When I was in my teens my mother had a partner who was a bit ‘too nice’. Over time I would notice him lurking around the house when I got out of the shower or was in my room getting changed. He would peek in keyholes, there was a small window up quite high above the bathroom door and I would see him looking in when I was in the shower. He even somehow created a small hole in the roof of the bathroom from the attic and he would go up there and look down while I was in the bath. He used to be a masseuse and would offer to give massages and touch my boobs, always found some way to get close and touch me inappropriately. Or purposely leave his bedroom door opened while naked which I had to pass to get to the bathroom so I would see him as I went by. I never said anything. My mother found out and woke me one morning before school to ask me about it, I cried and never wanted to speak about it. We went to one family therapy session where I found out from my sister that it was happening to her too, she found recordings on his phone of my cousin in the shower also. It was a huge ordeal for us all and we never spoke of it. He moved abroad for a while but when he came back he got into a relationship with another woman who I knew had a daughter my age, I was worried he would do the same to her but thought I was a bit older now so the girl would have the sense to notice these things and most likely stayed with her boyfriend most nights anyway I liked to convince myself as I was too afraid to speak up, I was worried how it would affect my mother and I don’t blame her for any of this so would prefer no negative comments about her. His parents were friends with my grandparents and my aunts and uncles friends with some of his siblings so it all felt very awkward. Skip forward to late last year where it came out that he had been recording the daughter of his new partner too and a few days later he commit suicide. I don’t live in the same town so done well enough to block it out but for the past few months I feel like I see him in places even though he’s obviously not there. If I see people who resemble him I think it’s him for a moment and then it’s all that’s on my mind. I would say I almost felt sad when he passed as he was a big part of our lives for so long although everything he done was very wrong. I probably need to go back to therapy and try to process this better but is it normal? It just feels weird but I don’t want to actually think about it in depth. I’m now in my mid-late 20’s. Guess I just wanted to finally get all of this off my chest in a way.

He did not finish college, pero nag vocational. His parents are separated, pero civil at all goods lahat, and every Sunday nandun sila sa father side nila para bonding.
Hindi ko napakilala si bf sa bahay nung nanliligaw palang since kahit ako mismo naoverwhelm sa feelings ko. Sabi nga nila: when you know, you know. Pero a month into our relationship pinakilala ko sya kay mama and pumunta sya sa bahay.
Okay naman nung una, pero di ko alam anong nangyari bakit biglang naging ganun si mama. Nung nalaman ata history. Na sobrang ayaw na nya dun kay bf as in na umabot na sa point na ang sasakit ng nasabi nya. Ang reason nya is ayaw nya na maging bf ko ay galing sa broken family. Kahit na inexplain ko naman na okay silang lahat. Ayaw din ni mama na ma-meet ko anyone from his family.
Personally, nameet ko na family nya nang patago at masasabi ko na sobrang okay ng dynamics nila. Grabe. Nun ko narealize na wala talaga sa pagiging separated ng parents kung masaya ba sila or hindi as a family. Kasi parang sobrang chill nila lahat parang walang problema. At super bait nila lahat sakin.
Now the problem is, lagi ako binabawalan makipagkita kay bf. Bawal ako gumala after work, laging tinatanong kung nasan, sino kasama, pero pag sinabi ko na friends hindi maniniwala at magagalit sakin nang sobra.
Kaya natuto ako na wag nalang magsabi na si bf kasama. Di ko na sinasabi talaga. Kasi ultimo kakain lang kami or magkakape, matindi na ang galit sakin ni mama... kaya tumahimik na din ako sa bahay. Kahit anong sabihin ko ay mali. Meron pa, namatay lola ni bf and nagpapaalam ako kay mama. Ayaw. Wala daw sya pkialam kung patay or buhay man pupuntahan ko basta ayaw nyang mameet ko family ni bf. Sabi dati basta magpaalam ako okay na pero pag nagpaalam, galit sobra. Na nagkakaiyakan na.
I "had" plans na mag-work sa US since yun din ang gusto ng parents simula una. Na dun na ko tumira at dun nalang ako. Pero now nagdadalawang isip ako since naniniwala talaga ako sa potential ng business ni bf and mga plans namin na negosyo. Tho aalis pa rin ako pero 2-3years lang siguro then uwi na dito for good... Yun pa ata isa sa kinakagalit ng mama ko. Kasi gusto nya ako maging kapalit ni papa na maging ofw, at maging earner para sa kanila.
Tinanong ko sya kung ayaw ba nya makita na masaya ako at may nagmamahal sakin... Ang sabi nya kahit kailan daw hindi sya haharap sa family ni bf at hindi sya pupunta if ever ikasal ako. Super dami pa nyang nasabi na masasakit kay bf then magagalit sya bakit di pumupunta. As per bf naman, di sya galit pero pupunta nalang daw sya kapag super stable na ng business nya and mapprove nya na magiging okay ako sa kanya. Nasabihan pa nga ako na sana daw di nalang nya ako tinutukan nung bata kung magiging ganito lang din ako. :)

I signed up a few weeks ago to run a 10K on 11/30/2024, which is in about 198 days. (My ultimate goal is to run the same event’s marathon in 2025 if all goes well.)
I’ve never run uninterrupted for more than a mile in my life, and that was ~30 years ago in middle school. I have no major injuries or health issues.
I weigh 230 pounds, of which 168 pounds is LBM, and am reasonably strong (SBD 1,200lb-club) and limber.
Right now, I’m on Week 4 of Runna’s “New to Running” plan, which essentially appears to be an 8-week C25k program. So far, so good.
I’m being especially diligent with warmups and cooldowns, as well as with getting ample rest between run (or run-walk) days and plenty of sleep every night. I’ve also made significant changes to my dietary habits, aiming to be closer to 200 pounds on race day.
After this current 8-week program is over, I will have 24 weeks remaining before 11/30/2024. Here’s how I’ve envisioned spending those weeks:
W1: Break W2 to W13: 12-week 10K program W14: Break W15 to W22: 8-week 10K program W23 to W24: TBD (including some kind of break)
If I can remain injury-free during my training, is the above a decent plan? Also, is it likely that I will be able to complete the race in under 65 minutes?

No, genuinely, I can’t mask. Even for my own benefit. I used to have meltdowns in school and at home — used to have food shoved down my throat by my parents because I was “such a picky eater”. Used to get screamed at, dragged. Was obsessed with Lion King, and singing, and twirling, and walking on my tiptoes, and hitting my head rhythmically against the wall.
My parents even received disability benefits for me as a kid. Do you think I ever saw any of that money?

I've been working as a Salesforce admin for the past two years at a non-technical company, where I was the sole admin handling everything Salesforce-related. Recently, I made the transition to a very technical company where I'm currently employed as a mid-senior Salesforce admin.
While I've gained valuable experience in my current role, I find myself contemplating the idea of downgrading to a junior position. The reason behind this is that despite being technically competent, I feel there are still gaps in my knowledge and skills that I'd like to address. Additionally, I believe starting afresh in a junior role could provide me with a more structured learning environment and the opportunity to fill in those gaps effectively.

Okay that was really long. I took most of your advices and blocked him but I guess he was desperate and the situation ended up like this. I have the day off school tomorrow so I have until then to sort things out. I genuinely felt sick and uncomfortable reading that. I feel like I have to tell an adult. This really isn’t okay. But before I do, does anyone have anymore advice on what I should do?

I never had anger issues, neither did I always get irritated by every little thing but I developed anger problems little by little. I was already thinking about s*icide at the age of 10, which is not something to be proud about. My mom and brother played a big part in making me feel like shit. They would constantly leave me out. I don’t think they ever even noticed that they did so much damage to me. It almost feels like it’s just their nature. I was never taught to open up and talk about my problems, it was more like a “I don’t care about your problems because you’re still young and your feelings aren’t valid” type of household. One time, I fell sick for a whole week and had to skip school. My mom called me outside for dinner and just when I was about to take a bite, she said “You’re so useless, I just want to abandon you with your father and leave this house with your brother” and it went on even worse. It was the most gut wrenching thing she had ever said to me. I ran out of there so quickly and went back to my room. I had a massive breakdown and didn’t have anyone to contact or talk to. He asked me about what was going on and what was wrong, I felt glad that I had someone to talk to. Okay, so, since the Fallout cookbook exists, I saw the Nuka Cola Float in it, and it looked good. If you don't have a ice cream machine ​(i dont either), then just get some plain store bought ice cream, and some nuka cola in a tall glass.
Nuka Cola recipe:
Nuka Cola.
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Steeping time: 12 hours
Equipment: Zester (if you don’t know, it looks like a cheese grater, but little with tiny grater holes), large saucepan, fine mesh strainer, large (4 cup? 1L?) airtight jar. I also use a sodastream, but it’s not necessary.
Ingredients:
· Syrup:
o 2 cups water
o 3 cups sugar
o Zest and juice of ½ an orange
o Zest and juice of ½ a lime
o Zest and juice of ½ a lemon
o Spices:
§ 1 cinnamon stick
§ 3 cardamom pods
§ ½ tsp coriander seed
§ Pinch star anise seeds
o ¼ cup browning sauce
o 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· Mix:
o Club soda or some other fizzy water
o Ice
Directions:

1. Combine the water, sugar, zest of all three fruits, and spices. Boil over medium-high heat, whisking until the sugar is dissolved.
   
2. Once it’s boiling, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes.
   
3. Once it’s simmered, strain the mixture into the airtight jar. Yes, it’ll be a funny greeny color. Almost like it's radioactive or something. Add the juices from the orange, lemon and lime, the browning sauce, and the vanilla.
   
4. Allow it to cool to ambient room temperature, then refrigerate for 12 hours.
   
5. Should last several weeks.
   

To Serve:

1. Mix with fizzy water at a 4:1 ratio, add ice.

Then get ya some ice cream (I would suggest vanilla, or cookies and cream.. hell, maybe ​both!), pour your new cola in the glass, plop a scoop or so in it, and boom!

Picture this right, it's the era of the galactic empire, you're just a regular person working at a small canteen in the lower levels of Coruscant, your mum used to be a low level smuggler, and taught you how to fly a ship and point a blaster, before she retired, and then passed away, your dad you don't know.
Hardship strikes when your canteen has to close, you're left with no money, high rent, and few opportunities. So you call in some favors from your mums old smuggler buddies. You do a few odd jobs, delivering packages, planting bugs in offices, stealing credit cashes from casinos. You're good at this, you seem to have a sense for when the right time to turn the corner is, when footsteps too quiet for others to hear are approaching, and you have a way of, persuading those seemingly unpersuadable.
Eventually you get wrapped up in a bigger conspiracy, the eye of the empire glances your way and you gotta make a run, you think they know something you're just on the cusp of understanding yourself.
These abilities of yours, you've been focusing on them, you've realized you can do things seemingly impossible, you can nudge things far out of reach, ever so slightly to create a distraction. Somehow when you focus enough, you can mimic sounds in the minds of guards on patrol, causing them to leave their posts to investigate the phantom noise. So there you go, my idea for a stealth game set in the Star wars universe, someone with slight force sensitivity, probably too weak with the force to even be noticed by the Jedi or the Sith, had they not come into their powers seemingly on their own. An improvised, scrappy, but creative and clever use of the Force. Sneaking around in dank Coruscant alleys or sterile imperial corridors, just trying to live and understand themselves.
Direct combat would be heavily unencouraged, and taking out guards would not be easy, especially against the empire when a missing sentry or unanswered rollcall would set off the alarms, but perhaps once our character becomes familiar with their patterns and tech, they can find ways of mimicking guards voices to ease the minds of the officers in the control room. I tried to do it myself, but the quantity of information is horrifying. 😄 My girlfriend has the following setup: x-kom G4M3R 500 R5-2600/8GB/480/W10X/GTX1660.
She plays Sims 4, Diablo 4, Plague Tale, WoW, and Baldur's Gate 3.
I started to analyze her PC after Baldur's Gate was shutting down every 5-15 minutes of gameplay. Also, Diablo 4 runs dramatically - it's either tragically low FPS or ugly as hell (pun not intended). The biggest problem, I think, is the 8GB of RAM - I don't know how I didn't notice that earlier. I checked the prices of new "ready to go" builds, and they seem way better than I think they were two years ago, so I am trying to find the answer to the question below.
Is it better to buy 16GB of RAM, maybe a new GPU, and it should be fine for high-quality 1080p/1440p gaming? Or is it a good time to renew the whole system (because for example the chipset allows DDR4 max)?
Let's say that we have a basic budget about 1400$(USD)/1300€. And we probably can sell the current build for around 250$.
I can see the G4M3R HERO i5-14400F/32GB/1TB/RTX4060 for 1380$. It's better in every aspect and it has enough RAM and twice as big SSD. It will be enough, but the question if for how long. So:
Maybe we should double the budget to 2600$ for this G4M3R HERO PLUS i7-14700KF/32GB/2TB/RTX4070TiS. There is a set with a 3070 Ti Super, which I have heard is the best money-to-quality GPU right now. We can spend more money if that will be justified, like, for example, for more "future-proofing".
I understand that I am comparing a set for $1300 and $2600. So, I will try to outline my situation and the source of my dilemma to make it easier to answer my question. We have enough funds to buy the more expensive set, but I am trying not to blindly believe in the principle that more expensive means better - at least in terms of long-term value for money spent. Hello. I am a college student and I started having seizures few months before I started college. After almost three years of meditation and restrictions I am finally getting much better but I am still very dependent on my medication. I was the straight A high school student but ever since I had my first seizure I’ve been really struggling to take care of myself, study and do much brainwork and I eventually had to transfer to a less prestigious college after failing in my university. Up until now I have been linking my lack of productivity with epilepsy because I wake up already overly stimulated and tired and I feel like I have dementia (?) now because of my epilepsy. University was rough and depressing and I only have one friend. She knows I take medications and visit a neurologist, whom I am skeptical about, every now and then because he is pretty much the only available neurologist I could find. I didn’t tell her that I am epileptic, though. However, my friend told me yesterday that I always complain about my problems but instead of finding the solution, I just put up with everything and do nothing about the situation and confronted me how I tried to stick to my studies and failed, and how I don’t like my neurologist but can’t find a new one. Although it’s true, I was really hurt by her words and I keep thinking about it. I did tell her yesterday that I have my own reasons for everything and how I was hurt although it’s true that I don’t take enough actions to solve my problems. So now I want to know if I’m really just blaming everything on my epilepsy or if I should tell my friend how epilepsy can destroy one’s routine. Thank you for reading until the end. I'm looking to get back into wrestling. I only wrestled a year in high school but i'm getting into shape and looking for a sporting outlet. Does anyone know of a club that might take a 40 y/o that's extremely out of practice?

Hi all, but of background I’m 33 male and have a normal job which is senior technician with BMW which I’ve been doing since leaving school. I’ve 2 children 14 & 7 years old.
I wanted to join the army when I was 18 but girlfriend fell pregnant at the time and felt I shouldn’t leave her and my son until a later date. When I was a teen I was in the local air cadets as something to do on evenings.
I’m now at a place where I feel like I need to give something back and need feel like I have a purpose and it’s not just fixing rich peoples cars everyday so I’m thinking of joining up as a reserve. I’ve no idea just yet or which was to go about any of this, I’ve looked on the army website but it’s a little clunky and hard to navigate to anything certain.
Advice i need is first I’d the reserve a good place to go to get the purpose I desire? Do I first need to tell my current job about this? Or do I join and tell current employer if and when I may need not be there? I live in Sheffield if there’s anyone local that sees this that can give me any pointers or advice.
Also a hard one is having a conversation with my partner about joining, I don’t think she’ll take it well but any experience you’ve had with this I’ll gladly take.

Doing a good job of being seen to expound complete mistruths about access and offline changes. Even Sir Wyn called him out on it.
To say he didn’t write a reports content, nor review it, while coming out under his name, is reprehensible for a manager at his senior level.
This would have been a significant document and it’s statements disseminated widely (at levels below him of whom now may take the rap)

I just read a post that reminded me of this story and thought I would share. For context my Mom is 65 and I love her a lot but she is a born again Christian and a MAGA nut... although unlike most she actually respects me when I told her that her beliefs are not my beliefs and if she tries pushing them on me I will quit talking to her. So we don't discuss religion or politics. Our relationship mostly focuses around football (Chiefs Kingdom!).
Anyway, growing up I was not what you would call a good student. Hated school with a passion, hated homework, rarely did it. Up through middle school it was fine, I did well on tests and generally passed classes with a C, with the exception of math which I actually had to work on and barely passed.
Obviously according to my parents I was lazy, stupid, and just not applying myself. I told them it was boring and I hated doing it and it was stupid because I could pass the tests.
High school rolls around, more of the same. Junior year I learn I can leave the school at lunch and they will not notify my parents. Hard to pass when you aren't actually there so I failed most of my classes that year. Due to this I had to take extra classes my senior year so I could graduate with my class.
3 extra classes both semesters. These were all college level classes. I spent my senior year an honor roll student. School was actually a challenge now.
Before the school year started my Mom told me that if she was going to pay for the extra classes then I had better apply myself. I said okay, and I did. Halfway through the school year she looks at me and out of nowhere asks "Are you gay?". I look at her gob smacked and tell her no and ask why. Her reasoning was that I didn't go out with any of my female friends any more and I only hung out with a male friend who rode to a night class with me.
So that was bad enough. Cut to earlier this year we were talking about that period of time and I brought up her asking if I was gay. She now swears that never happened. Even with my sister backing me up because she was there my Mom swears up and down she never thought I was gay and never asked that.
According to her I also don't have ADHD, I'm not bi-polar, it's my fault I deal with depression. She does however agree that I have PTSD from my first marriage.
I love her but sometimes I just have to shake my head.
