's trio which a bit more tricky to do, only can be done for very experienced players. So just try to ask experienced players for help, then should be easy to complete this.

29. Use Scarabs

  • Gilded Breach Scarab from It That Fled
  • Gilded Cartography Scarab from Rin Yuushu
  • Gilded Reliquary Scarab from Elreon, Light's Judge
  • Gilded Bestiary Scarab from Thane Jorgin the Banished
  • Gilded Shaper Scarab from Vorici, Silent Brother
  • Gilded Elder Scarab from Korell Goya, Son of Stone
  • Gilded Sulphite Scarab from Cameria the Coldblooded
  • Gilded Divination Scarab from Gravicius Reborn
  • Gilded Torment Scarab from Leo, Wolf of the Pits
  • Gilded Ambush Scarab from Haku, Warmaster
  • Gilded Harbinger Scarab from Tora, the Culler
  • Gilded Perandus Scarab from Janus Perandus
Normal. You can only obtain scarabs from 2 ways, Bargain option during negotiation with syndicate OR from Intervention division safehouse with certain syndicate that mentioned above.

30. Reach Level 90

Normal. This .... require a decent build to do this, require within a month to reach this level. If bad build that die a lot then .... maybe then need around a month+

31. Level up a Gem to 20

Normal. This is easier than leveling character to 90, just carry any gem till around level 90+ ur character ur gem might reach lvl20 already, just need more grinding. Don't worry about your character dying because it won't decrease the gem experience at all, only your character, not the gems ;)

32. Defeat Mastermind I

You can access the mastermind safehouse after fill the information bar to full from killing captains of each safehouse divisions. There's 3 phases during the mastermind Catarina, Master of Undeath fight:
Phase 1
You'll fight in her weaker form, just try run around and hit her dodge away all the green she shoot out and the big skeleton head, easy phase. After her life is low, she'll have some dialogue and run away underground then u need to go another place to find her.
Phase 2
This phase is pretty much the same with other captain syndicate when they in their safehouse, you can skip the monster around the path of clear them do as you like just run to the end then enter the last room of mastermind.
Phase 3
It's literally just dodging in circles. When the totems on the corner of the rooms light up, stand next to it. The totem actually giving you power(small regen) makes ur character become burning with green fire. Damage the mastermind untill she release a syndicate to fight you, and when the syndicate dies go back to the mastermind damage her a bit till you see the totem that nearest to the syndicate she released glows, stand near the totem till you saw a "glyph" that looks like a skele-face start showing from the ground. Suck the power from the totem till the skele-face full appear then turn that section into degen, that's where u have to move out and that place become permanent degen throughout the whole fight.
This will cause her to release another syndicate minion to attack you. Kill them. This cycle happens 3 times. The AOE in the middle that shoot out green stuff(clockwise) around the middle road speeds up after every cycle. After all of 4 syndicate is down, just dps her down and watch out of the AOE shooting clockwise. Then victory.
r4wb1rd had made a good guide video on fighting the mastermind catarina, master of undeath
[PoELab** also did written guide recently about mastermind fights](https://www.poelab.com/catarina/)
Normal. The fight ins't that hard is very telegraph mostly just circle around the arena to fight her, pretty easy mechanical fight.

33. Complete Maps with Eight Mods

Normal. This is harder than unidentified rare map, to have 8 mods on red maps(T11+), you need to use Vaal Orb to corrupt a map into 8 mods. And again, just ask ppl help you deal with the dangerous map that u crafted, or make a rotation party to farm 8mod red tier maps will be a bit easier.
Click HERE for 8 modifiers red map search via PoE Official Trading Website

34. Complete Atlas Objectives (36/40)

There's 4 kind of Atlas Objectives, which is Zana, Alva for Incursion, Einhar for Bestiary, and Niko for Delve. Map that contain these map icon means the map will guarantee contain these masters. Whenever you complete a map there's a small chance atlas objectives to spawn, and they will always spawn in completed non-unique map OR map that's adjacent to completed maps. But if there's already have atlas objective of that type in your atlas, the new one will move to a new map, and ya you can't have 2 same type of atlas objectives on your atlas. Lastly, all these 4 types of atlas objectives will be spawn on your atlas every day.
Tip1: All atlas objectives has no way to fail except for Zana which if u fail her mission you loose the challenge here, just be more careful of her.
Tip2: If you are doing a Zana objective, and the map she opens contains a master, do his or her mission. It will also count to your objectives, thus got 2 objectives from her.
Hard. The only way to complete this challenge is to keep farming DIFFERENT map to have the small chance to spawn another Atlas Objectives and also do the daily spawns of it.

Hall Of Grandmaster(hard), Perandus Manor(very expensive), The Putrid Cloister(expensive), and Doryani's Machinarium(expensive) depending whose the 3rd expensive map is =P

36. Complete these Encounters IV

  • Bestiary Boss is part of the bestiary league mechanic which introduced during 3.2.0 league expansion, now reintroduced by Einhar, BeastMaster in Act 2 town. There's 4 kind of bestiary boss, and out of all 4 Farrul is the hardest beast to fight with.
  • Delve Boss is part of the delve league mechanic which introduced during 3.4.0 league expansion, now reintroduced by Niko, Master of the Depths in Act 4 town. There's 3 kind of delve boss, and out of all 3 Aul is the hardest boss to fight with.
  • Vaal Omnitect is part of the incursion league mechanic which introduced during 3.3.0 league expansion, now reintroduced by Alva, Master Explorer in Act 7 town. To complete this challenge u need monster level 75(T8) above temple atzoatl, and the area level of the temple is determined by the average level of zones a player opened incursions in plus 10 levels(buffed from 3.5.0), however its capped at the highest level of one of incursion the player did open.
  • The Beachhead is part of the harbinger league mechanic which introduced during 3.0.0 expansion. You can get this unique map easily from upgrading map by using Harbinger's Orb which can be obtain from Harbinger monster and syndicate's safehouse. This unique map is easy to do, just kill a bunch of harbinger mob that's it.
OVERALL: Normal. All of these are part of end game content for each of individual past league mechanic that they had decided to bring back as part of core game now, pretty nice challenge I must say because doesn't need grind on each league mechanic end game, just have a taste of it =D

37. Defeat Mastermind II

Link here

38. Complete Deadly Encounters

  • Atziri in the Alluring Abyss Normal. This is the uber Atziri, is hard fight. If you're build not that good, just invite other experience player to do it as long you supply them the map entry which is the mortal fragments.(Expensive)
  • Red Tier Elder Normal. With the 3.2.0 improvement we can expect getting red tier elder will be easier. When your atlas have enough elder's influence, The Elder together with his guardians will spawn at the middle of the influence. You have to beat the guardians(4) first then only can fight with The Elder, if not The Elder won't spawn from the map.
  • The Shaper Hard. This is the last boss in the atlas of world(end game maps), the 2nd hardest boss in the game. To access this boss domain you need 4 type of map fragments that only drop from his guardians. Just like the uber atziri, just buy the service if you're build not capable to do it.(Slightly Expensive)
  • Vaal Temple Hard. Can get this through divination card name Lingering Remnants or vaaling T15 maps above only. The boss inside is pretty hard, not to mention with random add-on mods on top of this map make it more dangerous ... just buy the service if you're build not capable to do it.(Slightly Expensive)
OVERALL: Hard, just collect the entrance key or make the boss spawn then ask for help to kill the boss.

39. Complete Zana's Questline (36/40)

Hard, her whole questline is all about defeating Uber Elder which is the hardest content that PoE(3.2.0) currently ever had. If your build is not top tier then try ask for experience player to help kill it when you can spawn Uber Elder.
To spawn Uber elder, you need to get all memory fragments 1st then defeat shaper for the first time, then start to pull elder influence near any of your tier 16 map, then start complete all 4 t16 map as elder start occupying each of them then end with elder taking over the big-cross at the middle of your atlas, then you can only access uber elder by using shaper's guardian fragment map, yes they same way you access shaper's realm but this time the elder kidnapping shaper into his realm and you need to beat them both at the same time in elder's realm.

40. Complete Endgame Grinds (36/40)

  • Reach Level 100 This is gonna be hardest of the rest challenges. If your build not very end game or dying often ... highly recommended to skip this.
  • Reach Depth Level 600 in your Mine Reaching depth level 300 above is much harder than t16 map because monster life and damage starting to scale up passively. Don't worry though it won't be dangerous as long you don't delve into deadly modifiers such ash penetration resist, more than two damage mod, and chance to steal charges if your build rely on charges like Righteous Fire Build. Best way to survive deep delve is bring couple of resist flask depending on delve modifiers, and with poison removable in case of "poison on hit" mod. Also you still can party up with end game build player to help get pass hard modifier delve.
Depth Monster Level Base Sulphite Cost Darkness & Light Resist Monster Life Monster Damage
    600 83 878 -603% 83% 167%
  • Open 500 Chests at the end of the Endgame Labyrinth 500 is a lot of number but is by chest counts, which actually sound a lot better than 100 in the old league(bestiary). How? Each time you run a labyrinth will have guarantee to get at least 6 or 7 keys(3 from fully buffed Izaro, 2 from Curious Lockboxes behind gauntlet or puzzle, 1 from Argus, and last 1 from Darkshrine chances), so if you found an easy izaro with short layout labyrinth day, can farm a complete 6keys then you only need to do 500/6= 84 times! And if you're lucky to get another 2 keys at the of the labyrinth treasure chest, then you can decrease the amount u need to do even more by 500/8= 63 times!! Not even included another key from darkshrine yet! =D
  • Defeat 60 times Vaal Omnitect in an area of Level 75 or higher that's tier 8 above map of average level temporal incursions.
  • Defeat any Bestiary Bosses 40 times 40 sound do-able, could try make a trustable RAID(party rotation) to do this easier.
  • Complete your Syndicate Safehouses 100 times I'm surprise it's not farming Mastermind but only the safehouse instead ... is understandable because Mastermind fight could be very hard so is not part of the challenge ... pretty nice choice GGG! =D
OVERALL: Hard, do 4 out of 6 of these choices, without a doubt I would skip that Level 100, that's ridiculous grind ... and also 600 delve not only is super difficult but also this challenge can't be bought. I'm always okay with labyrinth farming, 40 beasts sound reasonable and they're quite commonly spawn at least it doesn't require very specific rare beast(tiger) ... Vaal Omnitect is also okay, just farm T8 map above then u get a lot of incursion above that requirement ... and lastly syndicate safehouse 100 is pretty OKAY since is easy to fill the information to the safehouse as long u keep encountering syndicate .... overall is pretty good end game challenge =D way BETTER than previous league end game grind! Kudos to GGG!

TL;DR:

This league challenges compared to previous league WAY BETTER! No more very RNG dependent challenge which is really good! Not much very tricky challenge .... well except only for the mastermind which I dono much yet(will update later) and the end game grind is not that mindless tedious farming anymore! =D It's been a while since I've been happy about doing challenges again, nice work GGG! People who have a busy life like me working+family+socializing definitely can achieve 40/40 this league. The hardest of all will be the Atlas Objectives which kinda require a daily routine to do those objectives and clear more maps to spawn more of it, a bit tedious but still a better way of farming, great improvement on the mapping challenge GGG!
I will still be active updating this page from time to time whenever I got new INTEL untill the league ends ;) Hopefully you guys understand my poor english and also helped new comer try to get 40/40 challenges =D

2018.10.24 00:54 tiMartyn FANCASTING: Static Shock

I enjoy reading a good fan cast. I prefer when I find a list of actors that I haven't heard of for certain characters (whether I agree with the choices or not). I don't often put lists of actors together, but I've had some of these actors in mind for a while. Let me know what you think. Obviously, this is totally out of fun.
I based my casting on the fantastic, underrated animated series which is what got me into comics and superheroes as a kid.
Virgil Hawkins/Static - Niles Fitch
Niles plays a young Randal on This Is Us, and brings a lot of heart and sentimentality to the role. That's important with Static, maybe more so than anything else, that he's a sincere, vulnerable character.
Richie Foley/Gear - Jaeden Lieberher
You likely know Lieberher as Bill from It. I could see him playing Virgil's wingman as a straight A, kind of dorky-cool, high school student.
Robert Hawkins - Wendell Pierce
This one feels obvious. With some casting, what's most important is that an actor has a general essence or a spirit that matches a role. Pierce has a fatherly warmth that would suit Virgil's dad.
Sharon Hawkins - China Anne McClain
China plays the daughter of Black Lightning on The CW, so maybe this is type casting, but I think she has the right sensibilities to play Virgil's overly caring, slightly bratty, older sister.
Daisy Watkins - Auli’i Cravalho
If you don't remember Daisy from the animated series, this is her. She's one of Virgil's friends, and a love interest. She's supposed to be sweet and also hold her own as a smart student leader. Auli'i would bring a lot of energy to this role, and I could see her stealing the movie away.
Frieda Goren - Kennedy Lea Slocum
Frieda was another supporting character in the series, and also showed up in the comics as a student journalist. At times, she felt like a potential love interest competing with Daisy, who's also one of her friends. Kennedy (The Kids Are Alright) has a peppy energy that would also bring a lot of life to the role.
Adam Evans/Rubberband Man - Lakeith Stanfield or Malachi Kirby
When I think of Static Shock, Rubberband Man is one of the first characters who come to mind. He's a really interesting character, a rapper who got screwed over by a record company. At first, he was more of an anti-hero, and I could see Lakeith (Atlanta, Sorry To Bother You, Short Term 12) doing a really awesome job in that part. I also like Malachi in a lot of what he's been in, from Black Mirror's episode Stripe, and a new adaption of Roots. I think it's a matter of time before he stars in a superhero movie. Either of them would give really fun, dynamic performances.
Ebon - Babs Olusanmokun
Ebon might be one of my favorite villains. Babs showed up in the Black Museum episode of Black Mirror in the most recent season, and I could see him making a cool, mysterious foe to Static. Here's a scene with Ebon if you need a point of reference.
Francis Stone/Hot Streak - Jimmy Tatro
Firstly, if you haven't seen American Vandal on Netflix- check it out immediately. It's a true crime mock-umentary, and Tatro plays the main suspect, who's an immature, jock type. He would be perfect for the role of Hot Streak as an arrogant, narcissistic opposite to Virgil. Here's a scene from the animated series.
Edwin Alva - Matthew Goode or Rutger Hauer
There's a few ways you can go with bringing Edwin Alva to life, especially in today's world. The character in the show is kind of plain, but his role in various plots is big. Matthew Goode played Ozymandias in Snyder's Watchmen, a manipulative CEO. If the character were to be made younger, I could see him giving a good performance. You likely remember Rutger Hauer from Batman Begins, in which he also plays a crumby businessman. Either of these actors could give more personality to Alva and represent the anti-progressive businessman the character is meant to be.

2018.07.04 00:16 zzsamzzsam [Discussion] Target Room Farming Simulation

I created a simulation for target farming a certain room and seeing the chances you can get that room to t3.
Why? Because gem vaaling challenge.

The assumptions:

The limitation:

The rules:

After 50 million sims, I got 13.8% as the rate of getting a specific room to t3.
Including the Shrine of empowerment possibilty into the simulation will take a little bit more work but we can assume it will boost to at about 15% and probably not much more.

Now to the challenge. There are 4 possibilities when vaaling a gem; change in quality, change in level, change to vaal version, and nothing happens.
I don't remember if we can hit double nothing so here I'll consider we can't.
There are 6 outcomes (quality+level quality+vaal quality+nothing level+vaal level+nothing vaal+nothing).
So at 0/3 completed, we have a 3/6 or 50% chance to get one done, giving us an expected value of 2 tries.
At 1/3, its a 2/6 or 33.333333% chance. An expected value of 3 tries.
At 2/3, its 1/6 or 16.66666% chance. Expected 6 tries.
So a total of 11 tries with 15% t3 gem room spawn rate, this means we would need about 73 temples which is 803 incursions.

Now assuming we can hit double nothing. There are 7 outcomes.
At 0/3, its about 2.33333 expected value. At 1/3, its 3.5 expected. And at 2/3, its 7 expected.
A total of 12.83333. This is about 86 temples or 1032 incursions.

As I listed in the beginning, we are using act 9 quarry because Alva is always around the waypoint. I sped run this zone a lot to grind for this challenge.
I didn't bother connecting any rooms unless it was a top tier room (vault, museum, corruption, sac, breach, gems ofc). Kill architect and dip. Only ran the temple if it had a top tier room at t3. Never did the temple boss.
I've ran over 30 temples in this zone and each temple takes about 6 minutes to spawn and on avg 2 minutes to run (up to 5 minutes to run, mostly zero time spent cuz no good rooms so I just reset the temple).
So at 73 temples it's almost a 10 hour grind and at 86 temples it's about 11.5 hours.

RNG is RNG though. So who knows how long this challenge would really take.

side note:
I have this theory that there are architect groups. It is obvious that the architects share skill sets but I think it might play a bigger role.
This is completed untested but I theorize architects of the same skill group can't be pitted against eachother.
What I mean is, since the Explosives architect and the Flame Workshop architect share the same skill group, you will never be given the option to choose between the two.
Would this even affect target farming a certain room? Probably. By how much? I have no idea.

Thanks for reading. Love to hear any suggestions on a better simulation set up or any mistakes I've made.
If anyone cares: source code (its a windows form app AND theres no comments, enjoy :D )

Easy. Are of these are spawn from act side zones(corrupted) and with the 3.3.0 buff of the vaal vessel drops, is really worth farming them now. You can make use of Hidden Vaal Pathways prophecy to force corrupted zone to spawn in the area you wanted to ease this challenge.

12. Complete these Encounters I

  • Defeat a Rare monster with Inner Treasure RNG rate: rare, require few weeks of grinding.
  • Defeat any Monster possessed by a Tormented Embezzler RNG rate: rare, require few weeks of grinding. You can make use of Possessed foe prophecy on map that have many boss etc: Coral Ruins Map, it has 6-7 bosses which will get possessed by different spirits. Yes by using this method is dangerous but ... is the fast and best way to do this.
  • Open an Arcanist's Strongbox RNG rate: normal, require few days of grinding.
  • Complete any map with a Tempest active RNG rate: normal, you might needed prophecy that add tempest on a map to achieve this challenge. Apparently you can do this in Temple of Atzoatl that contain tempest mod too but ... preferred through prophecy would be a lot easier.
Normal. require couple of week to finish this.

13. Open Doors in Incursions

Normal. Require in few days of grindings through temporal incursion just to open couple of doors.

14. Fulfil Prophecy Chains

Targets for the Pale Council Prophecy chains now show up on the minimap. - 3.3.0 patch notes
Normal, with this QOL improvement prophecy will be slightly better on doing this prophecy chains, just spam seek prophecy from Navali you found them eventually OR just buy last prophecy from the chain sealed from another player if you're rich enough. Just need to complete 3 out of 6 only so this challenge is easy-peasy, not much RNG required.

15. Corrupt Gear

Normal. This challenge is not that hard but a lot more INTERESTING especially with the 3.3.0 update did improve and added more possible outcome of using vaal orbs, although successfully corrupting a gear with implicit outcome might not that easy so .... this challenge might cost a couple of vaal orbs.

16. Complete these Encounters II

  • Penitentiary Incarcerator - Tier1 Dungeon Map, he only use his "hook" skill when you far away from him, so to avoid this you have to kill him in melee-range combat.
  • Herald of Thunder - Tier3 Arcade Map, so basically kill thunder 1st while ashes have more than 50% life then only kill ashes. Killing one causes the other to enrage and gain a new skill, which works exactly like Canyon Map's bosses except these were easier.
  • Executioner Bloodwing - Tier3 Cage Map, he summon his "Blood Ravens" quite fast, 100 is a lot of number but this birds aren't deal so much damage so no worried about it especially is still in low tier map. Just wait a bit for it to cast his mass ravens then kill him.
  • Rek'tar's Goatmen minibosses - Tier4 Gorge Map, when u approach near the fireplace in the boss room, Six goatmen will jump down around it so try DPS all of them down ASAP. You got 10 seconds to kill his minibosses before they boss crash them down himself, and ya the challenge require your kill not the boss friendly-kill his minions.
  • Stone of the Currents - Tier6 Wharf Map, In order to "Clear the Shield", you must first lead the boss over to the edge of the water. When he is near the water, he will summon Flood Orbs, at 75/50/25% health. Kill at least one of them when it is close to the boss, and that will remove the giant, purple shield, then finally kill the boss as usual to complete the challenge.
  • Lady Stormflay - Tier 5 Ancient City Map, Demonic Martyrs are the miscreations-variant monster that use Lightning Warp on top of you then explode themself, just try DPS the boss down ASAP before she can even summon her minions, is still consider a low tier map so is easy to kill her very fast.
  • Riftwalker - Tier8 Laboratory Map, Riftwalk is the skill he use to teleport to other platform, he will cast it when his life reach 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%(4 times in total).
  • The Broken Prince, The Hollow Lady and The Fallen Queen - Tier8 Vaal Pyramid Map, the bosses appear from a portal on the floor sequentially with 8-10 seconds between the spawns, the spawn order is The Fallen Queen, then The Hollow Lady, then The Broken Prince. To complete the challenge, you have to wait till the last one finally come out which is the prince then only can do the kill challenge in order Prince>Lady>Queen.
Normal. These challenges are pretty straight forward but some of it kinda tricky, just make the boss fight even more harder to challenge. If can't do this just try to ask experienced players for help, then should be easy to complete this.

17. Identify 100 Unique Items

Normal. This require couple weeks of grinding, could ask help from experienced players donate some unidentified trash unique item for this challenge.

18. Defeat the following Architects

Normal. each of the architects are bosses of each up gradable variant rooms, none of them are hard to encounter as long you can access the room it'll spawn them.

19. Shape these Maps

Normal. There's 2 way of gaining shaper's orb that able to shaped map into +5 tiers, which is from defeating map's boss that are under elder-influenced for the first stage of orbs(No.1~10), and defeating elder's guardian on red tier maps for second stage of orbs(No.11~15).
In order to get this, you have to start elder's influence which spawn after you shaper's influence in tier 6, the elder will spawn in interrupting shaper. Elder Guardians spawn when u get a lot of elder's influence in your atlas.
Watch this video for better understanding the new atlas mechanic

20. Complete Unidentified Rare Maps

There's 2 ways to obtain unidentified rare maps other than fresh drop from monsters, 1st way is from vendoring 3 rare maps will get you an unidentified rare maps of one tier higher, 2nd way is from corruption with vaal orbs which is much safer as you can know what mod it was before it become hidden. Unidentified maps also has it owns benefits not just doing it for challenges, it also grants 30% increased item quantity drop rates of the map.
Normal. Going an unidentified rare map is kinda risky but high reward, do ounce per tier. If your build can't deal most of the map mod then just party up with other people OR invite experienced players to help your Blind Map ... or play Support Build ;)

21. Upgrade Pantheon Powers

Normal. All of these are Major Gods which require a lot of divine vessel/soul to upgrade them. To upgrade your pantheon you need to put a Divine Vessel with the map the pantheon requires on the map device. When succeed killing the map's boss, a Divine Vessel with the boss soul appear from the map device, pass this to Sin in town then he'll upgrade your pantheon.

22. Use these Devices (36/40)

Most of these of part of special corruption device which only available on certain tier 3 incursion rooms.
  • Altar of Sacrifice is from Tier 3 Sacrificial's Incursion Room
  • Corruption Altar is from Tier 3 Corruption's Incursion Room
  • Lapidary Lens is from Tier 3 Gemcutter's Incursion Room
The best way to deal with this challenge is to farm Blood Aqueducts in Act 8 starting area, look for Alva search for these 3 rooms upgrade them and also try connecting them to the entrance room. Also try gamble some luck with Empowerment Room as it can upgrade +1 tier that connected to this room, thus higher chance to make Tier 3 rooms around it
Hardest. If you can complete this challenge then only can proceed try to get 40/40, this is a very RNG-gated challenge, not to mention this devices can't be shared thus this challenge can't be done through trading services.

23. Complete these Encounters III

  • Touch Acceleration Shrines RNG rate: normal, the spawn quite often, require few days of grinding.
  • Defeat Beyond Unique Bosses RNG rate:normal, require few days of grinding. You can increase the beyond boss spawn chance by stacking the original map's mod together with zana's Beyond mod(Lvl6) but BE WARN these bosses are dangerous ... especially Abaxoth, the End of All That Is
  • Defeat Warband Bosses RNG rate: normal. require few days of grinding. You can farm them from Tier4 Lighthouse Map(Fire), Tier3 Iceberg Map(Ice), Tier10 Shipyard Map(Lightning), and Tier14 Acid Lakes Map(Chaos). WARNING Lighthouse bosses is currently bugged(?) with her skill, which causes it to shotgun like the good old days, super DEADLY.
  • Complete the Abyssal Depths RNG rate:rare, require few weeks of grinding. Surprisingly since 3.3.0 update abyssal depth spawn rate has been buff significantly, won't be that hard anymore to find them.
  • Open Clasped Hands RNG rate: common, they are from breaches and will spawn more end game maps and also the new incursion breach rooms. But here's the catch, breach tend to drop a tons of loots which may cover up the name of this lootbox, which makes this challenge a bit annoying to do ... so I highly suggest to use a more STRICT version of loot filter.
OVERALL: Normal. Require couple of weeks to finish this depending how fast you level zana to level8 to gain access breach mod.

24. Fully Upgraded your Hideout

Normal. Master with level 7 able to fully upgrade their hideout, which require more grinding than lvl6 so .. around a month to complete this. You can also make use of A Gracious Master and A Master Seeks Help prophecy to gain more experience for the masters to speed up finishing this challenge.

25. Fully Upgrade Rooms

Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3
Sacrificial Chamber Hall of Offerings Apex of Ascension
Surveyor's Study Office of Cartography Atlas of Worlds
Armourer's Workshop Armoury Chamber of Iron
Lightning Workshop Omnitect Reactor Plant Conduit of Lightning
Flame Workshop Omnitect Forge Crucible of Flame
Trap Workshop Temple Defense Workshop Defense Research Lab
Gemcutter's Workshop Department of Thaumaturgy Doryani's Institute
Workshop Engineering Department Factory
Jeweller's Workshop Jewellery Forge Glittering Halls
Sparring Room Arena of Valour Hall of Champions
Guardhouse Barracks Hall of War
Splinter Research Lab Breach Containment Chamber House of the Others
Hatchery Automaton Lab Hybridisation Chamber
Corruption Chamber Catalyst of Corruption Locus of Corruption
Storage Room Warehouses Museum of Artifacts
Pools of Restoration Sanctum of Vitality Sanctum of Immortality
Explosives Room Demolition Lab Shrine of Unmaking
Tempest Generator Hurricane Engine Storm of Corruption
Shrine of Empowerment Sanctum of Unity Temple Nexus
Royal Meeting Room Hall of Lords Throne of Atziri
Poison Garden Cultivar Chamber Toxic Grove
Vault Treasury Wealth of the Vaal
Normal. Just try upgrade each of them to tier 3 during temporal incursion, so plan carefully before entering the incursion ;) Because of Alva Valai spawn everytime per instance, you can spam incursions in low-level-short-place to rush finishing this challenge even faster.

26. Complete these Encounters IV

  • Breachlord Normal, to gain access to kill Breachlord, you have to collect a stack of 100 splinters which will automatically turn into Breachstone. Most of the boss are kinda hard to fight, just ask for help to deal with this.
  • Abyssal Lich Normal.

27. Achieve Ascension

Easy. Labyrinth will get easier when you practice more, if your build can't do it, just pay someone to bring you to do it ;).
Click HERE to learn about The Labyrinth

28. Complete these Encounters V

  • Atziri, Queen of the Vaal Normal. This is one of the end game boss, you'll need 4 different parts of sacrifice fragment put into a map device then only can access her domain. Atziri could be a hard fight, but the fragments is kinda easy and cheap to get. If your build can't handle this boss just ask an experience player to help kill it.
  • Abaxoth, the End of All That Is Hard. This boss only spawn from beyond map's mod. He's hardly spawn but you can increase the beyond boss spawn chance by stacking the original map's mod together with zana's Beyond mod(Lvl6) but BE WARN this boss is freaking dangerous, so advice try spawn him in low tier map.
  • Chayula, Who Dreamt Hard. This is one of the breachlord variant, a chaos type. To gain access to kill this Chaos Breachlord, you have to collect a stack of 100 Splinters of Chayula which will automatically turn into Chayula's Breachstone. This boss are the hardest among the other breachlord, just ask for help to deal with this.
  • Ulaman, Sovereign of the Well Normal. This is one of the Abyssal Lich. They only can spawn from end game map's abyssal depths, they are easy to fight but their spawn rate quite rare. This challenge is very RNG dependent.
OVERALL: Normal. You're only need to do 3 out of 4 of these, so the only one I'll skip is Chayula not only is a hard boss to defeat but also the cost of the entry to his breach domain is quite expensive, but if I'm still having bad RNG to find Ulaman to spawn then I have no other choice but to choose killing Chayula.

29. Defeat the Vaal Omnitect

  • While all of the Lightning Defenses in the room are active, without taking any Damage from them
This challenge require T3 Lightning room, Conduit of Lightning so that the boss will augmented with this mechanic. There'll be lightning balls shooting around the room periodically from all sides, those projectile are slow so is easy to dodge them. But if you're bad at "bullet-hell" then there's some safe spot to stay on if u can find them.
  • While all Flame Turrets have been activated, without taking any Damage from them
This challenge require T3 Flame room, Crucible of Flame so that the boss will augmented with this mechanic. The flames have an arc pattern that doesn't hit you if you just sit on the edges behind them, or just sit the middle of the room the fire also doesn't hit you as a melee character.
  • After defeating waves of Experimented Hatchlings
This challenge require T3 Hatchery room, Hybridisation Chamber so that the boss will augmented with this mechanic. The hatchlings mobs will spawns during his adds-phase, clear them first before killing boss to complete this challenge.
  • After defeating the two Omnitect's Guard
This challenge require T3 Hatchery room, Hybridisation Chamber so that the boss will augmented with this mechanic. Omnitect's Guard are 2 golem-like monsters, kill them first before killing boss to complete this challenge.
  • Without allowing any Energised Phantasms to restore Energy Shield to it
Around 50% of his life left he will start this adds phase, and the adds he spawns are named Energised Phantasms so try clear them before they get near the boss, like how you always do during Atziri adds phase(experience player know this)
OVERALL Normal. Getting these required room to Tier 3 might not be profitable but is cool to know that room changes can also effect Omnitect in some way.

30. Reach Level 90

Normal. This .... require a descent build to do this, require within a month to reach this level. If bad build that die a lot then .... maybe then need around a month+

31. Level up Gem to 20

Normal. This is easier than leveling character to 90, just carry any gem till around level 90+ ur character ur gem might reach lvl20 already, just need more grinding. Don't worry about your character dying because it won't decrease the gem experience at all, only your character, not the gems ;)

32. Complete Twinned Maps

Normal. Some map boss are more tricky to do when two of them in a small room, you can try roll a magic rarity of the map with "Twin" mod so make the fight easier. If still can't, just ask someone else to help kill when u got them.

Click HERE for 8 modifiers red map search via PoE Trade.

34. Defeat Shaper Guardians

Normal. These bosses are the shaper's guardian which locate at the middle of the atlas map guarding the shaper's realm, just click the LINKs above to learn their fight mechanics. These bosses require a very end game build to defeat them, could just try doing these map in white rarity for easier fight, or just call for a party to help killing these map as you supplying the map for them.

35. Cause Map Influence (36/40)

Hard. Compare to previous challenge league which is 3,000 augmented map(1500/3=500), this is slightly better. This is because of there's no need to have 3 condition anymore(sextant, influence, zana mod) to satisfy the 3 ticks/counts making the challenge easier ease toward 500 instead of 3,000. But this challenge league make it straight forward into 500.
Once you have completed 20 maps while the Elder and its guardians are on your atlas without actually defeating any of them, there is a chance for the Elder and its guardians to disappear and remove the Elder-influence from the maps they were on. This will make it difficult to maintain an "Elder Ring", but will also allow players who weren't capable of defeating the Elder or its guardians to clear them from their atlas. - 3.3.0 patch notes
This still means that Permanent-influence tricks is still works, not DEAD but got nerf hard. So here's how you do it in 3.3.0 to make this challenge a bit easier:
  1. Make elder influence spawn.
  2. Push the elder influence to the edge like this
  3. Then start camping the map at the middle range as long the elder won't spread outside too much, for example this picture you farm around this blue zone.
  4. As long you have less than 19 elder-influence in your map then YOU'RE FINE. More than that the elder will spawn then will ruin your perma-influence-strategy.
The best map to do this is City Square Map because of simple linear map and also located at the edge so will be easier to sustain influences with it. Still ... I would advice not to do this if you're not spending 2 months+ grinding this game, this is for player who want 40/40 challenges.

Grimro and thi3n video explained in more detail how's bubble-shapeelder-influence strategy works to have permanent influence on your favorite map

36. Complete Unique Maps

Normal. Do 14 out of 18, with the help of The Encroaching Darkness divination card, this challenge will be slightly easier to complete as you keep grinding end game maps collecting this cards. Even your RNG is sux collecting these card, you could buy some of the unique map at here, most of the unique map are quite cheap.
The least 4 favorite unique map I would skip is ... Hall Of Grandmaster(hard), , Perandus Manor(very expensive), The Putrid Cloister(expensive), and The Twilight Temple or Mao Kun depending whose the 3rd expensive map is =P

37. Complete Deadly Encounters (36/40)

  • Red Tier Elder Normal. With the 3.2 improvement we can expect getting red tier elder will be easier. When your atlas have enough elder's influence, The Elder together with his guardians will spawn at the middle of the influence. You have to beat the guardians(4) first then only can fight with The Elder, if not The Elder won't spawn from the map.
  • The Shaper Normal. This is the last boss in the atlas of world(end game maps), the hardest boss in the game. Just like the uber atziri, just buy the service if you're build not capable to do it.(Slightly Expensive)
  • Uber Elder Hard. This is the hardest content that PoE(3.2) currently ever had. If your build is not top tier then try ask for experience player to help kill it when you can spawn Uber Elder. To spawn Uber elder, you need to get all memory fragments 1st, then defeat shaper for the first time, then start to pull elder influence near any of your tier 16 map, then start complete all 4 T16 map as elder start occupying each of them then end with elder taking over the big-cross at the middle of your atlas, then you can only access uber elder by using shaper's guardian fragment map, yes they same way you access shaper's realm but this time the elder kidnapping shaper into his realm and you need to beat them both at the same time in elder's realm.
OVERALL: Hard, just collect the entrance key or make the boss spawn then ask for help to kill the boss.

38. Defeat Alluring Abyss Trio

Hard. These 3 bosses can be found in uber Atziri domain's 2nd phase fight, is hard fight. The fact that each of the trio-boss have to be the last to kill is kinda tricky to do.
Apparently this challenge is currently BUG where you can done this in normal Atziri map(Sacrifice Fragments), so take advantage now before it got fixed ;) they already fixed it since patch 3.3.0b Hotfix 1

39. Complete the following Encounters VI

  • Shock and Horror - Tier12 Torture Chamber Map, it'll cast Lightning Beam when you're far away from it, hiding behind a pillar while it casting the Lightning Beam will disrupt the beam. So to complete this challenge you need to disrupt it's Lightning Beam one time, then attack him till around low life then wait for another, then finally kill it while it's beam is on you.
  • Eater of Souls - Tier13 Core Map, This boss will cast Rune Traps very often, it'll looks like a circle-red-glyph on the ground and explode when you near it. You can finish all of the rune traps while you are in the first area with Piety, also try use some totem skill summon on top of those Rune Traps to clear them, clear 15 of them then kill the boss to complete this challenge. Apparently this challenge also required you to get damage at least one of runes to achieve this challenge.
  • The Elder - Eldritch Decay is the grey ground that deals physical DoT that drop from his add spawn. This challenge a bit hard to highly suggest do this in white tier map as you need those add spawn to leave 5 Eldritch Decay in the boss arena, after that clear the add spawns then DPS down the elder ASAP to complete this challenge.
  • Sanguine Siren - Tier14 Crimson Temple Map, it'll start summon Blood Ravens every few seconds, those Blood Raven are quite soft so I would suggest use single target skill/build DPs down the boss till low life then wait for 3 Blood Raven spawn then only kill off the boss to complete this challenge.
  • The Goddess - T14 Plaza Map, this boss cast a green lightning beam with a green circle targeting you that deal fire DoT damage, you can disrupt the beam by standing behind a pillar. This beam degen damage can be tank as long you have descent regen and none decrease resistance map mod, just tank it and DPS down the boss to complete this challenge.
  • The Infernal King - T13 Caldera Map, Fiery Mortars is the mortar that fires out from the lava around the boss arena, could a bit tricky avoiding them during the fight. Apparently the starting area spot is where the mortal doesn't fires at there, so if you're build can tank the boss then should be no problem doing this challenge just stand at the starting area then DPS it down to complete the challenge.
  • Guardian of the Phoenix - T16 Forge of the Phoenix Map, it'll start summon Phoenixes every few seconds, those Phoenixes are quite painful and will be revive after they been killed. Strategy is kinda similar with Crimson Temple map boss which is DPS down the boss to low life then wait till more Phoenixes spawn then cull the boss.
  • Guardian of the Minotaur - Tier16 Maze of the Minotaur Map, he will show big circle-glyph around him meaning he is starting to make a big slam on the ground then created cave-in-zone that spawn stone golems and falling stones which deals a lot of damage. Is very noticeable when he casting this big slam and is slow so try dodge away from him when he start casting that skill. Avoid this slam and DPS down the boss then you'll complete this challenge easily.
Hard. This challenge are a bit more tricky and harder to do and all of them are hard end game map's bosses, only can be done for very experienced players. So just try to ask experienced players for help, then should be easy to complete this.

40. Complete Endgame Grinds (36/40)

Hard. This is for ppl who willing to spend 2 months + and aim for 40/40 challenges, if 36/40 just ignore this. For ppl who wanna do this ..
  • Reach Level 100 This is gonna be hardest of the rest challenges. If your build not very end game or dying often ... highly recommended to skip this.
  • Defeat Uber Elder 20 times sound reasonable, spawn uber elder ain't that hard by pulling elder influence to the middle will override the elder spawns to the middle when the condition is met(all T16 maps got elder influenced). Yes it is the hardest fight but you can invite others to help you kill it as long you can make them spawn in ur map.
  • Open Chests at the end of the Endgame Labyrinth 500 is a lot of number but is by chest counts, which actually sound a lot better than 100. =D
  • Defeat Breachlords 40 is reasonable number, plus is any of the breachlord so you can pick the cheapest which should be Tul, Creeping Avalanche (COLD) then farm it. To gain access to kill Breachlord, you have to collect a stack of 100 splinters which will automatically turn into Breachstone. Most of the boss are kinda hard to fight, just ask for help to deal with this.
  • Complete Abyssal Depths 100 times of RNG? Ugh ... only pick this if you seriously good with RNG encountering them OR buy the entry from other player if you're rich enough.
  • Defeat the Vaal Omnitect in an area of Level 75 or higher that's tier 8 above map of average level temporal incursions.
OVERALL: Have to do 4 out of 6 of these choices, I'ma skip the Level 100 cause I have a life to live with, and Abyssal Depths because I don't trust of my RNG to encounter them so often.
But ever since 3.3.0 update I felt like Abyssal Depths spawn rate has been buff a lot, I've been encountering them once or twice per 5~10 maps. Maybe should give 100 Abyssal Depths a try if you're mapping a lot, and if you're able to do it then might skip the others you lazy to do with like ... maybe labyrinth. For me I would skip Vaal Omnitect which felt require a lot more grind(70x11=770 maps) compared the rest =/

TL;DR:

This league challenges compared to previous league is slightly better, less RNG challenge, a more tricky encounter challenges which is always cool, and a better end game grind with smaller number THANKS CHRIS!!! no more 150! =D Yeah 500 might sound a lot but actually isn't ;) although I have a mix feeling on the map grinding(500) ... Overall is almost do-able to get 40/40 within 3 months in this league even you're busy with work like me =D. The hardest of all will be the Use These Device challenge, it gated behind RNG not to mention this challenge can't be bought in anyways ... once you manage to do this challenge then only try to aim for 40/40 =/ ....
I will still be active updating this page from time to time whenever I got new INTEL untill the league ends ;) Hopefully you guys understand my poor english and also helped new comer try to get 40/40 challenges =D
