2024.05.29 08:18 Nenekasa just got all 4 out plus an extra.

19 years old and i finally pulled all 5 of these suckers out. 4 wisdom teeth and an extra tooth behind the bottom right one. all impacted sideways.
It's been about 7.5 hours post-op and im not feeling too bad yet, although im on ibuprofen, tylenol and oxycodone so i basically painkiller-bombed the pain right as it started to hit me.
i think the worst part really was the numbing injections, that got me teary-eyed, ngl. i was fully conscious the whole 1.5 hours it took and my dentist was smooth and used conversation to distract me away from the whole thing. I ate a little about 5 hours after, some heavily watered down instant mashed potatoes and a cup of yogurt. i don't usually feel hungry when im recovering from anything though so it took me a long time to finish.
maybe its because ive recovered from worse (dislocated knee, took 3 months to feel normal off that.) but so far i feel like this isnt as scary as my mind made it out to be. my biggest worry at this point is developing dry socket so ill make sure to follow my post-op instructions to a T. My parents are nurses though, so i am at least well taken care of through all of this.
it's about 11pm and i took a little extra tylenol for the night, i will maybe post again on days 5-7 since im keeping a little log of each day.

So this all occurred within three to four days. I started chatting with a nice guy on Bumble. We had great text conversations & he asked me out on a date; we got Mexican food and hung out at the beach. I found him very attractive, felt like we had good banter, and I was having a lot of fun. Eventually, things started becoming more physical. He invited me over to house & we hit third base. I was on my period and I normally don’t do sex on the first date; staying over at his place was bold for me and I do believe we moved a little fast for a first meeting.
I left for work in the morning & I thought everything was fine. But we decided to meet in the evening after work so I could pick up some stuff from him; I graduated from university but have plans to apply to nursing programs in the summer in the area. He said with my plans to go to nursing school and things being up the air for me this won’t work for him. he said his ex of four years did nursing school (w/ all the studying & long hours of clinicals) and he experienced the toll it took on their relationship. He also said he’s looking for long term right now & he didn’t feel as strong of a spark on our first date as he did with his ex and a recent date he went on (a girl whom was more settled in her career). He said he experienced two short relationships ending recently for the reasons of plans being up in the air for them.
I thought we had a great connection and I didn’t sense any awkwardness, even thought we had good physical intimacy. I’m super picky when it comes to guys and he’s honestly the only one I clicked with on the app.

my family situation is complicated. I have two grandparents on my paternal side that are alive, and one grandparent on my maternal side. my maternal grandmother stole my mother’s inheritance from her father’s will when he passed, and it’s not that my mom cared about the money. it’s just hard to allow someone to remain in your life when they steal from you, especially during such a vulnerable time in your life, as a family member. my paternal grandparents are another story. my grandfather is attentive and comes to every life event, though with his age and one leg, it’s been harder for him to get out in recent years. he is the sole caregiver from my grandma so he is forced to get out daily though. however, he recently broke his back. and my parents and I are her caregivers now. my grandmother is mentally ill, and hasn’t left the house in over 10 years. she missed my high school and college graduation, my sisters wedding, and my sisters graduate and masters graduations. I assume both grandmothers will miss my wedding and graduation from nursing school. for the last few years, my grandpa has been the only reason she had food each day, and clean clothes, despite her being hateful towards him. when I see her, she continuously tells me she wants to die (she is only 78 and is in relatively good health, no cancer, no diseases), auctioning off her items when I see her. however, she doesn’t take care of herself, and has let her teeth rot, her eyesight is so bad that she uses binoculars to see my face, and her toenails are 4 inches long. she won’t let my grandpa help her with her hygiene, and she refuses to do it for herself. the only thing she talks to me about is the news. she will begin with the new gossip, then move onto the wars in the world and end with how it is all the plan of God, and how the end times are upon us. every time. i’ve been holding out, hoping that she’ll change trying to talk sense into her (shower, stop talking to me like i’m an audience, be nice to your husband). I realized that i’m literally mourning her while she is still alive. i’m longing for the grandmother figure I never had. comparison is the thief of all happiness. I can assure you. I compare my grandmothers to my friends’, boyfriend’s and random people on tik tok’s grandmothers. it’s so unfair. I wish I could tell you all about the great memories I have with my grandmothers, and how many life lessons they taught me. but I can’t. for as long as I can remember (23 years), I have never had a conversation that I would consider normal with my grandmothers. i’ve never been able to go to them for advice, or make cookies with them at christmas time, I never wished to go to their houses when I was little, and I truly forgot what my maternal grandmother looked like because she burned her bridges to my family so long ago. I want to give myself permission to mourn the grandmother figures I wanted to have. I want to grieve the image i’ve had in my head all these years to move on from this world of hurt I live in.

So, I am still in shock writing this post and I haven’t told anyone yet, not even my husband. I think the first thing I need to do is speak with my husband and then decide what we want to do. I am not sure how he will feel about this. I’m going to go on a whole ride here because this is still so unbelievable.
I (25f) was left millions of dollars by an older guy I use to date. Back in 2017 when I was in college, I went to Florida to spend the summer with my uncle. I use to frequent the Las Olas area and one evening while I was out with some friends who lived in Florida, I met an older gentleman. I was 20 at the time, not a lot of experience with men or anything really.
This guy was in his early 60s but definitely looked 45 max. We started dating and mostly, I would just attend these high end events with him like galas and yacht parties and travel around the states a lot. At this time, his wife had just passed on a year ago and during the summer I met his son casually at a dinner party at his place. I would run into his son whenever I was at his place and we had a good relationship.
Dating this guy was super refreshing, like, a finer kind of life I was never really use to. It was just a fun time and all throughout this time, we never slept together once. We would kiss and cuddle but he never initiated sex. It was just great conversation, he told me about all his life experiences and how he made his money, he was into real estate, investing, and the hotel industry. He gave me a lot of advice about money etc. In the back of my mind, I knew he had money ofc but I didn’t realize he had this much money. Anyway, I was in college for Nursing (I am now an CVICU nurse) and at the end of the summer I had to go back to the North for school. A few days before I left, he actually sat me down and asked me if I really wanted to finish school. He basically was asking me to quit school and move to Florida with him and just kind of be his trophy girl. (Which honestly is what I was during the summer) I thought about it and even though it seemed easy, I honestly didn’t know a whole lot about this man, and I never saw myself as that person. I wanted the career, and the degree, and to make my own money. I never ever asked him for money or for anything at all. I just genuinely enjoyed his company.
I wanted to continue to date him however, but he said he couldn’t do the long distance and if we were going to date he would want me to live with him. For me, it was just all too soon. And the huge age gap I wasn’t sure this was something I wanted long term. We ended up going our separate ways but we still kept in touch. Checked in on each other every couple of months. Just hi and bye. I eventually got married. I of course told my husband about that relationship because it did mean a lot to me and I did care about him. The last time I spoke to him was about 3 months ago.
Well, the executor of his estate contacted me a few days ago. A few hours later his son also called me and we talked for a long time about him and how he passed. Honestly, at first I didn’t believe that it was real but after talking with his son. Wow. His son told me this guy talked about me so much and that he told him I pulled him out of depression and sadness after his mom died. His son told me I meant a lot to him because the time I came into his life was a really rough time and I made it better.
I feel so many emotions because I never knew our relationship meant so much to him. I am very grateful he thought of me and I am still not sure if I should accept this money. I am a nurse and while nurses don’t make millions, I make good money to live a comfortable life. My husband also has a great job as well. I will be talking with my husband about it soon. We were at a restaurant that had a bar, I went up to the bar to grab some drinks for us and he was there and offered to pay for them. He asked me to sit at the bar with him and I told him I was already out with some friends. We decided to exchange numbers and he called me. We chatted for a few days and then he asked me out to lunch. Our relationship wasn’t like, romantic or dreamy or anything of the sort. It was just a good time.
When he asked me to move to Florida he just explained he really enjoyed my company and spending time with me and he wanted to explore where this might go. It wasn’t like, “I’m inlove with you and I want to be with you forever” type thing. Thats part of the reason why I am kind of stunned.

Take a month off and enjoy life, do things he enjoyed. Take his son and just reminisce.
OOP: I talked to his son a few days ago. He wanted to be cremated so his son is going to do that and its just him, his friends, and a couple of extended family members. I will speak with my husband to see if he would be okay with going. If he is, then we will attend.

OOP: Sometimes good companionship is more meaningful than sexual escapades. Not saying we both weren’t attracted to each other but it was more than that. And also, you can form lasting relationships with people your own age. There are a lot of high value men in their 30s who will give you the world if they can and not abuse and take advantage of you, but of course you should treat them the way you want to be treated. Just be genuine. I have dated men who are way well off in their 20s. There is nothing wrong with wanting to date someone who is financially capable, society makes it seem like there is something wrong with that. I’ve never asked any man I’ve ever dated for money or other things. You become your environment and the people you hang around. I’ve learnt a lot about investing and real estate just by being among this crowd. Sometimes that knowledge is way more important than anything else. And if they happen to be 20, 30, 40 years older than you… so what? 2024.05.29 04:57 Equivalent-Worth-303 How to deal with intimidation tactics from other nurses?

I’m a new grad LPN who went PRN at the hospital I’m working at to work Full time in a nursing home. I will only be there until the end of August because I am starting my RN bridge program. I generally hate nursing homes because of the people who work there. I’ve never had a good experience in terms of bullying and terrible treatment. But my hospital job does not pay well and I need to make and save money for school and this place was paying the most.
The job is ok. Nothing terrible. But the nurses I have to deal with on day shift are all insane and questionable individuals. I can deal with 2 of them because they are easy to ignore. But one in particular has really been bothering me and I don’t know how to deal with it to save my own sanity. I’ve known her in passing for years since I was a CNA at this same place. But she found out that I’m going back for my RN through gossip and I believe that’s why she’s been acting this way. And she always comes to work 30 minutes late so I always leave at least 45 minutes late. On my first day meeting her again there was no warm greeting, only a Hello and then my name.
At one point she went on a tirade about why she’ll never go back for her RN and how being one is pointless and stupid and such a bad idea. And she went on and on for quite a while about it. She was telling this all to someone else completely unprovoked. The conversation had nothing to do with but she she just brought it right up out of nowhere and was looking at me the entire time. And she was so worked up. I thought it was strange but I wasn’t bothered by it. But every time I give her report she always does the same things. She ALWAYS walks away from me as I’m giving report and she’s never actually doing anything. She just walks away pretending to do random things and tells me she’s still listening which means I have to talk louder. But I never get a full sentence out. She ALWAYS cuts me of as I’m trying to tell her things about the patients to have a conversation with the other nurse or one of the CNAs and make sly jokes. I never get to give a full report because she never lets me finish it. At one point I was trying to tell her that I redressed a patient’s wound, but she cut me off to start laughing and talking to a CNA.
She and this same CNA also mocked me and the way that I talk and make faces at each other making fun of me when they think I don’t notice. She also belittles and talks down to me as if I’m a child or stupid. It’s so bad. I don’t know how to approach this because there are people all around us and they are all her friends and I don’t want any trouble. I feel like I have to just sit and let them make fun of me and intimidate me. I’m also on the autism spectrum so a lot of things I don’t pick up on right away and by the time realize it, it’s too late. And I am not good with confrontation or recognizing certain things in the moment that they happen. I’m always so nice to her and to everyone else and I just feel like they think I’m stupid. Or maybe they are just intimidated that I want to advance farther than them just want me to believe I am. I don’t know.

So I’m back at online dating and It’s been a long time. Last time my social anxiety was so high that I made myself nauseated the second time I saw a man that I left early and than messaged him several days later saying I couldn’t see him again. I was 19. I’m now 25 and out of a 2 year relationship. Previous relationships have happened prior to that with people I worked with but they were at jobs that it didn’t matter so much because I was studying to be a nurse and wouldn’t be there long term. Now I work at a big hospital and in one area now for the next 12months hopefully longer but because of this I cannot go dating the men there, not unless I want a huge amount of gossip going around and honestly it would have to be either a together forever relationship or ends actually mutually or at least without lying or cheating. So I have to avoid other nurses where I work. So online dating it is again. But for the life of me I don’t understand the rules for it. Like okay we matched, and I message him and we have a conversation. But what do you have a conversation about? And at what stage do you just ask to meet up or have lunch or something? So right now I'm a nurse in training and my current hospital ward is the first workplace where my deadname isn't on the roster (I changed my name legally almost a year ago but my school didn't inform the retirement home I worked after that that my name changed so they still knew my deadname). At my first hospital ward where I worked my colleagues knew that I'm trans, sometimes misgendered me and I got some questions because I'm trans. Now I never got any questions or was being misgendered whatsoever. So I don't know if they know that I'm trans or if I pass. There was one situation when at break my colleagues and I chatted about name changings (because a patient got confused with some colleague's name and we joked about changing it for fun) and I read a list of reasons to legally change your first name in Germany. The last reason I listed was being transgender and nobody really commented on that. Except one colleague who wanted to start a conversation about the new law in Germany in which trans people can change their name and gender more easily but nobody really paid attention, she couldn't even finish her sentence. It sounded like she didn't like the law though. But would she say something to a trans woman? And when I worked with her she was always nice to me. I always tried to not let other people know that I'm trans (even though I always think that people can tell). Sometimes I'd say something like "of course I'm able to give injections already, I'm doing them on myself as well" but nobody asked why I would take injections or something. No questions so far. So now I was working in the night shift and I prepared the medication for some patients. Then I saw that there was cyproterone acetate in the medicine cabinet and I said to my colleague "wow they have that here. It's always funny for me to see medicine in the hospital that I'm taking myself" but also there weren't any questions. She was questioning what the indications are and why it's here because the package hasn't been opened so far. So I said that it's a t blocker and then read some indications from a website. But my colleague didn't question or reacted surprised that I'm taking it. So I don't know if she just didn't care or it's not a new information for her that a trans woman is taking t blockers. I was pretty nervous to talk about my hrt (even though it's just a small part of it) but there weren't any questions. I still don't know if I just pass or if the people here are just decent and don't pose dumb questions. Tbh I do want to know if they clocked me or not but I also like the thought that I could be just passing. I don't want to out myself because I don't know if my colleagues start to misgender me or something else if they know that I'm amab. But it's kinda nice that I can just be me without weird looks or unnecessary comments.
