2024.05.29 11:35 FAbbibo This is a rant about support: from an ex support player, I'm sorry
I've started playing league as a support and now I switched to adc because it's more fun, basically, I am so sorry.
I've played a game with a rakan that had the IQ of a potato, and the best part it's that he doesn't get punished! Support is the only role in the game which does not get punished for playing bad.
Toplaners get shit on, junglers lose their own jungle, midlaners already lost dignity for playing midlane and adcs are not even champions anymore but supports can just go somewhere else and try again!
This is an exscuse to every adc I've wronged, I am deeply sorry

2024.05.29 11:29 NeedsToStepUp [rant] Ball of Spiders
This card is frustrating to play against. I board wiped the hunter 4 times and still die to a combination of ball of spiders, saddle up and RC rampage + jungle gym.
Golly, how does one handle all those creatures? full board recovery after 1 board wipe. Repeat 4 times and still die :/
See rant tag. I am trying to play a normal game of hearthstone :/

2024.05.29 11:18 Xilmi Had one of my most satisfying games yesterday and want to talk about it
Some stats first for reference:
Ranked SoloQ, Bronze 4 ELO Our top-lane finished the game with 2/23/2 and our mid-lane had 0/14/8. But the rest of us overcame the nigh impossible odds and still managed to somehow pull it off. I don't remember having such an emotional outburst before when the enemy-nexus went down.
I think I learned a lot when it comes on "how to play when behind" in that game. My own stats as jungler were 13-2-7 and I had, what I think is my best CS ever with 9.8/min. My early game went poorly. I mis-bought on my first back and instead of klicking undo I klicked sell and lost some gold this way. And then I even donated a kill to the enemy-top-laner. I didn't feel like I could dare to contest drakes because the enemy-jungler was already quite a bit ahead and there wasn't really any prio for us since bot was kinda equal and mid was losing pretty badly. So other than a few assists from ganks on bot I didn't really get much out of the early-game, all the while the enemy top-laner starting to look super-scary. From then on I focused on "not dying while gaining as much XP and gold" as possible. I farmed the jungle, farmed the unoccupied lanes (which happened often due to deaths of laners) and only engaged in fights, when they looked favorable. During the enemie's sieges on our base I took the role of a peeler for our ADC and support only engaging on enemies that tried to attack them under our tower instead of rushing into the enemy team head-first. Surviving during the phase where the enemies got baron and elder-drake was particularly tough. But somehow we could lure them into mistakes by doing just what I described.
One things needs to be mentioned: Even our 2/23/2-top laner was not completely useless! He split-pushed like an absolute maniac. And while this always resulted in his death due to apparent complete lack of map-awareness and self-preservation-instincts, it bought time. Time to get the second baron.
This felt like the first big step for a turn-around. It allowed me to shove in mid to their tower, which got taken when I took the 2nd Elder-drake.
And that one was actually enough. With it's help we managed to ace the enemy and finish before they could respawn.
My role was not the one of a damage-dealer nor engager but as a guard for our ADC and clean-up-crew for the enemies that tried to get away at low-health. Something I could do without risking my life. Other than that I did a lot of split-pushing and getting buffs from the jungle wherever it seemed save to do so.
The satisfying thing about that game was that I didn't just win because I got fed early but that I had to use tactical and strategical thinking to outwit a stronger enemy, identify the team-mates worth playing around and helping them fulfill their role.
Here's my op.gg since that often gets asked for.

2024.05.29 11:17 WantonReader How the world collapsed into a wasteland
This subject has been raised before, but I didn't find this specific take on it. George Miller has his shifting timeline/mythology for how and when regular society fell and how Max can remember society when it's history for everyone else. Well, I came up with this idea when playing the game Mad Max (I know it doesn't fit in Miller's world but I think it presents the same idea as in Fury Road but just clearer).
What if the collapse of society happened in stages? Not only in that whole society became poorer and more cruel in stages but that civilization actively withdrew from more rural places, creating an early wasteland and eventually a later wasteland?
People living in rural places would experience a societal collapse early while other people, very far away, would still be living in something similar to society, but one on the edge, with some news traveling to the wasteland about more crises and wars.
When the final collapse happened, many years later, it could cause the survivors of society to either escape into the wasteland because now society is dying with disease, war, bombs and other things and the wasteland isn't hit by. Or society also turns into a wasteland, just later.
That could explain why there are still some modern devices, how Max and a few others used to live in a society but for everyone around him its completely foreign. Max grew up in places that still had civilization and when it collapsed, he travelled to the wasteland where no one has known civilization for a long time.

2024.05.29 10:33 danievdm Carrom Boards
Wonder if anyone knows where to get decent Carrom boards in Cape Town? I did buy one at Makro to only realise later it has straight cut pockets whilst the official rules stipulate rounded pockets with nets, and slightly rounded corners. Preferably it should be plywood at least 8 mm thick but better at 12 mm or 16 mm.
Seems none of the better known Indian boards like Synco, Syn6, Precise, Sisdcaa, GSI Superior, KORNERS, or KD AAR-Kay are available anywhere in SA.
Games shops seem to only sell small board games. Closest I've seen so far is maybe the Himco board that Decor Essentials is selling, or maybe the Fury Cruiser board that SollyM Sports is selling. The Gripstar board at Tenth Sports looks similar, but it has sharp corners and the pockets are not set against the corners really (although it has a good plywood playing surface).
Can see now why people say they often can't buy locally. But maybe I'm missing some place that is not online.

2024.05.29 10:01 Fresh_Pop_711 My teammates are one of the most U N I N T E L L E G E N T beings in the world
Like I'm just playing a game, we were 2k gd ahead because of me CARRYING them with joy, we got turtle twice in a row because of ME (i was jungling) and the everything started to fall apart, our Cecilion & Moskov has the award of "Best in Passive Play", our Yin has the award of "Best in being Desperate for Kills" our Chou has the award of "Best in Feeding", and "Best in not Roaming Properly EVEN THOUGH HE IS NOT A ROAMING HERO". Like I am crying behind the screen because of how we got behind so fast and so BADLY.
FIRST THEY GOT THE LORD, NEXT I SAID GATHER AT THE LORD (they already got it) AND I STARTED TO DAMAGE IT WHILE I WAS SOLOING DYRROTH BUT NO ONE LITERALLY CAME!? LIKE I GOT AMBUSHED BY KARINA AND DYRROTH SURVIVED MY ULT ON ONE HP BECAUSE THE LAST HIT DIDN'T GET HIM ANG KARINA KILLED ME AND THEN THEIR LUNOX KIKLED CHOU AND YIN ANG THEN AND MOSKOV GOT DOUBLE KILLED BY KARINA AND WE LOST. About me trying to kill the lord so it won't go to our base: MY TEAMMATES LITERALLY HAD SO MUCH TIME TO GO WITH ME TO KILL THE LORD BUT YOU KNOW, YIN WAS DESPRATE FOR KILLS, CHOU WAS FEEDING, MOSKOV AND CECILION BEING PASSIVE LIKE THEY WERE AT THE BASE JUST IDLING, AND WHEN I DIED THEY WERE LIKE: "Oh! Joy diedL LeT's gO hElP hEr!🥰" LIKE, okay I need to stop yapping. So I have a request, can anyone be a reliable teammate that can help me carry? 😭😭

2024.05.29 09:54 kohairu White fan lights flickering under load
Heya, PC newbie here so, sorry in advance!
So, basically when my PC is under load the fan lights flicker a bit. In games like Genshin, I notice it flickers slightly during the very rare stutter, and also during loading screens. Recently I got into Wuthering Waves which is a bit heavier and less optimized as it literally just released, and the fan lights flicker more than it does in Genshin
almost all the time. https://reddit.com/link/1d36rqo/video/925nf684kb3d1/player This is how it looks playing WuWa, it's not super noticeable on video but it is irl. Kinda like how a lightbulb flickers.
Should be concerned at all about this? And if so, what might the problem be and how I can fix it? This might be relevant so here are my specs:
Ryzen 3 1200 (stock cooler), RX 580 8GB, Kingston HYPERX FURY 16GB (8x2) 2400 MHz, Thermaltake 600W True Rated, 256GB Samsung NVME GEN 3 SSD + 500GB Seagate Barracuda HDD (both games run on the HDD sadly) Apologies for the long post, any answers or help appreciated, thanks!

2024.05.29 09:53 disab86 Bought New Core, now what do I get?
Hey all,
I'm brand new to everything related to this hobby. Initially I was going to get Legion, then Shatterpoint, but then I saw this game and thought the modern terrain looked so cool on the table and that super heros would likely be more fun to learn to paint and play on the table with my kids. My wife is even getting excited which is really cool.
So far, I've picked up the new Army Painter Fanatic starter paint set. I was initially going to get the 50 paint mega set, but they didn't have it and to get free shipping the only thing in stock they had related to this game was the starter paint set and I figured I'd probably want to get more paints regardless, so saved myself about $150 getting the starter set instead.
Are there any "must have" paints for the core box that people could recommend? I've heard speed paints, but not sure I want to fully go that route. I've seen some that just don't look "right" and don't mind putting in the effort to learn longer methods.
Also, my wife and I like Avengers, we're just MCU fans, both grew up watching Spiderman and X-men. What would you recommend we get next to play on the kitchen table?
Found a guy locally with the following list for sale:
Core Set - Open Never Build/Used Game Mat - Open Used
Modok - Assembled/Not Painted Loki and Hela - Half Assembled/Partial Painted Punisher and Task Master - Assembled/half Painted Omega Red - Assembled/Not Painted KingPin - Assembled/Painted Green Goblin - Assembled/Not Painted Black Panther and Killmonger - Assembled/Painted DareDevil and Bullseye - Assembled/half Painted Ghost Spider and Spiderman (myles) - Assembled/Painted Venom - Assembled/Painted Viper and Sin Assembled/Painted Nick Fury Sr and Commandos - New/unopened Minister Sinister - New/unopened Brotherhood of Mutants Set - New/unopened Uncanny X-Men Set - New/unopened Sentinel Prime - New/unopened Sentinel MK4 Set - New/unopened
Personally not a fan of buying pre-assembled things or anything with paint, but he's a 40k player I guess, so I'll ask for pics for anything anything new to make a judgement call.
Thanks for the help.

2024.05.29 09:38 zetsupetsu Any other Couch Co-op Games with Seamless Single-Screen UI for all players Like Full Metal Furies?
I love playing couch coop games where each player has their own section in the screen that they can work with while not disrupting other players and they can all seamlessly function with the other players.
I don't mean splitscreen. Just one single screen with simple and clever UI/UX design to accomodate all players.
The best example that does this is Full Metal Furies.
During the hub area after every mission, each character can customize their skill build/equipment etc while other players do their own thing. It's very intuitive and seamless I wish other coop games would've done something like this too.
Full Metal Furies does it the best but some other coop games that have something similar that we have already played:
Rotwood
Children of Morta (during Family Trials)
Diablo 4
Moonhunters
Salt and Sacrifice/Sanctuary
Would love some more recommendations that fit this bill! Preferably roguelikes if there are and it can show all rewards for all players at the same time.

2024.05.29 08:42 RoyalPalpitation8107 GIGABYTE X670 - Unable to boot 6000 mHz
Hi everyone,
I very recently bought a PC built with all the configurations I wanted in it.
- AMD Ryzen 7 7000
- GIGABYTE X670 Gaming X AX WIFI V2
- 32 GB DDR5 RAM 6000 MHz Kingston Fury Beast RGB
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB
I wish I could go to 6000 MHz, but I can't. As soon as I boot it gives me an error message: boot failure detected.
So it only starts in normal mode at 4800 mHz.
I tried to activate the XMP/EXPO profile, but it doesn't work. So I'm desperately trying to find the right configuration manually but I'm losing hope. I also updated to the latest BIOS version from the Gigabyte site.
Can anyone help me please?

2024.05.29 08:40 AlexFerrana Can Leon Kennedy from "Resident Evil" survive against this horror movies' characters?
Leon Kennedy has his standard and usual equipment (combat knife, pistol, flashlight, tracking device and a radio) and he's wearing his normal outfit from "Resident Evil 4 Remake" video game. Leon can use any weapon he could find nearby or improvise and use ordinary objects as a weapon or set up traps.
All feats from canon "Resident Evil" games (even though "RE 2: Remake" and "RE 4: Remake" are settled in their own standalone universe, feats for Leon from this games is allowed too), animated movies and tie-in "RE" comics for Keon are allowed.
No assistance and help for Leon, he's fighting alone. No prep and prior knowledge about the opponents for him.
Leon Kennedy's opponents (they have their standard gear and weapon):
1) Family of ugly and creepy cannibals from "Wrong Turn" movies.
2) Mutants from "The Hills Have Eyes" movies.
3) Leatherface and his creepy family of cannibals from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movies and "Netflix" series.
4) "Ghostface" (any of them) from the "Scream" franchise.
5) Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" movies ("Human" version of Jason).
6) Michael Myers from "Halloween" movies (main canon version, from 1978 movie and 2018 "Blumhouse" timeline, which is a direct continuation of a 1978 movie).
7) Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" movies ("Zombie" version of Jason).
8) Matt Cordell from "Maniac Cop" movies.
9) Killer Klowns from "Killer Klowns From An Outer Space" 1988 movie.
10) Jungle Hunter Predator from 1987 "Predator" movie.
11) City Hunter Predator from 1990 "Predator 2" movie.
12) Predator from 2022 "Prey" movie.
