| to the british lady i sat next to tonight in section 126 and kept asking me questions since im guessing you were new to baseball and i politely responded to your questions, fuck you for stealing my ball. i had brought 2 to try and get signed and had one ball in the cup holder since i didnt have a bag to put it in. after matos got the walk off, i see you and your husband rush out of there and think nothing of it since im guessing yall wanted to beat traffic. after it died down and people behan to leave, i look down and see the ball was missing. sure i was stupid to put it in the cupholder but i had grabbed the ball multiple times with you next to me and i was juggling it in my hand. major league balls are expensive to buy on its own, so it will be expensive to replace it if im not lucky enough to get one at a game, so was it worth it to steal a ball from a 15 year old? (picture is a screenshot from a video i was recording, its not the best because i try to be nice with people sitting next to me at games and not show their face) submitted by DJWolfie101 to SFGiants [link] [comments] |
2024.05.29 09:09 Rude_Willingness8912 The Real Truth of the RFK assassination.
The original story of the death of RFK is shrouded with cover-up, lies, and corruption. This is a collection of evidence I’ve gathered that proves beyond a reasonable doubt a conspiracy to kill Robert F. Kennedy.
The bullet that killed RFK was fired from his right backside at an upward angle, and no witness in the vicinity said Sirhan was closer than 3-4 feet, with most saying around 6 feet. The way Kennedy was standing, facing Sirhan, makes it impossible for Sirhan to have shot him in that manner. witnesses stated the gunfire sounded like a machine gun, and said they had a hard time believing it was from one gun. The medical evidence, meticulously documented by Dr. Thomas Noguchi, the coroner who conducted the autopsy, showed that the fatal shots came from behind and 1 inch away, this automatically shows that Sirhan couldn’t have shot Robert Kennedy, but this is only the first thing. Dr. Noguchi, wrote a book on it calling it the perfect autopsy because it was. He was supervised by lots of different professional experts in autopsies. He saw what happened to JFK's body by the government and media, They didn't allow him to testify in the trial and then they ran a smear campaign against him for saying the bullets came from back right and upwards. He was then fired from his job.
Sirhan fired two bullets, one hitting a man and another hitting a frame behind RFK. He was then abruptly subdued and fired six more shots, which are all accounted for, hitting five different people, with two shots lodging in the ceiling panel and one in the frame. That gives us eight shots not accounting for the four that hit RFK. How is this possible with an eight-shot revolver? It's not. Audio recordings of the shooting have been examined by multiple experts, who concluded that 10-12 shots were fired.
The LAPD tampered with evidence; they removed the frame that clearly had a bullet, as well as the ceiling panels that were hit. This is supported by witness testimony and photographic evidence. The LAPD later stated that the evidence was taking up too much space—a flimsy excuse to blatantly cover up and hide the facts. Former FBI agent William Bailey supported the evidence of bullet holes in the doorways, remembering two bullets in the doorframe and FBI photos proving this. In addition, 20 FBI officers reported seeing bullet fragments or bullet holes in the doorframe.
Sirhan was not given a fair trial. His mother recalls Sirhan asking the judge for a new lawyer and being told to sit down or he would be tied down. His lawyer decided to fight on the basis that Sirhan was mentally ill and in a hypnotic trance, and did not even try to dispute the evidence. For example, the gun that was allegedly used in the shooting was examined by a ballistics expert who stated it was the same gun that killed RFK, even though the serial numbers of the gun he tested and Sirhan's gun didn't match up. Not only did this prove the expert was willing to lie, also destroys the credibility of the LAPD investigation. There was also no chain of custody, which in a real trial would be inadmissible.
They bullied and intimidated a witness Sandra Serrano who claimed a woman in a polka dot dress and a man ran out on the stairs saying, "We killed him, we killed him." They bullied her on tape, making her change her story. Many other people recall seeing and talking to this polka-dot dress girl. Also, a police officer named Paul Shrager got told by a witness that the Polka-dot lady ran past with a man them saying we killed him, Paul later saw in a news report they changed what he said to They killed him. The LAPD claimed they found the polka-dot lady, but it was another person in a green dress, blonde, with crutches, who looked nothing like the person described by witnesses. David Morales, who pressured Sandra Serrano into changing her story about the polka dot lady, was known to have administered tests in South America, Vietnam, and other countries, suggesting ties to the CIA. Morales, drunk, bragged to friends, "I was in Dallas when we got that motherfucker, and I was in Los Angeles when we got the little bastard." He had a history of involvement in CIA operations on foreign soil, including a test on Venezuelan dictator Pérez Jiménez during a government transition.
Scott Enyart was taking pictures in the pantry where Kennedy was killed. He says he loaded and clicked off his third roll of film. He claims that later, during the night of the shooting, police officers chased him down and confiscated his camera and film. He later tried to get this back 6 months later but the police denied ever knowing about it until he contacted his lawyer, who got him 26 out of 36 film. In the missing film was pictures during the shooting more interesting Scott was right behind Thane Eugene Caesar, showing these pictures would show there was no conspiracy, but no the LAPD destroyed them . This was a very weird thing to do. Later, Scott sued, and a Los Angeles jury awarded Enyart $465,000 in his claim against the city. The jury believed that Enyart was in the pantry when Kennedy was shot and that he took three rolls of film. The city was found to be negligent in returning the photographs that the police had confiscated. The photographs have never been found. This is not the only two incidences in the LAPD destroyed 2,400 pieces of evidence as well as Scott Enyart photos 3 weeks before Sirhan's trial.
In addition, Sirhan used to hypnotize himself Sirhan received letters and payments from the Ancient Mystical Order of the Rose Cross. He was known to be the easiest type of person to hypnotize. He be hypnotized to climb the bars of his cell During the trial, psychiatrist Bernard Diamond hypnotized Sirhan, told him he was a monkey, and Sirhan started swinging from the bars of his jail cell and acting like a monkey. Bernard Diamond was a very shady UCLA professor who many believe was one of the main MKULTRA hypnotizers used by the govt. Under hypnosis, he wrote the same things found in his notepad at home: "RFK must die, die." suggesting he wrote in a trance these writings are eerily similar to what he wrote while under hypnosis. William Bryan, a CIA MKULTRA primary researcher and an expert in hypnotism, claimed you could brainwash a person to do almost anything. He allegedly bragged about programming Sirhan and deprogramming Albert DeSalvo, "the Boston Strangler." Sirhan's diary also mentions mind control, aswell as Sirhan writing, "God help me, please help me, Salvo di DeSalvo." Could this be a link between a known CIA hypnotist and Sirhan.
Sirhan was led to a dark place by a woman after drinking coffee with her. He last remembers feeling drowsy and disoriented. He found himself lying on a table, and then he felt someone choking him. This strange and disjointed memory suggests that Sirhan may have been drugged or kidnapped before the Assassination.
Sirhan, easily manipulated through hypnotic techniques and possibly drugged, might have been an easy target for such a conspiracy. His behavior after the arrest was strange, as if he were in a trance. He was described by witnesses as having an empty look, almost as if he were devoid of emotion or awareness of his surroundings. This is consistent with reports of individuals under deep hypnosis.
So after all this, you may ask who did it? It was Eugene Thane Caesar and the polka-dot dress girl. This is the evidence: Thane Caesar was a last-minute replacement as Kennedy’s body guard couldn't show up that day. the kitchen was constantly unguarded, and a Kennedy staffer said she had to keep getting people out of the kitchen, the person to guard the kitchen door was Thane Eugene Caesar, this is where Sirhan would’ve come from and was seen standing there before the shooting. Eugene was standing in the exact position someone would have had to be in to fire the fatal shot. A man and a woman claimed to see a security guard fire shots at Sirhan, and a witness said this in an interview immediately after the shooting. RFK's last conscious action was ripping Eugene's tie off—why would he do that? It could be dismissed as accidental if, and it's a big if, there wasn't an incompetent investigation by the LAPD on a second shooter, or why they didn't take Eugene's gun that he had on the night and didn't interview him for a year.
In that interview, he said he had a .22 same used in the shooting, which he sold before the shooting. This was confirmed to be false as there is a receipt showing he sold it months after to another man. Why would he lie about this? The LAPD said there were no right-wingers there on the night of the killing but guess who was our good friend Eugene. He said in an interview he didn't like Kennedy and was a Republican. Just a bit weird. Eugene was leading RFK down this route as the other path was deemed too crowded or unsafe in a last minute change. To clarify, Eugene was not the only one holding on to Kennedy. Eugene was a very weird person who had a top-secret clearance at Lockheed but was working as a security guard just doesn't make sense.
Also the court granted Thane Caesars wish not to testify.
How do you know this polka-dot lady was involved? Two witnesses stated she was saying, "We killed him, killed him." She was also seen trying to buy a gun and ammo with Sirhan and another man, and there is proof of the sale. in total, she was seen by 10 different people at the Ambassador Hotel.
So why would Sirhan do this? MKULTRA. Sirhan Sirhan was working as a horse trainer or whatever. He never rode horses, but one day he did and he got concussed. He was recorded as going into a Naval hospital for 1 hour and discharged. Sirhan states that he was there for weeks. After the fall, everyone who knew Sirhan said he was different after that fall. Sirhan disappeared for 3 months before the assassination as well, his mother stated.
“On a foggy morning on Sept. 25, 1966, Sirhan fell from a mare named Hy-Vera. “Sirhan was thrown against a metal post, where he lay crumpled, crying and bleeding,” wrote James McKinley. Sirhan later received a $2,000 settlement over the incident.”
Declassified documents have revealed that the CIA was actively monitoring Robert F. Kennedy and had operatives present at the Ambassador Hotel on the night of his assassination. Investigative journalist Shane O'Sullivan's research highlighted the presence of three men identified as former CIA operatives at the hotel, raising questions about their role and purpose that night. These operatives, including George Joannides, David Morales, and Gordon Campbell, were all connected to various covert CIA activities.
Lieutenant Manuel Peña, a key figure in charge of the investigation, left the LAPD shortly before the assassination to work in South America for the Agency for International Development (USAID), a widely known CIA front. Shortly before the assassination, he came back to the LAPD and was given command of the Special Division Investigation Squad in charge of conspiracies.
The possible involvement of the CIA and other intelligence agencies cannot be dismissed. The chaotic political climate of the 1960s, marked by the assassinations of major political figures like JFK, MLK, and RFK, The CIA, known for its covert operations and psychological experiments, had the means and motive to conduct such an operation.
Eugene Thane Cesar's role remains suspicious. He was in the perfect position to fire the fatal shots, and his conflicting statements about his firearm ownership add to the suspicion. Cesar's background with top-secret clearance at Lockheed and his animosity towards Kennedy suggest a deeper involvement. His presence in the pantry and the physical evidence pointing to shots fired from his location make him a prime suspect.
The polka dot dress woman remains a mysterious figure. Witnesses consistently reported her presence and her suspicious behavior. Her alleged statements about "killing him" and attempts to purchase firearms with Sirhan indicate her involvement in the conspiracy. Despite the LAPD's efforts to discredit witnesses and dismiss their accounts, the consistency of their testimonies cannot be ignored.
The destruction and tampering of evidence by the LAPD and FBI further deepen the conspiracy. The removal of door frames, ceiling panels, and the disappearance of crucial photographs suggest an intentional cover-up. Scott Enyart's case exemplifies the mishandling of evidence. His missing photographs, which could have provided critical insights into the events in the pantry.
In 1992, a petition to the grand jury requested the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the LAPD, signed by many figures, with 800 pages of evidence showing the LAPD destroying and falsifying evidence. Notable signatories included RFK assassination researchers rights activists, and legal experts. The petition outlined numerous instances of evidence tampering, witness intimidation, and procedural irregularities surrounding the investigation into RFK's assassination. It argued that a special prosecutor was necessary to conduct an impartial and thorough investigation into the LAPD's handling of the case, given the gravity of the allegations and the implications for justice and accountability. Despite the compelling evidence presented in the petition, no special prosecutor was appointed.
The involvement of intelligence agencies, the manipulation of evidence, the intimidation of witnesses, and the use of hypnotic techniques on Sirhan paint a picture of a complex and deep conspiracy. The possibility of mind control, as seen in the MKULTRA experiments, aligns with Sirhan's behaviour and writings. The presence of a second shooter, likely Eugene Thane Cesar, and the mysterious polka dot dress woman, make me believe beyond a reasonable doubt that Sirhan did not Kill Robert F. Kennedy alone.
TL;DR In conclusion, the evidence suggests that the parts of CIA, the LAPD, Eugene Thane Cesar, and the polka dot dress lady were part of a conspiracy to assassinate Robert F. Kennedy. The deliberate destruction of evidence, the manipulation of Sirhan through hypnosis, and the suspicious activities of key figures involved in the case point to a coordinated effort to eliminate Kennedy. The official narrative does not hold up against the substantial evidence of a second shooter and the involvement of intelligence agencies. After looking at all this evidence, no person could conclude any differently.

2024.05.29 09:06 americanyankman I made an company email, it didn't work so I abandoned it, now it seems to have become my main email (Gmail)
I made it. I couldnt receive emails with it, so I abandoned it.
Today, I was sent a Google form to fill out which required sign into gmail and it was the company email, no longer my personal email. If i signed into my personal email (@hotmail.com in the picture) when I did so, it would be the company email.
Anyone know how to eradicate all traces of company email? If I go to delete it in settings, it seems like it will delete my main account?
I'm very confused, they seem to be fused together?

2024.05.29 09:04 GoldRetirePro A Look at Augusta Precious Metals Through Their BBB Reviews
I recently came across the Better Business Bureau page for Augusta Precious Metals and was impressed by their large number of positive reviews. I decided to take a closer look at what customers are saying, how Augusta responds, and share my overall take on the company.
Let's start with some highly positive reviews:
Review from Kay N (5 stars) on 05/03/2024: "We have recently decided to invest in precious metals and reviewed and investigated many companies. Augusta Precious Metals was the only one who provided an online learning tool for prospective clients. It was in depth and answered our questions as well as educated us on the process... I would 100% recommend Augusta Precious Metals to anyone considering diversifying their *** with precious metals. They do not rely on gimmicks or incentives to sell their company just honesty and putting the client first."
Augusta's Response on 05/17/2024: "I'm thrilled to hear about your positive experience with our team, ***. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your story. As you know, helping people get the information they need and making the process smooth are our greatest goals. It's gratifying to know that it's working for the benefit of our customers. We look forward to being there for you over the entire lifetime of your account."
My Take: Kay's review highlights several key strengths of Augusta - their focus on client education, lack of sales gimmicks/pressure, and putting clients first. It's great to see Augusta's CEO personally respond, emphasizing their commitment to helping customers for the lifetime of their account. This level of service is impressive.
Review from Tracie C (4 stars) on 05/03/2023: "I already know Augusta is one of the top companies for precious metal backed ****** I am trying to narrow down which company to go with. They couldn't answer any of my specific questions, re: price over spot for metals, buyback price, procedure for cashing out some or all, procedure for receiving metals from the **** All of that info is available post signing up. Not, buying without that info up front. Other companies do give price over spot for purchase as well as price over spot when selling."
My Take: Tracie raises a valid concern about not getting specific pricing info upfront. While Augusta aims to educate first, it would be better if they could provide general ranges on markups/buybacks before someone signs up. However, Tracie still rates them 4-stars and considers them a top company, so they must be doing a lot right. It would be good for Augusta to consider if they can share any of these details earlier.
Review from Alex M (5 stars) on 08/20/2023: "Augusta Precious Metals is top notch. Everyone that contacted me was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable...Setting up my *** and purchasing the precious metals took less than two weeks, which is exceptional considering the process!"
Augusta's Response on 08/30/2023: "****, thank you very much for posting this awesome review of our team. We appreciate you and look forward to serving as your personal resource during the entire life of your account with us."
My Take: Alex's review shows that Augusta excels at guiding people through the *** set-up process efficiently, with great service throughout. A less than 2-week turnaround is very fast for this. Augusta's response reinforces how much they value being a lifelong resource for customers.
Overall, in reviewing dozens of Augusta's BBB reviews and responses, I'm impressed by their consistency in delivering knowledgeable, low-pressure service aimed at educating customers. While no company is perfect, Augusta seems to truly care about helping people understand precious metals investing and serving them well for the long haul. The personal responses from their CEO to nearly every review shows how much they value customer feedback and relationships.
Although there was one critique about not getting specific price info upfront, that customer still gave 4-stars and felt they are a top company. Perhaps Augusta could look for ways to provide general ranges earlier in the process.
But overall, I believe Augusta's reviews paint a picture of a company with high integrity that goes above and beyond in customer education and service. For anyone considering precious metals investing, they seem to be a trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring long-term partner. You can
check their website for more information.

2024.05.29 09:04 BOfficeStats Domestic BOT Presale Tracking (May 28). Thursday Comps: Haikyu!! ($0.91M), Bad Boys: Ride or Die ($3.47M THU, $5.34M EA+THU), The Watchers ($1.00M), Inside Out 2 ($7.63M), and Deadpool and Wolverine ($30.46M).
BoxOfficeTheory Presale Tracking USA Showtimes As of May 17 - katnisscinnaplex showtimes (I've been meaning to look at shows since I wasn't able to run it last week. It looks like all of the releases this week are fairly limited. Here's what I am seeing listed so far, which is probably ~90% of final (I think...I don't usually run on Wednesday): In a Violent Nature - 440 TC (plus ~200 early shows), Summer Camp - 653 TC, Ezra - 617 TC and Haikyu - 816 TC (May 28).)
Presales Data (Google Sheets Link) BoxOfficeReport Previews DOMESTIC PRESALES Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle Average THU Comp: $0.91M - abracadabra1998 ($1.00M THU comp. No movement, probs looking at around $1 Million previews (May 28). Not bad, not bad (May 27).)
- Flip (Looking at some theaters near me, Haikyu is outselling Spy x Family (May 20).)
- katnisscinnaplex ($0.81M THU comp.)
- Rorschach (These numbers seem pretty damn good. Will echo @abracadabra1998's $1 mil previews prediction (May 28).)
In a Violent Nature - el sid (Had also only showtimes in 4 of the 7 theaters but already 123 sold tickets. So where it gets shows, it does fine. Loose comps, all counted on Monday of the release week for Thursday: Tarot (715k from previews) had 97 sold tickets in 5 theaters, The Invitation (775k from previews) had 96 in 7 theaters, Pearl (1.3M OD) had 102 sold tickets in 6 theaters and The Strangers: Chapter One (1.2M from previews) had 215 sold tickets in 6 theaters (May 28).)
- katnisscinnaplex ($0.57M EA+THU comp.)
- Rorschach ($0.91M THU+FRI comp.
Summer Camp - el sid (Has shows in 3 of my 7 theaters and had not more than 7 sold tickets. So so far completely under the radar. Comp: Book Club 2 (6.7M OW) had also on Monday for Thursday 25 sold tickets in 5 theaters (May 28).)
Young Woman and the Sea - JonathanMB (I just checked showtimes near me, and in the entire Chicago suburbs it looks like it's only in 5-7 theaters for Friday. Also randomly enough it has a couple of showtimes today at 3pm at some random AMCs? Looks like they're 30-50% full (May 27).)
Bad Boys: Ride or Die Average Thursday / EA+Thursday comp: $3.47M/$5.34M - abracadabra1998 (Comp: $2.61M THU. All these comps had been on sale for longer, so those will go up, with the exception of Civil War, which went on sale at T-18 so that'll go down. Feels like a walk-up movie so it's hard to find good comps (May 19). Numbers are from last THU, as per my post this morning. This is a more walk-up movie a la Aquaman or Apes so I think it's a pretty good start (May 18). Pretty good start for it honestly (May 16).)
- el sid (Counted yesterday for Thursday had 395 sold tickets with shows in 6 theaters (the small AMC Lakeline in Texas is still missing). 10 days left. Bad Boys for Life (6.36M from previews) had on Monday of the release week 915 sold tickets = 43% at the moment for Bad Boys 4 with 7 days left to come closer or maybe overtake. My guess is that BB4 could have 800-1000k tickets by next Monday, so it could be pretty much on par with BBfL. Similar to other reports here: BB4 does not have stellar presales and after several disappointments I shouldn't exaggerate but compared to the best comps it looks quite good for BB4 as you can see (May 28).)
- Flip (Decided to add one more theater but there was good growth in both of the original two (May 27).)
- katnisscinnaplex (Comp: $5.34M EA+THU.)
- keysersoze123 (Presales are again not that much at this point. I think its not going to hit the heights of last movie (May 28). It should start to amp up sometime this week (May 27). This wont be fan driven. Even the last one initially trailed Dr Do little in presales but amped up big time close to release. This will be a late bloomer. I am still expecting 50m+ OW (May 23).)
- TheFlatLannister (Comp: $5.11M THU. Steady pace, no acceleration yet. Switch to G x K since that had super strong walkups ($6.12M THU comp) and Bad Boys 4 will likely replicate this (May 27). Comps ($4.11M) would mean $40M+ Opening Weekend (May 24). Well, this is a pretty good start (May 17).)
- TwoMisfits (Aging male-skewing franchises tend to get the biggest bump from this deal. Folks are on the fence but know what they are getting. Female skewing non-sequel ones tend to get zero help. You need baseline interest to get people willing to pay anything, b/c these still are $5. The other effect of the deal is that movies releasing around the $5 hits sometimes get hurt. June TMobile $5 Atom movie. This could help it go huge, like last year's Spider-Verse (May 22).)
- vafrow (Comp: $2.7M THU. It's staying pretty flat (May 28). Zero sales day when all comps seemed to have done well. Not a great result. Note: This isn't a holiday weekend in Canada, so that doesn't explain the slow sales. Hopefully it's just an anomaly. This has been very steady to date (May 27). Ghostbusters and Apes both went up in comps, but I didn't have Hunger Games included, so it's brought the average down. Still, its growing at a steady pace (May 26). I still expect this to be more walk up friendly than the comps being used, and should see a gradual rise as the date gets closer (May 25). Nothing of note here. Staying steady. Will probably pick up only in the final week (May 20). Comps are not the greatest. One, surprisingly hard to find a comparable film with similar start on sales. Plus, I think ticket buying patterns have changed pretty drastically in my market over the last few months. Very little up front sales compared to late 2023. Dune was the exception (May 17).)
- YM! (Like IO2 the pace for Bad Boys is small but mighty. EA is only available at Majestic much like Garfield. With EA, it’s a few tickets shy of Furiosa’s T-6 but without them it’s only a bit over half. Either way both is really good. I think we’ll continue to see the gap grow over the week but as of rn, I am thinking around $6-7m previews without EA solely on vibes to an OW north of $55m (May 25). Same thing as IO2 for Bad Boys (see May 23 IO2 comment), I expect this to not only skew more GA friendly and should bulk up ticket sales as we get closer to release. It’s almost at half of Furiosa’s T-6 which is a pretty great thing. Should easily outdo it by T-6 imho (May 23). Again, another solid start-ish. I expect Bad Boys to have the most diverse audience. Can't really predict much on previews but I am feeling confident in the 55-60m OW range for the past few weeks (May 17).)
The Watchers Average Thursday Comp: $1.00M - filmlover (Hasn't sold anything near me (May 26).)
- Flip (These are good numbers considering it’s only playing in 2/3 theaters I track (May 28).)
- katnisscinnaplex ($1.00M THU Comp.)
The Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Re-Releases (June 8-10) - BoxOfficePro (Fathom Events has also announced that select Regal Cinemas will present the films in 4DX on June 22/23/24 for Fellowship/Towers/Return respectively (May 14).)
- AnthonyJPHer (Fellowship of the Ring (269 tickets, 6 showtimes, 4 theaters) on Saturday, June 8, 2024 and Saturday, June 15, 2024 (21 tickets, 4 showings, 4 theaters). The Two Towers (243 tickets, 4 theaters) Saturday, June 9, 2024 and Saturday, June 16, 2024 (22 tickets, 4 showings, 4 theaters). Return of the King (281 tickets, 4 theaters) for Saturday, June 10, 2024 and Saturday, June 17, 2024 (16 tickets, 4 showings, 4 theaters). 852 tickets sold in total. 793 tickets sold for the first week. 59 tickets sold for the second week (May 28).)
- katnisscinnaplex (Up to ~1,400 shows now with new locations picking it up and others adding a second showing. LotR1 has sold 831 seats OD, LotR2 sold 715 seats OD, and LotR3 sold 735 seats OD. For comparison, Phantom Menace didn't break 800 tickets until T-3 and we're still over a month out. JW3 comp is currently around 9m (it was at 1,670 tickets sold at this point!) (May 6).)
Inside Out 2 Average Thursday Comp: $7.63M - abracadabra1998 (Comp: $3.98M THU. Good update, hopefully this keeps on rising (May 23). Not impressed at all so far here sadly (May 19). Holy numbers of shows and seats! Multiplexes are really expecting a lot here. Sales off the bat not amazing here (May 15).)
- AniNate (Finally a little movement here. 23 Thursday, 52 Fri-Sun (compared to 18 THU and 23 FRI-SUN on May 17) (May 22). Safe to say the fan rush has ended, and it might not be immediately on casual family and radar when they're making memorial Day plans and there are two other kids movies out or about to be out (May 19).It is encouraging that Canton is already giving me something to work with with 12 THU preview sales. Same number for Fri-Sun. I do see nine sales for first THU at Canton now and I think that's a pretty solid start (May 15).)
- AnthonyJPHer (Some growth for THU, not bad but I expect sales to increase steadily as we get closer to release day. The presales are good enough to not be a disaster like Garfield, but not big enough to guarantee a 100m opening. I still like what I’m seeing though. As my local theater has finally shown some signs of life with this film. 5 tickets sold. Way better than Garfield at the same point. The numbers might not be completely accurate, but it’s looking extremely strong for Friday. 900 tickets for the five theaters I track. Maybe even 1,286 tickets if my numbers are accurate. That tells me this is not front loaded whatsoever. Or at the very least not preview heavy (May 27). Out of the 4 tracked theaters, there is at least 774 tickets sold out of 1000+ seats. Blown Garfield out of the water (~200 tickets from the theaters I tracked). At least 3 sold out (or close to sold out) showings for Inside Out 2. Looking good for Inside Out 2. Of course this might just be fan surge and all. I was looking at the THU previews in a theater near me. There is an almost completely sold out showing. Out of 195 seats, 175 were sold. Where I live there seems to be real interest. I counted about more than 400 tickets sold on THU for theaters near me, kind of shocked me (May 19).)
- charlie Jatinder (Comp: $12.33M THU at MTC2. Moving along nicely (May 21).)
- Flip (Decided to add one more theater but there was good growth in both of the original two (May 27). Fan event on the 16th has 43 tickets sold from 2 showtimes (compared to 8 showtimes and 73 tickets sold for previews), so that might be depressing previews a bit.)
- katnisscinnaplex (Comp: $6.37M THU. Early sales haven't been there lately except for the extreme fans. $12.27M Mario comp (May 18). At 180 shows for previews in my areas and still has a few theaters left to post. Godzilla x Kong finished with 197, Kingdom of Apes 190, and Kung Fu Panda 205 (May 14).)
- keysersoze123 (If you compare this to any animation movies seen recently including Minions, its doing very well. Really good this far out for sure (May 25). Chugging along at this point (May 19). Show counts show Plexes are expecting a big OW. I dont remember when we last had a animation movie start with so many shows. I wont count Mario as that was a fan driven movie. Definitely not great presales but this is not a fan driven movie. Let us see where things are in the final week (May 15). Families dont book tickets on weekday mornings. Wait until evening today to judge it. From a release perspective, easily the biggest for any animated movie in a long time. Only movie which is not comparable is Mario but that was not just a family flick (May 14).)
- Porthos (BAD COMPS: $8.96M THU. I don't agree with the undertone of concern when it comes to ticket sales for IO2. They seem perfectly fine to me, maybe even somewhat strong. It just isn't selling like a frontloaded CBM/fan driven franchise (even when adjusting for animation). So I suppose it really comes down to how much we think this will still act like a traditional kids animation film when it comes to buying pattern, how much demand has been burnt off, and how many people are still going to buy tickets but see no particular need to buy them early. Which I suppose really can't be answered until we get close to the time when kids animation films typically accelerate. But, I keep looking at the sales in Sacramento and not seeing much cause for concern. Yet, at any rate (May 25). Decided to add Nope ($12.62M) to the comp block. Not because I think it's a particularly good one (the ATP differences alone are a major red flag), but more for pace considerations considering how similar horror and kids animation are when it comes to being backloaded. The other consideration with Nope is that it was on sale for nearly two weeks longer, so it did have a small amount of extra time to pad some seats sold. But maybe the errors (ATP vs length of pre-sale) will cancel each other out. PROBABLY NOT! But the pace at the very least should be interesting (May 25). 10.0% Matinee sales, 5.3% 3D sales and 42.2% PLF sales. (May 19). Strange pre-sale pattern. Was there some sort of promo that dropped today? Either way, just a great day (for this type of movie at this point in pre-sales) (May 17). Fairly strong day. Was concentrated at a couple of theaters (May 16). I do not have good comps, especially for D1. 5.45946x Elemental on D1 [13.10m]. Will it be as backloaded as Elemental? It's tough to sell 5.5x times the amount of tickets on the final couple of days, so perhaps not. But it does show how backloaded purely kids animation is. Sonic 2 comp is perhaps a little concerning. On the other hand, nearly a weeks more of pre-sales. Of presales, 3.5% are 3D and 40.1% are PLF (May 15). On the SAT of release weekend (NOT EA) there is a special event screening for IO2: INSIDE OUT 2: FUNKO FAMILY EVENT! (2024) Sat June 15th. Might boost OW slightly depending on how wide this event is and how much more these tickets will presumably cost (May 11).)
- TheFlatLannister (Comp: $8.52M THU Florida and $7.57M THU Orlando Comp.)Excellent pace this far out. Does feel like something big is around the corner (May 27). Definitely the biggest rollout in showings since I've started tracking Florida. Bigger than even Dune 2 and it's only T-26 (May 18). This is a super super strong day 2. Probably just Orlando overindexing, but yeah starting to lean towards something big brewing. Florida presales are somehow even crazier. Sold 2357 seats and is getting a blockbuster rollout in terms of showing allocations. Kung Fu panda comp day 2: gives me $8.50M (May 15). Well, I can't really tell if this is a breakout or not yet. Looks very good especially in the first few hours. These are probably terrible comps, but might as well try something (May 14).)
- TwoMisfits (I'm kinda shocked at the opening set from my Cinemarks... 2 screens (1 PLF, 1 not) and 6 showings at my PLF 14 for THU (and 11 showings on the same screens once it runs full day - 7 PLF b/c 1 is 3d on the reg screen, 4 not)... 3 screens (.75 3d, 2.25 not) and 9 showings at the non-PLF 12 for THU (and 12 showings on 2.25 screens once it runs full day)... So, 2 and 2.25 screens for the weekend presale sets... Disney must be charging a huge % for themselves b/c this is an Elemental opening set at my PLF...a little more generous for THU at my non-PLF, but then they too drop to an Elemental opening set after the adult Disney base THU rush... (May 14).)
- vafrow (Comp: $5.6M THU. It's starting to grow (May 25). I'm surprised this hasn't been stronger. At this stage, I don't expect we'll see much activity until final week (May 19). No new sales. Whatever glitches in the system on day 1 didn't push sales to day 2. I still think the lack of base ticket options will push families to wait. Cineplex has jacked up the cost of PLFs, plus they're throwing in an increase for opening weekend of major releases. It adds up quickly for families (May 16). With the site glitching yesterday, it might account for the slow start. But, what's interesting is the format breakdown. Nothing is being made available in anything close to a regular showtime. The one non 3D showing in Dolby is a matinee showing. Everything else is carrying a hefty premium. They'll likely release regular showtimes closer to release, but right now, it's priced to get eager fans to pay the PLFs (May 15).)
- YM! (Did a bit of quick math in following some comparisons for IO2 using Keysersoze123's earlier MTC1 data out of boredom again and pace is pretty good, 6.74M average THU comp. The same caveats apply (IO2 should have higher ATP than the other animations due to skew somewhat older and having PLFs but having lower ATP than TLM as that skews older and likely has more of audience to buy upfront, and Wish being on Discount Tuesday muddies things up) but the important thing is that pace healthy and gainer ground against its comparisons. Feel like tracking is right on the money of 75-85m OW but could grow stronger if pace continues strong and reviews are strong (May 26). The pace is moving nicely as we have about two and a half weeks left. Think there’s potential for ticket count pace to grow strongly. I have no comparisons but it is at Garfield’s EA-less T-3 ticket sales. Going to probably not say much on preview predictions but my thoughts of an OW in between 75m-100m still stand. Not much to make of things until we get to around 2 weeks for rudimentary guessing and opening week for figuring things out (May 25). Little has changed as IO2 keeps on trucking along. I do theorize at least from the 250 ticket selling Funko Event, it’s plausible families and fans went for that date instead of Thursday night previews. Not much to make of things until we get to around 2 weeks for rudimentary guessing and opening week for figuring things out. At the very least, I like that it doubled its previous sales a week ago as it shows pace and outdid Garfield’s T-6 (May 23). Did some snooping around for the Funko Event as I was curious if perhaps families getting presales for the opening Saturday vs opening Thursday as those sales are kind of weak Thursday and uhm it’s at 250 tickets. Which is like 5 times Garfield’s EA showing of 50 tickets all at PLF prices despite normal theaters. Most of which at 9:30 AM with only one theater having it at 11:00 AM (May 22). Based on keysoze123's Elemental, Wish, Little Mermaid, and Kung Fu Panda 4 preview data, $5.66M THU comp and $22.2M FRI comp. Not a fan of the average comp (Disney has underperformed at MTC2 so not within history to rely on it overperforming like KFP4 and IF) but really like the True FRI although it is very inconsistent. Not sure if IO2 would jump that high from the THU average. However, there’s a lot of variable since: 1. TLM should skew more towards young adults than families by nature which should make ATP higher. 2. IO2 should and does have a higher ATP than either Wish, KFP4 or Elemental due to total PLF control and presumably skews a bit older. 3. Wish was on Discount TUES so that should muddy up the comparisons. 4. The comparisons apart from Elemental are either days before or days behind. 5. Both Wish and KFP4 opened outside the summer season so internal multiplier will be different (especially with Wish’s five day) due to how summer and fall have entirely different natures in walkups which leaves just TLM/Elemental as viable comparisons. It does show that IO2 should at least open above 65m? (May 20). Seems IO2 is playing more like a kid's animation than a family event. Pretty solid for what it is. Majestic is healthy and about 66% of Garfield T-6. Thinking anywhere from 75m-100m OW rn (May 17). Only been an hour but yeah sales are softer than I expected. However, it is a month out and will largely skew more towards kids than say TLM/Across so wasn't expecting a blitz like them. Here at Marcus theaters are going all out for IO2 with it having the lion share of PLFs with it getting both screens when there is two PLFs with tentpole like levels of screens (May 14).)
The Bikeriders - Pinacolada (Actually sold some around me. It does seem like Focus is giving it kind of a shitty release though. Small screens. Definitely no PLFs, which 20th Century Studios was gonna get it Dolby back when they had it. There's 3 theaters really near me. Only 1 of them has this on sale as of now, though the other 2 theaters may come later? (May 26).)
Deadpool and Wolverine Average Thursday Comp using TheFlatLannister's Dune2+GOTG3 comp: $30.46M - AMC ("Some 200,000 movie fans have bought their AMC tickets already. This is more Day 1 ticket sales at AMC than for any other R-rated movie ever." Insiders tell The Hollywood Reporter that first-day sales are likely around $8 million to $9 million if extrapolating the 200,000 stat cited by Aron (May 22).)
- DEADLINE (Already heating up eight weeks before its debut, having already collected some $8M in first day ticket sales. $8M is pretty remarkable for an R-rated movie two months before release. While there are no direct comps on Deadpool & Wolverine ticket sales in post-Covid history, its current cash bests the 24-hour advance ticket sales of The Batman ($6.5M), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ($6M) and John Wick: Chapter 4 ($1.4M). The Batman and GOTG3 opened to respective 3-day weekends of $134M and $118.4M (May 22).)
- FANDANGO (Broke Fandango’s best first-day ticket sales record for 2024. Best first-day pre-seller from the Deadpool franchise (May 21).)
- abracadabra1998 (Day 1/2 Comps (not serious ones): $25.82M/$28.14M THU. Pretty damn great day 2!(May 21).)
- AniNate (THU sales still largely biased towards primetime evening showings. There may be FOMO but not enough for people to take off work early. Good lord already 80+ THU previews sold for Deadpool at Canton (May 20).)
- AnthonyJPHer (Extremely strong growth from OD for Thursday. We have a monster on our hands here people. Buuut. Let me temper the excitement somewhat. The Friday numbers are good, stronger than Inside Out 2 by a considerable margin. However Inside Out 2 is looking very backloaded. This is looking extremely presales heavy right now. Much more than IO2’s 1,200 tickets for Friday. But here lies the problem. There is only 122 tickets separating Thursday and Friday for Deadpool and Wolverine, and for IO2, there is 500 tickets between the two days for that movie. This far out I’m not freaking out. I think the gap will increase. It just alarmed me a little. I still think it’s going to be massive though. Just a word of caution (May 28). Off to a hot start! At my theater in my town, there has been 8 tickets sold. That sounds low but it’s actually a lot, especially this far out and because Inside Out 2 hasn’t sold any tickets at my theater yet. Looking more broadly at 4 theaters I track other than my own, there is a mind- boggling 1,029 tickets sold! Already more than Inside Out 2 (May 20).)
- Charlie Jatinder (Comp: $28.9M THU. Moving along well (May 27). Nearly 300 sales day vs ~260 by Black Panther & ~200 of GOTG3. Another brilliant day. Given the length of sales window, comps be falling off but they have remained steady for first 4 days (May 24). Looking at keysersoze123's MTC1 data: These are incredible (May 22). $40.22M THU (MCU first day sales). Amazing day two at MiniTC2. Well ahead of BP2, GOTG3 and AM3. Not too far off from Thor 4. This is more impressive considering they all were ~25-35 days out while this is 65 days out. MTC2 has lower ATP generally due to smaller screens, less PLF, and more family friendly chain. Does much better PTA than MTC1 (May 21). MCU MTC 1 24 Hours: Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness ~ 210K (T-29), Thor 4 ~ 137K (T-24), DP&W ~ 120K+ (T-66), BP 2 ~ 110K (T-38), AM3 ~ 88K (T-30), and GoTG3 ~ 76K (T-30). At T-30 guess DP&W would have been around 160-170K type. Will mostly be above BP2 and below Thor 4. 3.6k so far. BP2 final was 4.6k. It’s done (crossed GOTG3 day one sales). Almost crossed GoTG3 day one sales at MiniTC2 (May 20).)
- Inceptionzq (Denver Comp: $25.69M THU. Drafthouse THU/FRI/SAT/SUN comp: $31.04M/$38.62M/$40.21M/$22.35M (May 21). Drafthouse THU/FRI/SAT/SUN comps with L&T 24 hours and MoM 11 hours: (1.03x0.968x) / (0.884x0.945x) / (0.912x1.01x) / (0.561x1.004x). Denver THU: In like for like theaters: (0.828x Thor L&T First 24 hours) and (0.628x Doctor Strange MoM first 11.5 hours) (May 20).)
- keysersoze123 (Previews was taken late yesterday and Friday data was just now. Still going quite strong. very impressive after huge OD (May 28). Still really strong 3 days later (May 25). 1st few days of PS is all about fanboys so T-x does not matter. By this FRI it will be in steady state mode. With this long a cycle that would be at very low levels. Looking at FRI sales, its IM will be closer to Thor 4 than BP2. So we can do the projections based on how the previews will go. However Its really early. Let us wait until we have T-x comps. Probably will have to wait until July to get credible comps. MTC2 early sales tend to be way weaker for all movies. The disparity for big movies is even higher. Nothing out of ordinary in day 2 pace for MTC1 (May 22). Obvious skew on previews (compared to FRI) as its 9+ weeks from release. Excellent growth even past 2:15 PM. Finished ahead of BP2 and ~20K below Thor 4 (116k for DxW and FINAL The Marvels previews at 133k). It has the longer cycle. This includes fan shows which sold 18K+ in initial check around noon PST. Fan event is just MTC1. I dont see anything for any other MTC so far or smaller chains. I think at this point we need to comp with 2022 MCU movies if OD presales are on par. Until we are within T-x cycle for this movie, we cannot comp after 1st 2-3 days. Fan shows are yuge. Adding FanShows and Previews should put it between BP2 and Thor 4 for now. Terrific OD. Over time, GotG3 should provide great comps. I can say for sure, its no where in the ballpark of DS2 which did 36m previews. Really good start. Should finish the day ahead of Ant 3 I think. Sales will taper off after fanboy rush. This does not include fan shows. No full data yet but show counts for previews (MTC1 - 7427 and MTC2 - 2914). MTC1 shows they are ready for big numbers. MTC2 is more conservative and numbers will go up close to release. If I have to guess based on really early indications, its OD between Guardians 3 and Ant 3 at MTC1. MTC2 I unfortunately cannot get data (May 20). Thor 4 is the most logical comp but that had meh WOM so IM was terrible. Previews were excellent though. Since its previews was 3 days after July 4, its final surge was stronger than even DS2. I dont think there is any difference between early and late July. All schools/colleges will still be off (May 19). Only number that matters is OD presales. after few days it will hit a trough and then it will plod along until social media reactions and reviews hit close to release. I think we can kind of predict its OW after its OD presales (May 18). RESPONSE TO PORTHOS: Captain Marvel had very strong sales on its OD despite early start. So OD is all about fans. It does not matter if you start 2 weeks before or 9 weeks. They will still book. So it would be interesting to compare OD sales not only with CM for @Porthos but also the big openers in 2022/23 period from MTC perspective. 1) DS2 - 230k ish. 2) Thor 4 - 136k ish. 3) Wakanda - 110k. 4) Ant 3 - 88K. 5) Guardians 3 - 70k ish. I wonder where Deadpool 3 will land. Anything is fine as long as it does pull in a Marvels (May 17).)
- Legion Again (Previews this early in summer are almost a THU opening, so Fri soemthing like +35-55% from Th is IM ~4.9-5.5. If we get some strong Fri sales when we’re close maybe I’ll drag it up to 5.6 or something but it will be really really tough to beat that. Expecting an IM close to Thor 4. Better reception (in avg case, just by regression to the mean) but bigger previews/more fanrush element, ~cancelling. T-65 Projection Matrix ($166M-$186M OW) (May 22).)
- Porthos (Comp: $20.87M THU. $6.72M earned so far in Sacramento (May 28). For long releases of MCU/SW Saga caliber, it usually takes about 6 to 8 days for the initial wave to stop. The Rise of Skywalker didn't really "bottom out" until D9 or so (T-51). Then at T-21, more or less, it started up its acceleration again. Can see similar patterns for MCU long runners (May 24). MCU/SW films tend to have a bit longer of a slope-down on the decent of the "u-curve" so I think I'll keep posting "Day x" comps for at least a couple more days (May 23). Pretty standard Day 2, really. Best sign, I think, is it nearly matching BP2 (that also had a long pre-sale window starting at T-38) (May 22). $22.09M THU Day 1 Comps (8.4% 3D and 58.5% PLF) (May 21). Pretty good, all things considered. BP2 and onward tell a pretty consistent picture. Do think the extra month of pre-sales is gonna mess with these comps at least a little (May 21). Since setup took 60-75 min longer, take the following with a slight grain of salt: 1:45 PM with 2,105 tickets sold. (NWH 2am: 6515), (NWH 2pm: 10685), (Batman 12:45 pm: 1693), (MoM 1:00 pm: 5030), (L&T 12:15pm: 2519), (BP2 2:15pm: 2197) and (GOTG3 12:40pm: 1317). Two theaters have not yet checked in. Seems to be broadly in line with other markets that have reported in (May 20). No comparison for a movie starting presales this early (60+ days before release). Only MCU entry which comes close is Captain Marvel (T-58) and only other Disney release is TROS (T-59). Longest pre-sale window for a major Disney release since The Last Jedi (~70 days). Longest major release since Fast X's 99 days. Probably the most on-point recent comparison will be Jurassic World 3's 43 days. Length of the pre-sale window will very likely depress D1/D2/D3 sales somewhat. It's a matter of smaller degrees when comparing something like a BP2 (starting at T-38), but that extra month is probably gonna slice some numbers off the top of the pile, especially after the first day (May 17).)
- TalismanRing (NYC Regal Local. 17 shows (3 3D, 3 RPX, 11 Reg 2): 102 tickets sold for first hour - almost half for the 7pm RPX showing. COMPS MON opening week: Marvels: 91 (11pm), Eternals: 266 (7pm), Black Widow: 239 (5pm), and Venom 2: 131 (6pm) (May 20).)
- TheFlatLannister ($150M locked imo. Don’t really see under $30M for previews and a 6x multi gets it to $180M OW. With GOTG 3 early reception I think $200M becomes a real discussion (May 22). $44.36M Dune 2 Day 2 comp. Pretty ridiculously strong day 2. Sold more tickets on T-65 than Dune 2 did in its final day of presales. $22.42M THU GOTG3 Comp. Considering this thing is 60+ days out, I'd say day 2 was amazing (May 21). Sold around 1k tickets in the last 8 hours. Keep in mind this is not T-X so once I switch to T-X 30+ days from now, comp will probably be well over $30M for GOTG. Thinking ~8k seats sold by T-30 for ~$37M comp with GOTG vol 3. DON'T TAKE THESE THU COMPS (Dune+APES+GxK) SERIOUSLY: $46.33M. Rollout is pretty insane. Has almost 200 more showings than Inside Out 2. Sold more tickets than Dune 2 did as of T-1 (Dune 2 finished with 13.6k on T-0). Also surpassed Godzilla tickets sold as of T-0. Half way finished collecting data on Deadpool for Florida and it's nearly tripled Dune 2 first 24 hours of sales and data is still flowing in. Passed GOTG3, ATSV, Dune 2 (First 24 hours) in about 3 hours. I think we can put the under $100M OW discussion to bed. To the shock of no one, this is blowing up. First 24 hours update should have average comps near $35M (May 20).)
- Tinalera (Toronto having an especially good run on pre sales- overall sales looking healthy (May 27). For a movie this far out, yea presales are doing well in Vancouver and Calgary. Its hard as very few movies open this early, but its healthy when we are getting between 5-10 percent sales for a movie not due out for 2 months (May 24).)
- TwoMisfits (Local Cinemark presale sets for DP3... 3 screens and 15 showings each - the PLF is giving 1 of 2 PLF screens and the non-PLF is doing some 3d showings. Not the set that a normal "big" Marvel movie gets, but it seems my 2 locals have taken a "put up or shut up" strategy for almost all blockbusters lately. This IS equal or more than most everything lately (although Bad Boys 4 is getting 3 screens and 14 showings at my PLF, so...). But, compared to 2019 Marvel, or even 2021 or EVEN 2023 Marvel...this is a low set (May 19).)
- vafrow (Comp: $45.2M THU. 12% over two days is pretty strong once the rush passes. We're not at the bottom of the curve yet it seems (May 24). 8% growth at this stage is very positive. I expect another drop tomorrow, but I'm probably not going to touch this until the weekend at this stage. I'm comping high, and without a proper MCU comparison (Marvels doesn't count), it's hard to gauge, but I feel this is just doing really well here (May 22). 20% growth on day 2 when it had a really strong first day is impressive. Ahead of T-1 for Dune Previews to officially be the highest selling film I've tracked since I switched to the 5 theatre radius (May 21). MTC4 has really jacked up plf prices in the last year or so, and D&W is skewed heavily towards PLFs in my track. I'm not sure how many trackers are doing price adjustments, but lack of good MCU comps in the last year could see a big price impact. Watching L&T comps in particular because being a rare adult skewing July MCU film seems to be the most ideal (May 21). Solid jump over the course of the day. Dolby sales jumped up the most, potentially as good IMAX screens got taken. Not sure what happened for the East coast this morning, but sales seemed to have rebounded. A little hit and miss in different markets, but that's what I'd assume for that region. There's some small communities. Not sure why it took so long for sales to hit when southern Ontario was hot off the mark. People may have assumed 9:00 am eastern time. Numbers pulled around 11:00 am, so two hours worth of data. Chain is pushing 3D for the ticket premium. Exception is IMAX showings, where I think they know people just want the 2D experience. 60% of sales being those four IMAX showings. 40 minutes into presales for my area. Almost triple Dune 2 on my first measurement for that, which was Day 2. Bit ahead of my first measurement for The Marvels, which was T-21, and I think about a week into sales. They're really leaning into 3D showings. I get the desire for theatres to get the extra premium, but I can't see a lot of people wanting to see this in 3D. Has been up for sale on the Canadian East coast, presumably from 9:00 local time. I did a sweep of all showtimes on MTC4, but there's been zero sales so far (May 20).)
- YM! (Sold ~10.6x Furiosa's T-6. One theater makes up a sizeable percentage of most mid-sized Marvel's T-2 in a span of hours. Such a strong start. Definitely feels like we got a potential 25m previews/150m+ opener. Still don't buy 200m OW but am starting to see 30m previews/175m+ OW as a strong possibility. On its first day has sold over 10x Furiosa T-6 here in SE Wisconsin. At North Shore, 70% of Shang-Chi’s and Venom 2’s T-2, 47% of Homecoming’s T-2, and 41.25% of Thor: Ragnarök’s T-2 - just using DP&W’s T-66! At half of Furiosa’s T-4 sales here in the past ten minutes in just two of the theaters PLF shows (May 20). 42 showings for previews across four SE Wisconsin theaters I track. ~20% more showings than IO2 and about the same amount of PLFs spread. Likely 3-4 screens a theater for THU previews, but has SuperScreen + 2 UltraScreen screens in Majestic Cinema. Seems to be a 3D push with North Shore having primetime showings in 3D UltraScreen (May 19).)

2024.05.29 08:54 VolarRecords YES THIS IS ABOUT THE HISTORY OF UFOS -- Has the C.I.A. Done More Harm Than Good? - by Amy Davidson Sorkin October 3, 2022
Found this article after doing a quick deep-dive after this post from
u/evilez:
https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1d33m4l/does_anybody_remember_what_podcast_this_was/ "Hello fine ladies and gentlemen! I remember listening to a podcast less than a year ago. The main subject of the podcast was UFOs (I think)... anyways the guest told a story that a congressman or senator wrote a bill that was against the CIA or going to defund the CIA, in the 80's... and shortly thereafter, someone broke into his home, dragged his wife out into the street and stuck a gun in her mouth and told her to kill the bill."
Some light Googling brought up this article about the history of the CIA, the OSS, and Daniel Patrick Moynihan's attempts at defunding the agency in the 90s.
Here's an article about that attempt brought by Moynihan published on the Carnegie Endowment Website on December 20, 2005.

Spooked -- What’s wrong with the C.I.A.? -- By Amy Davidson Sorkin -- October 3, 2022
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/10/10/has-the-cia-done-more-harm-than-good According to the article regarding the resuscitation of the OSS as the CIA immediately following Roswell and the Twining Memo:
"Many of its officers moved straight to the new C.I.A. Most consequentially, perhaps, four future directors of the C.I.A. were O.S.S. veterans: Allen Dulles, Richard Helms, William Colby, and William Casey." Here's the New Yorker article in full: "On January 4, 1995, Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, of New York, introduced a bill called the Abolition of the Central Intelligence Agency Act. It had been a rough stretch for the C.I.A. The year before, Aldrich Ames, a longtime officer, had been convicted of being a longtime mole for Soviet (and then Russian) intelligence. Despite having a reputation among his colleagues as a problem drinker who appeared to live far beyond his means, Ames had been given high-level assignments with access to the names of American sources in the U.S.S.R. When the F.B.I. finally arrested him, he was in the Jaguar he used for commuting to work at Langley; by then, he was responsible for the death of at least ten agents. Moynihan said that the case was such a flamboyant display of incompetence that it might actually be a distraction from “the most fundamental defects of the C.I.A.” He meant that the agency—in what he considered to be its “defining failure”—had both missed the fact that the Soviet Union was on the verge of collapse and done little to hasten its end.
He gave a diagnosis for what had gone wrong. “Secrecy keeps mistakes secret,” he said. “Secrecy is a disease. It causes a hardening of the arteries of the mind.” He quoted John le Carré on that point, adding that the best information actually came from the likes of area specialists, diplomats, historians, and journalists. If the C.I.A. was disbanded, he said, the State Department could pick up the intelligence work, and do a better job.
Moynihan was, in some respects, being disingenuous. As he well knew, even if his bill had passed, spies and spying wouldn’t have gone away. The State Department already had its own mini agency, the Bureau of Intelligence and Research. The Departments of Energy and Treasury each had one, too. The Defense Intelligence Agency conducted clandestine operations; U.S. Army Intelligence, Air Force Intelligence, and the Office of Naval Intelligence kept themselves busy as well. The National Security Agency was nearly two decades away from the revelation, by Edward Snowden, a contractor and a former C.I.A. employee, that it had collected information about the phone calls of most Americans, but it was a behemoth even in Moynihan’s time. So was the Federal Bureau of Investigation. There were about a dozen agencies then; now, after reforms that were supposed to streamline things, there are eighteen, including the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (O.D.N.I.), a sort of meta-C.I.A. that has a couple of thousand employees, and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis. The Drug Enforcement Administration (which currently has foreign offices in sixty-nine countries) has an Office of National Security Intelligence. Four million people in the United States now have security clearances.
It can be hard to sort out which agencies do what; players in the espionage business aren’t always good with boundaries. Both the C.I.A. and the N.S.A. make use of satellite resources, including commercial ones, but there is a separate agency in charge of a spy-satellite fleet, the National Reconnaissance Office—not to be confused with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, which deals with both space-based and ground-level imaging, or with Space Delta 18, the nation’s newest intelligence agency, which is attached to the Space Force. Abolishing the C.I.A. might do nothing more than reconfigure the turf wars.
[NOTE: both Sean Kirkpatrick and David Grusch worked for the NRO and at least Grusch worked for the NGA]
As the senator from New York also knew, a large proportion of the C.I.A.’s resources are devoted not to intelligence gathering but to covert operations, some of which look like military operations. In “
Spies, Lies, and Algorithms: The History and Future of American Intelligence” (Princeton)—one of several recent books that coincide with the seventy-fifth anniversary of the agency’s founding—Amy B. Zegart, a political scientist at Stanford, writes that it’s “getting harder to know just where the CIA’s role ends and the military’s role begins.” Yet the agency’s paramilitary pursuits and related covert activities go back decades. They include the botched Bay of Pigs landing, the brutal Phoenix Program in Vietnam, and a long list of assassination attempts, coup plots, the mining of a harbor (with explosive devices the agency built itself), and drone strikes. These operations have very seldom ended well.
Moynihan’s bill had no more luck than another that he introduced the same day, aimed at ending Major League Baseball’s exemption from antitrust laws. In each case, people understood that there was a problem, but both institutions were protected by the sense that there was something essential, and perhaps authentically American, about them, including their very brokenness. A sudden turn of events can convince even the C.I.A.’s most sober critics that the agency will save us all, whether from terrorists or from Donald Trump. But, seventy-five years in, it’s far from clear whether the C.I.A. is good at its job, or what that job is or should be, or how we could get rid of the agency if we wanted to.
How did we end up with the C.I.A.? A familiar explanation is that the shock of Pearl Harbor made the United States realize it needed more spies; the Office of Strategic Services was formed and jumped into action; and, when the war ended, the O.S.S. evolved seamlessly into the C.I.A., ready to go out and win the Cold War. But that narrative isn’t quite right, particularly regarding the relationship between the O.S.S. and the C.I.A.
[NOTE: We know how ended up with the CIA. ROSWELL.] The United States has always used spies of some sort. George Washington had a discretionary espionage budget for which he didn’t have to turn in receipts. In the early part of the twentieth century, the State Department had an intelligence-analysis unit, along with a cryptography group called the Black Chamber, which operated out of a brownstone in New York’s Murray Hill until it was shut down, in 1929. The Army and the Navy had cryptography and reconnaissance units, too. When the Second World War began, their operations ramped up dramatically, and, as Nicholas Reynolds recounts in “
Need to Know: World War II and the Rise of American Intelligence” (Mariner), these units, not the O.S.S., handled most of the code-breaking. The problem became the volume of raw intelligence. The task of making sense of it and of turning it into something that policymakers could use went to an office within the Army’s military-intelligence division (or G-2), which, Reynolds says, produced “the country’s best strategic intelligence” during the war. That office’s work was directed by Alfred McCormack, a former clerk for Supreme Court Justice Harlan Stone and a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. Many of the people he brought in were young corporate lawyers; the theory was that their training in plowing through mountains of documents made them ideal intelligence analysts.
William J. Donovan, who led and largely conceived of the O.S.S., was also a Wall Street lawyer, but one with an aversion to the “legalistic.” What Donovan envisioned was essentially an array of commando units that would operate stealthily and behind enemy lines. In practice, what he tried to build, according to a colleague, was a “private army.” His escapades often risked too much and gained too little. In late 1943, one of his own officers wrote to him that “the set-up has been incredibly wasteful in manpower and, except for a few spotty accomplishments, has been a national failure.” And it had produced “chaos in the field.” Donovan’s nickname was Wild Bill, but his staff called him Seabiscuit, after the thoroughbred, because of his tendency to race around, engaging in what was basically war tourism. In the end, though, the O.S.S. made real contributions, including through its contacts with the French Resistance. But Donovan’s complaint about D Day was that there was “too much planning.” Counterintelligence and strategic thinking bored him, and the O.S.S.’s analysis division was seen as secondary to its operations.
When Harry Truman became President, in April, 1945, he took a look at the O.S.S. and, in September, 1945, abolished it. About two years later, he signed the National Security Act, which established the C.I.A. (and the Department of Defense), but he didn’t want the new agency to be like the group Donovan had run. Instead, it was supposed to do what its name suggested: centralize the intelligence that various agencies gathered, analyze it, and turn it into something the President could use.
[NOTE: I tried doing some research after reading something yesterday about how the NSA was developed in 1952 under Project Sigma to try and decode "alien" communications. If anyone can offer anything, you'd be helping humanity.] “It was not intended as a ‘Cloak and Dagger’ Outfit!,” Truman later wrote. He also had to deal with public apprehensions that he might create what a Chicago
Tribune headline called a “Super Gestapo Agency”—which is why, in its charter, the C.I.A. was banned from domestic spying.
Reynolds’s book is the best of the recent batch, and the most readable. It does not retrofit the history of the O.S.S. around the assumption that the C.I.A. was the inevitable lead postwar intelligence agency. There were other contenders, including a version of McCormack’s office in the State Department—something like what Moynihan wanted. J. Edgar Hoover argued that “World Wide Intelligence” should be turned over to the F.B.I., with military intelligence subservient to him. In some alternative history, he might have pulled that off; by 1943, he was running undercover operations in twenty Latin American countries. And so things could have been worse.
[WHAT UNDERCOVER OPERATIONS WERE WE RUNNING IN LATIN AMERICANS COUNTRIES IN 1943.] Donovan was an adept publicist, but what mattered most, in the end, was that he was good, or lucky, when it came to hiring people. Despite the “pale, male, and Yale” stereotype, the O.S.S. was somewhat more diverse than other units, and certainly more eclectic.
Among its ranks were Ralph Bunche, Herbert Marcuse, and Julia Child. Many of its officers moved straight to the new C.I.A. Most consequentially, perhaps, four future directors of the C.I.A. were O.S.S. veterans: Allen Dulles, Richard Helms, William Colby, and William Casey. Each seems to have had glory-day memories of the O.S.S., which is to say that each, in various ways, was afflicted with what a general in Army intelligence called “the screwball Donovan effect.” Casey, who put a picture of Donovan on his wall, said of his old boss, “We all glowed in his presence.” Wild Bill lost the bureaucratic fight but won the personnel and mythology wars.
And, of course, the agency found customers and collaborators in the White House. There was no mention of covert action in the law that chartered the C.I.A., but Presidents—starting with Truman—began using it that way. One of the agency’s first operations involved meddling in the 1948 Italian election, to insure the victory of the Christian Democrats. The subsidies and outright bribery of Italian politicians, some of them on the far, far right, continued into the nineteen-seventies. Almost from its creation, though, there was a sense that something about the C.I.A. was off. The split between covert action and intelligence gathering and analysis was part of it. The director of the agency was also supposed to be the leader of U.S. intelligence as a whole, but, invariably, the person in the job seemed more invested in preëminence than in coördination.
That setup remained in place until the establishment of the O.D.N.I., in 2004, a move that thus far has mostly continued a tradition of trying to deal with the C.I.A.’s dysfunction by setting up ever more agencies, offices, and centers. (The N.S.A. was established, in 1952, in response to a series of cryptography-related failures.) “Legacy of Ashes,” Tim Weiner’s 2008 history of the C.I.A.—and still an invaluable overview—takes its title from a lament by Eisenhower about what he’d be leaving his successors if the “faulty” structure of American intelligence wasn’t changed. Since Weiner’s book was published, the ashes, and the agencies, have only been piling up. Zegart’s “Spies, Lies, and Algorithms” aims to bring that history to the present. Zegart has served as an adviser to intelligence agencies, and she provides a decent guide to our current bureaucracy. Throughout, her book is clear and well organized—maybe a little too well organized, one feels, after taking in the “Seven Deadly Biases” of intelligence analysis, the “Four Main Adversaries” and the “Five Types of Attack” in the crypto area, and the “Three Words, Four Types” that define covert action. (The covert-action words, incidentally, are “influence,” “acknowledged,” and “abroad.”) Not a few paragraphs read like PowerPoint charts; contradictions are displayed without really being reckoned with. She observes that the balance between “hunting” and “gathering” seems off, but, in her telling, the fact that Presidents of both parties regularly turn to the C.I.A. for paramilitary and other covert tasks constitutes proof that doing so is part of the order of things. The impression she leaves is that if it all goes wrong, it’s because some checklist has been missed. One of the top priorities of U.S. intelligence today, she thinks, should be persuading tech companies to get with the program and help out.
She moots the creation of yet another agency, to deal with OSINT—open-source intelligence. In one chapter, Zegart provides a list of scandals involving spying within the U.S. by various intelligence agencies—notably the N.S.A., the F.B.I., and the C.I.A. “All of these activities violated American law,” she writes. “But that’s the point: domestic laws forbid this kind of surveillance of Americans.” How is that the point, exactly? She depicts the Senate’s 2014 Torture Report, which detailed profound abuses in the C.I.A.’s so-called black sites, as a they-said, the-agency-said, who-knows case. She turns it into a parable about the problems with Congress—suggesting that, although the committee structure may have needed rejiggering, the moral compass of those involved in the program of torture was just fine. Another new volume, “
A Question of Standing: A History of the CIA” (Oxford), by Rhodri Jeffreys-Jones, a professor emeritus of history at the University of Edinburgh, offers the insights of a more distant observer. He can be astute about how “false memories” of the O.S.S.’s accomplishments have led the C.I.A. astray.
Part of his argument is that the agency has acted as if its influence depended on its standing with whoever is in the White House, thus motivating it to offer Presidents quick fixes that fix nothing. The net effect is to reduce its standing, and that of the U.S., with the public at home and abroad. But Jeffreys-Jones is prone to rash generalizations and pronouncements. He theorizes that, in the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, George W. Bush’s national-security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, may have been susceptible to “war mongering” due to her status as “a descendant of slaves,” and that the working-class background of the C.I.A.’s director, George Tenet, made him more likely to vouch for the faulty intelligence on weapons of mass destruction used to justify the war. “Social mobility so often leads to conformity,” warns Jeffreys-Jones, himself the son of an academic historian.
During the Vietnam War, the C.I.A. had discouraging intelligence to offer, and, when successive Administrations didn’t want to hear it, focussed on being helpful by providing those supposedly quick fixes.
That meant abetting a coup in 1963, spying on antiwar protesters, and launching the Phoenix Program, an anti-Vietcong campaign marked by torture and by arbitrary executions; in total, more than twenty thousand people were killed under Phoenix’s auspices. Phoenix was run by William Colby, the O.S.S. alum, who was soon promoted to C.I.A. director. At lower levels, discontent about Vietnam fueled leaks. In December, 1974, the journalist Seymour Hersh told the agency that he was about to publish a story in the Times exposing its domestic spying. Whether in a miscalculation or (as Jeffreys-Jones somewhat breathlessly speculates) as an act of personal expiation, Colby gave Hersh partial confirmation. Amid the scandals and the Congressional hearings that followed, Colby angered some of his colleagues, and Henry Kissinger, by laying bare even more. It emerged that, in 1973, Colby’s predecessor had asked senior agency officials to produce a list of things the C.I.A. had done that might have been unlawful. The resulting document, covering just the prior fifteen years, was known in-house as “The Family Jewels,” and was almost seven hundred pages long. The question of how much it matters who works at the C.I.A. is a perennial one. The influence of Donovan’s acolytes shows that decisions about whom you recruit can, in a formative period or at a critical juncture, make a big difference. But, once an institutional culture has become entrenched, it can be easier to see how the institution shapes the people within it than vice versa.
“Wise Gals: The Spies Who Built the CIA and Changed the Future of Espionage” (Putnam), by Nathalia Holt, comes at the question from a different angle. It’s about five women who worked for the early C.I.A.; three also worked at the O.S.S., and one, Eloise Page, began her career as Bill Donovan’s secretary. Holt is also the author of “Rise of the Rocket Girls,” about women in the early years of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and “The Queens of Animation,” about women at the Walt Disney Company. Her book contains fine material for a beautifully art-directed streaming series, with set pieces in postwar Paris, nineteen-fifties Baghdad, and nineteen-seventies Greece, where Page was the C.I.A.’s first woman station chief. It even has a framing device in the form of the “Petticoat Panel,” a working group of C.I.A. women that convened in 1953 to document their unequal pay and treatment. Holt quotes the transcript of the meeting at which the leadership of the agency summarily rejected their findings. Helms, the future director, says, “It is just nonsense for these gals to come on here and think that the government is going to fall apart because their brains aren’t going to be used to the maximum.” (In 1977, Helms was convicted of lying to Congress about the C.I.A.’s machinations in Chile.) What the book is not, unfortunately, is a coherent history of the C.I.A., of the era it depicts, or even of these women’s work.
Holt’s research does turn up evidence that Jane Burrell, one of her subjects, was the first C.I.A. officer to die in the line of duty, in a plane crash in France, in 1948, a fact that the agency itself apparently missed. Holt ends her book with a call for a star honoring Burrell to be added to the C.I.A.’s memorial wall. Of the hundred and thirty-seven officers represented there, she writes, forty-five died accidentally, the majority in plane crashes, meaning that Burrell’s case would be fairly typical. Burrell was on the return leg of a trip to Brussels, where she’d been sent to talk to war-crimes investigators about a mess the C.I.A. had created by relying on an agent who turned out to have worked with the S.S. and was now in custody. In that respect, too, Burrell, who had personally handled the agent, was typical of the C.I.A. (After Burrell vouched for him, the man was released.) The subject of the C.I.A.’s postwar relations with former Nazis—some of whom, like Reinhard Gehlen, it helped to install in West Germany’s new intelligence service—and with collaborationist émigré groups is, no doubt, a morass. Holt, alas, manages to make the story even more garbled than it has to be. In the end, she basically treats the whole sordid episode as a learning experience for the Gals. The problem is that the agency doesn’t seem to learn much. Holt credits Mary Hutchison with helping to build a network of émigré Ukrainian nationalists. Beginning in 1949, the agency parachuted some of them (including one whom Hutchison apparently distrusted) behind the Soviet border, where they were quickly captured—and repeated the same procedure for a number of years. “Despite the catastrophe, the Ukraine operation would serve as a template moving forward,” Holt writes. “The C.I.A. had more success with back-to-back operations in Iran and Guatemala, where covert action was able to deftly oust leaders considered undesirable.” It’s odd to describe these coups as deft. One of Zegart’s handy lists is of the “unintended consequences” in Iran: “religious extremism, a revolutionary overthrow, the American hostage crisis, severed ties, regional instability, and today’s rising nuclear dangers.” Guatemala is still dealing with the violent legacy of the coup that the C.I.A. visited upon it. Then there’s the question of the intended consequences, which were, respectively, to elevate a shah and a military regime. Secret wars tend not to be so secret in the country where they take place. It was, no doubt, frustrating for Hutchison when, a few years later, her colleagues on the Bay of Pigs task force failed to make use of her Spanish-language skills. But are we supposed to think that the whole misconceived enterprise would have gone off without a hitch were it not for the C.I.A.’s misogyny? One of Holt’s minor themes is that women in the C.I.A. were seen as more natural analysts than operatives—with analysis, in turn, seen as less manly, and less valuable, to everybody’s detriment. But she is more intent on showing that these women were also daring. The main point of “Wise Gals” is that it’s cool that women were in the early C.I.A., and therefore that the C.I.A. itself was cooler than we’d realized. Holt celebrates a big promotion Page got that afforded her access to the secret of a safe containing shellfish-derived poison. You don’t have to be pale, male, and Yale to be complicit in a bungled assassination plot, or, for that matter, a program of rendition and torture.
Why do so many books about the C.I.A. have trouble getting their story straight? It can’t just be the secrecy of the work itself, at least with regard to the earlier years, about which much has been declassified. (Much remains under wraps: Moynihan complained that classification created more than six million supposed secrets in 1993; Zegart writes that the number in 2016 was fifty-five million—not all of which can possibly have been critical.) The
aura of secrecy, by contrast, probably does distort the judgment of its chroniclers. And the scope of the agency’s work is a challenge:
it’s hard to write expertly on places as far-ranging as the Democratic Republic of Congo (where the agency initially planned to poison President Patrice Lumumba’s toothpaste, and instead ended up handing a quarter of a million dollars to Joseph Mobutu, the country’s future dictator, who facilitated the assassination) and Afghanistan (where the C.I.A. has had forty years of illusory gains and worse losses). But the biggest problem may be the agency’s own pattern of self-deception. Holt, for example, sometimes seems to go wrong when, rummaging through the archives, she gives too much credit to contemporaneous internal assessments of an agent’s or an operation’s worth. In truth, the C.I.A. has had a “defining failure” for every decade of its existence—sometimes more than one. For Moynihan, in the nineteen-nineties, it was the lack of foresight about the Soviet Union; in the two-thousands, it was the phantom weapons of mass destruction, followed by torture and, in still evolving ways, by the drone-based program of targeted killings, with its high toll of civilian deaths. Barack Obama’s rapport with John Brennan, the C.I.A.’s director from 2013 to 2017, seems to have brought him to accept the view that the killing of American citizens abroad was acceptable, if managed prudently. The overuse of the agency on the battlefield is due not to a military-manpower shortage but to wishful thinking about the benefits of secrecy and of a lack of accountability. It’s difficult to know, at this point, what the C.I.A.’s next defining failure—or, if one tries to be optimistic, its stabilizing success—will be.
Donald Trump has had a complicated relationship with the intelligence community—increasingly capitalized and abbreviated to I.C.—which is presently conducting a damage assessment regarding documents with classified markings that he kept at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home. He might, of course, be reëlected, and have the C.I.A.’s tools at his disposal again. If the C.I.A. isn’t the place to turn for an expedient solution to foreign-policy problems, neither is it bound to be the place to turn for a solution to our democracy’s political problems. “If you ask intelligence officers what misperceptions bother them most, odds are they’ll mention ethics,” Zegart writes. She quotes an official who complains that “people think we’re lawbreakers, we’re human rights violators.” She insists that “officers think about ethics a lot.” She portrays the agency as being filled with hardworking moms and dads who do a great deal of “agonizing.” No doubt she’s right. But if the C.I.A. keeps falling down all the same, something must be tragically amiss in the agency’s structure or culture, or both. All the talk of coups and assassination plots, Zegart worries, distracts people from understanding the C.I.A.’s more basic intelligence mission. In fact, the party most distracted by such activities—and by the military role it has taken on—seems to be the agency itself. ♦

The first thing that struck me was its weight, which made it feel like a real gun. The details were incredibly accurate, right down to the checkered grip and the engraving on the barrel. However, I found it a bit disappointing that the break-open action didn't work. It may be a minor issue for some, but for me, it took away a bit of the authenticity. Nevertheless, it's a great display piece and does justice to its historical origins. https://preview.redd.it/753m0sa2cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30e9356492c5b9403e0dd82497baadff71a6e065 The Desert Eagle Replica is a standout piece, reminiscent of the iconic gun from various movies, TV shows, and games. When I first held it, I felt a sense of nostalgia and excitement, as though I was wielding a true movie gun. The intricate detailing and the sturdy build make it a joy to handle, and its iconic design leaves no doubt that it's the real deal. One of the most impressive features is the removable clip, which lends a feeling of authenticity to the replica. While some might argue that this detail is not necessary, I appreciate it for the way it adds to the overall experience of using the Desert Eagle Replica. However, one thing that could use improvement is the working action. While it's a nice touch, it feels a bit too stiff and requires more force than necessary to cycle the chamber. An adjustable cylinder or smoother action would enhance the overall experience and provide a more authentic feel. As I continue to use and appreciate this replica, I find that its blend of realism and collectible value make it a worthwhile addition to any airsoft enthusiast's arsenal. https://preview.redd.it/94t9qhk2cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d8a0a497cd0afaff71d10c864075c4fbc8e637f Recently, I gave the Springfield X-tension Mag Extension a whirl while practicing at my local shooting range. What stood out to me right away was the increased grip area it provides, which allowed me better control, even during intense shooting sessions. The polymer construction felt durable, but without adding significant weight to the overall package. However, there was also a slight drawback. While handling the 9.7-inch Springfield XD-Mod. 2 45ACP, I found that the extension occasionally snagged on clothing or holsters, resulting in some minor annoyances. Overall, I'd recommend the Springfield X-tension Mag Extension for avid shooters looking for an improved grip and control experience. Just be prepared to deal with a slight increase in clothing snagging. https://preview.redd.it/nvzu0ey2cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cd557747c80d460b956a875ac01c1278c07b1d2 This antique beauty, the Polished Gold and Nickel M1851 Navy Revolver by Medieval Collectibles, is a sight to behold. The intricate details on this 4-barrel pistol bring it to life, transporting you back to the Civil War era, and even beyond. The 7.5-inch barrel, with its octagonal design, has a timeless charm that's impossible to ignore. The solid frame exudes confidence and strength, much like the times it was used. At 13 inches in total length and a weight of 2.3 lbs. , it's a well-balanced sidearm for gun enthusiasts. However, there are a few areas that might require attention. Some users have reported loose moving parts and issues with the plating, which could affect its overall durability. Additionally, there's been mention of sharp edges and misaligned fittings, which might not be ideal for those handling this piece. Despite these setbacks, the M1851 Navy Revolver remains a coveted collectible. With the right care, it could become a prized possession, adding an element of history to your collection. https://preview.redd.it/6rsf1083cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0587814c1ed0bdd73a1c5b70045f6005d48cdbd I was pleasantly surprised by this 1873 Old West Revolver from Denix, it felt tough and well-constructed. The 5.5 inch black cast metal barrel and trigger give it a solid, weighted feel, while the genuine wood grips lent a touch of authenticity. In my daily life, it served as a perfect replica for a western-themed event and even in my holster, it looked great. However, I did notice that the action of the trigger wasn't as smooth as it could be, but overall, this was a good purchase. https://preview.redd.it/fk9kjel3cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4195b1073514f4d414b1d763205e01fea17591f The Denix CA Classic M1851 Navy Revolver, Nickel, is a replica that truly captures the essence of the original. This non-firing piece of artistry perfectly mimics the iconic revolver, with its nickel-finished metal barrel and imitation ivory grips. The simulated firing mechanism, rotating barrel, and overall design make it a showstopper, reminding me of classic Western movies. Despite its impressive appearance, the replica weighs in at a mere 2.3 lbs, making it an easy piece to handle and carry around with pride. However, one downside I've noticed is the overall length, which measures at 13 inches, making storage a bit of a challenge – but it's a small price to pay for such an authentic and beautiful replica. https://preview.redd.it/v2knbqt3cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47e07ee0a8ebd637fb7f86917d729cccbf8c4bd1 As a fan of Civil War reenacting, the Denix 1849 Wells Fargo Revolver has been a game-changer for me. Its realistic look and feel are top-notch, making it an excellent addition to my outfit, giving it that authentic touch. The black metal and nickel body, with its wood grips, is a delight to hold and adds a sense of weight to it - a detail that's hard to find in other replicas. However, I've also experienced some minor downsides, like the non-firing replica being the only type available. But overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase, and it has become a favorite in my collection. https://preview.redd.it/hqsvbj64cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d17d7e14b79f45859aefab711e29777a5090aa28 As someone who's always been fascinated by the era of the Old West, I couldn't resist trying out this non-firing replica of the 1869 Army Revolver. Featuring a sleek nickel silver finish, this replica brought me back to the iconic "Cowboy" days. Handling the replica felt like holding a piece of history, with the original's "single action" and "top break" mechanisms. It even had the added bonus of being a non-firing model, which meant I didn't have to worry about accidentally accidentally discharging it. However, the size and weight of the replica were a bit more challenging to deal with, given that it's a faithful replica of the original. Despite this, I appreciated the fact that it gave me a better understanding of the real gun without the need to purchase one. All in all, the Denix 1869 Army Revolver replica is a solid choice for anyone looking to step into the boots of a "Cowboy" in the Old West. Just be prepared to handle its size and weight! https://preview.redd.it/43q80yf4cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d52d56d4d9e7c3345ae83db61ee8c58c86f02f71 As a kid, I remember dreaming of being an outlaw in the Wild West, and the Outlaw Pistol brought that dream to life. Crafted with solid die-cast metal and quality plastic, it feels like a real antique gun, just like those used by the famous outlaws of the era. The 12 shot action ring caps provide a satisfying bang that's thrilling and safe. The holster and belt set add that authentic touch, making it more than just a toy. While the plastic handle may not be the most durable, it's still functional and adds a unique look to the pistol. I did find the size a bit small for my hand, but it works perfectly for my son, who absolutely loves it. Overall, the Outlaw Pistol is a great choice for anyone looking to relive the glory days of the Wild West. https://preview.redd.it/6mnm2cu4cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=039290b0c2031d2600a6654f6458199f5450f1af Remember the iconic double-barrel. 45 Pistol from James Bond movies? That's the Walther PPK replica from Denix 1277 31. This isn't just a fictional weapon; it has a real history. Introduced in the 1930s, the Walther PPK has been used by police forces worldwide. Standing at only 7 inches long, it's not just a display piece but a functional weapon, albeit non-firing. While it might not be as sleek as the real one, the Denix replica is impressive in its own right. Its smooth moving parts give it a satisfying feel, making it great for James Bond fans. But beware, the spring in the hammer of this replica can break over time, requiring a replacement that's hard to find. Nonetheless, the Denix 1277 31 Walther PPK replica is a must-have for any fan of the James Bond series. https://preview.redd.it/c2wz2065cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6a00e31f83ac77695d98c7424bf7559a6101812 Awhile ago, I came across the Smith & Wesson MP-45 pistol building brick toy while browsing online. As someone with a love for firearms and a great appreciation for customizable toys, I thought this would be a perfect fit. This 268-piece toy is a detailed replica of the original MP-45, making it a favorite among gun enthusiasts and Lego aficionados alike. The toy is designed with an eye for detail and features intricate engineering that makes it feel like the real deal. One of the highlights of this toy is how it caters to a diverse range of interests. It serves as a tribute to the rich history of the MP-45 while also allowing individuals to express their creativity through building the toy brick by brick. However, the one downside to this otherwise great product is its size. While it's a well-crafted replica, the size of the toy can make it challenging to use or carry around. Additionally, some reviewers have mentioned that the magazine sometimes falls out if the toy is picked up and pointed forward. Despite these minor issues, overall, I found the Smith & Wesson MP-45 pistol building brick toy to be an impressive piece that stands out in my collection. Its attention to detail, variety in options, and its ability to cater to both fans of firearms and bricks make it a unique and enjoyable experience. https://preview.redd.it/yaq3yvm5cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f9b4955fea6f2c96b949e96e4cbd329a26cd713 I recently added the Denix 0.45 Army Revolver Engraved Brass FD1280L to my collection, and it's been a fantastic addition. This non-firing replica, featuring a gold patina finish and a wooden grip, brings the 45 Peacemaker look to life. I'm impressed with its weight and the realistic feel it provides—almost like I'm holding a piece of history. The engraving on this magnificent replica adds to its allure, making it a beautiful conversation starter. As a collector, I appreciate the authentic details—from the barrel length of 3.875 inches to the gold patina finish. The wooden grip not only enhances its aesthetic value but also makes it feel like a genuine piece from the past. One thing to note, some users have mentioned they would have liked a red tip at the end of the barrel, like on the real 1873 Single-Action Army Revolver. However, this does not seem to be a deal-breaker as the majority of reviews praise its realism and quality. Overall, I highly recommend the Denix 0.45 Army Revolver Engraved Brass FD1280L to anyone who loves history and wants a realistic replica in their hands. https://preview.redd.it/ejnqe2y5cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b09e0427b2c9e170500f3c772580b82910d34428 I recently had the chance to try the Sprgfld Dbl Mag PCH 45ACP Blk, a sturdy and reliable magazine pouch from Springfield. With its ambidextrous design, this pouch proved to be a great fit for XD 45 models, providing easy access to extra ammo when on the move. The most impressive feature of this pouch is its sleek black finish, which adds a touch of sophistication to your carry setup. It's also surprisingly lightweight, making it a great addition to any everyday carry kit. While I appreciate the durability of the pouch, it does have a tendency to shift ever so slightly when filled with ammo, which can be a minor inconvenience. However, this issue is easily remedied by either adjusting the placement of the pouch or using a strap to keep it snug against your gear. In conclusion, the Sprgfld Dbl Mag PCH 45ACP Blk is a well-designed and functional magazine pouch that adds convenience and reliability to your carry setup. While its small drawback might be slightly frustrating, the overall experience is still a positive one for anyone seeking an efficient way to store their XD 45 magazines. https://preview.redd.it/zqltyga6cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f1f37c962b217fb025562df20ebdee42ddfdf515 As someone who values reliable handguns for personal or home defense, the Springfield Armory. 45 ACP 13-Round XD Mod. 2 is a top pick. Its precision in manufacturing and high-quality components make it a great choice for both beginners and experienced gun owners. The stainless steel and polymer base plate ensure durability and easy maintenance without compromising on performance. The 13-round capacity allows for quick reloading during critical situations, while the overall build quality guarantees a long-lasting, trustworthy companion. Overall, the Springfield Armory. 45 ACP XD Mod. 2 exceeds expectations in terms of both power and precision. However, some users might find the price slightly steep compared to other options in the market. https://preview.redd.it/bk475ok6cb3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9305d4d3a4da839cce6ff33e7fc84c0a96987b96 I recently added the Denix Replicas 1008L to my collection, and let me tell you, it's quite the impressive addition. The brass and blue finish blend beautifully, capturing the essence of the original Smith and Wesson "First Model American" Army Revolver. It's interesting to see how the hinged frame and automatic ejection system were pivotal in the evolution of firearms. Despite its antique charm, the replica still brings a sense of realism with its single action mechanism and top break loading design. The wood grips add a touch of refinement to the overall design. However, using it brought to light a minor flaw – the wood grip's durability. In my experience, the grip began to show signs of wear, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, the Denix Replicas 1008L is a delightful addition to any collection, and it serves as a great reminder of the technological advancements made in the field of firearms. Despite its minor flaw, the replica still holds a special place in my heart. Buyer's Guide Choosing the right 45 ACP handgun can be a daunting task with so many options available on the market. 2024.05.29 08:48 moondreamer96 Golden order fundamentalism was Miquella's doing and what he learned during that period lead him to the realm of shadow
I believe Leyndell was a very different place before Miquella, his handiwork, trinkets, blessed armors and weapons made of unalloyed gold and phylosophy realy makes me think he was the one who brought(at least tried to) reason to a borderline barbaric religion, but ended up learning its true terrible nature. There are many signs of subtle rebelion or stretching the rules that might be his doing, The biggest one is the statue that may turn into Marika by performing law of regression, I highly doubt the sculptor hired just saw him turn into Marika from a window, I suspect Miquella told them about Radagon's true nature, and before that Radagon explained EVERYTHING to Miquella. Miquella growing the Haligtree and learning more and more about the nature of their world in order to heal Malenia looks like the most likely scenario, but its still hard to determine if Mohg kidnapping him was part of the plan or Mohg is just a weirdo.
Smaller possible changes brought by Miquella:
the perfumers, they use alchemy and herbs to heal, Miquella must have passed on many of his studies when he tried to at least make pain killers for Malenia or those inflicted by rot
Miquella's lilies being cultivated in the capitol, those lilies are both very valuable and religious symbols so its hard to determine why were they cultivated there, their pressence suggests that Miquella was loved by many and his lilies are considered truly sacred by anyone. St Trina's lilies are a bit more complex but I think the same is true for them, intresstingly they often grow in places where great tragedies happened. I suspect these lilies are the same as Malenia's flower buds, unleashing their magic makes flowers grow.
White masks, they are mercy killers, and strangely drawn to Mohg, its not that big of a stretch that at some point they were Miquella's followers or just respected him in some way. The allure of a swift death or eternal sleep kind of come from the same place
Possible reason on why Miquella could have went along with Mohg kidnapping him:
I don't think he was powerless or needed the protection of Malenia at any point, he accepted her dedication as her sign of love. When we enter Malenia is asleep, possibly an enchantment put on her by Miquella/St Trina. Once Miquella foound some sort of conclusion he might have reached out for Mohg who communed with the formless mother. The formless mother could be related to that massive pile of corpses from the trailer, or the true nature of erdtrees. Its important to mention that Miquella knew more than us, he saw the whole picture, this may be an unreasonable conclusion from our limited perspective, but huge masses of bloody flesh and corpses are being fed to erdtrees, they need human flesh and blood. This conclusion might be justified by Law of regression, Miquella going back to the source of everything, the source was rivers of blood and mountains of corpses. Receiving omen blood could be a way to exit the cycle, discard his golden flesh. I like to think Mohg is actually a good guy framed as a weirdo who likes his little brother way too much.
As a conclusion I'd say we can expect to meet a benevolent mastermind in Miquella who is a lot like Goldmask but actually speaks, neither are afraid to face dire truths about their world, like gods themselves being a "fly in the ointment", or look for the truth no matter how dark it is

I recently decided to try out this long gun safe, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer. First, the exterior dimensions of the safe are impressive, measuring at 59" H x 36" W x 23.50" D, providing ample space for larger firearms. The interior dimensions are equally noteworthy, offering 55.51" H x 32.28" W x 16.30" D, housing 16.90 cubic feet of storage space. With a weight of 721.8 lbs, you know this is a sturdy and reliable safe. But what really sets this safe apart is its fire rating of 60 minutes at temperatures up to 1650 degrees Fahrenheit. That's half an hour longer than what many other safes can claim. And for protection from water damage, it's equipped to withstand submersion in up to 2 feet of standing water for up to 7 days. One area where this safe shines is the combination of a fully programmable SecuRam electronic lock, two fail-safe override keys, and an integrated UL Rated single power outlet with two USB ports. This makes it easy to keep your valuables secure while also providing convenience and ease of use. However, one downside I experienced was the delivery process. I had to pay extra for the safe to be moved inside my home, as the delivery service only brought it to the doorstep. That added a significant amount to my overall cost. The safe also comes with a relocker device and motion-activated LED lights for added security and visibility, especially in dark conditions. The steel construction is industrial-grade, with a graphite satin metallic powder coat finish and a 5-spoke chrome drop handle. The Uni-Weld 12 gauge steel body is reinforced with 8 active steel bolts and 4 deadbolts, providing an impressive level of security. In conclusion, the Remington Express SAR5944E Safe offers a robust combination of fire protection, water resistance, and security features in a sturdy, long gun safe design. Despite the added delivery cost, the overall experience of using this safe has been positive and reassuring, offering peace of mind when it comes to safeguarding important valuables and firearms. https://preview.redd.it/jfbirbsuab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ad64e72a0c169b1c533433eb795efd0fb67fb17 I've been using the Hornady Series I 2-Die Set for my 300 Remington Ultra Magnum firearm, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. The die set is well-crafted, ensuring a lifetime of reloading without breaking or wearing out. It boasts a sleek Zip Spindle design that eliminates spindle slippage, making adjustments much easier. One of the most impressive features of these dies is the die locking rings, which keep everything secure during the reloading process. However, I found that the full-length sizing and bullet seating design could be a bit tricky to manage for newcomers to reloading. Another small drawback is the absence of a shell holder, which might be a slight inconvenience for some users. But overall, I've had a fantastic experience with this product. Its durability and smooth operation make it a solid choice for those seeking reliable and long-lasting reloading tools. So, if you're in the market for new dies and haven't given Hornady a try, I highly recommend giving them a shot. https://preview.redd.it/v6q45shvab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54e6d565d6416a1c9921086e9d2b11e17bb94067 I recently had the chance to try the WorkstationPro x Broad Magnum 44 Permanent Marker in Red. I was impressed by its industrial strength, perfect for large-scale marking jobs. The quick-dry ink is highly pigmented, producing a bold, bright mark without any odor. Additionally, the loop at the top keeps the marker safe and tidy. Despite its permanent nature, the ink is both AP certified non-toxic and water-resistant, making it a handy option for various uses. However, one minor drawback is that it does not come in a wide range of colors like some other markers. Overall, this red WorkstationPro x Broad Magnum 44 is definitely a worthy addition to any office toolkit. https://preview.redd.it/r3a3g3uvab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39a65fd1ada4405ccd81a6222966c4193846c539 I recently gave the Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum a shot in my gunsmithing endeavor, and I have to say, I was quite impressed. Picture this: you've got your shotgun loaded with some ammunition that didn't quite fit right. Instead of having to painstakingly trim and adjust every single piece, you simply pop in this bad boy and let it do all the work for you. The Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum, much like its younger brother, is meticulously crafted out of high-quality steel alloy. Trust me, you can feel the sturdiness and precision in your hands. It's not just a tool, it's an artisanal piece. The decapping assembly is a game-changer. It saves you the hassle of having to manually remove the primer from each case. It's almost like having a little sidekick doing all the heavy lifting for you. One less thing to worry about, am I right? However, as with all good things, there's a catch. The price tag on this baby might give you a bit of sticker shock. But, considering the quality and the amount of work it saves you in the long run, it might just be worth it. Overall, the Redding Sizer Die 44 Remington Magnum is a worthy investment for any gun enthusiast. It's reliable, precise, and does all the tough work for you. Just remember, you also need to have patience and some knowledge about gunsmithing - this tool is not a magic wand that fixes everything by itself. Happy shooting! https://preview.redd.it/p87irb9wab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=244f949c2e7e96e5dde0ad0e571eb6339a3336f3 The Caliber 44 Magnum Cordless Clipper has been an essential tool in my daily grooming routine. I was initially drawn to its sleek design, but it was the fade blade's precision that truly won me over. The powerful motor with an impressive 8200 RPM made cutting through thick hair a breeze. The 3200mAh Li-ion battery provides a whopping 5 hours of continuous use, so I never have to worry about running out of power mid-cut. The metal click lever is a game-changer, allowing for effortless and precise adjustments on the fly. The digital display is also a thoughtful addition, keeping me informed of the clipper's power level and oil requirements. While the low noise technology is a great bonus, it's the dual DLC-Diamond Like metal 440C Japanese steel blades that truly set this clipper apart. Of course, no product is without its minor drawbacks. I found that the battery charge time could be a bit longer, but overall, the Caliber 44 Magnum Cordless Clipper has exceeded my expectations and become my go-to grooming essential. https://preview.redd.it/q3epuyiwab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7d40130b2c538f629bc7557bb6c4adda07498259 Revving up on my 2020 Polaris RZR 1000, I decided to give the High Lifter APEXX Big Lift Kit a try. Not only did it give my ride the much-needed boost in ground clearance, but it also opened up more possibilities for off-roading. This kit was a game-changer, and the fact that it came with sturdy control arms that can withstand the toughest terrain is just a bonus. However, something I noticed was that the fitment could be a tad tricky, and I had to make some tweaks to get it just right. Overall, it's a worthwhile investment for those seeking a more thrilling off-road experience. https://preview.redd.it/pawr5uwwab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0dcd83c6e00eb90cf684ad11375065c90e2e98f As I've been using this stylish Remington Therapy Collection straightener, I've noticed how well it treats my hair, giving it a natural-looking shine and eliminating frizz. The advanced ceramic coated plates glide through my hair effortlessly, and the sleek design is easy to maneuver, making it a perfect addition to my daily hair routine. One of the highlights I've experienced is the digital temperature display, which ensures I'm using the right setting for my hair type. Plus, the intelligent auto shut-off feature adds an extra layer of safety for when I forget to turn it off. However, I've also noticed a few drawbacks. On occasion, the advanced ceramic plates tend to tangle my hair when styling, which can be a bit of a hassle to untangle. Additionally, the cord isn't as heavy-duty as I would prefer, making it easier to accidentally unplug during use. Overall, this Remington Therapy Collection straightener has been a valuable addition to my hair care arsenal. While there are a few drawbacks to consider, the benefits far outweigh the cons, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to enhance their hair's vitality and shine. https://preview.redd.it/zqu0qv5xab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ef07a657f0e912d2c376a7e922c61fe0b7020dc The Magnum Bragg tactical boots are an impressive combination of style and functionality, designed to keep feet dry and protected in every terrain. As a reviewer who's been using these boots for my outdoor activities, I appreciate the breathable waterproof membrane that keeps my feet dry even when I'm wading through wet grass. The cushioned collar, EVA midsole, and Ortholite sock liner provide a level of comfort that I didn't expect from a military-style boot. However, I did notice that these boots are more water resistant than fully waterproof, which can be a downside for those seeking complete protection. Overall, I recommend these boots for people who want a durable and comfortable outdoor work or hiking experience, but remember to apply a moisture repellent to ensure full waterproof protection. https://preview.redd.it/bqsu64kxab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e242efd4c7aac7e629296c27de4b9ec29a17a446 For a little over a month, I've been using the Weld Racing Magnum III RT 15" x 4" wheel as the staple for one of the vehicles I daily drive. The first thing that stood out to me was the wheel's robust design. The 3-piece construction, coupled with a 1,200 lb load capacity, makes it a reliable choice for my daily commutes, despite the fact that I often have to navigate through urban roads and the occasional pothole. Despite its size, the Weld Racing Magnum III RT is surprisingly maneuverable in tight spaces. Despite the 1.5 in back spacing, it performs wonderfully, making it easier for me to park it in the same spot every day. However, one drawback I've experienced is the lack of hub centricity. While it isn’t a deal breaker for me, it could be a disadvantage for someone looking for the smoothest ride possible. When it comes to aesthetics, the Magnum III RT is hard to beat. The black anodized center contrasts beautifully with the wheel’s polished finish, giving it a sleek and sophisticated look. Overall, the Weld Racing Magnum III RT is a solid choice. Despite its minor drawbacks, the wheel provides an excellent blend of performance and aesthetics. So far, it’s proved to be a reliable and visually appealing addition to my vehicle. https://preview.redd.it/otr2cxvxab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdcd5faead22a3e92204a5f3139cec16b0d3f49a As someone who's spent countless hours on a work site, I can confidently say that comfort is key when it comes to safety boots. That's why I was thrilled to try out the Magnum Rigmaster safety boots for men. The very first thing I noticed was the lightweight yet sturdy design, making these boots easy to wear and move around in, even on wet and muddy surfaces. One feature that really stood out for me was the waterproof and breathable bootie membrane. It kept my feet dry and comfortable all day long, even when I was working in wet conditions. The composite toe and anti-penetration plate were also impressive, offering a layer of protection against potential hazards on the job site. However, there were a couple of downsides to these boots that I couldn't overlook. The zipper system, while convenient for getting them on and off, occasionally caused some friction and wear on the leather. Additionally, the laces sometimes loosened throughout the day, requiring frequent adjustments. In conclusion, the Magnum Rigmaster safety boots provide a balance of comfort and durability that other work boots often lack. Although there are minor drawbacks, the overall experience has been positive, and I would recommend giving these boots a try if you're in the market for a dependable and comfortable pair of safety boots. https://preview.redd.it/6qlnacayab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5840dd21541dca863c539aa2c15e6646444da661 I've been using these Magnum Classic Boots for a while now, and I must say, they're a game changer. The thing that stands out the most to me is the comfort. It's like walking on air – these boots are so lightweight, yet incredibly supportive. The leather and nylon construction is a testament to their durability, so I don't have to worry about them falling apart after a few months of use. They're perfect for those long days when I'm on my feet for hours. One downside is that, as with most boots, they do require a bit of breaking in. I find this with most footwear, and I don't let it deter me from trying out some great products like these boots. Overall, the Magnum Classic Boots are a fantastic addition to my wardrobe. They offer a stylish yet practical twist on traditional footwear, making them an excellent choice for both casual and professional use. https://preview.redd.it/s75fzckyab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55714c46b88c961798a178f557cf1e99a9ecc5e5 I recently got my hands on some Weld 792P-54202 Magnum III 15x4 / 5x4.5 BP / 1.5in. BS polished wheels, and let me tell you, they looked and felt amazing from the moment they arrived. The polished shell with a black machined center was truly eye-catching, and the center cap and valve stem included made my life a bit easier during installation. However, using these wheels also had some challenges. While designed for use with a 5/8" drive stud or short shank mag style lug, they didn't fit easily into my late-model performance car. Unfortunately, the beadlock availability on 15-inch RT wheels wasn't of much help in this situation. Despite these minor setbacks, I still found the forged aluminum construction to be both stronger and lighter than what I'm used to in cast wheels. Overall, the Weld 792P-54202 Magnum III 15x4 / 5x4.5 BP / 1.5in. BS polished wheels turned out to be a unique combination of style, strength, and convenience. While they presented some installation issues, the premium quality was evident and stood out among other wheels I've used in the past. https://preview.redd.it/mgjc6i0zab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01ee086353d3e736e02cfe0aec3e034e2e9b9f38 When I decided to try something different to honor my loved one's memory, I stumbled upon the Anchor 44 Magnum Bullet Stainless Steel Jewelry Pendant Necklace. This necklace is not just an accessory; it's a unique way to carry a piece of my loved one with me wherever I go. One of the features that stood out to me is the ability to customize the pendant. I could choose the size of the necklace and even add a personal touch with optional engraving or artwork. The quality of the stainless steel also impressed me - it felt solid and well-crafted. However, there was one thing that seemed a bit off - the instructions for filling and sealing the pendant. It took me a little bit of trial and error to figure out the right technique. But once I managed to get the hang of it, the pendant closure was secure and the process became easier. Overall, I think this necklace is a beautiful and heartfelt way to keep my loved one close to me. While the directions could use a little improvement, the thoughtful design and customer service more than made up for it. https://preview.redd.it/revb8o9zab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=561207f72a24c825147ea349111226fc06e1e19e My experience with the EGW Cowboy Chamber Checker was nothing short of impressive. I've been using it for a while now, and it has become an essential part of my daily gun cleaning routine. What sets this checked apart from others? It's the solid 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum construction that comes with a distinct anodized matte black finish for added durability. Unlike some other brands that use boring bars, the EGW Cowboy Chamber Checker is machined using the same Clymer reamers used to chamber barrels. This ensures an accurate measurement and perfect fit for various calibers. The checker stands at 1.6 inches tall, making it compatible with a range of firearms. In terms of the Saami spec max length, it covers 44 Remington Magnum with a dimension of 1.610 inches, while 44-40 Win rounds are suitable with a max length of 1.592 inches. The. 45 Long Colt is not a popular chamber checker but still works as intended. Though I have had no complaints, it would be nice if they offered more options for different calibers. Overall, the EGW Cowboy Chamber Checker is a dependable and functional product that is essential for any gun enthusiast looking to maintain their firearms. Its high standard and the quality it offers are what set it apart in my book. https://preview.redd.it/a7efr9qzab3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd2c74d5c0b0167f58f1c678c0ed59f22d887d68 Trying the Glitter - 44 Magnum was like stepping into a world full of sparkle and magic. The glitters seemed to capture my imagination with their vibrant, high-pigmented colors. As a fan of colorful looks, I loved applying the glitter over my lash glue crease for an extra pop. However, the application process could have been smoother if the lid on the container didn't have a tendency to loosen and leak glitter during transit. Despite the packaging issues, I found myself drawn to the glitter's mineral-based options and was happy to learn that some of the colors were completely cruelty-free and vegan. Air pollution Control Equipments Filtration Technologies: A Crucial Environmental Factor Industrial facilities across various sectors rely on filtration systems to manage air quality, control emissions, and safeguard both public and environmental health. These systems act as environmental gatekeepers, preventing pollutants and particulate matter from being released into the atmosphere. From baghouses to electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), and more recently, innovative hybrid approaches, these systems are central to reducing the release of pollutants into the environment.
Efficiency vs. Environmental Impact: A Delicate Balance One of the primary factors to assess when choosing a
filtration technology is its efficiency in capturing pollutants. Higher efficiency typically equates to better environmental protection, but it's not the whole story. To understand the complete picture, one must also consider the energy required for filtration and its associated carbon footprint. It's essential to strike a balance between efficiency and energy consumption to optimize the environmental impact. For instance, an ultra-efficient system may consume an excessive amount of energy, making it less environmentally friendly than a more balanced solution.
Lifecycle Analysis: Beyond Operation Performing a lifecycle analysis is an integral part of assessing a filtration technology's environmental effect. This analysis considers not only the operational phase but also the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance phases. When evaluating different filtration technologies, it's crucial to understand the environmental implications throughout their entire lifecycle. This perspective includes aspects such as raw material extraction, transportation, and disposal at the end of life. An effective
filtration technology should demonstrate an environmentally conscious approach in every phase of its existence.
Material Selection and Resource Usage: The Environmental Ingredients The choice of materials in filtration systems can significantly impact their environmental footprint. Sustainable materials, lower energy usage during manufacturing, and ease of recycling or disposal should be the focus. Modern filtration technologies often prioritize using materials with minimal environmental impact. They also consider the potential for reusing materials or recovering them for subsequent use. By minimizing waste and optimizing material selection, these technologies reduce their environmental footprint.
Carbon and Energy Footprint: Measuring Efficiency The energy required to operate a filtration system directly contributes to its environmental impact. It varies across industries and even within different applications. Understanding this, filtration technologies should be tailored to specific requirements. What works for one industry may not be the best fit for another. Hence, it's essential to conduct a thorough analysis of the specific environmental challenges and goals. By aligning filtration technologies with both regulatory requirements and industry-specific environmental aspirations, industries can enhance their environmental performance.
Conclusion: Pioneering Environmental Responsibility As industries worldwide embrace greater environmental responsibility, the role of filtration technologies takes center stage. Selecting the right technology involves a comprehensive evaluation that considers efficiency, materials, energy consumption, and the complete lifecycle. It is through such meticulous assessments that we can truly evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of different filtration technologies. By doing so, we pave the way for cleaner air, a healthier planet, and a sustainable future. This journey is not just about compliance; it's about creating a positive impact and leaving a legacy of environmental stewardship for future generations.

2024.05.29 08:30 No_Pomegranate7134 How often do tourists (indirectly or directly) violate the rules in Turkey just for the sake of clout on TikTok or to get that "instagrammable" picture of a famous site or landmark from a distance?
For example, in Japan: there was
news coverage about tourists being careless on the roadway despite orange traffic cones and a barrier visible on the side of the road intended to dissuade them, tourists either halted incoming vehicles & traffic standing in the middle of the road (MEANT FOR CARS!) just to take a picture of Mt. Fuji. [It's stupid and dangerous if you ask me.] Some tourists STAND or SIT on the barrier, which is just like, why?
There's more from that clip:
- Tourists standing in the middle of the traffic lane divider to pose and snap pictures [Mind you - There's incoming vehicles while they are doing all of this!]
- Even the news reporter covering the story advised a tourist against taking a photo / selfie while standing on the road divider also treading on it.
- Tourists in Kawaguchiko were partially obstructing the road (not moving out of the way!) to let an INCOMING TRUCK pass, so the driver had to swerve to the right to avoid running them over.
- Tourists flooded another spot「夢の大橋」("Rüya Köprüsü") for taking pictures of the mountain, walking up the stairway for the "instagrammable" picture.
- [at around 4:41] They even caught tourists JAYWALKING in the middle of the roadway even though there's incoming traffic. (Despite the cones and barriers present.)
- There's a group of tourists who were standing on the side of the road divider with incoming traffic loitering there. (Even a van drove right past them, as it's a ROAD - NOT A SIDEWALK!)
- [at around 6:33-6:52] A tourist was standing behind a vehicle then approached the driver. (You can't halt vehicles in the middle of the road and distract the driver! - It's insane!)
- [at around 6:69] Tourists posing in the middle of the lane divider for their "instagram" pics. (You are not allowed to loiter in the road divider!)
- [at around 8:30] A mother and daughter who were tourists TRESPASSED on private property, as there was a sign displaying「立入禁止」stealing one of the flowers on that private residence.
- Of course, tourists litter and leave trash on the street, since Japan has no bins available at public places. (only at designated spots.)
- Even the locals in that area are starting to complain and getting fed up with tourists constantly populating the area - violating the rules, being a 迷惑 ("sıkıntı")
Tourists standing on the barrier with their own two feet, which again is not allowed. Even the ministry of transportation put out a clear statement regarding implmenting countermeasures on a location you are not meant to tread on (or be jaywalking) so their solution is to "install a barrier" to deter them. But we know how that will end up, tourists still disregard the fact there's an barrier installed.
There's another spot where tourists now can take a picture of Fuji, it's some stairway of an overhead bridge, but people again cross the road (or jaywalk) just to reach it. Not long ago, a female tourist from Tunisia was fun over by an incoming vehicle (due to her standing in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD) for the "instagrammable" picture of the mountain. [in Kawaguchiko this happened.]
Speaking of Kawaguchiko, the Lawsons there including Fuji are always featured on as the backdrop of every TikTok talking about tourism in Japan (alongside Kyoto) Yep, there were even 2 tourists caught jaywalking disregarding the ACTUAL pedestrian crossing. Despite Japan installing a barrier to obstruct the view of the mountain, tourists still poked holes as it was created out a black tarp.
Just last year, Mt. Fuji itself was suffering from an over-tourism problem on its own since tourists are dying to climb to the summit, but some were ill equipped. (There was even a woman caught wearing shorts and sandals upon the trip to the summit - not suitable for climbing!) Some climbers show up shirtless also creating a makeshift bonfire.
In hindsight:
- Have there been cases in Turkey, where tourists actually sustained injuries all because of their recklessness and disregard for the rules?
- Are there times when tourists continue to violate the rules of the country to the point the authorities started to crack down on it? (or received news coverage?)
- How common is it for tourists visiting Turkey to just litter on the floot despite the country having bins available at public places?

2024.05.29 08:25 offsugar Mamoru Oshii's review of 'Princess Mononoke'
Hayao Miyazaki's View of the Japanese People
Maki Watanabe: Let’s talk about Director Miyazaki's "Princess Mononoke." This work was a representative blockbuster film of that year. It was not only the first Ghibli work to exceed 10 billion yen at the box office, but it even reached 19.3 billion yen!
Mamoru Oshii: That number is indeed impressive. Unlike the previous work, "Porco Rosso," which was whimsical and lacked a theme, this time he returned with a grand theme. This time the theme was "Hayao Miyazaki's view of the Japanese people."
Maki Watanabe: So the characters like the “People of the Mountains” appeared.
Mamoru Oshii: It can be said that it brings together an all-star lineup of images representing Japan in the old man's mind. From the Emishi to the people of Irontown, to the lepers, to the Forest Spirit, and so on, the theme of the “People of the Mountains” is the ethnic minorities and small groups of Japan.
Maki Watanabe: Mr. Miyazaki has done a lot of research in these areas.
Mamoru Oshii: The old man is indeed a hardworking and studious person. He reads history books very seriously and wants to leave behind the fruits of his studies. Mr. Takahata also has this side, and so do I. In other words, this is a common desire shared by all creators. In this regard, the old man's research interest fell on another kind of Japanese who are not well known, that is, the “People of the Mountains.”
Maki Watanabe: What about Ashitaka, one of the protagonists?
Mamoru Oshii: Although he is Emishi, he is also one of the People of the Mountains. He has a unique religious view and view of nature, which are consistent with the old man's orientation. The old man has absolutely no interest in agricultural peoples, and the people of the mountains are both hunters and makers of things.
Maki Watanabe: Ah, the “making things” setting that the old man likes.
Mamoru Oshii: That's right. So this is the world where he can best transfer his feelings to these people.
Maki Watanabe: So, unlike Mr. Takahata, Mr. Miyazaki is not interested in farmers?
Mamoru Oshii: Not interested. It never appeared in his (original) works, right? Mr. Takahata is good at rural themes, but the old man is not at all.
Maki Watanabe: What is Mr. Oshii's impression of "Princess Mononoke"?
Mamoru Oshii: This work is too stiff. The theme is too grand to be concluded. It's like spreading out a whole piece of wrapping cloth and then not knowing how to put it back together, and in the end, you can only make a mess of it. In the end, the flowers bloom muddleheadedly, and then the music plays as usual, and it ends without anything being resolved. Did they ever think about how to end it? Filmmakers generally like to make a grand opening, but very few can put it back together perfectly. But this is where the director's skill is shown.
Maki Watanabe: Christopher Nolan once said that when making a film, you have to think about the ending from the beginning, and once you decide on it, you don't change it. The endings of his films are indeed impressive.
Mamoru Oshii: Actually, that's the usual way to do it. I also think about the ending from the beginning. Structure is the life of a film, it's a matter of course. On the contrary, the old man, who doesn't write scripts properly, starts from scratch and doesn't want to think about the ending at all. I have said it many times, it is precisely because of this that he is not suitable to be a director.
Maki Watanabe: However, the more you say that about him, the more I find the old man cute. After all, he has always been true to himself, that's great, isn't it?
Mamoru Oshii: What's so cute about it? In a sense, he's someone who makes movies solely on his own talent. Indeed, he is a genius in a way, he doesn't consider anything before or after his death. It is Toshio Suzuki's job to assist him from the sidelines. Speaking of which, Miss Maki, do you remember the last scene of "Princess Mononoke?"
Maki Watanabe: I remember. In the end, everyone went back to where they belonged and it ended. I didn't understand why Ashitaka stayed in Irontown instead of going back to his hometown, so I complained: "Hey, go home." But I didn't quite understand it when it was released. To be honest, there are a lot of things in the story that are hard to keep up with. At that time, many magazines made special features on "Princess Mononoke," and they all sold well. It should be that everyone didn't understand the story, so they wanted to hear what was going on.
Mamoru Oshii: How many people can remember the ending of Ghibli movies, especially the old man's movies? The theme song or the main melody composed by Joe Hisaishi plays, and then it's "the end," forcibly ending. This is Suzuki's strategy.
Maki Watanabe: "Princess Mononoke" uses a song by Yoshikazu Mera at the end.
Mamoru Oshii: The song was also used repeatedly in the promotion, making people so familiar with the theme song that it lingered in their ears. So why use this song over and over again? Because the people in charge of publicity didn't understand the story either. What is the story of "Princess Mononoke" about? It should be the story of Ashitaka and San, but what happened to them in the end? Miss Maki, can you explain it clearly?
Maki Watanabe: The theme is the opposition between civilization and nature. San represents nature, Ashitaka is the middle ground, Lady Eboshi is civilization, and then the story is about the collision of these values. I just rewatched it, so I can probably explain it to this extent, but the part about Ashitaka and San feels very weak.
Mamoru Oshii: That's right, Ashitaka and San should have become like Pazu and Sheeta in "Castle in the Sky," but they didn't. Surprisingly, San is not charming in the slightest. The most surprising thing I saw at the screening was this. The old man, who has always drawn beautiful girls, could it be that he didn't put his heart into San? At least it seems so. The appreciation of the characters is significantly less than before. It's almost impossible not to ask, "What's wrong with the old man?"
The Magic of Hayao Miyazaki's Manga Films
Maki Watanabe: Indeed, although she is the heroine, her impression is very weak. She didn't even leave as deep an impression as Ashitaka.
Mamoru Oshii: That's right, it must be Ashitaka who left a deeper impression. Followed by Lady Eboshi, she is the old man's favorite type. The most interesting thing about the old man is that he doesn't just stop at simply praising nature and denying civilization. I've said it countless times, the old man himself has another side to him that loves fighter jets and mechanical civilization. He is a very contradictory person.
Maki Watanabe: Lady Eboshi is the character who speaks for the old man, right?
Mamoru Oshii: The process of civilization is an inevitability of human development. Human beings cannot survive without destroying nature. This is human beings. Lady Eboshi of Irontown is probably the representative of this kind of human being, just like Nausicaä in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind."
Maki Watanabe: Lady Eboshi loses an arm at the end, and Nausicaä also has a prosthetic arm.
Mamoru Oshii: So, that's the price. In the old man's way of thinking, they must pay a certain price, and it is easy to see from the picture that it is manifested as the loss of an arm. The old man has a unique sense of balance, and he will definitely look for that balance point. Take the villain character, Colonel Muska, in "Castle in the Sky" as an example. As he is escaping, he throws his underwear out of his open suitcase. From this scene, you can also see that the old man did not completely portray him as a bad guy. Adding a bit of cuteness to the villains is what the old man does. Lady Eboshi is a character with very clear values, and for the old man, it is necessary to make her pay the price of losing her arm. In this sense, he is a genius in terms of balance. Although having said that, the old man would not do such a thing as adding a scar to a cute girl. The same goes for children. Girls and children are the old man's sacred realm, and he never lets these characters pay any price or suffer any trauma.
Maki Watanabe: But there's nothing entangled in Lady Eboshi, is there? For example, Ashitaka reported that the women in Irontown were in danger, but she said, "Women can take care of themselves", and then devoted herself to destroying the Forest Spirit. Generally speaking, wouldn't there be some hesitation and struggle? So I don't feel the charm from her strength.
Mamoru Oshii: That's the nature of the old man. Putting viewpoints side by side, putting out all kinds of values without omission, for the old man, there is no contradiction in liking characters who are not troubled and do not hesitate. Because the old man hates indecisive characters the most. He would never affirm those who are hesitant, hesitant, and prone to distress. In short, he doesn't like entanglement.
Maki Watanabe: This value is very interesting.
Mamoru Oshii: Of course, he likes nature the most. However, if the Forest Spirit is affirmed, human beings have to be denied, so there must be an existence that speaks for the human position, and that is Lady Eboshi. The old man is not such a simple person. He has studied why human beings have embarked on the road of industrialization, and he knows very well that this is an inevitable choice. But it wouldn't ease his mind if he simply affirmed it. But if he recognizes the Forest Spirit, he can only come to the conclusion that "human beings should be destroyed", so he has to add San, a character born in nature. Ashitaka is in a position between San and Lady Eboshi.
Maki Watanabe: But Ashitaka should go back to his village, right? Everyone is waiting for him. Why stay in Irontown? If you make such a choice, you have to go through some struggle, right?
Mamoru Oshii: That's why I said, the old man just hates struggling and tangling. The story itself is difficult to justify, so it can only end in such a forceful way. There is basically no drama in this work, because there is no struggle of values at all. As a film, there are often confusions like "Which direction is this story going?" The reason why it turned out like this is because the problem has been concluded in some aspects. That is to say, civilization will never go backwards, and it is precisely because of the creation of civilization that human beings have become human beings. Those who can really live in nature don't even know that it is nature. If one had never stepped out of the Garden of Eden, one would not even know that one was human. Industrial society is a necessity for human beings, and human beings can only survive by conquering nature. But humans don't want to deny the part of themselves that resonates with nature.
Maki Watanabe: I see.
Mamoru Oshii: The old man made "Princess Mononoke" on the basis of understanding all this, but even if he understands this rationally, he cannot let it go, so he will be divided. So how do you put an end to this split in a movie? He didn't think about it carefully, so "Princess Mononoke" became a film with an incomprehensible ending. Speaking of which, because the world in the movie is not a world of good and evil, children should not understand it. The old man clearly said that he made animation for children, and said that no matter what the real world is like, at least in the work, the black and white of good and evil should be clearly distinguished. This is one of the main tasks of being a director. However, his own work lacks such consistency. Although the theme is grand, it cannot be concluded properly. Of course, it's not just the old man, there are many movies like this.
Maki Watanabe: But the picture is very powerful. This time I re-watched it and felt very emotional.
Mamoru Oshii: Like this, in short, showing you some powerful things and making you accept it in a confused way is the unique magic of the old man's manga films. Although the director and the critics can see through the flaws at a glance and will not be deceived, the animators will be amazed and exclaimed, "Amazing!" after watching it. Of course, he is really good. Whether it is the demon or the Forest Spirit, he has made very, very grand scenes. The movements of all the characters are very neat and beautiful, and the background is also very magnificent. But as for the animals, because I'm a bit of an authority when it comes to the representation of "dogs", the image of Moro doesn't look good at all. The film is full of places like this that (the old man) made with his eyes closed.
Maki Watanabe: That's how it is. I was so shocked that I didn't pay much attention.
Mamoru Oshii: This work is extremely difficult to draw, and it's also very long, isn't it? It's impossible to be perfect. Apart from Moro, there are also some problems with the setting of Irontown. The animator who was in charge of drawing Moro also participated in the production of the movie "Jin-Roh." His performance in "Jin-Roh" was obviously better. Not to mention anything else, the running posture of beasts is a difficult problem for animators, more difficult than birds and horses. For example, the posture of a dog lowering its center of gravity and speeding up will make the animator cry.
Maki Watanabe: The Forest Spirit also looks very unique!
Mamoru Oshii: That's the old man's forte. The little mushroom-like spirits are also his forte. Not only are they rich in movement, but children also especially like them.
Maki Watanabe: Very cute, and adults love it too! (laughs) Later, the scene where the Forest Spirit stepped on the ground and the flowers and plants suddenly grew made people couldn't help but exclaim "Wow," it was really beautiful.
Mamoru Oshii: That part is very sensual, as if you can smell it. It's really sensual, very enchanting. I only admire the part with the Forest Spirit, just like the scene in Totoro where the trees suddenly grow. That's the essence of the animation world. Even if it's done with CG, it can't make that kind of feeling. That is the old man's unique sense of movement, a sense of sensuality, a kind of eroticism unique to plants. The old man is really good at drawing plants. He's definitely better at plants than animals. From this point of view, there are indeed many remarkable scenes in "Princess Mononoke", maybe the character that the old man put more effort into is not San, but the Forest Spirit, which is why everyone is glued to their eyes.
Maki Watanabe: The scene of the Forest Spirit walking on the water, being hit and sinking into the water for a while, and then floating up again… That scene is very touching.
Mamoru Oshii: The old man is also very good at water, he is simply a genius. So, I'm not always picking on him, I'll praise him where it's due. I'm making a fair assessment. There will never be another animator like the old man. It's just that, although I may have said it too many times, he's really not cut out to be a director (laughs).
Maki Watanabe: I re-watched it after a long time. Although there are many problems such as the ending not being closed and the story having loopholes, I am still shocked by the picture.
Mamoru Oshii: If you look at it again after a while, those grand themes will be put aside by everyone, and many parts can be enjoyed separately. Sure enough, the unique sexy charm of this film is irresistible.
Maki Watanabe: But the places made with digital technology are really not good, or because the hand-painted parts are so good, the digital production looks not so good.
Mamoru Oshii: This film used digital technology for the first time, which caused a lot of buzz when it was released. The scene of Ashitaka riding a deer was made using texture mapping, but that doesn't suit the old man. The old man's unique sense of movement and pleasure in the flowing scenery cannot be expressed by texture mapping. I am very sure of this. In fact, this place should be the same as the sea of clouds in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" and the flowing scenery in "Castle in the Sky," all done by hand. But if we did, the work might not be completed.
Maki Watanabe: Another major feature of this film is the voice actors. This time the dubbing lineup is very luxurious.
Mamoru Oshii: Needless to say, this is Suzuki's strategy. Toshiro Mifune, Akira Emoto, Masahiko Nishimura, Yuko Tanaka, and even Mitsuko Mori were invited. Ghibli has also invited many actors to be voice actors before, but this is the first time that there have been so many. Almost all the main characters are well-known stars. Every Japanese can conjure up the faces of these stars in their minds.
Maki Watanabe: San is voiced by actress Yuriko Ishida, and Ashitaka is voiced by Yoji Matsuda. Mr. Matsuda voiced Asbel in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind."
Mamoru Oshii: Speaking of San just now, speaking of the lack of presence of this character, she doesn't look like the beautiful girl depicted by the old man at all. One of the reasons is that her voice didn't move people's hearts. Also, why Akira Emoto? Do you have this question?
Maki Watanabe: But didn't Mr. Oshii's "Sky Crawlers" also use actress Rinko Kikuchi? And Ryo Kase.
Mamoru Oshii: But not many Japanese knew Rinko Kikuchi at the time, right? As for why Ryo Kase was used, it's a long story... But the reason why I used Rinko was because I thought no one in Japan knew her, so it didn't matter.
Maki Watanabe: How come, I know her. After all, she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for "Babel" and has attracted a lot of attention.
Mamoru Oshii: That's because Miss Maki, you are in the film industry, but ordinary Japanese people don't know. And it was also because I liked her very much after meeting her once. Looking back on it now, she was wearing a black dress very similar to the one worn by the young Motoko at the end of "Ghost in the Shell."
Maki Watanabe: Was that intentional?
Mamoru Oshii: It's very possible. She seemed very positive and motivated at the time, which is what an actor should be. It is very important to have the momentum of "must win this role." Mélanie St-Pierre in "Garzey's Wing" is also like this, with a kappa hairstyle and a gun in the audition video.
Maki Watanabe: I didn't expect it to be so easy to capture Mr. Oshii's heart. A kappa hairstyle with a gun is all it takes (laughs).
Mamoru Oshii: What are you talking about! It's important whether it fits or not. That's the key. Let's not mention this for the time being, why don't I like this voice actor lineup very much? Because I watched the whole film at the luxurious premiere, and they stood on the stage in a row. These faces were very powerful, and the number of people was extraordinary.
Maki Watanabe: I've always had a question about letting actors be voice actors. Does letting Yuriko Ishida dub really attract audiences? It won't be the driving force to make people want to watch a movie, right?
Mamoru Oshii: Suzuki's strategy is "to do everything that can be done." Having celebrities lined up can get media attention, and Toshiro Mifune was more famous than Hayao Miyazaki back then, wasn't he? He didn't want to attract audiences with Yuriko Ishida, it was just a strategy to get media attention. Before the release, it was Suzuki's job to raise awareness of the film. First of all, "Princess Mononoke" is a very important work in every sense, and it must sell well, otherwise its investment scale will bankrupt Ghibli.
Maki Watanabe: It's a work that has put all its efforts into it.
Mamoru Oshii: Yes. The old man also made agrand structure in his mind, putting all his heart into it. Toshio Suzuki's efforts made this work a success in distribution. As I said just now, there are various sensitive issues in this work born from the old man's whims and fantasies, so Suzuki is responsible for the aftermath. You may have forgotten that there has never been a scene in a previous animation where a head or an arm is chopped off like in this work. When it was first released, every animation studio was talking about "Princess Mononoke," saying, "That old Miyazaki actually drew so many scenes of beheadings and severed limbs!" What does this mean? It can only be said that the old man has become unstoppable. What Suzuki said didn't work, it was completely out of control. In my opinion, this sign appeared in the "Porco Rosso" period. At that time, I let him do what he liked. On the other hand, Toshio Suzuki had to work harder to get the word out.
Maki Watanabe: Having said that, it has created a big-selling record in film history, which is very remarkable.
Mamoru Oshii: Judging from the results, it was a big hit at the box office, so it became more and more unstoppable.
In this way, the two consecutive films were created as they pleased, but the two works are completely different. The arbitrariness of "Porco Rosso" is a personal thing. But "Princess Mononoke" talks about Japan, nature, human beings, and even the theory of civilization. The old man put all the things he was interested in and studied into it, proposed a grand theme, and created it as an "author." That is to say, he officially debuted as an author.
Maki Watanabe: So, "Princess Mononoke" is a masterpiece of director Hayao Miyazaki, right?
Mamoru Oshii: Masterpiece? He hasn't even "mastered" it yet. Just put together interests and knowledge. No editing, no structure, just a list of content.
Maki Watanabe: Then how should it be evaluated?
Mamoru Oshii: Clearing inventory. No, it's more accurate to say picking up and shipping. Because he moved all the stock out.

2024.05.29 08:24 Subject-Degree-4437 My ex step dad is trying to steal my mothers life insurance pay out
Hello,
My mother and step father divorced in 2015. My mother sadly passed away from cancer in early 2022. After a long wait I finally submitted all the paper work to the life insurance company. I ended up finding out that I was initially the secondary beneficiary as my mother failed to remove her ex husband as the primary. The company initially told me all I needed to do was submit the divorce decree. Months later they sent me a withdrawal of claim form (without explanation).
Long story short after making numerous phone calls they told me I need to have my mom’s ex husband sign the withdrawal of claim form or I will have to take him to court. The manager I spoke with me assured me since I was my mom’s biological son and she divorced him that Ultimately I will receive the pay out.
I’m feeling extremely sad and betrayed about this as this man raised me and I considered him to be my father.
Has anyone been through this? Is there anything I should know? Do you have advice?
Also the divorce took place in Oklahoma.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.29 08:18 Dry-Violinist-4864 The Thing in the Woods
Hello. My name is David and I’m from a small city in Michigan off the the coast of Lake Michigan that is mostly known for its high crime rate and high school sports teams. In this post I’m going to recount a meeting my family, friends and I had when I was 18.
The year was 2015, I had just graduated high school and I was working my first job. I resided in a trailer park that was located just off the beach, in between the beach and my trailer park was a small forest, and in that forest was a sand factory that stored sand to sell. I had 3 close friends that lived in the neighborhood around the trailer park. Ryan, Brett, and Bob. My Step Dad worked as a cab driver, and I worked as a burger flipper, which left my mother at home alone most days. Our trailer was located right at the back of the park and only the trees separated our trailer from the sand factory field.
So the trailer we lived in was old and beat up, it had siding missing underneath it leaving it open for any animals that could possibly wonder underneath. The first time hearing this thing, it sounded as if two cats were chasing eachother full speed underneath our trailer. We could feel it from one end to the other. This was in the early days of June and we didn’t think nothing of it, being that we lived in a trailer park that was infested with stray cats.
Sometime in the middle of the month a neighbor approached my mom and advised her to get our siding fixed as she had seen an abnormally large raccoon exit from underneath our trailer in the early morning hours.
Now my mom being left alone every night began to hear noises in the trees right behind our house. She described these noises as a monkey screaming at the top of its lungs as loud as it could. She would try to explain what was going on to me when I got out of work every night but I didn’t think much of it. Until one day I heard the noises too. Neighbors started to complain their pets were coming up missing. And things started to get kind of creepy.
That’s when my mom met Luigi. Luigi was a large black man that stayed with his mom in the trailer park, I think my mom was standing outside one night smoking some weed when he walked by and they struck up a casual conversation. Then he started in on his personal experience without any prior knowledge to my mom’s experience. One night he was coming home and it was late. He seen a creature at the end of his road which he believed was a dog. This had to be at least 50 yards from him. It began to approach him. He didn’t pay it no mind, that is until it stood up. He described this creature as an all white beast that resembled a monkey, with pitch black pupils that stared in his sole. It began to run at him. He ran into his home as fast as he could and before he could shut the door this creature shoved his hand in the door blocking it from closing. Luigi is at least 6’6 250 pounds and this man was screaming for his mother. When this thing finally left his home, it stole the lid off of his garbage can.
This prompted my mother to figure out what the hell this creature was. It scared the shit out of her, and intrigued her at the very same time. It haunted her thoughts. Still to this day it does. Her beliefs as to why this creature exists and what it is haunt her as well. It traumatized her. If I wasn’t so young and naive it probably would do the same to me, I don’t live to far from where I used to live, and I still find myself shutting my doors on certain summer nights when I hear things outside that don’t sound too promising.
So following her hearing Luigi’s story and continuing to hear the creature’s scream in the evening hours, my mom began to ask around. Surprisingly, not very many of the residents had seen or heard anything, which is crazy because allot of our neighbors had spent allot of time outside.
One night my friends Brett, Ryan, Bob and I were hanging out at my house when we heard it screaming. It was already pretty dark out, but this prompted all of us, my mom included to investigate. We first walked around the trailer park. We ended up meeting one of the residents who accompanied us out of pure interest that it was the chupa cobra, haha. We didn’t find any evidence of the creature in the trailer park so we decided to cross into the woods and venture into the sandlot next to the park. None of us had ever went in there before, it was tresspassing.
So the trailer park sat on a 4 way corner, and on one side towards Lake Michigan was the sandlot, and the other side of the park was the factory that ran the sandlot. The sandlot was full of big Sandhills that were at least 20 feet tall, and a pond separated the lot from the factory. There was a trail from the entrance of the lot that curves around the hills and off into a wooded area. And in between these hills were patches of grass that were at least 4-5 feet tall.
That night we went in there our search for this creature was unsuccessful, that resident we had befriended abandoned us once he had learned of our plans to trespass, so it was just the 5 of us. We were armed with a flash light and a BB gun. We were too stupid to realize if we had an encounter we probably didn’t stand a chance. We walked around on the trail for a little bit thinking every noise and movement was the creature and we ventured maybe 20 feet into the dark woods before we decided to turn around because we were all too chicken shit to continue going further.
The crazy thing is that this sandlot was separated by about a mile long stretch of woods that lead up to the beach, and me and my buddy’s would camp in these woods at the beach a ton this summer. And on our walks back every morning I would find myself staring into these woods, scanning them for any sign of the creature, all while feeling like I was being watched.
About a week after our first search, my 3 friends and I found ourselves talking about the creature. Ryan thought the whole thing was bs, he thought my mom was insane. So we decided to venture into the sandlot once again, this time to prove him wrong. We armed ourselves with knives and the BB gun and a flashlight. We entered the lot just next to the entrance this time, I had flip flops on and decided to take them off at the entrance and leave them where we entered, hidden in the woods.
This time around we spent searching harder, we had grew more ballsy and we really wanted to see this thing. We ventured into the dark trail deeper, and eventually we found ourselves on the beach of the pond that separated the lot from the factory. It was covered in these weird footprints that had 3 long toes in the front and one long toe in the back. There were two sizes, one was about 5 to 6 inches and the other was about 2-3 inches. The whole beach was covered in them, we were too intrigued with these prints to realize that the security at the factory had spotted us tresspassing. We decided to split up, me and Bob and Ryan and Brett. We were on one side of a giant sand hill and they were on the other side. Little did any of us know, the creature was on top of the very hill that separated our small group. We heard it shriek, it was a blood curtailing cry, before we could even react it had launched itself to the ground, it stood there dead in the middle of the pass, it’s eyes pitch black, it’s body covered in white fur, it towered over us, it had to have been at least 7 feet tall, with noticeable muscle definition, arms that slunk down to its knees and long ears that resembled Momo from Avatar the last Airbender. Withen seconds it launched itself into the trees on the other side of the path.
Bob and I didn’t even have a moment to absorb what we just saw, I know we were both trembling in fear, as soon as that thing had gotten in the trees a big light hit those same woods, and the sound of talking and a running engine became clearer. We both realized it was the security guards from the factory investigating the trespassers on their property. We ran for the grass that stood 5 feet tall and laid on the ground face first. We could feel them shine their big light on us for what felt like 10 years. When the sound of the engine finally drifted away, we high tailed it out of there. I was barefoot running as fast I could through thorns and prickers, I didn’t even stop to grab my sandals.
I’m not entirely sure what we did afterwards, I’m not sure whose house we went to or what we talked about. What I do know is that we never attempted to search for that thing again, and the agonizing screams from it were never again heard by any of us. I only lived in that park for a few more weeks before I moved.
For those reading this thinking it’s a creative fictional story about a group of friends trying to fight a scary monster, it’s not. This is a recounting of a meeting with an ungodly creature, and the reason I’m sharing this is because besides Bob, Luigi and myself, I don’t know anybody that’s seen it. I don’t know what it’s capable of. I don’t know why it exists, and I’m not even sure if it’s still alive or not. So I’m posting this ultimately in search of answers, whether it be similar encounters, pictures, videos or stories. If anybody has ever heard those angry, almost painful screams, screams that no human could mimic, please tell me your story.

2024.05.29 08:12 drchitra What are some common factors that may contribute to a high-risk pregnancy?
High-risk pregnancies are those that have a higher chance of complications for the mother, baby, or both. Several factors can contribute to a pregnancy being classified as high-risk.
Here are some common ones: Maternal Age
- Advanced Maternal Age: Women who are 35 years or older at the time of delivery are at higher risk for complications such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome.
- Teen Pregnancy: Pregnancies in teenagers (especially those under 17) can also be considered high-risk due to potential complications like preterm birth and low birth weight.
Pre-existing Medical Conditions
- Diabetes: Women with pre-existing diabetes or those who develop gestational diabetes are at higher risk for complications like preeclampsia, birth defects, and macrosomia (having a large baby).
- Hypertension: Chronic high blood pressure can lead to conditions like preeclampsia, placental abruption, and preterm birth.
- Autoimmune Disorders: Conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis can increase risks for both the mother and the baby.
- Thyroid Disorders: Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can affect pregnancy outcomes if not properly managed.
- Heart Disease: Women with heart conditions are at higher risk for complications during pregnancy and delivery.
- Kidney Disease: Pre-existing kidney issues can worsen during pregnancy and lead to complications like preeclampsia and preterm birth.
Pregnancy-related Conditions
- Preeclampsia: Characterized by high blood pressure and signs of damage to other organ systems, this condition can be serious for both mother and baby.
- Gestational Diabetes: This type of diabetes develops during pregnancy and can lead to complications such as high birth weight and preterm birth.
- Multiple Gestation: Pregnancies with twins, triplets, or more increase the risk of preterm birth, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia.
- Placenta Previa: When the placenta covers the cervix, it can cause severe bleeding during pregnancy and delivery.
- Preterm Labor: Labor that begins before 37 weeks of gestation can lead to complications for the baby, including respiratory issues and developmental delays.
Lifestyle and Social Factors
- Smoking: Increases the risk of preterm birth, low birth weight, and developmental issues.
- Alcohol and Drug Use: Can lead to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs), preterm birth, and congenital disabilities.
- Obesity: Associated with gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and the need for a cesarean delivery.
- Lack of Prenatal Care: Inadequate medical care during pregnancy can result in undiagnosed and unmanaged complications.
Obstetric History
- Previous Preterm Birth: A history of preterm birth can increase the risk of future preterm deliveries.
- History of Pregnancy Loss: Recurrent miscarriages or stillbirths can indicate underlying health issues that need careful management.
- Previous Cesarean Delivery: Increases the risk of complications in subsequent pregnancies, such as uterine rupture or placenta accreta.
Genetic Factors
- Family History of Genetic Disorders: Conditions like cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, or other inherited disorders can pose risks.
- Previous Child with a Genetic Disorder: Having had a child with a genetic condition can increase the likelihood of recurrence.
Infections
- Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Infections like HIV, syphilis, and herpes can affect pregnancy outcomes.
- Other Infections: Conditions like urinary tract infections, cytomegalovirus, and rubella can pose risks to the mother and baby.
Environmental Exposures
- Exposure to Toxins: Exposure to certain chemicals, pollutants, or radiation can affect pregnancy.
- Work-related Risks: Physically demanding jobs or exposure to harmful substances at work can contribute to complications.
Psychological Factors
- High Levels of Stress: Chronic stress can impact pregnancy outcomes, potentially leading to preterm birth or low birth weight.
- Mental Health Conditions: Conditions such as depression and anxiety need to be managed carefully during pregnancy.
Women with
high-risk pregnancies typically require more frequent prenatal visits, specialized care, and possibly interventions to manage potential complications. Consulting with a healthcare provider early and regularly can help in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure the best possible outcome for both mother and baby

2024.05.29 08:09 burners2020933 How to sell coaching / digital products through paid ads - from a $10M marketer
There’s a lot of skepticism when it comes to this industry, even if you’re legit and peoples BS meters are at an all time high
However, as Elon musk said “good products will always sell”
Let’s start off by talking about what you sell.
If you’re selling your knowledge or offering to teach someone something, you HAVE to make sure it’s good, there’s no point of you trying to take a shortcut and sell BS. Take the time to get really good at the craft you’re in before trying to sell it
Now let’s switch and talk about strategy
Landing page: Make sure to have a landing page that is professionally designed and looks nice. You can use page builders like pagefly, replo, Elementor, website, clickfunnels, go high level, etc. make sure at the very top you have a VSL video (go watch a YT if you don’t know what this is) and have a lead form signup right next to that video on the landing page.
Ads: I would start off with 5-15 UGC style video ads with captions 1:1 size orientation and 10 image ads that are clean, minimalistic, and visually engaging with short text giving an idea on what it is you’re trying to sell. As they say, a picture can tell a thousand words.
Once you have your creative assets, run on Facebook with 3:2:2 campaign setup. 1 CBO campaign with 3 adsets with dynamic creative testing turned on. Each ad should have 1:1 size orientation. Add 2 primary and headline text options
With this setup you are more likely to get conversions / leads. Run lead ads if you are selling higher ticket product and create a process for sales. Do conversions if it’s straight digital course / product.
That’s the basic stuff. Run the campaign for 7 days with $100 daily spend if you’re doing conversion campaign, and $20-$50 or more if leads. Leads are cheaper to run from my experience but it highly depends on a number of factors such as CPM, CTR, etc. Some people think it’s impossible to get good results from $20 daily spend. I ran ads for many companies that got a $1 CPL and only spend $20 daily. Remember it just depends on a lot of different factors.
Ever heard of the ascension model? Well listen up because it’s about to get advanced here
Let’s say you have a proven offeproduct/ social proof and you want to scale. There’s many ways and the ascension model is one of them.
The way it works is to run a low ticket product or offer to get a customer, then upsell them into higher programs and coaching. The beautiful thing about this model is you just need to break even on ad spend to acquire customers, then make money on upselling people to a bigger program or course.
For example, if I get 200 sales of an info product while breaking even on adspend, I only need to convert like 10 people or less @ $2-3k to hit $20-$30k in profit. Make sure you sell good stuff or else this whole thing won’t work, I guarantee it.
If you got any questions, or need access to my network just ping me. I know some people who can make ads, landing pages, etc. this community needs to focus more on being positive and helping others thru network. Feel free to share resources also! Thanks for reading

If not, please redirect me to where I should post this. I have recently received emails from NetCredit. It said something along the lines of "Dear Applicant: You are receiving this notice because you applied for a NetCredit product through Monevo." See attached picture. There recently were three emails and it seems I also received an email to my single-use code for Microsoft account. I think someone might've used my email. I haven't heard of NetCredit before and definitely have not applied for loan. I actually first received this a few years ago and at first, I thought this is just a scam so I did not click any link and chose to ignore it. But just now, I received the same emails with the same name. (By this I mean, someone signed up an account at NetCredit using my email but using their name and address). Can you please help me how to deal with this? submitted by TheOrangeHelium to Scams [link] [comments] |

With an exterior dimension of 30 inches in width, 25 inches in depth, and 55 inches in height, it offers enough space for up to 36 long guns and more. It's built with sturdy 14-gauge steel for added security, and the interior comes in a light gray color that complements the textured black exterior. The Inspector 36 features an easy-to-use digital lock system with a key backup, providing dependable access to your safe. The full-seam welds and a 40-minute fire rating (at 1400°F) give you the peace of mind you need, knowing that your belongings will be safely stored even during emergencies. While its simplicity does away with any unnecessary frills, the Inspector 36 offers three adjustable or removable shelves, a u-shaped gun rack, and an included organizational door panel, making storage a breeze. The safe can be a great fit for medium-sized families or moderate collectors looking for extra security. One thing to note is that some users have had issues with the combination change mechanism, which may require some extra effort to remove. Nevertheless, the Inspector 36 has proven to be a solid and functional safe for those who prioritize affordability. https://preview.redd.it/sd3njb270b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d6ab53a984f81932b98cc96a363712764db7448 I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Snapsafe 75011 Super Titan Modular Gun Safe, and let me tell you, it left quite an impression. This bad boy assembles in minutes without needing any additional tools, thanks to its convenient modular assembly system. The sledgehammer and pry bar-resistant 3/16" solid steel door gives me peace of mind, knowing that my valuables are well protected. One thing that stood out to me was the 9 gauge steel exterior walls, which provide a sturdy and reliable barrier. And with a UL Listed 1-hour fire rating, my mind is put at ease knowing that my fireproof gun safe can withstand some serious heat. However, there were a few things that didn't quite live up to my expectations. The lock mechanism felt a bit cheap and had some slop to it, which wasn't exactly reassuring. Additionally, the bolts used for assembly were not the strongest, and a couple of them actually sheared during the process. It's worth mentioning that some users have also reported gaps between the side and front panels, which could potentially compromise the overall functionality of the safe. All in all, the Snapsafe 75011 Super Titan Modular Gun Safe has its moments, but it's not flawless. If you're in the market for a fireproof gun safe with some extra features and the convenience of a modular design, this might be the one for you. Just be prepared for some minor hiccups along the way. https://preview.redd.it/5wmmn6970b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b6cd77f79a22434085817ca6a12a7eb90d9ad06 During my search for a reliable gun safe, I stumbled upon the Sports Afield Preserve Series SA5940. With a capacity of up to 40 long guns and 8 handguns, this safe seemed ideal for storing and securing my collection. One of the standout features of this safe is its fully programmable electric lock, which includes two backup keys in case of an emergency. The convenient Easy Touch keypad makes access easy, and the lock provides peace of mind when storing valuable items. Another impressive feature is the fully carpeted interior, sidewalls, shelves, and barrel rests. This not only enhances the appearance of the safe but also protects against scratches, ensuring that my firearms remain in pristine condition. The safe arrived with a UL approved power outlet and four pre-cut anchor holes with a bolt down kit and waterproof washers, making the installation process hassle-free. One of the cons I discovered is that the package arrived with a small dent in the door. Although this didn't impact the safety or functionality of the safe itself, it was a minor inconvenience. Additionally, the delivery process was slightly more expensive than I had anticipated, with delivery agents dropping the safe off at my residence. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Sports Afield Preserve Series SA5940 has proven to be a reliable and sturdy safety deposit for my valuable firearms, worth every penny. https://preview.redd.it/82sb46n70b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cad718d497267566f8e760fe74fe519f1392348e The Mesa MBF7236C Gun & Rifle Safe has been my reliable partner in keeping my valuable gun collection and prized possessions secure. This safe has surpassed my expectations in terms of functionality and build quality. One of the standout features of this safe is its electronic lock with a digital keypad. It's user-friendly and secure, allowing me to easily access my safe without any fuss. The three-user electronic lock system ensures that only authorized individuals can gain access to it. In terms of build quality, the safe's construction is impressive, boasting an all-steel exterior. It's quite spacious, with a capacity of 42 rifles, and the interior is well designed, providing ample space for storing guns, documents, and other valuables. The safe's structure is solid and sturdy, offering robust protection against burglary and fires. While I love the safe's build quality and functionalities, there have been a few minor drawbacks. The combination lock sometimes feels a bit flimsy, and the power cord can protrude quite a bit, making it a bit of an inconvenience. However, these issues are relatively minor and do not detract from the safe's overall performance. In conclusion, the Mesa MBF7236C Gun & Rifle Safe has proven to be a reliable and practical solution for storing my precious firearms and valuables. Despite a few minor inconsistencies, the safe has surpassed my expectations and provided me with the peace of mind I was looking for. I highly recommend this safe to anyone in need of reliable and secure storage for their firearms and valuables. https://preview.redd.it/7n1dw7780b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b97ccb5e9e3bad46d58377f6bc6e248c66e87967 The Liberty USA Series 36 gun safe is a versatile and practical option for those looking to protect their gun collection. With a level 2 security system and 60 minutes of fire protection at 1200°F, you can have peace of mind knowing your belongings are safe. The safe comes equipped with a Secu-Ram toplit electronic lock and factory-installed door storage panel. One of the standout features is the ability to remotely monitor humidity, temperature, door status, and vibration. Although it may not be the largest or most fancy safe on the market, the Liberty USA Series 36 offers a great balance between size, security, and affordability. The safe is made in the USA and comes with a reliable reputation for customer satisfaction. The only downside I found was the slightly cheaper construction compared to more expensive options, but overall, it's a solid choice for gun owners on a budget. https://preview.redd.it/szrkj4k80b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=130efe535cbc9e55b431f200d140202255b2dae6 My personal experience with the Liberty Safe was a game-changer. Not long ago, I moved into a new home, just like many others do, and I wanted to ensure the security of my valuables - especially my firearms. I came across this majestic black safe, and let me tell you, it not only looked the part, but it performed even better. The solid and sturdy construction was quite impressive, and the electronic lock provided the much-needed peace of mind. The safe was spacious enough to house my 36 guns and other essential documents, without needing to compromise on the fireproof rating which was a massive 40 minutes at 1200 degrees F. What's more, the safe was delivered to my doorstep by the team from Nebraska Furniture Mart, who were as professional as they were gentle with the furniture. The only slight inconvenience was dealing with the heavyweight, but the NFM team managed it seamlessly. In conclusion, the Liberty Safe was a significant investment in my home security. It's a safe that combines functionality and aesthetics while prioritizing the safety of its contents. So yes, it's worth the purchase and the effort, if you're serious about safeguarding your valuables. https://preview.redd.it/z36kc1w80b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a90725a2866d3deaf8305aa227682d11df1493b I recently had the opportunity to try out the Liberty USA 36 Gun Safe, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. The first thing that caught my eye was its size - it's not too big or too small, just the perfect fit for a growing collection of firearms. The interior is designed with flexibility in mind, with a 3-in-1 flex interior, so you can easily customize the layout to suit your needs. One of the key features that stood out to me was the safety aspect. This safe boasts 60 minutes of certified fire protection at 1200°, which provides a level of security that's hard to find in other safes at this price point. With a level 2 security rating, my valuables felt well protected. However, there were a few aspects that didn't quite meet my expectations. For starters, the door only opens up to about 90 degrees, which was a bit of a pain when trying to access the safe in a tight space. Additionally, if you have scoped hunting rifles or double-barrel shotguns, you might run into some difficulties fitting them into the available slots due to the door's design. Despite these minor setbacks, I was overall very impressed with the Liberty USA 36 Gun Safe. Its combination of features, safety, and affordability make it an appealing choice for first-time safe buyers. And let's not forget the fantastic customer service I received from the Liberty team - they went above and beyond to ensure a smooth buying experience. So, if you're in the market for a reliable and feature-rich gun safe without breaking the bank, this might just be the one for you. https://preview.redd.it/iyrvzxe90b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ea3dad503ddbba265e57d3d3b76a34cee3620af With its sleek modular design, the Snapsafe Super Titan XL Double Door Modular Gun Safe quickly stood out in my home. As someone who constantly moves between temporary living situations, this safe's easy assembly without the need for additional tools proved to be a game-changer. The 3/16-inch solid-steel door provided the security I desired, and the 2300°F one-hour fire shield protection was a major highlight. However, the safe's 36-long gun storage capacity felt a bit limited for my needs, and the instructions could have been more detailed. Overall, I found the Snapsafe Super Titan XL Double Door to be a fantastic investment for any firearm enthusiast, despite a few minor drawbacks. https://preview.redd.it/u4wi0jn90b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7567a74a3be1fd370c48c92532eed01b90ab380 As a guns enthusiast, I recently decided to upgrade my security measures and purchased the Sports Afield Preserve Series SA7240P gun safe. This safe has exceeded my expectations in terms of style and functionality. Firstly, the electric lock with an easy-touch keypad is a game-changer. I can now easily program a code for quick access, and it comes with two backup keys in case of emergencies. Furthermore, the gun capacity of up to 60 long guns and 8 handguns is perfect for my collection, allowing me to store them securely. One feature that stands out is the adjustable interior, which is highly adaptable for all types of valuables. It provides a convenient spot for my ammunition and other essentials as well. The coated "S" shaped shelf pistol hangers allow me to store my pistols with ease, making it a functional and neat storage solution. Although the outer dimensions fit my requirements, moving the 653-pound beast has been a challenge. However, the durable construction and the steel bolt size of 1.5 inches provide the strong and secure protection I desired. In summary, this gun safe is a great value for the price and offers numerous features that make storing my collection a safe and efficient process. I recommend it to anyone in the market for a secure gun safe. https://preview.redd.it/ryrahh1a0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5176072810f8d2448948307806024d57feb872f8 I've been using the Remington Gun Club 36 Plus Gun Safe for quite some time now, and I must say it's lived up to its reputation of offering consistent, secure, and feature-filled protection for my collection. The fireproof and waterproof capabilities are a lifesaver, as I've always been worried about those catastrophes. The programmable electronic lock gives me peace of mind, knowing that my collection is safely locked away. As for the interior, the full carpeting and quilted door organizer make it feel like a VIP treatment for my guns. The only drawback I've noticed is slightly limited storage capacity for a truly extensive collection, but other than that minor inconvenience, I'm absolutely pleased with its performance. https://preview.redd.it/xjkm30ka0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3ca4a953b1c0cf346710843c96d603c9b8c47324 Picture this: after a long day of hunting, you come back home, weary and proud, with your latest catch. You open the door to your den, and there it stands - the Remington Nitro 36-Gun Safe, your trusty companion, ready to protect your prized possessions. It's a sight that fills you with a sense of security, knowing that your guns and valuables are safe from any perils. The first thing that strikes you is the sheer size of the safe, but don't let that intimidate you. The 11-gauge Uni-Weld steel body is not just impressive; it's also heavy-duty, providing the much-needed strength to safeguard your precious belongings. And yes, it might be a bit of a workout to move it around, but trust me, the effort is worth it. Now, let's talk about the lock. The Remington Nitro 36-Gun Safe comes equipped with a backlit SecuRam UL Rated E-Lock with a key backup. It's not just a lock; it's a statement. It gives you peace of mind, knowing that your safe is secure and protected from any unauthorized access. The backlit feature is a thoughtful addition, making it easy to access even in low light conditions. But that's not all. The safe also boasts of a UL Rated Dual Outlet with 2 USB Ports, keeping your devices powered up and ready for action. And if you're worried about the safe's ability to withstand fire, worry not. It's fire-rated for 90 minutes at 1800 degrees, ensuring your valuables are protected even in the toughest of situations. And here's the cherry on top - the Remington Nitro 36-Gun Safe is not just fire-resistant; it's also waterproof. It can withstand being submerged in water for up to 7 days in 2 feet of water, making it practically indestructible. Now, as much as I love this safe, there are a few things that could be improved. The vertical bars that support the shelves are not even, which makes it difficult to level the shelves. And don't get me started on the delivery. It arrived undamaged, but the shipping experience was less than satisfactory. Despite these minor hiccups, the Remington Nitro 36-Gun Safe is an impressive piece of equipment. It combines style, strength, and security, making it the perfect companion for any avid hunter. So, if you're in the market for a gun safe that is both practical and inspiring, look no further than the Remington Nitro 36-Gun Safe. https://preview.redd.it/mx8z5dva0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b8fb51940c2316ffbd4e1626de4987f8b135cf1 I recently had the opportunity to try out the Liberty Safe & Security Product 243416 USA 36 Gun Safe. Initially, I was skeptical about its ability to provide top-notch security for my firearms, but my experience with this safe proved me wrong. The textured black finish not only made it look sleek, but also added an extra layer of durability. The safe features a 36-gun capacity and an electronic lock, which I found incredibly user-friendly. The 60-minute fire rating was my main concern, but the safe exceeded my expectations in that department as well. It kept my firearms and other valuable belongings secure and protected during testing. However, I did notice a few drawbacks. The safe's dimensions were larger than I initially anticipated, which meant it required more space than I had originally planned for. Additionally, while the warranty period is satisfactory, I would have preferred a longer one given the price point. Overall, the Liberty Safe & Security Product 243416 USA 36 Gun Safe offered a great balance of security and affordability, and I am pleased with my decision to purchase it. https://preview.redd.it/wths7abb0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80d783e83287611a46a3c8ebed6789035998b33f The NewAge Products Pro Series Black 36 in. Secure Gun Cabinet has been a reliable addition to my home, offering a safe and protected space for my firearms and hunting gear. Made from heavy-gauge welded steel with double-walled doors, this cabinet exudes robustness and durability in its construction. One feature that particularly stands out is the 3-point locking system, providing an added layer of security to ensure only authorized individuals have access to the cabinet. The California DOJ Certification further adds to my peace of mind, knowing that the Secure Gun Cabinet has been tested and adheres to strict safety requirements. While it's not lightweight and requires a team to move, the solid build and the feeling of uncompromised protection it offers are worth the effort. I've had a great experience with the NewAge Products Secure Gun Cabinet and highly recommend it to those seeking a robust and dependable storage solution for their firearms and equipment. https://preview.redd.it/1j89oqkb0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53043a8f761e4f87ad89bcd18f95a1aa7d384a31 As a gun owner, the thought of having our firearms stolen or damaged due to unforeseeable events is always looming. Thankfully, the Sports Afield Haven Series SA5930HX-B Haven 36-Gun Safe has come to the rescue. This biometric gun safe is designed to keep our firearms and valuables safe from theft, fire, and water damage. The safe's size is rather substantial, with an external length of 59 inches, width of 30 inches, and depth of 25 inches. On the inside, you'll find an internal volume of 15.75 cubic feet, providing ample space for our treasured possessions. Weighing a hefty 560 lbs, this long gun safe is not one you'd want to move around often. One of the most impressive features of this safe is its Triple Seal fire and water protection, combined with a full-seam Uni-Weld body. This provides an additional layer of safety, ensuring our valuables remain dry and protected even in the event of a flood or fire. Programming the biometric lock can be a bit of a headache, but once set up, it works like a charm, offering a high level of security. The safe includes an electronic lock with illuminated buttons, programmable for up to 100 unique fingerprints. In case of a power outage, the two Fail Safe override keys serve as a handy backup solution. The interior of the safe is fully carpeted and boasts bright interior lighting, making it easier to locate your items. It comes with adjustable/removable top and side shelves, as well as a premium pocket door organizer, allowing for easy arrangement of your things. The safe also features 36 barrel rest positions and 6 handgun holsters, providing ample storage for our firearms. However, it would be nice if the safe came with more shelf options, giving us the flexibility to customize it to our needs. Additionally, the delivery experience can be a bit of a nightmare, as one customer attested. In conclusion, while there are a few cons to this product, they do not outweigh the benefits that this biometric gun safe offers. With its robust construction and multiple layers of protection, the Sports Afield Haven Series SA5930HX-B Haven 36-Gun Safe certainly earns its place as a premium option for gun owners. https://preview.redd.it/z5n3wvyb0b3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30267cd8e4f25c9c53a2c77b3c048aa7419c5739 I recently had the opportunity to test out the American Security SF6036E5 36 Gun Gun Safe, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. The first thing that stood out to me was the sturdy construction - with its 3/16 steel plate door and layered drywall for optimal fire protection. The locking mechanism was a breeze to use, and I felt reassured knowing my firearms were secure. One of the most impressive features was the interior capacity. It easily accommodated all of my guns, and the adjustable ball bearing hinges allowed for easier organization. The premium door organizer (PDO) was a game-changer, providing quick access to commonly used items and maximizing storage space. However, there are a few areas where the SF6036E5 could use some improvement. The textured black exterior and plush gray interior felt a bit more high-maintenance than I would have preferred. Additionally, I found that the optional combination lock didn't quite live up to its promises, making it a bit of a pain to operate. Overall, the American Security SF6036E5 36 Gun Gun Safe is a solid choice for anyone in the market for a reliable and secure gun safe. With its impressive features and high capacity, it's definitely worth considering. Buyer's Guide 36-Gun safes are an essential purchase for anyone looking for a secure way to store their firearms. Some safes may have the option to expand or contract, depending on your future needs, so choose a model that offers flexibility. Security Features A 36-Gun safe should have robust security features to protect your valuable firearms. Look for models with heavy-duty construction, solid materials, and durable hardware. Locking mechanisms, such as electronic keypads, combination dials, or keyed locks, should offer high security. Some safes may also have additional features, like drill resistance or anchor points, which can help deter potential thieves. Shelves that slide out or adjustable positions are ideal, as they allow you to customize the storage space according to your needs. Built-in LED lighting can also enhance visibility and accessibility within the safe. Additional Conveniences While security and capacity are the primary concerns when buying a 36-Gun safe, some additional features can improve your overall experience. 2024.05.29 07:40 Subject-Degree-4437 My ex-stepfather is disputing my mothers life insurance
Hello,
My mother and step father divorced in 2015.
Do you have any advice?
Also the divorce took place in Oklahoma.
Thanks in advance!
