Howdy folks!
We all love Mcdies, but McDonald's is not the same as something exotic like eating Durians. The same distinction needs to happen to isekais where we should separate the ones that we crave because of familiarity with conceivably extra seasoning (同) from the ones that we desire because it's unique and lean into the unknown (異)

For instance, we would consider Isekai Cheat Magician to be quite bland for an isekai. However, for an asekai, it fulfills its duty of being a familiar fantasy that anyone can mindlessly enjoy. Some people eat the same thing every day so this type of Anime would be right up their alley on familiarity alone; like a comfy warm blanket that never makes you uncomfortable.
On the other extreme is the wanderlust amongst us who can't sit still and things get boring quickly. Sure, there's nothing "truly" new unless you go full in experimental which can become nonsensical, but if you have enough new angles on something, it becomes unique in our opinion. Being unique does not necessarily mean better either, but for people who just want to see something new, sometimes that factor alone is entertaining enough.
These two are extreme examples, but we believe they help set the spectrum where most people live within. Some will fluctuate on the spectrum as well, like watching back-to-back asekais will likely make you crave for an isekai to spice it up or the other way around too. With that said, what we're trying to achieve here is a better classification system, as right now “Isekai” has become such a broad term that it's cracking under its own weight and generating a bad rep, not necessarily because of bad content, but improper classification.

What makes it an asekai?

Having three or more similar characteristics portrayed from this list is a stronger indication that the series is asekai. That is unless the series does bring new angles to given characteristics. From parodying it to blatantly making it mundane to shift focus to more important characteristics, there are many ways to “isekai“ it. With that said, if the series puts all of its eggs in one basket, that might not be enough to warrant calling it an isekai.
This example is from a non-isekai series, but it perfectly summarizes what a fresh angle is: Goblin Slayer’s portrayal of goblins and the world impact they cause makes it unique, despite the series races, magic, economy, setting, and world being heavily lifted from the commonly know mythology.
MC(s): Connection/transfer between worlds Truck-kun? Did a star polygon or something akin to it appear underneath the MC(s), and they were whisked away?
MC(s): Low Libido/Lack of relationship Is the MC(s) always shying away from some action? Not because they are celibate, but rather they just seem overly shy that never seem to progress anywhere?
MC(s): Weak-to-overpowered As the name says, does the MC(s) start weaker than everyone else, and grow to be overpowered than pretty much anyone else?
Mythology: Economy/Guilds/Professions Adventurer guild exists and offer the same usual quests you would find in a video game? Does the guild look like a medieval inn?
Mythology: Language Does the MC automatically understand the language of the new world? Is there any world lore to explain how the MC learns the language?
Mythology: Magic Star Polygons or something akin to that behind, below, or in the palm of the caster? Do they scream the spells? Do they use blue magic potions to restore mana? Is magic something only a select few know? Often something you can only tangibly use after going to a specialized school?
Mythology: Politics Are monarchies the only thing around? Is the MC(s) summoned by monarchy magicians or the closely tied church to be used at the summoning monarchy will? Usually to defeat a great evil?
Mythology: Race Does it include elves, dwarves, and halflings and they are all "Good"? Does the same apply to dark elves, orcs, goblins, demons, vampires, etc and are they "bad"? Are there lizard-people and are they neutral to everyone?
Mythology: Religion Does the religion of the world resemble Christianity?
Mythology: World Setting Is the world set in a medieval-like, low-tech setting? Does the MC(s) start in a town where things are more peaceful, like the starter town of an MMORPG?
Plot: Harem-esque/Collection Is the MC(s) collecting characters to follow him around? Does it turn into some sort of Harem?
Plot: Good (Angels) vs Evil (Demons) Did the MC(s) were brought in to defeat a demon or conquer something evil? Will the MC become a hero? Is the church closely associated with the whole thing?

Recommended Asekais

Arifureta: First episode was legit isekai material. The rest not so much. Like holding a filled-to-brim seven-layer taco, but as soon as you take the first bite, everything crumbles. But if you’re like us, you’d still eat the crumbles even though it’s now just a mess.
Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku: THE DEFINITION OF ASEKAI! It was our first one too! without realizing it! And so we have dear memories of it. Like buying fried chicken from your hometown grocery store or bread from the corner bakery near your home, you can feel a warm blanket over you, making you feel cozy and protected when you take a chomp of its freshly made goodness. We don't recommend eating that all day though.
Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria: Some interesting Norse mythology sprinkled in, otherwise it’s a brother of the smartphone asekai. We give it a mid to low asekai tier.
Isekai Cheat Magician: If you haven’t watched much anime, then this one is a good way to get caught up with the latest trends. It’s like eating a gas station egg sandwich. As in it’s a gamble whether you will enjoy it, but it would be a badge of honor telling other people you powered through it.
Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu: Tickled our monkey brain. Recommended. We’re still looking for a Rem Galleu figure (with her original outfit, not the wedding dress version.)
Isekai Ojisan: Honest fun seeing this shift in MC perspective and storytelling perspective, but doesn’t really push any boundaries on the mythology. We would watch Season 2 no problem.
Isekai Shokudou: Want to get hungry? This is how you get hungry. All of its eggs are in one basket and soon will become delicious-looking fried eggs. I would bet the illustrators on this show gained a few pounds after spending so much time drawing food. At least we would.
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni: You can guess where this goes, but if you want to get lost in a power fantasy surrounded by eye-candy girls then this will tickle your monkey brain. If you are on the male spectrum, then nut before watching the show so that your mind isn't filled with any ecchi desires, otherwise it will impact your enjoyment.
Kenja no Mago: Isekai Cheat Magician with a different coat of paint. If you liked watching that, you will like this one too.
Maou-sama, Retry!: They should retry making this huehuehuehue (laughs in Brazilian.) Jokes aside, it’s a mid asekai, or bottom-tier isekai.
Outbreak Company: Like a cousin of GATE. It had great potential to become an isekai but lost enough steam with each new episode that it turned asekai. Although we still have fond memories of it so we put it at top-tier asekai.
Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru: Dollar Store version of Konosuba. Still a fun, decent watch on a rainy day when you want to make some popcorn and turn off your brain for some mindless entertainment.
Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita: Cozy anime to watch on a snowy day, or if you’re stressed doing all the things and need to get away to a “happy place“ where nothing really happens. Eat a Big Mac or your favorite comfort food while watching this and it will be as relaxing as jumping in a hot tub.

Recommended Isekais

GATE: Some say that it is only an isekai when the MC is traped on another world, but we refuse that notion. We believe it’s about the 異. If it excels at doing something different while exploring a new world, then it should be considered an isekai.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: This one deserves a second chance. It fumbled and lost people’s attention and patience, but we still call it an isekai on the grounds for really trying.
Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi: Isekai Revenge Porn. Whatever you think of it, you can’t call it asekai. Also, there’s a murky divide between Ecchi and Hentai. We personally love the edgy feeling of taking ecchi as far as possible without going into Hentai, but we do give them props for not giving a shit to what people think and going all in! You have our respect!
Konosuba: The way Konosuba pokes fun at isekai mythology is truly an EXPLOSION of goodness.
Log Horizon: They go full bet on exploring the mechanics of a new world dictated by MMORPG game design, and by golly, they did. I still remember and treasure the plot surrounding food in the world.
Mushoku Tensei: Does share some of that isekai mythology, but despite that, the plot/MC and some other world elements are so strong it raised this series to our top isekai!
No Game No Life: Early isekai, yet still just as memorable. No Game No Life Zero did hit it right in the feels.
Overlord: Not much to be said because you likely have watched this one already. So damm good.
ReZero: We still have questions as to what determines a milestone and breaks the loop, but aside from that, truly an awesome series.
Sword Art Online: Season 1 is an isekai in our humble opinion, and an outstanding one at that.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari: We’re been struggling to decide if this is top tier asekai, or if the plot/MC details rise it to really good isekai. As of writing this, we haven’t watched Season 2 & 3 yet, so that remains to be decided.
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: We haven’t watched everything yet, but safe to say Rimuru takes the collection type of plot to a whole new level by building his own kingdom. We’ve seen similar world gaming mechanics before, but we think they are used by the MC to drive a plot that is unique enough to stand out.
Youjo Senki: We're not sure how famous this is among the Western crowd, but we love Tanya and the grittiness of the world.
Thank you for taking the time. What do you think? I love both isekais and asekais, but I'm biased towards isekais, especially when they really push unique parameters in the world rules.

2024.05.26 01:00 Raiking02 Choujuushin Gravion Rewatch Interest Thread

Hello everybody. Say, who doesn't love giant robots? If your answer is "Me!" well I'm sorry to say that you have shit taste and are not welcome here, because giant robots are cool, and no one makes them cooler than Obari Masami. Indeed the king of robots and hentai has been blessing us ever since the 80', and even as early as this year he was still giving us metallic, campy fun.
So then, this does beg the question: How the hell is it that before me none of his works have gotten a spotlight on Rewatches!? Well, guess it's time to correct that, and what better way to do so… than with his first TV Production.
Mind of course, some of you may have a few questions. Such as…

Wait what the hell is Gravion anyway?

Set in the far future of… 2041, humanity is at the brink. Mysterious invaders known as the Zeravire are attacking, and the Earth Federation's Army is utterly useless against them. Naturally this means it's up to some… unlikely sources for help. Enter eccentric millionaire Klein Sandman, a man with seemingly limitless wealth that likes to dress up as some sort of European nobleman, and he has secretly created the weapon to turn the tides against the invaders: The Super-Heavy God Gravion, piloted by his own hand-picked group of people. The plucky Gusuku Luna, Ena (a maid), the flirty Tachibana Mizuki, the mysterious Leele and, most importantly, their fearless yet socially inept leader Tenkuuji Toga.
He is not the main character. No that's this idiot, Eiji who frankly doesn't give much of a damn about this and just wants to find his missing sister, mostly because it's clear Sandman knows far more than he pretends to.
While the description I gave may make it sound like it's all serious business, that's not really the case. If anything the show is rather campy from beginning to end. Not to say it never takes itself seriously, but nine times out of ten you can bet the show settles on goofy fun above serious drama. You don't go into Gravion for complex themes or characterization, you go into it for the fun factor of seeing the rather jovial cast play off each other and also the Cool RobotTM fights. Oh and also fanservice.
And boy does it at least deliver on that front. In spite of being from the Early Digipaint days, the show holds up rather well visually. Part of it is just the strength of the artstyle (Obari himself handled both the character and mechanical designs) but also just in general shows Studio Gonzo at their strongest, even having some genuinely really solid imagery. Oh and there's also a copious amount of JAM Project Vocal Songs so, you know, the OST is literally perfect.
It helps that, being both directed and written by people who know the genre inside out, it knows when to lean into the stereotypes while also giving it some new blood. Toga may get top billing, but ultimately it's Eiji who always manages to remain at the focus, and having a traditional super robot show where the lead isn't the leader is certainly a novelty, although really the whole cast gets their time to shine. Really the show is just a fun love letter to the genre.

Okay, where to watch it?

The show is currently only available on Crunchyroll as far as legal options go. Not the best, but hey, it's something at least.

So when are we watching this?

The Rewatch will begin in July 1st and go all the way up to July 26th, ending with a final discussion for both seasons. We will not be doing a mid-season discussion since frankly there's not enough in season 1 for me to find it worthwhile to do that. In turn threads will be daily posted at 11pm UTC.

This show sure loves its big reveals sometimes, so very careful when talking about spoilers. If you'll do so (Or aren't sure if it is a spoiler), then use the little spoiler code thingy as indicated on the side of the Subreddit. An observation on how much you can see and how much you can actually choose from.

"Farming RPG" games:

A boom since Stardew Valley (which is a successful clone of Harvest Moon). These are all the same, sandboxes with RPG elements and some dungeon exploration. Mostly aimed at women (cute-looking ones) but some transcend to both genders like Stardew Valley by its more "gender neutral" graphic style approach (still it has a majority of female playerbase, go check nexus mods an see available mods to get an idea). Stardew Valley is a good game, but when you start seeing farming-rpg games popping up everyday, it all loses shine very quickly. They are all the same: basic story you enherited a farm from someone and complete objectives that either the game gives or you put by yourself, since its mostly a sandbox game. Its a "do it at your own liking" with no "evil" plot in it or a mild one that can be overcomed and will not end the game. These games hook by the quantity of items that can be gathered/created and the sense of progression it gives to the player. Once the progression feeling stops, the game dies instantaneously.
PS: 2024 - Steam introduced the "Farming FEST".

"Simulators":

Back in the day, a "simulator" was a serious word. You read "simulator" and you knew it was serious. It was about machinery operation with complex (or not so much by that time) and realistic functions and controls. It was meant to be "close to the real thing" but of course, it was not for the most part. The magic was that it tried to be close to reality or at least it was inteded to be, and you could feel that even with the technology limits. Now, "simulation" games are well... every game out there, apparently. Go and search on the simulation tag to know what I'm talking about. Now it seems any game can be a simulator as long as it mimicks some aspect of reality, according to the self proclaimed "gamers". Not strange to see amateur-made first person "job simulators" that are simple "press E key to" etcetera... . Back then, when steam didn't flood the store with trash quality, amateur, eternal beta games and didn't let users tag games, a simulator was thought to be a car,truck,plane,ship or spaceship driving game; some where FPS military games like ARMA series and such. Now it seems to be 90% of the store, no matter how cartoony, simple or comic the game is.
Oh yes, \"Ramen oil simulator\" is what I had in mind when I typed \"simulator\" in the search.
What it should be: \"Flight Simulator\". What it is: \"Cat Simulator\".

Its like the daughter of both above. I don't have to say too much about this; all these games have the same artwork, behave more or less the same.

"Visual Novels/Dating Simulators":

For sad,lonely weird people that in real life are dreaming of meeting the perfect submisive, busty, girly, schoolgirl of their dreams, but need the extra time waste of a long banal story for their social needs. These people's profile is that they think they live as if they were anime characters and believe that women are hentai girls and girls believe men are hentai boys. They live their fantasies and these games confirm their mindset. I call this "social porn" since its more focused at social interactions instead of just pornographic content. I don't even want to think the mass behaviour studies these games are gathering from their playerbase (unless they used firewalls to play them, which I think they don't).

"World War 2" games:

The usual theme portraying north americans as the ones that won the second great war when in reality, they entered the war late and by the window while benefiting from it; and the russians where the ones that sacrificed themselves, even women and very young boys and girls in the millions to actually defeat the Nazi Germany and faced an international "allies" nuclear bombs plot to seize the entire Russia. It has to be said though, that Stalin was in power by that time so they had their reasons back then, still, it was plain backstabbing. Despite this, there are really good titles out there like "Company of Heroes" or the "Close Combat" series to name a few in the strategy realm. But, as we are now used to, this theme has been abused at high levels making it lose shine with time. Also north americans seem to be using McCarthyism on them.
They even prefer embodying the Nazis against the Russians, than Russians against Nazis. Someone wants to erase history and replace it with its own version...

"Tycoon" games:

I like what in my time were called just "strategy games". Now it seems that its not enough, and they are "economy simulators"... yes... more "simulators". These are strategy management games. The mania of "tycoon" games exploded late, with the iconic "Roller Coaster Tycoon" being oldware already and a lot of nostalgia involved as a trend. Developers seem to have started using the "tycoon" part to give a clear description of what the game is about, referencing RCT for quickly showing what they where about. Now the genre is still about economics but the games are varied in mechanics and graphics, for example some are in first person mixing the modern term of "simulation" but still being called "tycoon". The "genre" has lost a lot of trust since these games started popping out too much and with rapidly decaying quality; mostly because they were trying to be innovative by adding complexities (micromanagement) that were not needed. This genre is seeing a revival of "theme park" games, which are ruining that genre by adding more and more and more micro-management to their titles.
Totally not abusing \"Tycoon\" name.

"City Builders":

They hang on the tits of the mothers of all this genre: "Simcity" series and Sierra city builders like "Pharaoh", "Caesar" and such. Truth is, this is not so abused like the others, but the attempts to make it have new features is not giving good results. It seems people prefer Simcity-like games like "Cities Skylines" (the first, since the second is unplayable) than any other. The key here is the isometric 2D-like or plain 2D view. But, developers didn't abide by this "rule" and went ahead with full blown out 3D making these, expensive in hardware requirements for a type of game that always had high requirements as a base due to simulated logistics and calculations of entire simulated cities. You can render every person's teeth model in perfect 3D for no reason and you will only clog your game performance. Cities Skylines is the perfect example. A good genre, an almost untouched genre that is becoming less and less playable with time due to ridiculous development desitions.
So, apparently, \"Planet Zoo\" is considered a \"city builder\" by our beloved and grown up Steam community.

"Anime fighting" games:

I can't say too much about these; they are all generic attempts of Capcom's arcade fighting games, which are also self-clones of "Street Fighter". They are all getting more and more ridiculous with time like anime. They are all designed the same: affected and exagerated characters, ridiculously large swords, busty hentai girls in the characters roster and stupidly fast paced combat (button masher) action combined with "super power" mini cutscenes. Since I stopped playing these games since the old times, I can only wonder if they stopped the AI cheating that all these suffered from.

"Anime themed" games:

Anime is here to stay, its a pushed trend by americans which have long colonial relations with the asian subsidiary, that also loves americans (despite them dropping two atomic bombs over its country). And as such, these videogames have all the clichés you can 'nightmare'. From perfect sluts in tight dresses acting like ninja candid schoolgirls to comedy relief characters that resemble a potato with eyes, to pathologic collectionism, to american praise with the statue of liberty appearances, american trends praise, LGBT, american flag appearances, etcetera. Go watch the Nintendo catalog, if you want and you will see what I say. You can also watch VGL youtube channel and see some old japanese games praising american culture.

"Survival" or "Crafting" games:

90% the store is this genre. Minecraft clones, in real-looking graphics, in pixel art or boxel art as the original. Grind for resources, build stuff with them and that's it. Some even try to give an objective, some are just sandboxes. These games hook the players because of the resource variety and the crafting variety, with manufacturing processes but almost all end the same: there is no real goal or its completely secondary. It would not be a problem until you realize the game doesn't make sense by itself, since you are not feeling like you "reached a goal" anymore. Think of it like "Animal Crossing" which is the most infamous, anxiety inducing, pathological collectionism inducing, boring, childish and senseless game I've ever tried in my adult life.

2024.04.27 12:53 Nicolas44001 dealing with the chaser effect part 2: noticing the emotional you're trying to care to

So as i said in part 1 i relapsed, succombed once to the chaser effect, but dont want to go down the hole again before i can climb back up etc.
I'd like to make you become conscious of why you relapse and what you seek when you indulge in hentai, corn etc. What i'll say is based on Teal Swan's video about addiction
We all act trying to do stuff which make us feel good. And we are always trying to fill an emotional need. I would relapse often, blame hentai, try to push it away, only to relapse again. Then i watched Teal's video on addiction. The gist, and an unpopular one at that, is that whenever you are faced with an addiction, you need to pause, and be very honest about how it....benefits you....
We have sereval parts in us. One wants to keep you away from corn, the other one deeply craves it.
So i did just that, i sat and asked myself "what is it about the hentai i consume that talks to me, what is it about it that i like". An easy way to answer that question is: "if it were to disappear overnight and you didnt have acces to it anymore, how would you feel? What do you think you would be left with?"
for me hentai was a mixture of many things, first there is the hardwired biological factor of it being a superstimulus and a massive dopamine secretion inducer. But on the emotional side, it was a fantasy world where there was adventure, monsters, novelty, and bitches always in heat whom i didnt have to charm, whom i didnt have to convince to love me, whom i didnt have to hold back with. I could be crude, i could be raw, i could be violent, i could be dominant, as lustful as possible, and they'd love it. In short, i was accepted. Right from the start.
Remove all that and what am i left with? A real world which doesnt really care about me, girls i like but who are not attracted to me, difficulty to connect and feel loved by hot girls....no wonder hentai would speak to me.
But like most of us here, the band aid only covered so much. Yes it migh care to the lust, but then i was left with the feeling of loneliness. And here come the addiction. I feel isolated, so i take refuge in this fantasy world, isolating me even more, both emotionally and biologically as i'm creating neuropathways in my brain. Until one day the pain created by hentai is worse than the pain of the real world.

It's easy being caught up in the momentary excitation. i even think relapsing when you are absolutely horny sometimes feel fine, but it is what comes after, the chaser effect, which is dangerous. Even after just two faps in front of a screen i can feel the grasp of isolation, of wanting to go back to the screens because it's more dopamine releasing than real life, of not leaving my house, of just reading hentai... And i realised yesterday....this is the addiction. That's how it manifests itself. It's not your body moving on its own, it's all the creeping thoughts, the little voice of "what's one little taste gonna hurt", it's all the rationalisations your mind creates, it's the apathy, the wanting to isolate....that is the addiction.
So here goes guys, i invite you to start noticing your behaviour, if you go back to screens, and ask yourself, wait, what need, what wound am i trying to answer to, to care to. And try to listen to it, meditate on it, be present with it, take the time it needs to listen to it, it's desperately asking for your help. And once you've figured it, try to find ways in reality to answer this wound.

Bonus tips: ask yourself, if there wasnt the visual stimulation, would i fap? If not....then it's just the addiction. Also don't beat yourself up too much, there is life after a relapse. If you feel like isolating, go outside, go in a cafe, read, watch a movie. In time every thing passes. Even lust, even urges.
I'll maybe post in a month to testify if the chaser effect goes away or not.

They control women whom they see as their property (daughters and wives) due to knowing in their lives the man control nothing and is comfortable having a victim mindset and stiffiling in undiagnosed PD and mental illness wrapped in entitlement, women hating and bitterness they couldnt be like a celebrity and made CHOICES that THEY made to destroy their life.

I thought I'd take a minute to summarize and/or quote some of the discussions going on over there and reply to them. It might come as a shock to those who don't know me that I agree with some of their points, but lots of it is just unhinged walled-garden-speak.

"Big Tech is faking AI"

This is mostly correct. There are some nuances though:
  1. I think most antis hear this and think, "AI tools we keep hearing about are actually useless." That's not true at all, as evidenced by the endless examples of their successful use in medicine, art, business, etc.
  2. It's not just "Big Tech," and probably isn't primarily tech industries that are lying about their AI use. I'd think the further you get from the people who understand AI, the more lying about it is going on.
That last point is key. If you run a big business and you've made some mistakes that will now lead to having to lay off a few thousand people, do you want to tell investors you messed up, or do you want to tell them that you're pivoting to AI?
Watch carefully. You see this constantly in earnings reports. A company that's been in trouble for a while is suddenly choosing, with no external forcing, to lay off lots of people, only because it's time to move to AI.
Yeah, bull. You haven't even done the work to figure out that AI isn't going to work for your use case yet.

"AI 'Art' is a fad."

I keep being told that no one says this, and then I keep reading people saying it.
The full comment goes on, "It will always be limited to its database of patterns. It can't be unique or original. It doesn't understand the fundamentals of art. It's not creative or intelligent. Don't listen to the hype or doomsday talk. Keep drawing."
Funny enough, I agree with the conclusion, but the logic that got there is hilariously wrong on nearly every point. AI hasn't been a fad for the last 50 years, and it's not a fad now. There are fads cropping up around AI, but AI itself is not the same as the cheerleaders trying to make a buck off of it.

My ex (25M) and I (22F) were together for 3.5 years. I met him when I was 18 and when he was 22. I met him my first semester at college, his last.
My ex and I hit it off pretty well in the bedroom. He had never had sex before, so he was very apprehensive about penetrative sex for the first 9 months of our relationship. However, that didn’t keep him from being interested in foreplay.
I knew from the get-go that he had struggled with porn addiction. I found out when I found his journal that he kept in his car. On a similar vein, he’d ask me about my past relationships quite often. I am fairly experienced because I had my “hoe phase” when I was in high school. So he’d ask me to tell him about those experiences. He’d ask a lot of weird personal questions that I won’t even bother to bring up, because it’s just weird. I also confided in him about my sexual assault that happened between me (when I was 15) and a 27 year old man. He’d ask me questions about that too, sexualizing the situation.
In these conversations about cucking and about my exes, he’d focus a lot on questions about their private areas. This made me really uncomfortable. I knew that he was bisexual at this point in our relationship, but I genuinely thought that I was a “cover-up” girlfriend because of how much he brought up penises. He would send me pictures of guy’s dicks (from Reddit) while we were sexting, and ask me to rate them. And ask me to describe what I liked about them. It really irked me. And I genuinely believed that he couldn’t finish during sex because he was secretly really into men.
Our bedroom life was odd too. He was a very dominant man, which I enjoyed a lot, but he would take it too far sometimes. I don’t think that he understood that when I said “no” or “stop” that I genuinely meant those things. Sometimes I would express that I wouldn’t want to do certain things. For example, I didn’t want to put a buttplug in one time. And I expressed that. But, he insisted that I do it. So I did. There were times where I was in pain, so I asked him to stop. He just wouldn’t. Because “you like the pain.”. How was I supposed to tell a 5’9 280lb man “no”?
Some other things that he did, that I don’t really have time to talk about in length were: making me create another reddit account to post nudes and message other men, asking me to get breast implants (I have DDs), and asking me to have sex with women (I’m not bi).
Looking back, I’m genuinely hurt. I should have put my foot down on a lot of things. I should have told him that I was disinterested in partaking in his fantasies. I should have stuck to my word, and not given-in whenever he brought up those things again. I should have been more communicative and expressed why his actions and his behaviors were hurting me. But, I didn’t.
I broke up with him because I was about to graduate college, about to move in with him, about to be engaged to him (he had a ring). And I said to myself “I can’t do this for the rest of my life”. Obviously, there were other factors. There were PLENTY of other reasons I made the decision I did, but, this behavior in our private lives was a huge factor. I wish I had realized that we were incompatible sooner.
After we broke up, he called and apologized for what he had done. He admitted that everything that he did, he did because porn had taught him that that’s what an intimate relationship was supposed to look like. He explained that he didn’t know better because I was his first long-term partner and his first-time sexually. I wish that I didn’t have to break up with him, and break his heart for him to have realized these things.

Most people who own shares and want to make more money would have incentive to vote for him.
Most people are only going to hear him quoted in things that sound like “Black Panther bad”, and I understand that…but the rest of the points he makes, like in his presentation video, are quite salient.
I’ll name just one as an example of where I’m coming from: most members of the Disney board don’t own many shares in the stock. Their incentive for the stock to go up is therefor not as high as would be ideal. That’s extremely worrying for shareholders and bleeds into extremely frustrating when you see the record salaries they are pulling in as the shareholders watch their investments cut in half. Imagine how that would feel.
Furthermore, boards are supposed to hold CEO’s accountable but many on the board were handpicked by Bob and can’t be counted on to do that.

We don't have an investment in Disney, but I thought it useful to point out the inappropriateness of these leaks to the press.
Only the company and its advisors have access to how shareholders have voted before the day of the annual meeting. My understanding is that it is illegal to release the outcome of the vote prior to it being finalized as it has the effect of manipulating the outcome. Here, the company and/or its advisors have leaked that Disney is winning the contest. It is really inappropriate that they have done so.
And how does one know that it is Disney and/or its advisors that are the source of the leak?
If Peltz were 'winning,' there would be no leaks to the press.
The reason why the progress of an election for directors must be kept confidential until the results are final is that leaking the results can affect the ultimate outcome.
Institutional shareholders worry about offending management by voting with an activist. They are concerned that if management learns that they have voted against the incumbent directors, they may lose 'access' to management going forward. In other words, Bob Iger is less likely to come visit and/or take a call with a shareholder if the shareholder voted with the dissident.
This is clearly a close election. Institutions don't want to risk voting against the incumbent board if it is clear that the activist will lose. They want to be on the winning side of the election.
Here, the company and/or its advisors have leaked the early results in order to tip more institutions and other shareholders to vote for the incumbent board, unfairly tipping the scale in the incumbent board's favor. In other words, an institution may think: if Peltz is going to lose, it is not worth taking the risk of offending management by voting for him.
This is unfortunately not an uncommon practice. Years ago, in our proxy contest with ADP, the company and/or its advisors did the same thing.
The SECGov should do a thorough investigation of this proxy contest and appropriately punish whoever is responsible for this miscarriage of shareholder governance and justice.
Companies of the caliber of Disney and/or its advisors should not behave this way.
Lastly but importantly, I think highly of Nelson Peltz. I am sure he would be greatly additive as a member of the Disney board. Ask yourself, why is the company fighting so hard to keep him off? The fact that the company leaked the early returns to the media is further evidence that an activist of Nelson's caliber deserves to be on this board for all shareholders benefit.
Based on my knowledge of Nelson's capabilities and the dirty tricks implemented by the company and its advisors, I strongly recommend that shareholders vote for Nelson Peltz for the Disney board.
Institutions who have already voted still have time to change their vote. It is time that we make an example of Disney here so that this bad practice does not continue to poison shareholder democracy.

Peltz is a Trump supporter, was a major fundraiser for Ron Desantis. And Perlmutter is actually a close associate of Trump's. Perlmutter isn't backing Peltz out of nowhere, and Perlmutter's Disney stock is apparently managed through Peltz's hedge fund.
So it's less Perlmutter backing it, than Peltz acting as a proxy/front for Perlmutter.
Many of the people they're looking to stick in leadership and on the board have similar associations. And the a lot of the financial backing is coming from Ancora. An investment group largely considered to be a right wing "activist investor" operation. They do things like try to force John Kasich in as the CEO of major freight rail companies.
The whole hostile takeover attempt seems to be a roll out of the GOP's current War on Disney mentality, rather than being rooted in anything else.
Feige is both openly progressive, and closely tied to the Disney leadership these guys are seeking to punish.

Peltz, Perlmutter, and Acuna are currently able to do this because they've all acquired a fuck ton of Disney stock. If Disney stock falls in response to ultimately bad business moves. They just acquire more and consolidate control.

First off, I want to say that I'm Japanese, so none of that "that's racist" crap. I just had the misfortune of looking into an anime series called "Gushing Over Magical Girls" because I saw it on Reddit, which features highly sexualized 14 year old girls, and one of them is even 9 years old. The anime is extremely sexual and is only a step away from being a porn/hentai.

So ok, I know, the typical anime defenders are coming with their pitchforks and downvotes, so let me answer them already:
1. "It's fiction"
A: Yes, but you don't see this kind of pedophilia being promoted and defended on Hollywood movies, video games, comic books, etc. So my question is, why is it only okay for animes/mangas?
2. "It's a niche"
A: If it was so "niche", then this kind of anime wouldn't be discussed and shared on a very mainstream site called Reddit on a very mainstream anime sub. If it was so "niche", then almost no one would have heard of it, unless you really look for it. And yet the people on the anime sub were bragging about how much the anime sold, as if they WANTED the anime to become popular, or perhaps it already was popular.
3. "It's their culture/that's racist"
A: Yes, it's true that this kind of pedophilia is now huge in Japan, and that's a problem. And it hasn't always been that way. Apparently up until about the 1980s, underaged girls weren't considered to be romantically or sexually attractive, for obvious reasons. These "lolicons" used to be mocked as disgusting, socially inept otakus. But there has been this huge push of pedophilia from the anime otaku crowd and how it's okay to sexualize underaged children. And after decades of their propaganda, unfortunately it is working. Animes and mangas are now so popular that it commands a huge social influence. And if most of the animes and mangas sexualize children, then people are going to have warped perceptions. Which is why so many underaged girls in Japan are sexualizing themselves, and so many grown ass men think it's okay to see underaged children in a sexual way.
4. "But the age of sexual consent in Japan is 16... etc."
A: This is a common misunderstanding. The age of sexual consent being 16 simply means that any adult having sex with a 16 year old and younger automatically becomes rape. It is still a crime to have sex with, and also to sexualize a minor under the age of 18, if you're an adult.
5. "This is just Japan shit! Sort out your own problem Japan"
A: This is true and is a valid point. However, it's also spreading to the West and it's attracting many pedophiles from the West. While it's doubtful that pedophilia will fully spread to the West, the decades of pedophile propaganda being pushed in Japan is a cautionary tale, where after decades of pushing pedophile propaganda through anime, they have successfully created a strong pro-pedophile society where any criticisms of pedophilia are shouted down, harassed and attacked by the pedophile defenders. It's almost impossible to have a rational discussion in Japan because you get shouted down, bombarded and harassed by the pedophiles and pedophile-defenders.
In the West, they use the exact same tactics of attacking and harassing anyone who criticize pedophilia in anime.

Bowser: But we don’t have time for that, so Yu would quickly make friends at his new school, and would become caught up in rumors of the midnight channel
Snail: A mysterious channel that only appears on rainy midnights, when Yu tuned in, he saw a shadowy female figure, before almost getting vored by his own TV which… I’m pretty sure is a different kind of midnight channel
Bowser: Naturally, when he tells his two friends about his 1v1 with a hungry ghost TV, they don’t really believe him, so they go to the happiest mall in all of Japan! Junes!
Snail: Uhuh… anyway, he would attempt to demonstrate himself going inside the tv, and was very successful
Bowser: Maybe a bit too successful, as him and his friends accidentally fell into a mysterious TV world covered in fog, where they would come across a strange bear mascot, before they immediately got kicked out

Bowser: And that’s not even talking about the persona themselves! He has some basic ones, like demons, fairies, Oni, but he also has some more notable figures, such as Loki, Isis, Odin, Thor, and the most marketable persona of all! Jack Frost!
Snail: With these persona and his friends, Yu would uncover a mystery, a few weeks after someone appears on the midnight channel, they’re mysteriously murdered, and before that, shadow versions of them appear in the TV world, could these be related?- yes, obviously they are
Bowser: In order to prevent any more of these murders, Yu would form the investigation team, traveling into the TV world to save people from their shadows
Snail: Many of these shadows were parts of people they didn’t want to admit existed, Yu and the investigation team helping them accept these pieces of themselves
Bowser: And as they would, they would gain more and more members, and got closer and closer to finding the culprit of these grizzly murders
Snail: And he could stop them! Yu is able to dodge EM waves, fight and defeat liches, who actively drain your life just by being near them, gaze into the eye Girimehkala’s eye, which can inflict incurable madness, and can even resist direct harm to his soul and existence via his will power
Bowser: But even this would not be enough for their greatest threat, after defeating the person they thought was the killer, Yu would deduce the true identity of the killer, the detective! Because of course the detective and or the cop is the killer in the murder mystery
Snail: But this was no ordinary mystery, as it turns out, the killer was only a mere pawn to the true villain, a literal god
Bowser: Amino-Sagiri would attempt to merge the TV world with the real world due to humanities obsession towards the unknown, the fog
Snail: However, Yu and the investigation team would prove the worth of humanity, proving that they could rise above the fog and find the truth, allowing Inaba to be freed from the fog cursing it
Bowser: While Yu is certainly a fighter, his true power was not his blade, but his heart, helping people face their shadows and find their strength, even with something as grand and unknowable as a god, he was still able to find its heart
Snail: While he may have had to leave Inaba and his friends behind, he would still leave Inaba changed and safe… or did he???

Bowser: However, she did not anticipate the power of friendship, despite her efforts to send Yu to the underworld, he would be protected over and over again by his friends… also a god like transformation didn’t hurt
Snail: Through the force of the bonds he forged, Izanagi would awaken to his true godly form, Izanagi-No-Okami, granting him access to almighty attacks, attacks powered by divine energy that can erase someone “beyond death”
Bowser: With this great power, Yu would defeat Izanami, who would lift the fog from the hearts of man, granting humanity a bright future according to Igor
Snail: While the journey was long and difficult, Yu managed to leave the world a better place then he found it, whether it be in a world of shadows or our own world, Yu will never give up fighting for the truth

Bowser: And one of the many users of the EDEN was a high schooler named Ami, who loved chatting online with her two friends Arata and Nokia. But of course that would change one day when a hacker intercepted their chat and told them to come visit him in one of the dark parts of the web, or else he’d take over their accounts. And you wonder why I don’t give Jr. my Ipad…
Footnote: The protagonist of Cybersleuth’s name and gender depends on what you the player chooses at the beginning of the game, with the male character being called “Takumi Aiba” and the female character being called “Ami Aiba.” For the purposes of this analysis, we will be calling her Ami and using she/her pronouns.
Snail: What a bastard! But it turns out he wanted to help since he gave the three their very own Digimon capture devices. And in this continuity, these guys are some of the best tools you can have for hacking!
Bowser: None of them wanted to be hackers, but that definitely changed when this weird Zebra hentai monster called an Eater attacked them! Arata and Nokia escaped, but Ami… wasn’t so lucky and got half her body devoured.
Snail: Which is really bad when you remember when you use EDEN, you aren’t just using a virtual avatar, you’re uploading your consciousness online. So getting attacked like this… did something weird and caused her to bug out when she logged out into the real world.
Bowser: And gave everyone a massive scare while she was at it. You’d think she’d turned a bunch of Toads into bricks with how everyone reacted!
Snail: Luckily, she was found by a detective named Kyoko-
Bowser: KYOKO KIRGIRI?
Snail: NO! Different Kyoko. As I was saying, Kyoko helped fix Aiba’s condition and took her under her wing, letting her and her pals use her new Digimon to help solve mysteries involving EDEN. Her half cyber body gives her a few unique abilities of her own, like the ability to Connect Jump into any electronic device without help from a terminal or tearing down firewalls.
Bowser: But that pales in comparison to her Digimon army! She’s got a TON of them- more than we could reasonably list here- but there’s a couple things they can all do. Thanks to being able to treat reality like a computer program, they can do insane stuff like mess with the laws and information that make it up, absorb data and other beings, erase people from existence by deleting them, regenerate from wounds and repair their wireframe, and even rewrite their data to better counter their opponent!
Footnote: Digimon have a “texture” that acts as their skin and is the first form of defense for their body, and their wireframe can be considered their bones and organs.
Snail: And some of her more insane Digimon, mostly the Demon Lords like Lucemon and Belphmon and Royal Knights like Omnimon and Alphamon are capable of doing stuff like threatening both the digital and real worlds or beating people who can destroy the Yggdrasil, a tenth dimensional construct!
Footnote: While the Digimon franchise has many different continuities, flavor text for many of the Digimon in both Cybersleuth and its spinoff Hacker’s Memory reference events that happened in other continuities, implying they should be comparable to their more impressive versions.
Bowser: Her Digimon and human pals would definitely come in handy with solving mysteries, and fighting off the Eater threat! …Which Arata became.
Snail: Wait, WHAT?
Bowser: Unfortunately, yeah. He got manipulated by this crazy scientist dude named Seidou, who wanted to learn more about the Eaters by seeing him fuse with one, telling him it was the only way he could become strong enough to protect his loved ones.
Snail: Damn… And to make matters worse, some of the Royal Knights from the Digimon world wanted revenge on humans because- plot twist- the reason the Eaters came into the EDEN was because human emotions attracted them there… and also to the Digimon world, where they wrecked damn near everything and possessed their king. So some of them believed us humans should be punished, so they caused Digimon to leak into our world… And if that wasn’t bad enough, she found out her half cyber body was slowly killing her…
Bowser: All this… hit her pretty hard and made her positive thinking mentality start to slip.
Snail: But with help from Nokia and Kyoko, she was able to keep her chin up! After a very long portion of the plot, she managed to literally punch the Eater of her friend, convince the Royal Knights that the Eaters are the problem, not them, and take the fight to their Mother who was possessing Drasil!
Bowser: Of course though, in plot twist number one billion and four at this point, Seidou- yeah, remember him?- wanted to use the Mother Eater’s power to “evolve” humanity.
Snail: With her Digimon pals, and help from Nokia and Kyoko- who turned out to be Alphamon in disguise- they finally managed to stop Seidou… but Aiba sacrificed herself to comfort him in his last moments.
Bowser: Honestly, that insane kindness is probably her greatest strength and greatest weakness.
Snail: I think I’d agree with you there. But since this is Digimon, she didn’t stay dead since Alphamon brought her back to life with the memories of her Digimon pals!
Bowser: So where is Aiba now? She’s out solving mysteries around Japan with her pals, both Digimon and human alike, showing the world just how far relentless optimism can take you!

They say that with the advent of cinema, which at first was black and white, people who watched movies lost the ability to see color dreams - they were visited only by monochrome dreams. Only with the advent of color cinema and television in the 1960s did new generations again learn to dream in color. If we agree that dreams are the unconscious expression of our experiences, then the influence of television and cinema on dreams raises the question of how much our unconscious experiences reflect subjective experience, and not what we saw on film or television screens (and now on computer screens and smartphones). To what extent is what influences our unconscious drawn from reality, and not from an adaptation of someone’s fantasies - movies, animation or video games?

If you look closely at the works of Satoshi Kon, the idea of merging reality and dreams can be seen in almost all the anime he created. It seems that Satoshi was obsessed with it and constantly tried to express it as fully as possible using the artistic means available to him. Of course, obsessed with such an idea, Satoshi simply could not pass by the 1993 novel “Paprika” by his compatriot Tsutsui Yasutaka, which tells about an apparatus with which psychiatrists can infiltrate into the dreams of patients and cure them of mental disorders. The idea of this novel is very reminiscent of the idea of the novel “The Dream Master” by Roger Zelazny, published back in 1966. However, unlike the Zelazny novel I read as a teenager, Yasutaka’s “Paprika” seemed to me so clumsy and mediocrely boring, and the characters so disgusting that I could not bring myself to read this vile thing to the end, and therefore I will further refrain from going into detail comparison of the original source with its film adaptation, which was carried out by Satoshi Kon. Moreover, Kon bypassed and smoothed out the most disgusting parts of the book to the point of imperceptibility.

What he retained was the atmosphere of a nightmare dream, close to Kon himself, which is closely intertwined with reality, directly influencing it and becoming indistinguishable from reality. The audiovisual style of "Paprika" is indeed like a dream - from the wonderful, bewitchingly strange music, to the borderline absurd, and sometimes reminiscent of feverish delirium, plot, in which the transition between sleep and reality is often not distinguishable, and to the bright and colorful picture, often ominous and frightening, like a nightmare.

As for the plot, as far as I understand, the operating principle of the DC Mini “dream analysis machine” invented by Kosaku Tokito is based on Jungian analytical psychology. The psychiatrist, with the help of a machine, infiltrates into the dream, that is, the individual unconscious of the patient, into his “shadow”, trying to manifest it for the patient’s consciousness. This is what Atsuka Chiba does, but not directly, but with the help of her “shadow” (alter ego). Donning a wig and applying makeup, the stern, cold and purposeful beauty Atsuko transforms into "Paprika" - a cheeky, irresponsible young woman who visits patients "at home" with her DC Mini to penetrate their dreams. And the patients, in turn, literally penetrate her, as Atsuko, “for therapeutic purposes,” copulates with her patients (sometimes with several at the same time). The scene in the hotel at the beginning of the movie, when Paprika gets out of the “patient’s” bed in a robe, taking the DC Mini, is not part of a dream, but a retouched demonstration by Kon of Atsuko’s peculiar “therapeutic practices” in the novel. At the same time, Atsuko considers her sexual promiscuity, committed when she is disguised as Paprika, to be “not real”, since... well, she’s wearing a wig and makeup, and then the patients don’t recognize her on the street, or pretend that they don’t recognize her. However, distancing herself from these actions of Paprika, Atsuko does not hesitate to appropriate all the merits of her alter ego - after all, Paprika, not Atsuko, conducts sessions with patients. In general, Atsuko is okay with hypocrisy and double standards. In addition, she is secretly in love with the infantile genius Tokita, but represses her love into the unconscious (shadow) and cannot (that is, does not want) to accept it as easily as she accepted her penchant for promiscuity.

Besides the cold yet promiscuous, two-faced Atsuko, we have the incredibly childish, obese genius Takito, as well as sexually obsessed by Atsuko her colleague (let’s give Kon credit, in the anime he at least made this colleague a man), and another psychiatrist, a manipulative psychopath, dreaming of enslaving the world with the help of a DC Mini, and on the way to this goal practicing hentai tentacles on Atsuko. In general, we have a whole collection of sexual and other mental deviations - and all this, I note, is only among “psychiatrists.” The author of “Paprika” obviously tried very hard, “smearing” his sexual fantasies and mental deviations across the characters he created. I'm not even sure who in this anime (and book) actually needs medical attention. Atsuko's patient, detective Konakawa, against the backdrop of this whole company of insane psychiatrists, looks like a completely mentally healthy and adequate person.

The individual unconscious of all the mentioned characters is intertwined with each other and with reality, forming a kind of collective unconscious, over which one of them, the psychopath, is trying to seize control. But Detective Konakawa steps in and saves Atsuko from the tentacle monster (thus realizing his repressed movie fantasies). Atsuko finally accepts her “shadow” Paprika, merging with her inside another “shadow” - the robot Takito. Having gained integrity by merging with the “shadow,” Atsuko is reborn and defeats the monster by absorbing it into herself. The latter, however, gives rise to the suspicion that the entire nightmare dream shown to us is nothing more than a figment of the imagination of Atsuko, possessed by her demons. However, here it is worth paying attention to the oddities of double standards in Atsuko’s behavior, and the whole scene of the caranival of deviations no longer speaks of individually suppressed qualities, but of social pressure in Japanese society. Therefore, in addition to the psychological, it is also worth mentioning the social context of “Paprika”, developed in more detail by Satoshi Kon in “Paranoia Agent”. Contextualism and repressive conformism of Japanese culture do not so much psychologically drive the qualities of individual Japanese into the unconscious (this is more characteristic of the Christian guilt culture), but rather force them to consciously hide these qualities (which is characteristic of the Asian shame culture). Suppressed by social norms, unexpressed desires and experiences under the influence of social pressure find a “path to life” through an “alter ego” that acts “against the will,” a double life, a double morality. Or they are expressed directly by the body through psychosomatic disorders. Or the person simply commits suicide. There is also a socially acceptable option - immersion into the dream world. Driven into Japanese “cultural-corporate” ethics, a person suppresses his individuality and turns into a kind of robot, for whom it is only permissible to perform a socially useful function (is this where the frequent allusions associated with robots in anime and Japanese culture come from?) and to imitate, because there is no longer any room left to express “one’s own.”

The unnaturalness of such “instrumentalization” of the individual is obvious and the unexpressed desires and qualities of the “pseudo-robot” are brought to their extreme manifestations and, as a rule, are channeled through socially acceptable forms - through the “dream world” of anime and manga, with its cruelty, sadomaso pornography and “kawaii” - in general, the satisfaction of suppressed desires for every taste. However, if the throughput of socially acceptable forms is not enough, then the “sewer” can break through, releasing all the accumulated “crap” onto the streets of reality. Hence the nightmarish carnival - everything suppressed and hidden has broken through from the unconscious and suppressed into reality and is marching through the streets in an eerie march. And all this “shit” was absorbed by Atsuko. In addition, she also absorbed the opposing “repressive” shadow of a man who was trying to control the world. It’s hard not to assume that this is a kind of feminist manifesto (I note that the heroines of Satoshi Kon’s films are women and he is close to the female worldview). The woman defeats the repressive patriarchy with her boundless tolerance and absorbs all deviations, instead of suppressing and excluding them. Inclusiveness instead of excommunication.

If this is the solution proposed by Kon, then it is wrong. Fantasies of “dream masters” like Kon, their waking dreams, capable of influencing the viewer’s perception of reality through cinema and television screens, often completely replacing real experience, are probably intended to help in “freeing” the viewer from his “shackles”, through incorporation “liberation ideas” into dreams broadcast to the viewer (cinema, video games, anime, manga, music, etc.). Kon not only tried to apply wrong sollution to the problem, he tried to impose it on the viewer through artistic means. But the solution never lies in imposing a “useful” ideology on the viewer by indoctrination through “waking dreams” - the entertainment industry and the media.

As sentient beings, we primarily process reality through our consciousness, that is, by organizing facts into understandable narratives (stories). The very description of reality is at the same time its construction, since it gives meaning to the chaos of facts in order to organize meaningless phenomena into a structure processed by our consciousness. Therefore, narratives (stories) are our tools for structuring reality and comprehending it. Science creates stories (hypotheses, theories, laws, principles, axioms, equations) that help us structure and comprehend reality in the most verifiable way. Art creates stories (literature, film, fairy tales, paintings, poetry) that help structure and comprehend reality in a more immediate and personal way. However, stories, both in the form of art and scientific theories, can misinterpret reality either intentionally (falsely) or due to misunderstanding (mistake). Such false stories create a false picture of reality, thereby distorting the picture of the world. Once a narrative (story) is internalized by people, it becomes their worldview and they adapt all the facts to fit this internalized narrative. If a narrative is false, people will ignore and omit facts that contradict the narrative and/or misinterpret facts to fit into the narrative. Moreover, most people tend to internalize stories that appeas and flatter them. This is where indoctrination comes into play. The ideological narrative creates a “useful” for an ideologist interpretation of reality, appeasing wishful thinking of targeted audience. This creates a convenient lie that one can rely on to feel entitled, feel offended, victimized, and avoid responsibility. And so on until a collision with reality occurs. But even a collision with reality may not help if the story is internalized on a subconscious level. Indoctrination works the same way as psychological trauma or mental illness. By appealing to the desires of the target audience, ideology combines facts into a distorted picture of reality, which has its own logic, or does not have it at all, but is firmly incorporated into the subconscious. Similarly, paranoid delusions can be very logical and coherent, where facts are falsely combined into a fictional schizophrenic narrative. Getting rid of ideological indoctrination can be as difficult as of childhood psychological trauma, which can distort the perception of reality to such an extent that no amount of psychological help will help a fully grown patient. In a certain sense, ideological propaganda is artificially induced madness. A society instilled with a false interpretation of reality, aa insane society, becomes dysfunctional and will gradually collapse. Because reality itself is not a social construct. The delusional belief of ideologues (including some philosophers, scientists, politicians, journalists, activists, and artists) in their power and right to replace reality with false narratives is the highest form of solipsism. All it will do is traumatize and cripple individuals and society to the point of no return. This is the danger of trying to bring ideology to stories, both scientific and artistic. And those who try to impose an ideology must be responsible for its consequences.

The current ideological narrative exploits a hyper-feminized tolerance, which many derive from the critical theory of the Frankfurt School and the works of neo-Marxists such as Marcuse and Derrida, and which René Girard has seen as a reactionary attempt to appropriate and distort the Christian concern with victims after the Nietzschean attempt to force humanity to abandon Christian compassion was defeated. Metaphorically Satan imitates Christ and tries to overcome Him by virtue signaling radical concern for victims. This narrative attempts to attribute a lack of compassion to "toxic masculinity," offering instead "all-salvation" through the feminization of culture and politics with a hyper-tolerance that absorbs all otherness and all deviance, instead of suppressing and excluding them. Inclusivity instead of excommunication, femininity instead of "toxic masculinity" will provide "heaven on earth." Such a narrative is imposed by fashionable ideology. However, this decision is obviously wrong. According to Girard, such a hypertolerance is designed to discredit and finally overcome Christian compassion. Like everything brought to absurdity, devoid of limits and rules, compassion turns into a cancerous tumor, a nightmarish terror that narcissists and psychopaths use to intimidate and corrupt people, and impose a totalitarian mindset ("repressive tolerance" by Marcuse). However, it is not necessary to push tolerance to the extreme to see the falsity of the universalism attributed to it.

The solution does not lie in social acceptance and tolerance of all “repressed” qualities and desires, including deviations. Perhaps, here I should explain what our “shadows” are. These are repressed "qualities" or desires that characters are unwilling to acknowledge, let alone display publicly. The repressed qualities torment people because they are not acceptable for some reasons, but people are afraid that the "shadows" are who they really are. For example, we all have moments in our lives when we catch ourselves thinking and feeling that our thoughts and emotions are, at best, creepy, if not monstrous. But this does not mean that we are all scoundrels and monsters (although some of us are). Once we recognize the existence of such thoughts and emotions as parts of ourselves, we gain the ability to subjugate and control those parts. This is what happens with proper awareness and acceptance of the "shadow". We do not become shadows, but by acknowledging the existence of shadows, we can control them rather than being controlled by them (becoming monsters). Accepting the “shadow” is like admitting your alcohol addiction, which is a necessary step to overcome it instead of becoming an alcoholic. Admitting that you are addicted to overeating is a necessary step to control your appetite and avoid gaining weight. Having a tendency to overeat does not mean that your true self is a glutton. However, if a healthy appetite, as a part of being human, turns into an unhealthy one, and you are unwilling to recognize that appetite as unhealthy, it can completely consume you, and gluttony will define who you are. So it is with the “shadow” - its awareness and acceptance means acquiring conscious control over it, instead of the shadow controlling you through the unconscious.
​
Fashionable ideology suggests a twisted "acceptance" of the shadow - instead of being aware of and controlling it, it is suggested to "tolerate" the shadow by surrendering to it, letting the shadow control you, and ultimately accepting it as your essence. It invites you to be consumed by your shadow. Accept your gluttony, say ideologues, instead of controlling it and enjoying food, let gluttony take over you, because it is not one of the mortal sins, but "body positive". Embrace promiscuity as your sexuality, instead of controlling it and enjoying sex within the confines of marriage, let it take over you, for it is not one of the deadly sins, but sexual liberation from the yoke of oppressive patriarchy. Accept your envy, because it is not at all a shameful desire to appropriate someone else's, to devalue other people's achievements, to be ungrateful and to humiliate those better than you, but a desire for equality and democracy, feminism and the fight against the patriarchy of white men. A person is inspired by the permissibility and unlimitedness of desires. All ethical restraining factors are declared "repressive". Why, say ideologues, restrain sexual desires within the framework of marriage, the opposite sex, or even the human race? Why have and commit to one woman when you can have sex with many different women without any strings attached? Why submit to a man, if you can simply use him through manipulation, get rich at his expense, and then devalue, castrate and leave him, and also pretend to be a victim and blame him for everything? All the hidden desires that a person relegates to his "shadow" are declared by fashionable ideology to be sacred and to be "released" and tolerated. They should be "celebrated".

Fashionable ideology exploits the worst in a person, declaring the shameful to be respectable and virtuous, the immoral to be ethical. All that is base and abominable is not simply tolerated, but is celebrated and proclaimed the height of virtue. All this is done with the help of mass media, politics, art and mass culture that distort reality.
​
Of course, special attention is paid to envy. As pointed out by C.S. Lewis, claims for equality, outside the purely political field, are made only by those who feel inferior in some way. What they express is an itchy, burning, twisted sense of inferiority (shadow) that one refuses to accept. And therefore resents any advantage of another; denigrates him; wants his destruction. One suspects that every simple difference is a claim to superiority. No one should be different. Under the name of envy, this desire has been known to people for thousands of years. But until now they had always considered it the most hideous, as well as the most comical of vices. Those who were conscious of envy were ashamed of it; those who did not realize did not spare it in others. The wonderful novelty of the current situation is that you can sanction it - make it respectable and even praiseworthy - by using the word "equality". Under the influence of this spell, those who are inferior in any or all respects can work harder and more successfully than ever before to bring everyone else down to their level.
​
This is a huge general movement to discredit and ultimately eliminate any kind of human excellence - moral, cultural, social or intellectual. And is it not noticeable how equality is now doing the work that the oldest dictatorships once did, and by the same methods? One of the Greek dictators sent an envoy to another dictator to ask his advice on the principles of government. The second dictator led the messenger out into the grain field, and there he plucked with his cane the top of every stalk that rose above the general level. The moral was simple. Do not allow primacy among your subjects. Let no human live who is wiser, or better, or more famous, or even more beautiful than the mass. Bring everyone to the same level; all slaves, all numbers, all nobody. All are equal. Thus tyrants have always practiced equality. But now "equality" can do the same work without any other tyranny but its own. Now no one needs to walk the field with a cane. The small stalks now bite off the tops of the big ones. And the big ones start biting off the tops of themselves, in the desire to be like others.

Awareness of and acceptance of the a “shadow” in no way means its acceptability and submission to it. On the contrary, it means preventing a shadow from controlling consciousness and gaining control over the shadow itself. For example, Atsuko's awareness of her repressed sexuality does not mean that sexual promiscuity is acceptable. She simply should not deny and suppress her sexuality, but accept its existence and learn to control it, turning it into a morally acceptable head start - getting married and “tormenting” her husband with sexual harassment. Takito's awareness of his infantility does not mean that he should avoid all responsibility and henceforth behave like a child in everything. He should accept his infantility and channel it into creativity, into new inventions, without spreading it to other aspects of his life, where he needs to behave like an adult man. By the way, if there was a way out for the main antagonist-psychopath who was trying to control the world, then the solution for him would be to realize and accept his low level of empathy by finding socially acceptable forms of self-realization. For example, it is known that surgeons, judges and law enforcement officers have increased aggressiveness. However, they channel their sadistic and psychopathic tendencies into socially acceptable and useful forms. After all, not everyone would dare to cut living flesh with a scalpel, detain an armed criminal, infiltrate a criminal organization, or send a person to prison for decades. Thus acceptin shadow means turning what could be vices into virtues, instead of becoming enslaved by vices.

Nevertheless, at one time “Paprika” charmed me not at all with its, perhaps erroneous, moralite. You can get purely audiovisual pleasure from this anime, without really thinking about the meaning. The plot is quite dynamic and twisted, with elements of suspense and mysticism characteristic of Satoshi Kon. Well, Satoshi’s directing and editing are simply amazing - on the level of the old Hollywood masters. Add here good animation, a beautiful picture, a beautiful main character (in both of her guises) and excellent music, season with a fair amount of surrealism and you get “Paprika”, ready to charm and entertain you even if you are not ready to think about the plot.

Making a throwaway for this one. I couldn't resist sharing the story of this ridiculous shadowrun game I ran that recently concluded.
TL;DR, my Shadowrun game turned into a HFY Campaign and several people who heard about it threw a fit at me over hate crimes in a fictional game while they meme about hating elves. I also got called a dumb slut for putting a happy ending in shadowrun. It's mostly me recounting the hilarious game story and the horror story towards the end, if you just want to skip to that.

My friends and I decided to check out Shadowrun 5e after playing the videogames and we looked over the lore to learn about the setting. The funny thing we noticed immediately was how the metahuman races were defined in the lore and mechanics seemingly justified the negative stereotypes around them. While looking at the dwarfs, orks, trolls and elves, how they function in the setting and work mechanically, we all arrived at one point...
We all pretty much agreed that the Humanis Policlub were the good guys.
Its hard to explain without going into a deep dive into shadowrun 5e's mechanics and lore, but basically all the stuff that Humanis says in Shadowrun: Dragonfall about Ork and Troll labor, Dwarven nepotism and Elves clogging up the job market...is just objectively true.
This led to my party of Humanity Fuck Yeah Punk Rockers.
We had a female street samurai who grew up in the barrens, ignored and passed over by metahuman centric charity groups, leaving her to be taken in and given food and a bed by the Humanis Policlub. While she was SINless and couldn't vote or the like, she was good muscle for the group (Calling HPC a gang is somewhat inaccurate. They're like 50% gang, 50% political activist group). This led to her getting chromed up and becoming a killing machine in the streets.
One player was a female decker who's family was booted out by the megacorps and they couldn't survive working normal jobs since Ork labor is cheap enough to drive down the minimum wage to a level that cannot support human life. She ended up going to Humanis protests demanding a higher minimum wage that was livable for humans, however EVO simply called them racist for saying humans should be paid more and had them smeared and slammed by the fuzz. Also Elf execs dont see a point in accommodating lesser races like humans or orks, and it just so happens that orks can survive in worse conditions. This led to her using recycled neuro-implants and digitized skillset from her mother (A trained EVO Decker) so she could crack the matrix spine.
Two guys independently came up with the same backstory. A cyber-ninja corpo spy and a KE Paladin cyber-soldier were both burned by their parent corp since big corps can just clone legions of Ork Prototype-Transhumans with more cyberware/bioware than normally bred humans or metahumans can get. Both barely escaped before they were hunted down for 'recycling'.
The last was an Aztlaner wage-slave who was sent to the sun altar to be sacrificed after testing positive for the TK Gene. Growing up in a blood magic religion, he ended up hating it and "awakened" just before he had the blood removed from his body. He become something called a Pariah, basically an anti-mage, with telepathic/telekinetic powers. This was more of a hand of god thing since everyone understood a mage was kind of important to shadowrun, or at least someone who could fight magic, so we refluffed it that he was mundane, he just hated magic enough that he had pariah powers, and was naturally a psychic like from the Market Panic book.

Funny enough, I barely gave the players any 'jobs'. They runners had motives and I tailored quests around those motives so 90% of the campaign (Barring some filler sessions where they did side-quests to get toy money) was just their self directed mayhem.
This campaign basically had 6 big arcs.
  1. The gang decided to raid Ares, seeing the megas as responsible for the horrible economy and the megacorporate dystopia. This led to them burning a lot of shit and uncovering a conspiracy by Ares execs to conjure an army of bug spirits. They fought Damien Knight in a mech-suit, then the second phase of his boss fight was him as a bug-monster, then the third phase involved him becoming a living bug hive dinosaur that they fought from stolen Ares fighter crafts. They used a headcase they freed and gave drugs to in order to distribute Damien Knight's bank accounts to the people of Seattle.
  2. They got a list of seat-hogging elves and traced most of them to a swanky elf-town in the Puyallup barrens. The gang went on a pillaging and burning spree, intent on assassinating execs to clear the way through the corp. As it happens, corporate execs have whole legions of clone soldiers protecting them so the party kinda got outmanned, however one of the new execs who rose up the ranks thanks to them ended up getting them captured before they could be killed. This suit from Mitsuhama hired them to plant dirt on several of the targeted execs to cause internal purges. This also led to them uncovering a human/metahuman trafficking ring run by elven nobility who deal in slaves, followed by the subsequent John Browning of the whole operation. The final boss of this arc was a noble slave broker who ran the trafficking operation, along with his two nova-coke fueled, adept stripper assassin bodyguards. Samurai's player said the final boss had to stop until I played Wu-Tang Clan in the background; obviously I agreed.
  3. There's a cabal of dwarven landlords called "Reclaimers" who use old or even forged deeds of ownership to displace families in properties they want or can flip for cheap. Imagine if the Dead Kennedys "Let's Lynch The Landlord" was a quest chain and you got the right idea. They also uncovered dwarven businessmen funneling water and food to dwarven neighborhoods and private businesses while allowing the subsequent shortages elsewhere to create food riots in human and ork parts of town. Learning from last time, they just exposed this fact and the uproar was enough that Humans was able to actually make some legislative difference in guaranteeing human neighborhoods and wages alongside the ork, dwarf and elf neighborhoods. (For those of you who don't know, Trolls are pretty rare and typically lumped in with orks)
  4. While doing espionage for Humanis against the Salish Shidhe Council (a rival political group with standing in the free city of Seattle), they uncovered a conspiracy by elven nobles to purge the Salish Shidhe tribes around Seattle to clear the way for their elven kingdom growing out of Oregon. Basically humans are a lesser race sure, but humans using magic is like a chimp with a rocket launcher, so the Salish Shidhe tribes with their large shamanic bend are considered a serious threat. This led to an enemy of my enemy bit where they worked with a roster of Salish Council NPCs to help squash the conspiracy. Unfortunately, this arc ended with the former KE Paladin giving his life in battle against the elf paladins by sacrificing himself to detonate a nuclear bomb inside the Telestrian HQ, killing the CEO and several nobles, as well as blanketing Portland with radiation. The rest of the party managed to smuggle a bunch of slaves out of Oregon while a new character joined the party (A human slave who was captured during a slave raid into the Salish Shidhe tribes).
  5. A brief filler period of Mr.Johnson jobs and gang war against the Ancients (Elf supremacists), Sons of Sauron (Ork/Troll Supremacists) and 88s (White supremacists), however this turned into the party encountering a mage gang led by a dragon. They also had to solve a bunch of murders done via mind control, remote ritual and the like. They uncovered a dragon lair beneath the city, however they find out the dragon is actually just a naga who duped everyone into believing it was a dragon, leading to a boss fight with a high magic snake. This did a number on the party, leaving only the Decker and Street Samurai ladies alive, and the Samurai had to drag the dying Decker out in a blanket of trauma patches.
  6. By this point the party started to blend a bit as two of my players wanted to try out the other metatypes. We ended up with an ork kunoichi, an elf mage and a human rigger. There was a fair bit of roleplay as I tried to figure out what to do at this point, mostly with kunoichi talking about her self-loathing due to Shiawase's anti-metahuman brainwashing, the elf mage working with the two surviving humanis members just so she can feed her son, the samurai dealing with increasing symptoms of cyber-psychosis, the decker aspiring to life as a digital being in the matrix as a method of guaranteeing an afterlife for herself, and the rigger bringing a real zen vibe to the party via prayer and trying to convert the rest to Islam. Things became more typical shadowrun here with Mr.Johnson jobs and I attempted an arc where they fought ghouls, werewolves, vampires and stuff but that one was aborted early since it seemed like the party found ghoul-bashing a bit boring after bypassing high security areas and the like. So I gave it a think and had their next mission set up. They had to go to the Lunar Colony that I decided exists and prevent the assassination of the Ork king of Urkazzah (A nation I decided exists). Things got all Deus Ex/Neonoir here as they were getting involved in politics and trying to decide if they even wanted to save the Urkazzahn king given his Wakanda-tier politics about foreigners, non-orks, cybernetics, religion, telepaths and clones. Eventually they found out Alamos 2000 (Evil pro-human terrorist organization, not to be confused with our upstanding and good pro-human terrorists) was behind the assassination plot and their plan was to cause a huge uproar in Urkazzah, destabilizing it and its neighbors, causing all kinds of strife there that would result in cheap labor and a lot of weapons spending via the local warlords. They end up deciding to help him to spare the lives of those in Urkazzah and around since, while they're not human, they still believe in people's right to exist in their own homelands. However Urkazzah didn't believe the humanis characters (aka. none of them had good social skills and the cyberpsycho was the closest thing they had to a face. Kunoichi was actually more of a face but we didn't think of using her until after the big meeting scene. Oh well.) The plan then became kunoichi knocking out and disguising herself as one of the king's concubines, then using drugs to stun and kidnap the king as the assassination began. Since she was silent, Alamos had no idea he was gone and blew up his empty estate. While they hid the king with their Mitsuhama corporate contact from the second arc, the party took out the main Alamos compound with a bunch of sci-fi weapons from the toy-box (Power armor, grav belts, medi-gel, plasma guns, punch guns, etc.), then they got in a final boss fight with the Grand Wizard of Alamos 2000, then had to disarm his doomsday device before it blew up the moon. The king wakes up in their safehouse and confronts the players as they leave the compound to a mob of police and reporters. Samurai dropped the hardest line I think I heard all campaign and will never forget. As I open my mouth to speak as the king, she cuts in: "King, if the next words out of your mouth aren't 'thank you', we're gong to have a real fucking problem on our hands."
There was an epilogue after this where I described the PR boom for Humanis and the huge political wave in the free city of Seattle due to improved relations between them and the Salish Council, also with Mitsuhama support. Human centric politics boomed with a huge mainstream revival of native american culture and the establishment of a mage's guild to regulate the use of magic. Humanis' anti-megacorp policies led to hardcore trust-busting and mega-busting, spurred on by evidence of Ares' bug plot and the unilateral control that dwarven companies had over the city's fission centers or agri-complexes. The values of human democracy became the norm in Seattle, with proper state police and military used to enforce the laws. Basically the power of DEMOCRACY! fixed the setting and the Humanis President had to flex only once by sending the Seattle army against Aztechnology for refusing to comply. Slavery was abolished, clones were given civil rights and the clone militaries were disbanded, and things were generally gucci for everyone (Altho laws were put in place to limit elves and dwarves due to their long lifespans, but they're elves and dwarves so they're lucky that they're allowed to live in Seattle).
Lastly there was a bit of a timeskip where we saw the runners enjoying their happily ever after in Seattle.

So where is the horror story in all of this?
That came in the reactions I received to this campaign from other people on Discord. Essentially every few sessions one of my players would post about the funny shit we got up to and I would get DM'd asking me if I knew I was running a hate game or letting my players run as neo-nazis. As they were not in the game, I tried explaining what it was actually about- a group of human centric punks fighting uppity elves and dwarves, and violent orks and trolls, evil mages, evil vampires, evil zombies, evil nobles/elites. It's basic D&D shit. But these people were immune to reason and just kept insisting that they knew more about my game than I did. I started ignoring them after a while, then I noticed these same people were posting shit about how elves deserved the die and orcs were savages and witches should be burned...you know, basic D&D shit. As they kept pinging me about my game that they weren't even in, I started pointing out the hypocrisy and how they would post about the same stuff we were doing. They just kept repeating the same crap and even began all-caps-raging at me about how Humanis were nazis (they're not even close), they're white supremacists (they're not, they're human supremacists), they hate native americans (they don't, human NAs are human too), they hate cybernetics (they don't, several stat blocks for their membership include cyberware, with dedicated combat cyborgs) they're terrorists (they're not, they're at worst a violent gang, but most of what they do is human community outreach), and eventually I just told them "Look, it's my game, this is how the faction works," and then I just got dogpiled, telling me I was running the game wrong. It wasn't one big explosive thing, it was just a deluge of insults about a game they weren't even in. My players got it too, and the server mods eventually had to step in to mute them for insulting my players so much. My players eventually stopped posting about the campaign all together and we just ran the rest of it in a private group DM while blocking the people giving us shit over it.
Like a week after the campaign concluded and we all had a good time, we were on the main server in voice chat talking about unimportant stuff when suddenly a guy jumps into chat and starts actually screaming at me. It's ear splitting and grating and we just jump out of VC to escape it since we're not sure wtf is going on at first. While we're typing and about to ask what that was, the screamer starts calling me retarded and my non-canon game trash and my non-canon ending a reason why dumb sluts shouldn't run shadowrun since we just get D&D all over the place. Yes, he used non-canon like an insult to try and invalidate our fun, and said I was getting D&D all over the place. He kept ranting at me about how shadowrun can't have happy endings and democracy doesn't work and humanis is racist and can't win and humans can't win because dragons and how i was contradicting a metaplot that was not at all relevant to the game and how dare I and shit like that just at full blast. He also decried my ending as jetsons bullshit, which I found funny enough to share. Samurai reported him to the mods and he got muted quickly.
The mods cleaned up the mess pretty quickly by muting him for the night. The next day, again while in VC with my friend plotting his game next, the guy starts posting actual hentai of orcs screwing humans and elves, calling me a slut who enjoys it and saying things I don't think I'm allowed to say on reddit. That got him booted quickly and the mods cleaned up the scene again. After that, things stayed quiet but the insane reaction I got just made me have to post it here, tho I'm using an alt so if I attract more weirdos, I don't have to deal with them.

The stories in gacha generally tend to be confusing for various reasons, whether it be poor pacing and execution, not planning the stories in advance or even just plain old poor localization/translation. I really enjoy the story of Snowbreak tho, even despite some of the above issues but it is hard to fully grasp and appreciate at times so partially for me and partially for anyone confused or those infidels who skip the story, I wanted to make a summary that is as clear and consice as possible.
I will try to go over as much as possible without going into too much detail, if I am incorrect somewhere or I am missing something please let me know and I will fill it in. Also note that a lot of this is just my understanding and interpretation of the story as there are still questions yet to be explained.

So the Yehrus act starts with us being shot.
Shortly after the end of chapter 11 (fogbound dream) where we helped dissolve the board of Yggdrassil we were sent out on clean up missions to rid the company of the late member's sympathisers, essentially rooting out their agents with our operatives.
During these inspections, Lyfe and the Adjutant are shot (Lyfe while protecting the Adjutant) and while the adjutant regains consciousness relatively soon he remains severely hampered by his injuries as well as having issues due to a bullet shard remaining close to his heart.
Due to this Tau begins to unravel, seemingly already rattled after the dismantling of the board and the new workload and responsibilities this heaped upon her she grows more and more distrustful and paranoid.
She intends to protect the adjutant by sending him away on a mission with very few operatives who were unlikely to be involved, while the rest of the Heimdall force is to be investigated, as well as rest of the company. To this end she creates a new investigative force and grants them great agency and powers.
Enter Tess Kotkin a up and coming magician with a past connection to the Adjutant who joined Yggdrassil to improve her family's lot but mainly to follow after the adjutant who made a big impact in her life (as you do when you are a protagonist) when he was teaching at her school a few yers ago as part of a mission.
She was working on the borders of Yehrus as a secret agent for Yggdrasil, eliminating its enemies, spying for information and generally making herself a nuisance to the powers that be over there.
The adjutant, Haru, Tess and Chenxing (who misteriously dissapers after the first chapter and is back at the headquarters later) are sent to work with a representative of the people of Yehrus, Duchess Orlova on a seemingly peaceful mission, to deliver Eatchel Gustav the only remaining direct family member of their old leader Gustav a symbol under which the entire Yehrus territory could muster and to investigate the new Titagen tree that sprouted there after events in chapter 10.Why Tau had her is not really explained nor is why Tau made a deal with Orlova to begin with, but I assume it was part of a deal to hide the adjutant and for her help in invetigating the tree.
On our way there a lot happens, including the reveal of Eachel being the "cargo" for delivery, as we are attacked by what seems like remnants of the coyotes from the containment zone. They were there to seemingly under the orders of the Kwarena military, a large regiment of soldiers from military that has been charged with keeping peace in Yehrus. Sadly as it turns out these guys are as evil and corrupt a they get and used the desperation of the coyotes, who seemingly lost their leader (chapter 11 I believe) and many of whom are dying from titagen infection to turn them into shock troops and throw them at the Heimdall force in an attempt to steal Eatchel and solidify their rule over Yehrus.
Later it turns out this wasnt entirely correct, while they rule Yehrus with iron fists they were using their charges, the citizens of Yehrus to experiment with Titagen under orders of Omega a previous board member of Yggdrasil, Yehrus native and one of its former generals and heroes. Stealing Eatchel was just a part of his larger plot to get the titagen tree in Yehrus under control and become immortal via assuming a Vessel that was part titan.
Adjutant and the present operatives overcome the Kwarena and coyote attack and keep Eatchel safe, Tess gets killed but dont worry she is fine, and with her would be death she separates the coyotes from Kwarena and they dissapear from the story for now.
The group arrives in Pribor, the mansion of duchess Orlova and the story gets really rather confusing here.
To the best of my understanding there is a very precarious balance of power in Yehrus, on one hand we have Kwarenah, representatives of the military who secretly work and are loyal to Omega, on the other hand we have the actual military who will soon arrive after the adjutant gives them the news about the defection of Kwarenah and try to do good on their promise to protect people of Yehrus. We also have Yggdrassil whose only interest in this location and conflict seems to be recent because of the tree and possibly commercial beforehand. And finally the free people of Yehrus, a resistance group of sorts that is under control of Orlova who has long planned to take back Yehrus for its people and out of hands of any kind of invaders.
The events in the mansion are more of a political nature as Orlova is trying to keep a thumb on what influential people are with Kwarenah and which are with her, recruit people to her side, eliminate or gain information on those who are not, but seemingly the arrival of Eatchel speeds up both her plans and Omega's as the mansion is almost immidiately thrown into chaos as Kwarenah tries to steal her and at the same time squash the resistance.
At the same time, Katya makes her debut in this act and actually steals, or more or less convinces Eatchel to leave with her so that they both can attain revenge against Omega, Eatchel would be used as more or less a bait for Katya to get closer and eliminate him. However Omega sees this coming, siezes Eatchel while Katya is on the run and gets injured, hiding in the bunker under Orlova mansion.
In the meantime Adjutant starts noticing that Kwarenah soldeirs use new modified gun that shoot Titagen, very dangerous to Manifestations due to flooding and generally deadly for ordinary people who turn into Titagen monsters after being shot. He also notices that he has some sort of connection with the Titagen and sees memories and such through it.
Kwarenah beat back the resistance and they hide in the bunker, Adjutant and Orlova cooperate with one another, he finds Katya and recruits her with his hentai protagonist sex appeal and learns of Omega's involvement. At the same time he gets to interrogate an agent of the investigative unit Tau established and learns that they were infiltrated from the begining and the reason behind their missions being compromised, as well as that Omega was behind the attack on their headquarters that ended with him being shot.. with a titagen bullet no less, explaining his new connection to the titagen (which sort of builds on his already preexisting relationship with it via Edda).
He contacts Tau and gives her a stern talking to, telling her she should just trust him and his operatives, that they are not tools and that she has grown paranoid. This somehow works and leads to her having a change of heart.
The second chapter (12a) ends with us infiltrating Suzdan (?) airspace center where Omega resides and is currently experimenting on Eeachel to finish his plans of activating the tree, becoming immortal and using Valhalla to somehow create a new world or whatever, this is super unclear. And we learn via Katya, who can perceive Titagen due to her time as titagen phantom, that adjutant is now able to process and transform titagen... no clue what it means in practice but there it is.
In the last chapter (12b) we start getting cooperation from Tau as Lyfe wakes up, suddenly having a link to the adjutant and an even deeper connection than their love facilitated previously due to something or other, likely also being hit by the titagen bullet but who knows. She explains the situation the adjutant is in and Tau sends the whole team over with different tasks.
In the meantime, adjutant, Tess, Haru and Katya continue to try and find Eachel, while making plans on how to deal with the tree. With adjutants new super powers he can hopefully deal with it and after being trained a bit by Katya (by hugging, which Haru didnt enjoy) she calls him hopeless orders them to leave. But that would suck so it doesnt happen.
Omega attacks them while adjutant is weakened and in a heartwrenching moment Haru is shot with Titagen bullet and sacrifices herself for the adjutant, refusing to be cured with the bullet and instead goes floded to fight off their enemies. In the meantime Orlova goes on offensive and starts her revolution, destroying the old bunker that they were fighting Kwarenah in, sacrificing many of her soldiers for destruction of a huge portiong of Omega's army.
As the tide of battle turns, Omega slowly loses control over his army and we learn that the military plans to drop a nuke on the Suzdan airspace if the tree isnt dealt with (typical) and that doctor Kent, the mastermind behind Omega's technology (the vessesels, immortality and titagen weapons etc.) has escaped, or rather that someone helped him get away from Omega taking all of his notes and research, we are not sure who but likely its one of the other ex board members as Omega knows who it was.
We find Eachel, adjutant goes badass and absorbs the titagen from the container she was in after which he proceeds to do nothing as Eachel destroys all the soldiers in their vicinity and passes out. But he gets called out by Lyfe and Eachel for being a dummy and he wakes up promptly.
The adjutant team makes their way to Omega who is completely alone by now, they are contemplating whether to kill him or not, Tess has a hypocritical moment about not killing people after being an assasin for a year Katya calls her out on. There is a phylosophical debate on the nature of power and how it corrupts, Tess understands her hypocricy but says that the situation is different now and that they dont have to be like Omega, they are not monsters possesed by the energy of power. Katya is sceptical and wonders how adjutant will deal with his increasing power and position, if he will also be consumed by it, he cant answer but comments that power is more like a view point where everyting and everyone loses their humanity and importance, so they can be used and abused as seen fit by the on with power. Omega is sick of their bullshit and tries to kill adjutant which prompts Katya to get her revenge.
The team consisting of Lyfe, Kaguya and the star of the show Fenny get shot down on their way to Yehrus, Fenny kicks some ass and they eventually get into the aerospace center where they find the now awake adjutant with Orlova who has near complete control over the aerospace now and bargains with adjutant over Eachel. She doesnt believe adjutant can deal with the tree and has her plans to blow it up.
The adjutant team is tryin to convince her they can do it without the explosions but Orlova doesnt buy it, revealing Haru's flooded uncoscious body touting that if he couldnt help her, how could he handle the tree. But luckily Lyfe team brought deus ex machina in form of Memento Mori fragment that we got from the version of Edda that fell out of the titan in chapter 10, which somehow lets aborb and conform the titange in Haru with help from Lyfe and Eachel (who can also go to Valhalla because of the experiments Omega and Kent did on her), showing they have what it takes and saving Haru in the process. (Thank god)
Orlova has some nice inner thoughts (after some really badass moments when innitiating the rebellion) about how hard it was for Yehrus and for her, trying to be heartless for the good of her people and sacrificing so much that she doesnt even deserves to be sad but essentially not wanting to give up on all hope and in the end decides to trust in the adjutant opening a path for them.
In the meantime we get snapshots of what the other operatives are up to as they think of the adjutant and how to help him, Nita and Yao meet captain Li from the military after bring them bald inhibitors from Yggdrassil for the people and soldiers to fight of the titagen escaping from the tree. Nita and Yao decide to go against orders and try to help the adjutant but learn from Li as they plead with her for help that there is only one hour untill the nuke comes in as the military learned of some secret assasination order from the leader of Kwarenah, but they dont know who at the time.
It turns out its Orlova, who has been betrayed by someone close to her, as her respirator, which she needs for breathing has been laced with Titagen and as she is alone waiting on the adjutants team to do their part of the deal, she is shot by the assassin with a titagen bullet, turning into a titan.
Adjutant and team arrive at the base of the tree, finding Orlova still fighting off to keep her consciousness and help the adjutant defeat her.
At home, Tau is doing her part by preparing to bully the media despite being an old introvert, but another ex member of the board interrupts to talk shit about her and her company, making things difficult for her.
The ending is rather abrupt as we only see the Adjutant get into Valhalla, choke a little girl to defeat the consciousnes of the tree after she faked a vaction for him and he wakes up several days later.
The nuke was called off by general Adrian (one of the people who appeared in the nature of power phylosophical debat, we will likely see more of him possibly in antagonistic form in the future), we dont find out anything about the media outcome other than it all turned out fine because the tree was destroyed. Eachel gets to become a child soldier and stay with us because the military wusses out of claiming her because of the whole nuke thing and the tree in Yehrus is gone, signalling a new sun filled day in this broken country that will hopefully begin to heal.
We also get a sort of epilogue where we learn more about Orlova and what prompted her to do what she did and also a hint that she may have survived as consciousness in Valhalla and thanks to adjutants power, he can possibly bring her back, hinting she could be a future operative (and hell yea, she is cool) And Tau shows up in person to give adjutant props for his work and tell him he was right telling her off, and her paranoia created a lot of unneccessary issues for them.

So thats it, I likely missed a lot of details and nuances and this was written from the top of my head so the pacing and structure is all over the place, sorry, but hopefully this will be helpful to someone.
