2024.06.10 15:10 monkaSman Black Stuff on Qtip from Ear: What Your Earwax Says About Your Health
Earwax is a perfectly normal substance produced by your ears. While most of us are familiar with the yellow substance, there are occasions when your earwax may chance color or texture. Understanding the causes of these changes can help you identify a problem and seek help quickly.
What Is Earwax?
Earwax, also known as cerumen, is a waxy substance created by the sebaceous glands in the ear canal. It plays an essential role in ear health by cleaning, protecting and lubricating the ear canal.
When things are working well, the ear is able to self-regulate. Earwax is produced, does its job and then though the motion or talking and chewing, it travels up and out of the ear, removing with it dried skin cells and other debris.
Earwax Colors & Textures
Earwax can range in color from off-white to black. For most, the earwax you see is an amber orange to light brown and is a wet and sticky consistency. The color of earwax is usually related to its age; the lighter in color the newer the earwax. This is also true with the texture; the dryer the earwax, the older it is.
When to Seek Medical Help
If you are experiencing discharge from the ear that is not earwax, you should consult with your ear, nose and throat doctor. This is a common sign of an ear infection. Green earwax or earwax with a foul smell is also an indication of an infection.
If there is blood in your earwax, this could be a sign of an injury to the ear or a ruptured eardrum.
Gray or black earwax usually means there is a buildup of dust in the ear or impacted earwax.
If you are experiencing hearing loss, this could be a sign of impacted earwax. Your doctor can safely remove the blockade and provide you with tips on how to prevent this in the future.
It is important to note that while you may have the urge to clean your ear to prevent a buildup of earwax, this increases the risk of pushing your earwax deeper into the ear canal and causing a blockage. The best way to clean your ears is to gently wash with mild soup and water. This will help rinse out the ear canal and remove any earwax that is ready to fall out.

2024.06.10 14:59 Responsible-Rice-201 Starting over at 30
I’ve been told before that I don’t follow through with things in my life. I always found it hard to focus, but my i constantly take interests in new things. A cartoon scene would be like: by the time my train almost reaches the station I’d choose to jump out on the track. I always had low self esteem, I am on long term medication for my mental health now and there’s no knowing when I can get off of them. I battled with body dysmorphia for my whole life and I feel like I have failed in everything I do. So I didn’t graduate college because I had a mental breakdown in my last semester. My professors refused to let me finish the essay with an extension. I had a complete meltdown hospitalized and I just decided to leave without planning how to return in the future. I feel like I burn every bridge I have and now I can see that was probably a pattern in all interpersonal relationships and every venture I set out to do. I probably have a likability issue. I don’t think people connect with me very much. I am often overlooked and ignored. Like when I was young boys never wanted to date me I never get asked to dance. I haven’t dated till I was 22. And of course, in the beginning in my teens, I probably acted like a pick me and that doesn’t help. I’m only grateful that I saw my problem and stopped it in my early 20s. I thought if I try hard enough, I could meet and connect with other people, but I always find myself left out of conversations, friend groups, activities, lists. It’s a very sad life knowing people around you but never welcomed sometimes makes me even more depressed and I think that if I passed away, no one would care and I still constantly have that battle in my mind every day. it’s like a voice that will never leave and you just have to train yourself to be OK with it being there, learning to ignore it and just keep living , it is tiring to have the motivation to keep living, I don’t think people talk about that enough. I always thought I was smart but now I can see I am stupid girl who didn’t graduate from college don’t know where or how to go back to finish a degree because she wants to do a masters degree sometimes I don’t really know what is stopping me when I’ve been giving all the opportunities I have I know I am more fortunate than a lot of other people but the internal struggle is real. However, I cannot complain or I will seem ungrateful. I cannot share with other people about my mental illness because it is frowned upon, because it is not seen as a’ real illness’.
I think turning 30 made me see how problematic I was and it’s too late to change the past. There’s so many things that I would do differently if I have the chance. I would fix my mental health before any adult tell me otherwise. I seek help from all the doctors with my ADHD and ask them to correct all my behavioral problems. with the right mindset, I study the hardest I can in school with the structure that is proven to work instead of going out of my way to do things differently because I just always end up not finishing anything I started. I’d get plastic surgeries that I want not caring what society deems proper for a woman to do. I’d start doing my own business now much earlier, opening my own bank account and not care about what my family thinks of that. I care less about what adults tell me to do because their authority doesn’t equal correctness and a lot of times they are just a bunch of narcissist, who has a holdover you, a kid, and I would have believed in myself, have so much more confidence. I think I’d give much less thought to what people think of me. And by that I don’t mean what I personally choose to do with my life regarding school or work, but all aspects of it, and not give a crap about how other people would judge me for it, because no matter how hard you try everyone from your family to every stranger on the street but still have a judgment on you. I probably age much less that way.
Now that I have a clear view of how I’ve lived my last 15 years, emotionally and physically abused, I want to start again with a clean slate. I start researching online on how people get things done what good habits they have to be overachievers how do they get into their dream college and the master programs that I’m looking at. I reassess what I want to achieve in life and try to build up my own confidence that if I try my best I work hard anything is possible and even though I am 30 now, I feel like the last 15 years has been tiring for me and maybe it is OK that I want to start fresh now. Reddit it is probably not the place to go if I don’t want to be judged, but I’m getting this off my chest. We’ll see how it goes, starting my life again at 30. Hope everyone who feels like it can make it happen too. Cheers.

2024.06.10 13:48 iskander_alexander Horror movie "Nightmare cinema" was referenced in Lookism 1a arc.
| The plot of that segment of the movie is about a girl who goes to plastic surgeon to remove a scar on her face. The surgeon promises to make her truly beautiful... and if u read 1A u know how it ends. She got "ptj paneled", and not in a good way. I also remember reading that Cheonliang arc was a reference to another horror movie ,but I can't remember the name. This makes me wonder how many movie references PTJ actually made in his comic that we still don't know about? If you guys know of any other works PTJ pays homage to, please tell 😁 submitted by iskander_alexander to lookismcomic [link] [comments] |

2024.06.10 12:40 Evening_Potential778 Travel after surgery
My surgery is on June 21st. Having tummy tuck with MR, breast reduction, lipo to flanks and back. How long till y’all traveled? I have a work trip on 8/3. My plastic surgeon said I would be fine to go back to work on week 2 (mind you I still would have drains in till week 3). He said I’d be totally fine to travel by 4 weeks. He even said by week 3/4, he’d have me work on muscle strengthening exercises while sitting, and getting walks in. Many of you seem like y’all weren’t ready by 4 weeks. Was anyone good enough by week 4?

2024.06.10 11:16 Cheeky_Marshmallow Post-Op Vent/Diastasis Recti Repair
Hello everyone. A little background on me. I’ve had Diastasis Recti for 15 years and 2 pregnancies. One vaginal and one c-section with placenta previa. After that I closed shop for my safety as it almost killed me. Now that gave me the opportunity to finally repair the DR after all this time. I do feel the second pregnancy made it worse. My insurance would only cover the repair but the physician said it would leave a huge scar. If I wanted it done nice I’d have to go to a plastic surgeon.
As luck would have it, my husband and I are now in South Korea. So I went to one of the best plastic surgeons in the area to get a quote. It was a little over 13,000 for a full tummy tuck, with DR rapair and Liposuction. Includes all your medications as well as anesthesia.
I got the surgery on June 4th and it’s been hell. It’s extremely, extremely painful. I’m open to questions if you have any. I could use the company. 😞

2024.06.10 10:37 miraiexoxo advice needed 💀 being attached to friend’s wellbeing
my(18f) best friend (19f) has a bf(23m) since she was 16. so ofc i’ve always found it weird because he was 20 when she was 16. not to mention it’s a LDR and they met on discord.
there’s been a fair bit of times in which she’s cried for hours or like even attempted suicide because of him.
my best friend struggles with clinical depression & body dysmorphic disorder. so, she’s been obsessed with getting plastic surgery & a bbl. a few weeks ago, she decided to go on instagram (she’s not active, barely uses it) and she finds that her bf follows like those escorts and like idk 💀 “bbl baddies” (not being rude)
previously, she had asked him to unfollow some of them and he did. but he didn’t unfollow the ones she didn’t specifically ask him to. i believed that to be extremely disrespectful and even she was saying how she deserves better.
there’s many instances but like just after i first met her, she was crying about how he wants her waist to be “xx inches” and how she has to be “xx kg” or he won’t be happy. like bruh… 💀 that’s insane to me
after their argument, i spent like hours/ days being there for her and they decided to take a break and we have exams in 2 weeks so time is precious. they were supposed to talk 2 days ago and yesterday, i asked if they had broken up and she said no. i can’t tag what she wrote specifically but she just said “no” and then i sent her 6 messages following up and asking her to update me when she can cause it stresses me out and makes me anxious. she just replied this morning after 24 hours.
i genuinely dk how to feel. like i’m so upset cause it feels like i wasted my time with her and that she genuinely doesn’t care about me. for reference, i broke up with my ex last december and she was not there for me AT ALL. it’s almost like how she feels is more important than how i feel.
what do i do? we’re supposed to go for classes together but i just feel nauseous thinking about her.

2024.06.10 10:13 goldbug_the_kraken is there anything like clear/transparent trans tape?
i had this random thought cuz i was trying to think of how to make transtape pass better since cis guys dont typically have weird tape bandage things on their chest, but if there was clear trans tape you could just pass shirtless pre-top surgery if you have a small enough chest. i think that wouldn't really work cuz kinesiology/trans tape is made out of mostly cotton i think. but maybe some kind of stretchy plastic? that might be to shiny to pass as skin tho. im just wondering if anyone else has ever thought about this.

What I really dug were the stories from real patients and their tips on stuff like sleeping positions and getting back to your regular routine. It's a quick watch but jam-packed with super useful info, so definitely check it out before you go under the knife!

2024.06.10 07:01 alt34636347 I'm back momentarily - an update. Coping is a losing strategy. My dysphoria is massively reduced and almost gone.
I was selfawareagp on twitter, then selfawareagp2 on twitter. I actually deleted all my previous posts on this specific account and maybe the twitter accounts.
Back momentarily because I fucked myself up in an accident and can't leave the house. The story is totally bad-ass, apparently I am a "tough mofo" with a "high pain tolerance".
I will keep my visit brief so I don't spiral into depression, anxiety, dysphoria. So I will be here for a day or two.
Previous Summary - I had dysphoria since being a teenager.
- It was confusing and autogynephilia combined with other parts of my life, leading to misinterpreting the feelings and being on the verge of an identity disorder.
- Discovering AGP helped broke me out of the identity disorder part and eased the worst symptoms and let me frame life decisions in a context that made more sense. But dysphoria remained.
- The desire to make the fantasy real and my discomfort in myself for not being what I desire to be, varied immensely. Dysphoria came and went due to life circumstances, but I did not feel in control of why and how.
Update - AGP seems to be pretty constant. I don't mind it. It's enjoyable and one of lifes guilty pleasures. I don't try to fight it. I accept it and it makes me feel good.
- I don't think giving up on my fantasies is a good thing - I have plenty of fantasies that I act on and they deliver results to make my life better. Career. Hobbies. Relationships. Physical fitness. A lot of it started with my imagination, fantasies, and drive. Fantasies make life worth living, overall, and it is a good thing we have them.
- However, I can't make transitioning work. Therefore, intense fantasies and being upset I can't fulfill them, does not work.
- So what works on being able to move away?
- By spending effort making the rest of my life worth living, which snow-balls.
- Not excessively using AGP fantasies to feel good when other parts of my life suck. I suspect this has a lot to do with dopamine regulation. Yeah, sometimes is okay, but if my life sucks and I'm spending so much time fantasizing or browsing social media or transtimelines, then I'm not helping myself, instead I'm dwelling on the success and beauty of others, and the fantasy of doing it for myself, when I can't.
- Not trying to search for a greater meaning behind my AGP. There is none. What does it mean? Not a lot. What does someone getting off to being turned into a blueberry mean? Not a lot. Why am I AGP? Because I am. I've spend at least a thousand hours on these questions, has it helped? No.
- I left GC twitter, left AGP discord, left AGP reddit. Many of these places simply hate us and make us feel like shit, whilst tormenting us by reminding us of our fantasy. This may not be intentional, but it is the net effect. Being reminded of your fantasy and hated for it is destructive. It is incompatible with items 1, 2, 3. It is by far the biggest trap.
Overall, I am convinced the best thing to do is live your best life whilst being mindful of others. The worst thing is to dwell on fantasies you are unwilling or incapable of making it work.
Am I coping? Coping is hating your autogynephilia, spending time with those who hate you, whilst fantasizing about transitioning and spending all your time thinking about if you are trans. Coping is spending significant portions of your time on twitter, reddit, discord, instagram, admiring beautiful women or trans women. Coping is spending significant time on asking if you should transition. Crying yourself to sleep because you are not a woman. Taking dozens or hundreds of photos of yourself to see how feminine you could be from various angles. Planning plastic surgeries just as a fantasy. Coping is masturbating for an hour a day about being a woman. Coping is believing there is something wrong with you for being AGP and thinking you can think yourself out of it and cure yourself of this so called "affliction". Coping is then doing all this and letting yourself marinate in this state until it is all you know. Coping is letting yourself slide into this state over a period of many months. Coping is spinning your wheels and getting nowhere with this behavior. Hoping and wishing to be normal and for a savior. Coping is suicide inducing.
Don't cope.
Coping is worse than transitioning and not transitioning.
This post is largely the not transitioning counterpart to this:
I think I'm done with the concept of AGP (my final post). Why are they successful? Because they are not coping, they completely nailed it. To be clear, I think this is community is a good one, just use it in moderation.
Don't cope.
There is also the problem that those who moves on, may not talk about it, because they have moved on. I have dropped out of the Bailey study, forgot about it, forgot the email password. This is a loss. I've been part of a different unrelated to AGP study for the past 7 years, the way I stay part of that study is they call me about 15 times unless I fill out the survey and give me $50.
I know a lot of you who have got back to baseline.

Hey, people! I'm a brazilian trans woman and I get very curious about something I see here and in another subs that focus on transexualism into a 'medicalist' perspective:
A lot of its members tell they're "stealth" or they just pass and Its a little hard for me to believe so many of trans people, and especially trans woman, can do this.
I don't know If this has something to do with the country we live in (I think most of you are from North America, but I may be wrong), but for me, based on what I see here in Brazil, Its very hard to completely pass or being "stealth", especially as a trans woman.
So I whould like to know about you who's "stealth" or pass one hundred percent: how old are you? When did you started HRT? Did you ever do some plastic surgery? Facial feminization?
Sorry If I wrote something wrong. My english is not 100%.

2024.06.10 04:50 maicao999 I should be saving for a house/car instead of plastic surgery
I don't know why I'm putting it as a whole priority. Because that's NOT normal. I just wanted to be treated normally so bad.. like having dates again and shit.
Maybe I'm too hyperfixated, but I just wanted to be normal. A 7 at least. But main things in life like a house and cars should be my main priority.

2024.06.10 04:36 Wise_Size_2829 Body dysmorphia after husband cheated?
I have always been the most confident woman and always knew I looked good. I get a lot of attention without soliciting for it. Even after 2 kids people won’t believe how good I look etc… but after my husband had an emotional affair with an only fans model, I keep thinking about getting plastic surgery. Her image keeps popping on my mind - her huge boobs and perfect waist and ass (she was 25!) and I’m 40 with somewhat saggy boobs after breastfeeding… So I started consulting with plastic surgeons. I feel so stupid. I started dieting and working out even more. He fucked me up mentally about this. We are trying to work things out and he is very attracted to me and we have sex all the time. (Married for 17 years). I just keep thinking that he went to her in the first place because he was obviously attracted to her looks so I need to look like her. How embarrassing. I don’t want to admit that but that’s how I feel now.
