TL;DR: My dad said to my mom when I took out my new fidget toy after a fairly traumatic day: “he’s (not my preferred pronouns) just going into ‘Autistic Mode’”. He said that he would look into group homes tomorrow again because I “treat them like shit”. I shut down around them, and have been doing so for at least a week or more. I don’t have a job, freshly graduated from college as of December, and I have been struggling to get interviews. I have been using my university’s career services and got accepted into Vocational Rehab, but my parents keep threatening to kick me out of the house and be done with me.

For reference, I am highly confident I am Autistic and ADHD, but I have not been officially diagnosed. I have a referral and am in the process. My med manager is treating me with non-stimulants which work well and have increased executive function. I have also been exploring my being queer over the last few years, but only recently tried to explain to my parents in totality last November.
I knew they are queerphobic, and I knew that I annoy / upset them when I don’t talk and engage, and that when I talk it’s too much and not about the right thing. I just wanted to believe I was wrong. I wanted to believe I was reading into things because I’ve had so many past experiences where what I felt and what I thought turned out to be false. And they say they love me, and they love me so much that they hate to see me in pain, and so I wanted to believe that it’s true.
The last few days have been hard. My parents had family friends over (that have known me since I was a baby, and they have two adult children that didn’t come this round) for memorial day weekend from out of state. Since seeing the friends last, I have been doing a lot of self-discovery and further accepting the queer parts of myself. I hadn’t been planning to change my name, until by happenstance I found one online that I wanted to be mine due to it's simplicity and androgynous nature. But my parents (and my brother, though he has trans friends) have not been supportive. I just thought they raised me and gave me a name they picked out and so didn’t want to use a new one. It doesn’t make it better, but it’s something.
But they have made it clear in past conversations that it would be unfair for me to tell family friends and extended relatives. And so I spent all of last week before the weekend trying to debate whether I should tell the family friends that were coming over in a text message before they arrived. I tried to summon the courage, but I ended up not doing that. So when I first saw them, I shut down when their first words were “Hey, ”. I decided that I would make myself scarce because I knew I would just keep shutting down and having trouble speaking with them. Literally, it would be the same as with my parents where either the words don’t come or I don’t have the energy to get them past my throat.
So, I tried to be polite when I saw them and just didn’t engage in extensive conversation. When they left, my dad told me I was rude and selfish, and that I need to write them a letter to apologize. I ended up sending them a text today to apologize (didn't explain everything), but I didn’t want to send a letter because I am tired of using my dead name, and I would need to sign it.
I have been trying to avoid my parents even though we live in the same house because I don’t have a job yet. I recently graduated from college in December, but I have not been able to get interviews. I have been making use of my university’s career services and made appointments with the head of engineering to make my resume more appealing in terms of software engineering. I graduated with Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Computer Science, Creative Writing, and Linguistics. I just want a job right now, and computer jobs pay well. I am hoping to figure out something beneficial in Creative Writing later, maybe Ghost Writing or something that might pay better than that. I also got accepted to use Vocational Rehab, and so I have been working with them.
But, since I am avoiding my parents, they believe I am trying to make it clear that I hate them. They consistently say that I “treat them like shit” and I am “lazy and just want an easy life”. Today has been a hard day after all the turmoil over the last week, and so I have had very little energy. I thought I could be experiencing depression, but I know what that feels like and where it leads. I am not there yet. So, I think the best word to describe it is probably dejected. Like the people who are constantly in my life don’t want me. In the late afternoon, I decided I didn’t just want to sit up in my room anymore, so I drove down to my bookstore to browse, and then checked to see if I could refill my meds. I had about an hour where I started feeling happy and enjoying myself, especially being able to browse the books and look at the descriptions on the back and recording the ones I want to read for later.
When I got home for dinner so my parents didn’t get mad, it was like all that happiness disappeared the moment I saw them. I could not move my face even if I wanted to, to pretend like I was cheery and all right. We got dinner out, and then I sat down. The counselor I like seeing at career services is also an ADHDer. I saw her last week to go over more plans for jobs, and she showed me the various baskets of stim toys she keeps on her bookshelf to hand out to students. She gave me one that’s a tightly knit, long rectangle and has a small glass ball inside. You squeeze it and the ball moves back and forth.
I haven’t used stim toys much growing up because I thought I was supposed to bear all the frustration and anxiety. But I have been trying to treat myself kinder over the last few months. So, I’ve been taking that stim toy with me, and had it when I went to the bookstore. With dinner set up, my parents were trying to get me to interact and “be better”. Without thinking, I took out the stim toy. My dad said I was going into “Autistic Mode” and that they can’t do anything. He will look at group homes again tomorrow.

Up until that moment, I had doubts. I thought that they really were trying to accept me and it was just hard, especially with all the queerness and years of mental health management (since 2019 when I broke down). But over the last month or so, I’ve had various times where I needed to record my mental health history for intake and I started talking about my parents and how I am starting to recognize the gaslighting and emotional abuse.
I have also been trying hard to remember the good moments. But I can't remember a moment where I was showing signs I am clearly Autistic or ADHD, and that they genuinely enjoyed and loved it. Especially as I've gotten older. I remember them expecting me to get good grades in school from the beginning. If it wasn't "A"s they were upset, and if I failed a test they told me to study again and took me down to school to convince the teacher to let me test again. If I couldn't prove I knew the material and the teacher didn't let me retake it, then I was shunned on the way home.
I want so much to be wrong. I want so much for them to be right and that it's me who is abusing them like they say it is. I don't know why--I don't really feel any emotional love for them and I don't think I ever did, I just don't want them to suffer--but if I am the one who's hurting them then maybe I can change and stop. Maybe I can get better and show them love and be nice to them like they deserve. I wouldn't need to make a plan to estrange myself from them when I am on my feet to better take care of myself. I wish it was me.
I don't know why I am writing all of this. You all have your own problems and don't need to load on mine, and I am not going to pretend I have it the worst even just in my own city. I also feel manipulative, like I am only writing the bad parts and that I should try to remember and describe the good parts.
I just don't have anyone I can talk to right now. I have been out of therapy for a few months. I have been on wait lists for more experienced therapists dealing with gender-affirming care, since that has become a bigger problem. I have something scheduled for the middle of next month with a more general therapist and a referral to a specialized therapist as well.
But I just want to talk to someone who understands. I don't have that in my life. When doctors ask me if I have anyone I can just vent to or trust, I can't think of anyone. I have one friend, but since graduating we only meet up once a month. I can share a lot with her and she is supportive, but then I feel like that one meeting is filled with me trying to vent and seek therapy from her. I don't really want more social interaction, but I want to feel like someone sees me, the real me, and they actually like what they see.
I plan to call the suicide hotline tomorrow. Not because I am suicidal, but because I was told I don't need to be suicidal to call. I know my parents will hear me on the phone if I call tonight, and I don't really want to spend a long time writing out the words in a text to the text number to explain everything when the person on the other end might not be able to fully understand, and so they would just tell me what they think I need to hear. But I guess I'd get the same from the phone call.
I don't know how to wrap this up, and it sounds when I read this over like I am quite lucid and therefore being petty by putting this here. I am lucid, but it doesn't really help me feel better. I can't lie to myself anymore; I've been trying so hard to not lie to myself when I spot it. I am sorry for the long rambling and various tangents. I just want to put this somewhere where people might understand.

I hope our His Majesty or the higher authority can investigate this matter seriously about all my submissions and the facts that I stated here, to prevent the same problem from occurring again, & also to prevent more victims like me from being treated unfairly by the judicial system in Brunei.
The purpose of writing this article is to awaken & raise awareness about the judicial system in Brunei. And I think people have the right to know the facts & inappropriate judicial system in Brunei. My case number is HCCS 136 of 2009 & Appeal no. COACV/4/2023. I hope people can read through the judgment, & I hope the court will not remove the judgment from their website following the publication of this article.
After the partial profits of $195,300.00 paid to me by the plaintiffs, the plaintiffs & I entered into a Deed of Settlement Agreement to resolve all our disputes. A few months after signing the Deed of Settlement Agreement, the plaintiffs filed the proceeding against me, they also made up 2 major evidence a fraudulent payment voucher of $195,300.00 & a confirmation letter, accusing me of owing $195,300.00. However, the Court didn’t rely on our Deed of Settlement Agreement in this suit. Then, what does the law rely on if the Deed of Settlement Agreement is rejected in Brunei?
I stated in my pleadings & substantiated it with a laboratory report issued by the Ministry of Health Brunei, that the plaintiffs forged my signature on 24 copies of Standard Chartered Bank transaction forms to transfer $352,456.68 from our joint name account to their personal account. However, the court made no mention of this key fact in the judgment. Can the court cove conceal the pleadings & the facts that were submitted by the party in the judgment in Brunei?
As stated in the judgment, the court admitted & regretted that the court is unable to provide the hearing audio recording as the court did not arrange the audio recorder & a transcriber for our hearing ( 1 week of hearing), as a result, the correction of the inaccurate hearing transcription (notes of proceeding) provided by the court is therefore impossible. Thus, I applied for a retrial, but I was forced by the court of appeal to proceed with the appeal. Isn’t the hearing audio recording & accurate hearing transcription (notes of proceedings) are significant/ important evidence when it comes to appeal in Brunei?
In the judgment, the court of appeal rejected all 2 major evidence the fraudulent payment voucher & the confirmation letter submitted by the plaintiffs as the plaintiffs failed to comply with the Court Order to surrender the original Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 to the Ministry of Health Brunei for forensic examination (the plaintiffs told the court that they had lost the original Payment Voucher of $195,300.00), the court also rejected the Deed of Settlement Agreement & evidence submitted by me. Nevertheless, the court deemed the $195,300.00 as a loan to me without specifying any reason/ ground in the judgment. Isn’t it the judge’s obligation to specify the reason/ ground of their decision when it comes to judgment? Can the judge make a decision without giving any reason/ ground for the judgment in Brunei?
One of my counterclaims that I clearly stated in my pleadings against the plaintiffs, is that the plaintiffs will surrender all business accounts that they hid from me, & pay the balance of my profits from 2006 onwards as clearly stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 6. However, the court made no mention of this specific counterclaim in the judgment. Does the court have the right to simply waive/ delete/ conceal the counterclaim that was submitted by the party in the judgment in Brunei?
I am the defendant in the news that was published by the Borneo Bulletin on 28^th Dec 2023. The most crucial sentence of the article stated that “Chief Justice Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong, sitting with Justice Michael Lunn and Sir Peter Gross, rejected Tan’s appeal, addressing issues regarding inaccurate notes of proceedings, reliance on the Deed of Settlement, credibility concerns, and the absence of forensic evidence for a payment voucher”. Apparently, this news was published a few months ago, but, the higher authority did not take any action to rectify the problems.
This is a business dispute between the 2 plaintiffs (my business partners) and me. The 2 plaintiffs, Foo & Lai had hidden the business accounts from me & refused to pay my profits of around a few hundred thousand since 2006 onwards, as a result, we had frequent quarrels, & our partnership turned sour. Sometime in December 2008, I again quarrelled with the plaintiffs over the profits they owned me, the plaintiffs didn’t have a choice but to pay my partial profit amounting to $195,300.00 subsequently, we entered into a Deed of Settlement Agreement in April 2009 prepared by our lawyer to resolve all our disputes & my resignation from the company. All agreed terms had been clearly stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement. Therefore, the court should rely on our Deed of Settlement Agreement in this suit.
In our Deed of Settlement Agreement, the partial payment of $195,300.00 was not mentioned it was a loan to me, on the contrary, the amount of $195,300.00 will be reinvested equally by 3 of us, which is $65,100 per person, to furnish the balance commitments/ outstanding bills of the company upon my resignation from the company, which is clearly stated in Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 4a, and the plaintiffs have to pay me the balance of the profits that they hid from me from 2006 onwards after the auditor finalizes the business account as clearly stated in Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 6. After we entered the Deed of Settlement Agreement, I complied with the term Clause 4a, I reinvested $20,000 from the part of the $65,100 & I asked the plaintiffs to surrender all business accounts to the auditor as agreed in Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 6, so that they could pay the balance of my profits. The plaintiffs then told me they had lost all business accounts, apparently, the plaintiffs do not want to surrender all the business accounts & pay me the balance of my profits. A few months later, the plaintiffs forged my signature on a fraudulent payment voucher of $195,300.00 & a confirmation letter, filed a proceeding against me & accused me of owing them $195,300.00
The plaintiffs’ case/ allegation is, they claimed that the $195,300.00 is a loan to me, and the $20,000.00 that I reinvested is a part payment of the loan, and thus I owe them $175,300.00. The plaintiffs submitted their 2 major evidence in this suit, a fraudulent payment voucher of $195,300.00 & a confirmation letter. I told the court that the plaintiffs forged my signature on the alleged payment voucher of $195,300.00 & the confirmation letter, subsequently, the Court Order was issued, ordering the plaintiffs to surrender the original Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 to the Ministry of Health Brunei for forensic examination, the plaintiffs then told the court that they had lost the original Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 & therefore failed to comply with the Court Order. Despite the court of appeal rejected the 2 major evidence the fraudulent payment voucher of $195,300.00 & the confirmation letter that the plaintiffs submitted, the court of appeal also found no evidence showed in the Deed of Settlement Agreement that the $195,300.00 was a loan to me, BUT, the court of appeal deemed the $195,300.00 to be a loan to me without giving any reason/ ground in the judgment.
My case to the court of appeal is,
1. As the trial judge, Judge Faisal didn’t arrange for an audio recording & a transcriber during our hearing (1 week of hearing), and he also provided an inaccurate hearing transcription (notes of proceeding) to us, as a result, the correction of the inaccurate hearing transcription ( notes of proceeding) is therefore impossible. This is clearly a BIG mistake made by the court. I told the court of appeal that only the hearing audio recording can prove lots of lies made by the plaintiffs & all the answers gave by both parties during the 1 week of hearing. Since the court is not able to provide the hearing audio recording, accurate hearing transcription & other grounds substantiated, I applied for a retrial. However, my application was rejected, & I was forced to proceed with the appeal by the court of appeal regardless of the absence of the important evidence the hearing audio recording & accurate hearing transcription.

The $195,300.00 was not a loan, & it was not stated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement. I told the court of appeal that the plaintiffs would have stated this in our Deed of Settlement Agreement if the $195,300.00 was a loan to me. In fact, the $195,300.00 was a partial payment paid to me, & the balance shall be paid to me after the plaintiffs surrenders all the business accounts to the auditor as stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 6. Moreover, if the fraudulent Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 that the plaintiffs submitted (their major evidence) was duly signed by me, the plaintiffs would not have told the court that they had lost the Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 when the Court Order ordered them to surrender the original Payment Voucher of $195,300.00 to forensic examination.
I substantiated with the laboratory report issued by the Ministry of Health Brunei that the plaintiffs forged my signature on the 24 copies of the Standard Chartered Bank transaction forms to transfer $352,456.68 from our joint name account to their personal accounts. I have filed this proceedings against the Standard Chartered Bank & the plaintiffs Foo & Lai, which the case HCCS 78 of 2012 is currently handling by the judge, Judge Soefri, & police case Ref. BKS/C116/2011 Is currently handling by Commercial Crime Investigation of Royal Brunei Police since 2011 ( it’s been 13 years). It is clearly submitted in my pleadings. However, the court simply waived & made no mention this specific critical point in the judgment. The court covered up/ concealed the facts in the judgment.

4. My counterclaim against the plaintiffs is, a payment of the dump truck, the plaintiffs failed to submit the evidence, whereas I submitted a solid evidence, the clearance letter & payment history issued by Baiduri Finance which was clearly stated that I fully paid for the said dump truck, and the said dump truck is clearly stated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 4d. However, the court rejected my evidence which was issued by Baiduri Finance & ignored the term stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 4d.
5. My other counterclaim is also, a Toyota Land Cruiser. It is clearly stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 5 that, the said Toyota Land Cruiser belongs to me, & thus the plaintiffs shall pay the proceeds to me after they sold the vehicle. But the court rejected & ignored the Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 5 & evidence.
6. My other counterclaim is, the plaintiffs will surrender all business accounts that they hid from me & pay the balance of my profits from 2006 onwards as clearly stipulated in our Deed of Settlement Agreement Clause 6. But the court simply waived & made no mention this specific counterclaim in the judgment.
I have written several letters to alert the court about all the legal points as mentioned above, BUT, I was ignored by the court.
Lastly, I do not know what would happen to me after the publication of this article, one thing is for sure, at least one man must have the courage to step out & tell the facts about flaws/ deficiencies in our judicial system in Brunei, make things change & improve, in order to prevent more victims suffering from the false judicial system & injustice. I am confident that our His Majesty, as a kind & fair Sultan, would investigate this case thoroughly & make rakyat feel safe again with the judicial system in Brunei.

2024.05.29 04:00 Odtoast Stomach issues taking over my life!

Hi. This is quite a long post so please bear with me. I could really use some help. I’m gonna put as many details as I can in here.
Background details on me: I, (24 F) live in the UK. I’m generally healthy but slightly on the overweight side (my weight has fluctuated for as long as I can remember but the switch from on your feet retail work to office work has affected my weight) Ive never had any serious health issues apart from a blood clot on my lung when I was seventeen. Despite only being 24 - I am a recovered alcoholic. Over a year. My most recent liver function test was fine. I’ve given up cigarettes for almost two years and occasionally vape as a replacement (I know it’s terrible - I am trying to stop). I do not take drugs and am over 3 years drug clean.
My family history: on my mums side three generations have had cervical cancer. On my dad’s side stomach cancer and pancreatic cancer runs rife. My dad himself has a stomach issue called colitis.
The issue: Around eight months ago I started having these ‘pain episodes’. Always at night, never a specific food triggered it. About once every two weeks. This pain was on my left side underneath my ribs and lasted around five hours a time. It was too much to sleep but I could concentrate on a TV show if I wanted too. I originally passed it off as acid reflux but as it persisted I decided to go to the doctors. They felt my tummy. Asked me some questions about my diet and further said it was acid reflux. I was reccomended a common antacid and sent on my way.
Afew more weeks pass by and this pain persists. I now notice with every time it’s getting worse. I think to myself ‘surely acid reflux does not get THIS bad’. The pain episodes start lasting for around 7 hours. Does not matter whether I’m sitting, standing, laying down. Anything. I also noticed alongside this I felt I had a lot of trapped wind or like I needed to use the toilet without the ability too.
I went back to the doctor. They were annoyed I was back again with this issue but they listened. They now decided it could be a bout of gastritis caused by H.pylori and ordered me to submit a stool sample and IF it came back positive I’d be given antibiotics but they told me to eat bland food. Not spicy and not fried in the meantime. Which I did. This test came back negative and I was not contacted about any next steps.
More time goes by. I stick to the bland foods. The pain gets worse. I begin to get a lot of swelling in my upper abdomen when it comes. These episodes begin happening every other day. The only thing that makes me feel better? Forcing myself to vomit. And trust me, I’m not proud of it. But I tried hot water bottles, cold compresses, every position possible, antacids, encorperating more movement in my everyday. What else could I do? Once I realised the vomiting made the pain go away - that’s what I would do as soon as I felt it. I needed to be able to sleep because I had work early. I couldn’t be up all night in pain.
One night. I have a specifically terrible episode and end up in A&E. this time the vomiting didn’t help and actually made it worse. I now notice a little hard lump on my upper left abdomen that is there constantly. A&E take my blood and the results come back that my liver function is ever so slightly elevated. They feel my tummy. Tell me it’s gastritis. Send me home. By that point the pain subsided and I was exhausted. I wasn’t going to fight it.
I wake up the next day and the first thing I do is get a doctors appointment. I ask for the same doctor as last time. I give her all my symptoms. She notes the fact that I’ve noticeably lost weight since the last appointment. She feels my tummy and decides to refer me for an abdominal ultrasound to check my pancreas, liver, gallbladder and stomach. She also ordered blood tests to check me for celiac disease (again negative) and my liver again (it had returned to normal)
I waited for two months to get a refferal letter. As I write this - the scan date is just shy of a month away.
During this time. The pain has increased to daily. I vomit almost daily because it makes the pain atleast bareable verses unable to talk, or breathe, horrific pain. I went to A&E twice over it, nothing was done. I went to urgent care. They prescribed me lanzoprazole 30mg (one a day before food) hyoscine butylbromide 10mg (2 tablets 4 times a day). It helps, occasionally. I also still can’t go to the toilet and when I can (maybe once a week) it’s a real struggle. The movements are light in color.
I am always pale. I am always tired. My blood pressure is lower than normal for me but still in normal ranges
Basically. Any ideas of what this is? Anyone with similar stories. Are my doctors doing enough? I’m not convinced it’s gastritis or acid reflux. I’m doing everything I can. But this is getting pretty hard to live with.

Schengen Country: The Netherlands Applied from: VFS New York City, USA Nationality: Indian Visa Result: Received a 1-Year Short-Stay Mulitiple Entry Visa Bio: 26 M (Single/Unmarried)
Hi All, I thought I should share my experience and profile as it might be helpful for people applying to The Netherlands in USA.
Some more background (For OPT/STEM OPT Students): I am an Indian National on F1 Visa, and I am currently under OPT working for an employer in NYC, with a pending STEM OPT Application. My current OPT work auth expires in the first week of July and my travel date is from 17th July - 28th July. While submitting the application my STEM Work Auth was not approved and was pending.
Planned Trips: I have two trips planned this year. The first being the Tomorrowland Music festival, where I would visit Belgium and The Netherlands from 17th July - 28th July as mentioned above. Second trip would be in December to Norway for approx a week.
Main Destination: After going through this sub, I figured that I should show Netherlands as my main destination as they are the only country that has been handing out 1-year multi entry visa. This would cover both my trips and I would not need to apply again for my second trip. I even called the consulate and told them about both my trip and they said that they would consider to provide me 1-year visa as long as I have my second trip listed on my cover letter.
Application Documents: I prepared all the documets that were listed on the VFS Website.

The Application form was filled on the Netherlands website and it generated the complete application form.
Passport: I took photocopy of all pages of my current passport, even though it is completely empty (I got it renewed last month). Apart from that I took photocopy of all Visas and entry exit stamps, on all of my previously expired passports (I have 3 expired passports)
I took my I-20 and F1 Visa as evidence of legal status. Here I did not attach my EAD Card as it was expiring before my travel date. I did not want them to think that I am going to EU because my current work auth is expiring. They might not be aware of the STEM OPT extension rules, so I did not want them to get confused and took a little risk here, by not providing the EAD at all. It paid off!!
I took photographs as per schengen requirements, but the VFS did take those. In fact, they clicked a picture there itself while taking my finger-print and used it for the visa (It was free and its mandatory).
Proof of Travel: This is where things get interesting. Even though my plan is from 17-28, I provided an itinerary for 17-31st July. I booked fully refundable flight tickets, hotel tickets, train tickets (to and from belgium). A very very detailed itinerary (as in what I am doing each day to the last detail). I even booked all my flights, hotels, activities for my Trip to Norway along with a detailed itinerary for the same. I did my best to make sure that they know that i am going only for tourism and I have put in the extra extra extra effort as to do my research and plan my itinerary for both trips.
Finance: I showed my bank account statement for last four months. I also, showed my robinhood investments, Fidelity investments and my 401k investment. (As far as I know they only care about liquid cash in your account, but I still wanted to show my commitment to USA by showing my investments especially 401k)
Employer: I took a letter from my employer confirming my employement and travel dates. I also attached paystubs for last three months.
Health Insurance: AXA Travel Insurance (Cost be approx 40 euros)

Cover Letter: This is a very very crucial part of my application. I listed my travel plans, my previous travel history (I have been to 6 countries), intention of coming back and strong finances. The consulate told me to mention both trips in the cover letter and I did that. kept everything in under a page.
Yes I know I have showed way more than what is needed and required. its usually very easy to get a visa from USA, but here are the two reason why I went the extra mile:

I wanted a 1-year mult entry visa, so I wanted to show both my trips to the last detail. Flights, hotel, trains, internal flights. Each and every things was booked and fully refundable. This showcased my genuine intent for turism and showed me as someone who is less likly to overstay. I just wanted to avoid going through the hassel of applying for a seperate visa for Norway.
My work auth was expiring in the first week of July, with a pending application with USCIS to extend my employemnt till 2026. I did not want them to think that I am going to overstay and provided as many details and finances as I could to not get flagged.

VFS Process and Timeline: VFS is a fucking horrible. Just wanted to put it out here. Finding a slot was a little messed up. The VFS website goes down almost every eveing and you don't see any slots at all, even though they have slots available. I booked a slot for May 10th in the last week of April. They had plenty of slots, so finding one based on your preference was not an issue.

May 10th: Visa Appointment at 8:30 AM. I was let in at 9:30 AM. Fucking joke of an org. They were just letting France and UK people in, even tough most of them had a later appontment. FYI: All schengen visa are processed at the same place. They dont have seperate offices for each consulate. Its a single office that sends application to each consulate based on where you are applying. I was also forced to use their courrier service to get my passport delivered, even though I was told on phone that I could pick up my passport! At the center I was told that "Especially for Netherlands, we do not allow passport pickup"
May 10th: In the evening I got this email "Your application has been submitted to the Embassy and is currently under process.Please continue to track the status online for further updates."
Radio silence after that.
Also to those who are curious, The consulate/embassy (I am not sure who processes the visa), send the passport to VFS and then they send it to you. It doesn't come directly from the Consulate/Embassy. (I got to know this when I called VFS about my application status).
May 27th: I received a message from FedEx, stating that a package would be delivered to me on May 28th, along with the tracking details. Based on shipment date and location, it was obviously my passport coming from VFS. The amazing part is that, there was no email/SMS update from VFS that my application was processed. Infact even after getting my passport their website tracking shows, application under process at embassy.
May 28th: Received my passport with a stamped 1-year multiple entry Schengen Visa from the Netherlands.

Lawyers prepared a 20 page package ahead of time with offer letter, recommendation, company information, and a copy of my diploma and transcript. I also brought my passport, original diploma, and printed out "official" transcript from mycreds.ca.
Had no appointment (phoned ahead and was told they do not do appointments). I showed up at 2:30pm and waited in line for 20 minutes as there were only 1-2 agents working the front and ~10 people in various lines.
I was immediately handed a piece of paper and asked to list out my job duties. I thought it was paperwork so suggested I merely copy from the package but he sternly said, "you should know what you are going to be doing."
I filled out a few sentences of how I would describe the work; basic bullet points from a job posting. Tried to ask how in detail I should go but he offered no help.
He then asked me to explain what the company does and what I will be doing on the job. I did my best explaining blockchain, databases, and web APIs. He said nothing but checked some boxes on a checklist.
After sitting for awhile he called me up to ask where I would be working and living - the head office is in New York but I will be living in California. He asked for their office address in California but I said I'm not sure they have one. He laughed a bit saying, "you're going to California but you don't know where you're going to live or work."
After 20 minutes of standing in silence he took me over to pay and I saw the "approved" stamp. Another 20 minutes of waiting for him to finish on his computer and I was on my way.

I posted this on legaladvice with no luck as everyone just downvotes everything there with no explanations. I was recently diagnosed with cancer and have some underlying autoimmune disorders too like SLE, MS, NSLE etc. and was basically placed between a rock and a hard place when I pretty much became disabled at f28. Has anyone been through something like this?
This really just makes me feel like another cog in the machine and only cements my beliefs that these giant corporations don’t give a shit about their employees and all the stuff they tout as their mission statement about empathy and all that is bullshit.

“Is it legal for your employer to threaten termination for lack of FMLA papers when you have a disability?
Im just wondering if I messed up here because people keep telling me I could have had a case had things gone differently.
I went on a LOA from Nov-Dec that was approved signed by my psychiatrist at the time because I was going through a lot at home, struggling with my mental health and overall health as I have some underlying autoimmune disorders like SLE, MS or NSLE.
My psychiatrist usually filled out my fmla and accommodations paperwork but for me to get my other accommodations & LOA for my health conditions I needed my rheumatologist to fill out the forms. I was advised by my rheumatologists office that it was $300 out of pocket for each set of forms that needed to be filled out so I was always hesitant about doing so and kept pushing it back because I didn’t have the money. Insurance wasn’t an option for this either.
I was going to go back to work after the new year started so I had “ended” my leave at the end of December. Come new years and I got really sick and started to flare again but more intensely. I had to apply for a new FMLA LOA starting on January and at this point needed my rheumatologist to fill it out but I had no income because I was on a limited income to pay for the forms from the disability insurance.
I was trying to save money for the forms or even borrow money but then I get a surprise $400 bill from the lab that I go to for bloodwork which refused to do any tests unless I paid the full amount and I couldn’t just show up to my rheumatologist appointment without doing my labs.
At this point I tried contacting my employer to explain my situation because it was considered an “unapproved LOA”. The manager I had spoken to really wasn’t empathetic and didn’t care that I was becoming disabled because of how bad my flairs got, they just wanted me back at work and told me that if I didn’t get the forms I’d be fired.
Two days later I ended up at the emergency room and was at the point where I was to fatigued, weak and disoriented to walk and was in constant agony from abdominal pain, constant bloating, lack of appetite but gaining weight. I was miserable. The ER found what was making me sick (a 14cm ovarian tumor) but they misdiagnosed me as having a “dermis cyst from birth” despite giving them documented evidence that contradicted that diagnosis. Had I been diagnosed correctly, admitted and treated I could have had my disability forms filled out by a doctor.
I knew the diagnosis was incorrect and deep down I knew I had cancer so the next day I made an appointment with any gynecologist I could for an ultrasound to confirm if it was cancer. I was able to find a doctor to take a last minute appointment and he did confirm that it had a lot of malignant qualities.
I asked him if he could help me with my LOA forms as well because I was reaching the deadline and even tho I was pretty much disabled, he refused to put me on LOA because “cancer can’t cause systemic symptoms”. I even explained to him my situation and how I thought the cancer was exasperating my underlying autoimmune disorder and he refused saying he wasn’t going to put me on leave until I had surgery which wouldn’t be for another month or two and I would be fired by then so I’d lose my coverage.
I feel like I’m const discriminated by doctors because I’m young and “seemingly healthy” and it’s frustrating that these doctors just think I’m trying to get free government money when I’m actually disabled and need this.
After that appointment I had turned in a resignation letter stating that I was resigning for health reasons. I thought it was the right thing to do as I really liked working for that company and wanted a chance to work there again in the future but maybe at a different location. I’ve told friends this story and everyone tells me I should have let them fire me because they’d be firing me for a disability and it would be discrimination. (They actually have a history of doing this to employees with disabilities apparently and I’m just now starting to find out.) I was scared of getting fired and felt cornered.
I’ve lost everything that I worked so hard for because of cancer and the autoimmune stuff going on. I got paid well, had good benefit, 401k match and worked for one of the biggest companies in the world, I was really proud to work there and loved my job up until this all happened to me. Multiple managers knew that I had multiple health conditions going on too but I’m not sure if that was documented or anything or how I could prove I was facing discrimination. There was always a lot of “silent discrimination” that I was kind of oblivious to in the past but only now starting to realize.
Should I have let them fire me? Could this be a case or did I mess up in resigning?
Right before I went on leave I was trying to get the disability accommodations established so I have emails trying to set it up but then I had to go on leave suddenly due to my niece going missing and dealing with a schizophrenia psychosis and my own mental/personal health. I feel so shit out of luck and I’m angry at the multiple systems that failed me when I really needed it most.
Any advice or comments are helpful. I don’t know where to start. Sorry if I don’t make sense or if you need clarification on something, my brain is weird on chemo and from the neuropathy. “
TLDR: Struggled to get FMLA paperwork signed and approved by three different doctors despite being physically disabled and sick. Forced to resign as I was scared to get fired. Lost everything. Turns out I had ovarian cancer and some underlying autoimmune conditions @ 28. Dealt with a lot of silent discrimination etc. very mad and hate corporate america and the health care system.

So I've already been declared L.C.W.R.A, and am currently being assessed for adult disability payments. I was knocked back in January as they were unable to verify my identity and I was asked to reapply. I received a letter a few weeks after reapplying saying they still couldn't verify my identity, and they set up a face to face appointment in my home so I could provide my birth certificate and proof of address. My question is, once my identity is verified, does this situation seem like I'm going to be successful with my claim? If I was going to be knocked back due to not meeting the criteria health wise, I wouldn't be asked to reapply? Or if I didn't meet the criteria surely they wouldn't waste time and resources to verify my identity in the first place?

Hooves drummed on the hard-packed dirt of the road.
The rider’s cloak streamed back in the wind of his running, and dust rose in his wake.
After months of searching, riding town to town, dawn to dusk, Finn finally had a lead on the wayward elf. The letter rested in his satchel, slung diagonally from shoulder to waist under his travel cloak. It was wrapped in oilcloth and sealed with silver wax bearing the intricate sigil of House Fyndrael. The letter was urgent, make haste, Lord Brynwell had said. And Finn had rode like a madman ever since.
People flashed past in both directions, the occasional ox-drawn cart or a courier on horseback kicking up dust in their haste. Some cursed his breakneck speed, turning to shake fists. Finn just grinned and spurred his horse faster. The road curved ahead through a thicket of trees and wound off into the countryside like a dusty ribbon dotted intermittently with the dark shapes of carts, wagons, and riders.
In the distance, the faint, cloudy silhouette of Suncrest Hold beckoned him. Almost there. A few more hours, he would put the letter in the elf’s hand and be on his way. A smile split his dusty face, and he leaned low over Dett’s neck, urging the horse on, eager to be quit of this mission and on his way back to Kaelos and all the comforts the sprawling mountain city had to offer. Wine and dancing, dicing and women, taverns and inns and brothels enough to drown a man in pleasures, that’s what waited in Kaelos. But first, he had to deliver the letter.
“Alright, Dett, show us your heart,” Finn put his face against the horse’s neck and the wind snagged his hood away, streaming his long honey-kissed hair out behind. “A few more miles, and you can rest. All the oats and water you can stomach.”
Trees flashed past. Dogs barked sharp challenges, then fell away. Dett thought this was a race, strained to go faster, legs and neck stretched out, mane and tail whipping in the wind. A group of caravaners cursed him as he thundered past. Finn laughed, called back his apologies and raced on, laying about with his reins.
Hours passed, the road transitioned from hard-packed dirt to the dark gray of flagstones and traffic deepened. Suncrest Hold rose before him in all its gray glory; slate-roofed towers and spires reached for the sky behind the silver-gray teeth of battlements. People, carts, farmers with wagons, merchants, and caravans crowded the road. Finn slowed Dett to a trot, skillfully weaving through the crowd with the desperate urgency only a man months gone from home could muster. He was ready to see this mission done.
He passed under an arched portcullis and came abreast of the guard house on the other side.
Soldiers in steel ring mail worn under red tabards slashed with black and embroidered with the royal coat of arms waved him through when they saw the silver glint of a courier’s badge pinned on his leather tunic.
“Make way,” they growled at the crowd, shouldering into the people and shoving them aside so Finn could pass. “Make way for a courier. Move it, you country kelps!”
People grumbled and cast dark looks Finn’s way, but they moved. None wanted to be the one who delayed a royal courier.
A figure in polished platemail worn under her tabard, and the transverse crested helm of an officer, stepped out of the guard house. Finn brought Dett to a halt.
The officer approached.
“May the sun favor your roads,” she greeted. Finn noticed the four golden knots of a captain embroidered on her tabard’s left breast. “May I offer the courier an escort?”
Finn’s mind went blank. This lady wasn’t just pretty for a guardswoman; she was unbelievably striking by any standard across the land. Breathtaking. He wanted to get off his horse and propose marriage on the spot. Heat began to rise in his cheeks, and he covered it by bowing in his saddle and giving his cloak a little flourish. A thick layer of dust broke free and danced around him.
“Gracious of you, my lady,” he said, cuffing his brow. “I am looking for an elf named Aberiel. I was told I could find him here in Suncrest Hold. Heard of him?”
“Captain Aurelume,” she said, looking off down the main road at all the buildings and structures crowding up to the walks. “Not My Lady. I'm not noble blood. Aberiel, you say?”
Finn gave a nod and patted Dett’s neck to calm the restless horse.
“Can you describe this man?”
Finn dug into his saddle and drew out a piece of parchment enchanted with the elf’s likeness. He handed it to the captain. She studied the portrait.
One of the other guards came up and peered over her shoulder, his face crisscrossed with old scars inside his open-faced helmet. “Damn, looks like the one what got back-knifed over dice a few nights gone. Remember? Almost died and the Count was all in a fury. Had us knocking down doors and cracking heads for three nights til we got the ones what did it. Darkhand gang, it was.”
Captain Aurelume studied the picture, her lips pursed. Her eyes were cerulean jewels dancing with sparks of sunlight.
She drummed a gauntleted finger on her sword hilt, and the sun glinted off her pauldrons. “Yes,” she said after several moments. “I remember him. Young and reckless, fair hand with the ladies, I’m told.” She glanced at her guard. “Which I suspect is the true reason for the knife in the back. Men have killed for far less.”
The guard shrugged, and his ringmail made soft clinking sounds. “Only said what I was told, Captain. Dice, they said it was.”
The captain returned her attention to Finn.
She returned the picture. “Try the Medi toward the center of the city. Beside the Basilica.” She nodded at the guard beside her. “Harker will show you the way. Good luck.” She turned and disappeared back into the guardhouse.
Harker came up beside Finn. “Alright then,” he grumbled, obviously irritated with having to play babysitter. “This way.”
Finn followed him down long streets that turned and twisted through the city. Every few seconds, he would holler for the crowd to give way to a courier. After a time, they came to a sprawling structure of soaring turrets, tiled roofs, tall arches, and windows filled with ornate traceries and colorful glass. A central dome gleamed silver in the sun.
“The Medi,” he said, and without so much as a by your leave, turned sharply on his heel and waded back into the crowd.
Finn eased Dett over to a tie post on the side of the road and swung out of the saddle, his legs filled with a deep ache from months on the road. He took a moment to stretch and stamp his feet before climbing the marble steps to the fluted columns flanking a set of tall doors rounded at the top and standing open to the public.
Inside, it was dark and subdued; carpet in blue and silver with fancy tassels flowed down the corridors. Tapestries hung the walls and the air smelled of herbs and incense. After getting directions from one of the healers, he stood at the entrance to a private room.
The door stood open, and a gentle breeze whispered through tall, arched windows. The room was small, modestly appointed with bookshelves on the walls and a small brazier across from a four-post bed on which lounged a figure wrapped around the midsection with clean bandages.
Finn knocked on the door frame and stepped inside. The elf on the bed stirred from his reading and set the book aside, fastening his eyes on the visitor. “Who are you?”
Finn approached the bed and gave a slight bow. “Finnton, my lord,” he said, digging into his satchel. “You are Aberiel of House Fyndrael?”
The elf’s eyes hardened with suspicion. His hand slipped under the sheet covering him to the waist. “Who sent you? What is this?”
“I was dispatched from Kaelos five months ago, my lord,” Finn produced the letter. The elf’s eyes locked on the silver seal, and the coiled readiness in his posture melted away. “That is my house seal. Give it to me.” The elf snatched the letter from Finn’s hand, gave the seal a cursory inspection, and broke it off with his thumbnail. His eyes moved over the words. He stopped at one point, drew in a deep, ragged breath, and glanced at the ceiling before continuing.
A single tear broke free from one of Aberiel Fyndrael’s lavender eyes.
The hand holding the letter slowly sank into his lap. Another tear streaked his cheek. Redness gathered in his eyes, across his face. “They have found her,” he said. His voice was a quavering whisper. “She…” he broke off with a sob. “She…I can’t believe it…she…”
Whatever the elf was going to say, Finn would never know. The words were drowned in anguished cries.
Finn turned to go, but thought he caught a glimpse of a smile breaking through the elf’s tears. Was Aberiel smiling? Finn couldn’t tell and it would be rude to stay. Whether tears of sorrow or joy, he would never know. Nor did he care.
“Good day, my lord.”
He left the elf lordling to his letter and his tears and silently wished him all the best. It was time to see to Dett and lodging for the night. A hot bath to wash away the dust of the road and a hearty meal to fill his belly, that was what he required. Then sleep. Dawn came early this time of year and he wanted to be on the road with the first rays of sunlight.
He stepped out of the Medi and took Dett’s reins in his hand. Music drifted to his ear from a lively tavern down the street. The sounds of raucous laughter and a dozen conversations sang in the air.
A grin crept onto his face.
A bath, a meal and maybe just one game of dice before he found his bed. He turned toward the tavern.
A man had needs.

2024.05.29 02:28 These-Pick-968 Revisiting "Robin"

I’m a huge fan of the song Robin, and have enjoyed reading all of the various interpretations of this song. The song feels like such a mix of emotions to me! At first listen it sounds like a sweet song, almost a lullaby. But then the layers of meaning and nuance start filtering in. Then one realizes that “bloodthirsty” feels a bit…off. Every time I listen to it I get a different mix of feelings: hopeful, wistful, nostalgic, happy, sad, resentment, innocence, ominous. Sometimes all in the same listen.
Some of the various interpretations of possible meaning I’ve explored thru this song (as have many others here and on social media):
• Aaron Dessner’s son- a song about watching a child grow up and wanting to protect their innocence from the realities of the world
• Robin Williams- his child-like wonder but also his struggles with mental illness/dementia
• Robin Hood (I never really considered this angle)
• The Secret Garden- the robin shows Mary the key and door to the secret garden
• Robin Goodfellow/Puck- a fairy character who is known for being mischievous (also references back to Dead Poet's Society)
• Emily Dickinson poem “The Child’s Faith is New”- about how children eventually learn to see people for who they are rather than infallible beings (this also leads to a Dear Brutus and The Fault in Our Stars interpretation, and lamenting the alternative outcomes for our lives)
• The character Tiger Lilly in Peter Pan
• Cats (of course)
• Taylor talking to her younger self (calling herself a “tiger”) about the pitfalls of fame and hiding from her true (queer) self
• Taylor talking to her fans about “putting on an act” for them to keep them entertained even though she’s been putting her true (queer) self on hold
• Examining the dandelions in the lyrics video. Dandelions often represent childhood wonder, and sending “wishes off into to the world.” On the flip side they are also seen by many as weeds that are hard to control.
One interpretation of Robin that I almost immediately dismissed was Christopher Robin from Winnie the Pooh. It just seemed too...obvious. And I couldn’t make any connections with the story (besides “Tigger = Tiger”). But…
Perhaps it’s not the story of Winnie the Pooh itself that resonates with the song, but the real life story of Christopher Milne, the “real life Christopher Robin,” son of A.A. (Alan) Milne who authored the book. I don’t know if this story is one that Taylor would have heard of or seen, but I feel like there are some parallels to this story that might reflect aspects of Taylor’s life.
Christopher Milne outlines his experience in two autobiographies: The Enchanted Places and The Path Through the Trees. His story was captured in a book by Ann Thwaite, Goodbye Christopher Robin: A.A. Milne and the Making of Winnie-the-Pooh.

“Goodbye Christopher Robin is a story of celebrity, a story of both the joys and pains of success and, ultimately, the story of how one man created a series of enchanting tales that brought hope and comfort to an England ravaged by the First World War.”
It was also made into a movie in 2017. I know movies can embellish biographical truth. But the premise of the story explores how the father, Alan, experienced trauma (likely PTSD) after returning from World War I, and despair over the toll and meaning of the war. It shows marital struggles with his wife, pressures from his publisher to write a new book, and his desire to leave London for a more quiet life. The end result is him connecting with his son and writing the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh book, but the heart of the movie examines the toll at which this occurred from the perspective of both father and son.

The birth of A.A. Milne’s son is announced as his “latest Milne production,” similar to Taylor’s birth announcement ad.
His name is Christopher Robin Milne but his parents call him “Billy Moon” (Billy couldn't pronounce his last name "Milne").
A.A. Milne’s wife, Daphne, wanted a girl, and had picked out a girl’s name (Rosemary) and dresses. She later shares that this is because she is afraid of having a son who might get sent off to war (which does happen).
Due to Alan’s war flashbacks and desire for a quieter life to focus on his writing, they move to a cottage in the country. They hire a nanny, Olive, to watch over Billy. The wife, Daphne, is disenchanted with the country and her husband’s lack of producing any new work and returns to London, bringing Billy and the nanny with her. They visit the zoo, and Billy sees a black bear. He compares the bear to his beloved stuffed teddy bear, Edward. He states how big and fierce the black bear seems and worries Edward will “grow up” to be the same. His mom says not to worry, that Edward will “stay little forever, like my boy.”
Billy returns to the country with the nanny, while the wife stays in London.

The nanny then has to leave to take care of her ailing mother, leaving Alan alone to take care of Billy. He struggles at first but finally bonds with his son after they start taking walks in the woods and playing make believe with Billy’s stuffed animals. Alan gets inspiration for his new book, using the stuffed animals and Billy (using his real name “Christopher Robin”) as characters in the book.

The middle of the story unfolds highlighting the inspiration for writing the book (Alan collaborating with his friend E.H. Shepard for illustrations), based on dad’s playtime and experiences with Billy. It is realized that this story might be popular and “healing” for a public who is disenchanted with the aftermath of the war. A scene shows Billy on a makeshift “float” with balloons as his dad and Shepard attempt to get him up into a tree so Shepard can draw a picture of “Christopher Robin knocking on owl’s door.” There’s also a scene where Alan and E.H. Shepard look over at an innocent Christopher Robin carrying his teddy bear and realize the magic they’re about to capture in the book (but it’s also an ominous scene as Billy looks so innocent in this moment, unaware of what's about to be unleashed upon him).

Dad tells Billy he’s writing a book about their adventures and his animals, and “I’m putting you in it too.” Billy says he isn’t sure what to think about that. “They’ll think I’m not real.” Dad and son debate about his name for the book. Dad says “We’ll call you Christopher Robin then because it’s your real name but it’s not who you really are” (since he goes by Billy Moon).
The book is published and is an immediate success.
However, it becomes clear that “Christopher Robin the boy” is the star of the book. Reporters and the public start to seek him out, overshadowing the author himself (dad, Alan). Reporters start showing up in the woods as the boy is playing, with the nanny providing a protective role. Billy starts getting inundated with piles of fan mail. The dad starts to show resentment while the mother seems thrilled with the “success.” Billy starts to show some confusion over his new found fame. In one scene, he yells out “But I’m not really Christopher Robin, I’m Billy Moon.” A flurry of media chaos unfolds as the book becomes popular:

One reporter, talking to dad, states, “I can’t believe I’m talking to the father of the real Christopher Robin.”
After royal guards pay a visit to Billy for his birthday, later that evening he is on the phone with his dad, who is in London. Billy shares a conversation with his dad, who wishes him happy birthday. At the end of the call, it’s made apparent that his dad was in a studio and the call was played live on the radio. An ad plays- highlighting the commercialization of it all. Billy questions his Nanny about what just happened. The nanny takes Billy out in the night to play, and they look at the moon. She says “I think Little Billy Moon better get acquainted with Big Billy Moon himself.” They playfully drop sticks off a bridge into the water and she says “A person should do the things a person loves, with the people a person loves. Because you never know what happens next.”
Billy and his parents go to a London toy store where Billy is to promote a prize to “win tea with the real Christopher Robin.” Billy resists participating in this, but his dad says “You’re the luckiest boy in the world, you know the real Winnie the Pooh.” Billy questions to his mom, “Are you my manager then?” His mom states, “What gave you such a notion, I’m your mother.”
Billy shows signs of starting to question what is even real. He starts to show signs of protecting himself, telling fans that this isn’t his “real” life and that the names of himself and his animals are made up and that he’ll never tell fans their “real names.” At one point he tells his nanny “Are people going to look at us…like they look at Winnie the Bear in the zoo?”

He is later looking at a map and asks his nanny "Is there anywhere in the world they don't know about Winnie the Pooh? I want to go there."
The nanny shares her concerns with his parents about Billy “being used as a show pony, he has to be allowed to grow up, to know that someone cares about him.”
The nanny is shown putting Billy to bed. She tells him a bedtime story about a “nanny that loves him.” “Be happy, Billy Moon.” “Keep your memories and I’ll keep mine”, “And that way we’ll always be together.”
The nanny quits/leaves and hands dad Billy’s schedule of busy appointments for the week. Billy wakes up distraught that his nanny is gone.
Dad Alan starts to question Billy’s schedule to his wife. “He can’t do all this. He’s a little boy. How have we let this happen?” “He should be running around in the woods.” Wife insists that Billy can do it. “He can [do it]. He’s rather good at it apparently.”
At a visit to the zoo for PR with the black bear, dad starts to push back at the role his son has been put in. He leaves the photoshoot, and he and Billy get ice cream, and are interrupted by fans as they’re eating.

That night, dad tells Billy he’s decided he’s not going to write any more books about Billy’s stuffed animals or Christopher Robin. Billy asks “Does this mean Winnie the Pooh will just be ours again?” Dad states, “Winnie the Pooh is out in the world now and we can’t take him out of it.” But he tells Billy “you’ll never have to dress up again as Christopher Robin…and the day will come when everyone will forget about Winnie the Pooh.”
Billy is older now and goes to boarding school, where he’s bullied for his name as Christopher Robin. He starts going by the name “Christopher Milne.” Later, his classmates are shown going off to war. Billy is shown walking with his father in the woods. Billy tells his dad he wants to go to war (but has failed the medical exam).
“I want the chance to be private Milne. 607841 or whatever. Anonymous, a real person.”
Dad resists, but Billy says his dad has the clout to help get him in, and asks for his help, telling his dad that “I helped you write that book, now help me.”
The next scene show Billy in uniform ready to leave. As he goes to say goodbye to his mom, she walks away without saying goodbye.
Dad sees Billy off at the train station. While they’re waiting for the train, Billy feels there is something he has to tell his dad: “That bear made my life misery.”
“We played in the woods and then you wrote that book and it all stopped. As of it had all been a piece of research.” Billy and dad argue about the book. Dad says “You asked me to write a book for you.” The son says he asked for a “book for me, not about me.” Billy gets on the train and dad sees a flashback of him as a child.
In the next scene a letter comes that Billy is “missing and presumed dead.” The wife blames Alan. He has flashbacks about the last conversation with his son at the train station:
“About the money. The money we earned from ‘that bear.’ There’s mountains of it. It’s a fortune. You helped make it. It was just as much your doing as mine.” Billy declines the money, “I was just playing. With my father. If I take the money for it then I have to be Christopher Robin and I’m not Christopher Robin.”

Later that night the dad sees his Billy come home and that he hasn’t died after all. He welcomes him home and calls him “Billy Moon.”
In the final scene, Billy and his dad revisit the woods and look over the landscape and the 100 Acre woods. Billy says “There it all is as if nothing had ever happened, just as I left it.”
Dad: “When I came back [from the war], everything seemed wrong.”
Billy shares with his dad what the Winne-the-Pooh story means to people, as he saw when he was off to war. He mentions a piece of the Winnie the Pooh song that he heard a fellow solider sing.
“Everyone on earth knows that song. But I knew it first. It was mine before it was anyone else’s.”
Dad wistfully says “Then I gave it all away.” Billy shares how much the story brought happiness to people when they needed it most. Dad states, “I’m sorry you paid the price for it.”
Billy: “You reminded people what happiness was…what childhood could be when everything else was broken.”

Dad: “But your own childhood…”
Billy interrupts: “[my own childhood]…Was wonderful. It was growing up that was hard.”
Dad: “Who would have guessed that bear would swallow us up?”
Dad looks over and sees a flashback of his son as the young Christopher Robin. They walk home hand in hand. The end.
This story really drives home the ideas of childhood innocence lost to fame, the dichotomy between the “real” and the “famous” self, and the dynamics within a family of navigating the caveats of celebrity. The part that really connected me to Taylor’s story was Billy asking his nanny if they’d be “viewed like the bear at the zoo.” Again, I don't know Taylor's life or relationship with her parents. I have no idea if there’s any inspiration here for the song *Robin.* But this story makes me appreciate Taylor’s story (that we know of from our limited public perspective) and some of the difficulties she must have faced as a young person having grown up in fame for most of her life. She clearly loves songwriting and appears(?) to thrive in and seek the spotlight. And her music has brought so much joy and happiness to fans. But at what cost? Maybe The Manuscript perhaps alludes to this: maybe she sacrificed her early years and “true” (queer) self for that success (the "agony" she references), but also realizes the “gift” that her music has bestowed upon the world. At the end of the movie, Billy seems grateful for the "gift" of happiness and joy that his father's book has given the world, despite the hardships that it meant for them both.
I also appreciate when Billy's father says "Winnie the Pooh is out in the world now and we can't take him out of it" after he tells Billy he's not going to write any more stories. Much like Taylor's brand, like a dandelion, has been released into the wild.

One of the things I love about Robin is the various interpretations it lends itself to. I’d love to someday learn from Taylor herself what her own meaning and inspiration for the song were. But in the meantime I’ll keep exploring it because I think it’s a gem- sweet and innocent at first listen, but so layered and meaningful as one listens to it from different perspectives.
What interpretation do you have of it? Has that changed?

I am F17, and a local coffee shop to my town just opened up near me. I spoke to the owner today and she told me to fill out their online application, but I need help because I have never worked a job before and don't have any experience being a barista (I think she said that was ok). I'm not sure what to put on my cover letteresume or how to format it so it will stand out, so I can land the job. Some experience I do have is volunteering at hospitals, in which I volunteered at a front desk dealing with all kinds of different people and kind of directing them where to go, giving directions and help in general with different errands around the hospital. I would appreciate help on my resume and cover letter.

2024.05.29 01:20 SignificantPut7483 NYC Unemployment Help Needed BAD. How can I fight this in the right way?

Worked as a host since August 8, 2022, left 12/31/23 because my mom had an heartache mid November and I was the immediate & only caregiver. I was calling out a lot in November up until the day I left that job. It was appointments back to back and on days she didn't have appointments, I was with her at home to help her with her meds and make sure she was okay etc. We made a plan that same weekend of me quitting where we'd have another family member help out since I'm the one who pays all the bills. So, I immediately got another job by Jan 3rd. That lasted all the way until beginning Feb. before I got let go due to lack of work. (the owner just didn't like me) So l filed for unemployment. Got approved instantly. I was approved benefits from Feb-April. Mid April I got a letter from unemployment asking about my hosting job and that records show I quit. I submitted the paper work explaining the situation with my mom and my mom was priority basically. Letter returned saying l've been falsely claiming unemployment saying l'm available for work when I am indeed not resulting me into playing over $4k with fees. How can I fight this? How am I "unwilling to work" if I made a plan with my mom and that allowed me to return back to work. & then got let go from A DIFFERENT JOB. Why are they spinning this on making it seem like it's fraud when this was a former job from my most recent?

Long story short, my accountant filed my 2022 tax return, sent over receipt that it was accepted by the IRS but apparently they have been trying to verify my identity and thus it is still in processing. However, I have not received any letters or correspondence from them. I have an appointment tomorrow at a TAC.
My question is that, will they be able to stamp my tax return as received? I’m bringing my unsigned transcript, as requested. The reps on the phone gave mixed answers.
If they can’t, how long do you think it will post to my account transcript once I undergo the identity verification?
I need it for a mortgage — I had submitted my paperwork that my accountant sent me (completed 1040 with addendums) but apparently the IRS is showing that I didn’t file because of this issue. If it’s any use, they owe me money so I’m not delinquent on taxes. Mortgage lender is asking for paperwork that shows it has been “accepted” but not that it has to be “-approved” (unclear on the difference here even though I tried to clarify with him).

Date [standardized human time]: August 17, 2137
In my hands I held the broken halves of what used to be the makeshift chair that Omo had sat me in. The Krakotl lay motionless on the floor, a large violet gash now visible on the back of his head.
There was now a small indentation in the wall, just a few feet away from Jack. The gun Omo had held tumbled to the ground during the scuffle. Smoke still trailed from its barrel, and my sensitive ears rang in the moments following its deafening boom.
The broken bits of chair slipped from my hands and clattered to the ground as I fell to the floor. Both hands rose to my mouth as my eyes watered and my ears fell flat against the back of my head. What have I done?
There was no chance I was going to just stand there and watch as Jack was executed, but the weight of what I just did was made no lighter by knowing I saved him.
This kid very well could have been any of my friends from back on Skalga if not for fate having other plans. Could I even pretend I was still an empathetic person after clubbing a child over the head?
They were right, weren’t they? I’ve been a monster this whole time. All it took was the perfect moment for me to snap.
“Tevri?”
The voice snapped me back to my senses as I turned and saw Jack looking back at me. Shit!
I scrambled over, kneeling down beside him. At first I reached out with a paw, but as he winced and hissed while shifting around, I pulled it back.
“A-are, you alright?” He asked.
“Wha—am I alright?” I bleated out. “You’re the one with a hole in you!”
His eyes broke from mine and went back down to his abdomen where crimson blood stained his clothes. Despite the circumstances, he offered a weak laugh. “Ah. Yeah. I am, aren’t I?”
“W-we need to call for medical assistance!”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I already called the first responders. They should be here soon. You still didn’t answer my question though. Are you alright?”
“I…”
Was I? Being knocked unconscious, then being drugged and dragged through the woods to a shack and being held hostage by a former exterminator probably doesn’t constitute “being okay.”
“I don’t know.”
“Well, do you think you’re alright enough to tie up that kid’s hands behind his back? You got him pretty good but I’d rather not take chances.”
I looked over to where Omo lay and saw that he was still motionless. “O-okay, but you may need to guide me.”
And guide me he did as I took the binds that once held me and wrapped them around the Krakotl’s arms, pinning them behind his back. I followed Jack’s advice, who did all that he could considering his current state. I took advantage of this moment to distract myself from my thoughts by being busy with my paws, but a distraction only lasts so long, and after a few minutes Omo was properly tied up.
I’d occasionally glance towards Jack as he offered instructions, watching as his skin grew more and more pale with every passing moment. Even with the distraction of tying up Omo’s hands, the guilt of knowing there was nothing I could do to help tugged at my heart.
After finishing up, I gingerly picked up the firearm and knife that had fallen aside and brought them to him, handing both over. Jack pressed a button on the gun’s side and something slid out of the weapon. He tossed this aside before pulling back the sliding top of it and pulling out a bullet that he also tossed into the dirt. Satisfied, he lay the weapon down beside him.
“There,” he said with a sigh.
“S-so what now?”
“We wait I guess,” he said, looking at me. He tried to slide closer, but as he did, he groaned and pressed a hand to his side, closing his eyes.
I let out a quiet whine and my ears fell back against my head, my tail wrapping itself around his leg. “I-it’s going to be alright. I promise.”
Despite the obvious pain that wracked his body, a smile touched the corners of his mouth. “You shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep.”
“D-don’t talk like that. Y-you’re going to be fine.”
“I think we’re well past that point.” As he said this, he lifted his hand from the spreading stain at his waist and reached out for me. I took his hand in my paw and offered a supportive squeeze. The hand I took hold of was coated in his own blood. It stained my paws as I laced my fingers between his, doing my best to not wretch at the sensation. I don’t think I could say I had ever seen so much blood in my life. The fight to maintain composure was a struggle that I was only just coming out on top of.
“J-just stay with me. Okay?”
He took a deep breath and squeezed back. “I’m trying my best here. Though I’ve not exactly got a good track record of keeping my word, do I?”
“What? What are you talking about?”
“C’mon Tev, you don’t gotta mince words just cause I’m dyin’ here. I fucked up bad, and you got hurt.”
“It’s okay. W-we can worry about that w-when we’re out of here.”
Jack sank further down the wall behind him, slouching and hanging his head. “I dunno. Not so sure they’ll be able to put me back together after this.”
“You’re going to be okay. You said it yourself. People are coming to help. We just need to wait a little longer. Just keep on talking to me. You can do that, right?”
He gave a slow nod. “I’ll try my best, but it’s hard. Everything’s a little… foggy. Don’t know how much blood I’ve lost. Probably too much though.”
Panic gripped my heart. No, no, no! This can’t be happening. Stars above. Please… I can’t lose someone else. Not again.
“You have to hold on. I need you.”
Jack gave a weak chuckle. “Naw. I don’t think you ever needed me. If anything, you’d be better off without me here to scare you half to death. Hell, if it hadn’t been for me neither of us’d be here in the first place.” The translator was still doing its job, but I could hear his voice had grown weaker. Each word was a struggle.
“You made a mistake. Just another to add to the pile. What matters is that you’re sorry. We’ll sort this all out once we know you’re safe, but for now, just focus on staying with me.”
Jack’s face twisted, his eyebrows furrowing and his face softening. “H-how? How can you still believe in me? You trusted me to protect you and I failed.”
I shook my head. “There aren’t enough seconds in the day to count how many times I’ve failed the people I love.” Gently, I bumped my head up against his shoulder and wrapped my claws around his arm. “But it took me meeting you to realize that we’re more than just our failures.”
“I… glad I was able to help.” The strength of his hand held in mine waned, and I squeezed it tighter to make up for the loss.
“We’re going to make it through this together. We have to.”
“We’ll see.”
We continued to wait like this, each minute dragging on for a small eternity. I didn’t want to sap his strength, so I elected to remain silent. In this silence, the distraction from my thoughts melted away, leaving me exposed.
I shot a glance to where Omo still lay. His body rose and fell as he breathed, so there was that at least, but otherwise he was out cold. Look at what you’ve done. How would your family feel about this? How would your friends feel?
A number of his feathers lay strewn about in a pile around him from the force of the impact. I—I did it to protect him. I had to. There was no other choice!
There’s always a choice.
I couldn’t just let him die!
You may be right, but what does it say that your first thought was resorting to violence? Maybe your parents were right. Maybe something is wrong with you.
No. I will not allow myself to regret this. There was no other choice in the heat of the moment. I did what I did, but it’s done now. All that matters is that Jack makes it out to get the help he needs.
As I stamped out the fire among my thoughts, Jack broke the silence as he softly spoke up.“So. If we do manage to make it out of here, what happens to us?”
I hummed in contemplation. “I don’t know. Do… Do you still think this could work?”
“I’ll leave that up to you. Lord knows whether I deserve to have someone like you in my life after the shit I’ve pulled.”
My ears fell flat against the back of my head. As much as I may have wanted to deny it, he hurt me. He knew the weakness of my flighty instincts and took advantage of them to scare me off in his anger. Sure, he was sorry, but could sorry even heal these wounds? The safety I felt in his presence was wounded by what he had done. Maybe given time, that wound could heal, but would a relationship like ours even have the chance to do so? Time. Yeah. That’s what we need.
“I think we need to give it some time.”
Jack grunted. “A shame it doesn’t seem like we’ve got much left. Or rather, doesn’t seem like I’ve got much left. If it wasn’t already obvious, I’m not doing too hot.”
“Don’t talk like that,” I pleaded.
“I’m sorry it had to go this way,” he muttered. “M-maybe if we’d taken us a bit slower this wouldn’t’ve hurt so much. It was stupid of me. I’ve barely known you all of a week and I’ve fallen head over heels only to throw it all away.”
I squeezed his arm tight. “Please,” I mewled. “Even if what we’ve found here doesn’t last past this week, I still want you in my life. Can you hold on just a little longer for me?”
Tears began to well up in the man’s eyes as a smile crept across his face. “I’ll try my best. How about for now though, I hold on to you?”
He took both arms and held them outward. Considering the stress, the terror, the fear, and the pain that had plagued me today, the opportunity of an embrace was too much to pass up. “I think I’d like that.”
I came in closer, and Jack pulled his hand from his abdomen to wrap it around me, pulling me closer. I let go of his other arm, and he repeated the motion with his other hand, pulling me up against his body with both arms in a tight hug as I lay sprawled across his chest.
My face settled right beneath Jack’s. His deep blue eyes stared directly into mine as we sat there together. He ran a hand across the back of my head, parsing the wool on my crown. His breath tickled my face, causing a bloom of orange to spread across it. Though perhaps fractured and damaged like both of our bodies right now, the sense of safety I felt before when with him began to grow once more within me.
“This is nice,” I whispered.
“Yeah…” he leaned in closer to my face, red rushing to his cheeks as he did so. “I uh, I’ve been meaning to do this for a little while now. Figure it’d be best to do it while I still can.”
“Wha—”
Jack leaned in and interrupted me as his lips met my snout, pressing against my mouth and into it. The warmth of his body against me and his breath mixed with mine, stirring up an intoxicating cocktail of conflicting sensations. I had heard of and even seen humans kissing before, but I always found it odd — until now that is. A display such as this, to join your mouth against someone else's, would have once been deemed outright predatory and discouraged by exterminator guidelines. Then again, I never did care too much for such rules.
We both held out for as long as we could until I needed to breathe, then after a quick gasp, I dove back in again. The warmth shared between us was greater than the light of the sun, and so I closed my eyes, allowing myself to bask in its radiance. For this moment, I allowed my worries to melt away as I melted in his arms and we gave ourselves to each other. All good things must come to an end though, and with no small amount of hesitance, I pulled myself away.
I breathed heavily through my mouth, catching my breath to chase away what I now realized was a sense of lightheadedness — one which was most likely brought on by said lack of breathing. “Wow, that was… wow.”
There was no response, only the quick, shallow rise and fall of his chest as I took note of a gentle buzzing that I hadn’t noticed before. Both ears perked upright of their own volition and turned to face the door of the hovel. I could tell that even Jack had heard it as he shifted where he sat and lifted his head to look outside.
“Is that…” As I trailed off, Jack offered an answer, his voice more quiet than the last time he spoke.
“Yeah. I think that’s them. Shouldn’t be long before they show up.” The man offered another weak squeeze that made me realize just how cold he’d grown. Most of the warmth shared between us was my own, but there was only so much it could do to help.
The hope that sprouted in my heart was just as quickly stamped out the moment he spoke. “I-I’m getting real sleepy here sheep. J-just… just stay safe for me, okay?”
“What? No! No, no, no! Hey! Stay with me!” I began to try and rock him back and forth to keep him awake, but he didn’t seem to respond. “They—they’re going to be here soon,” I stammered. “Everything will be alright.”
As he closed his eyes, he whispered one last time. “No… everything… is.”
The tears flowed freely now as I continued in vain to try and keep him awake. “Jack? Stay with me!” I bumped my head against his, shook his shoulders, pinched his arm, and even resorted to pounding against his chest to try and wake him.
“Please, I—I can’t lose someone else. Not like this… not like this…”
The sound of the humming had only grown louder during my desperate attempts to bring him back. After nothing I could do stirred him, I curled up against his chest and waited, placing my head beneath his to offer it support rather than allow it to loll forward.
With my ears pressed against his chest, I could hear the faint thump-thump of his heartbeat. I didn’t know how fast a human’s heart was supposed to beat, but if that of a Venlil’s was in any way comparable, it was far too slow for comfort.
His arms no longer wrapped around me, instead lying limp at his side. My tail twined around his leg, and I hugged my chest with both arms, one eye pressed against his chest while the other was stuck on the door leading outside.
The hum had grown to a roar, but soon enough, its growth halted. The thumping in my chest raced as though it were trying to make up for Jack’s own fading heart, or catch up to the constant, rhythmic thrumming.
Without warning, the door burst open and I squealed as blinding lights illuminated the room. I raised both paws to cover my face, but the damage was already done. Everything became a blurry haze. The room was filled with shouting that shot back and forth between different voices. They were gruff and gravelly as their growled words played themselves back through my translator. Before my vision properly returned, I heard a voice break through the crowd of others.
“Ma’am? Ma’am, are you okay?” A hand grabbed my shoulder and gently shook it. I looked up to a figure in a helmet and mask, but I didn’t have the energy to work up a response. Instead, I shifted gently where I lay. “I need to move you if you’ll let me.” Again, I didn’t budge.
Hands scooped me up, with only a slight amount of resistance on my part as I wriggled in an attempt to return to where I lay. I wanted to stay with him, but a human’s strength was something I couldn’t dare hope to surpass — why even bother?
The blurriness faded just enough to allow me a view of what I was leaving behind. Human-shaped figures in dark clothing surrounded Jack, leaning over him to readjust his body. I caught mention of “blood loss,” and “shock” before being whisked outside where the voices died down and the source of the humming became apparent.
Through the darkness of night, lights illuminated the two helicopters hovering in the air. Their blades cut through the air, blowing the bows of the trees below and sending ripples through the grass. Ropes hung from each helicopter, and from one of them, three more of these similarly dressed humans slid down them to join their compatriots.
The human that carried me set me down outside on the ground, where I wrapped both arms around my legs and set my head on my knees. I tried to muster up the energy to do something, anything, but it just wasn’t there.
I flinched as two hands grasped my shoulders, but when turning around, I relaxed. A reflective blanket had been wrapped around me by the same human that had carried me out. Their mask and helmet had since been removed to reveal their piercing green eyes, dark skin, and short curly hair. I wasn’t exactly used to such a sight — their sight — I would have practically wilted under them a week ago.
They walked around, crouching down to an eye level in front of me. “Are you hurt Ma’am?” If their voice was anything to go by, they seemed to be a woman, though it was difficult to say for sure beneath the bulky layers of armor they wore.
I blinked once, then snapped back to focus. “Is he going to be okay?”
She shrugged. “I’m not sure.” The answer wasn’t exactly a comforting one, but after giving it, she placed a hand on my shoulders and locked eyes with me. “But I can tell you this. Our paramedics will do everything they can to make sure he will be.”
Though it was no guarantee, these words did offer some small amount of comfort.
Almost a year ago now, some unlikely friends offered comfort in a similar — if not quite so dire — situation. It was only right that I respond now just as I did then. I threw both arms forward, wrapping them around the neck of this woman in as tight a hug as I was able to offer. “Thank you.”
“Oh. Uh… sure. Glad I could help.” She wrapped her arms around me in turn, scrunching up the blanket she had just offered me.
He’ll make it. He has to.

A few things – it’s extremely odd that the cards and gifts are being sent to Buckingham Palace and not Kensington Palace or Windsor Castle. I would assume there’s a security reason for this, and perhaps all letters, cards and packages addressed to ANY royal go through the Court Post Office. Still, it’s strange that this story is coming from Buckingham Palace and not Kensington Palace. It’s just further evidence, to my mind, that BP took over KP’s messaging about Kate in March. It also feels like Kensington Palace has been hesitant to publicize any private or public sympathy for Kate – there’s been nothing in the way of “Kate appreciates all of the well-wishes, she’s reading some of the get-well cards.” And notice that BP isn’t saying that either – “the correspondence team has been ‘so touched’ by the love and affection shown to Kate.” Have the messages been passed on to Kate?

2024.05.29 00:18 Digital_Nomad01010 My school said they will give me a release letter on my last day

Hi, I've been working in Korea for over a year now as an English Teacher (E2) and my new school has been bad since the beginning. For example, foreign and native teachers quit, the director has no idea how to manage and blames foreign teachers for everything. A foreign teacher was blamed and yelled at by management for "losing" test papers when the same manager gave those test papers to another teacher by mistake... That's just a mild example.
Anyway, I've had many conversations about leaving, and none of the foreign teachers want to stay either (we all started in March), and the director has been going back on forth on giving me a release letter. One day it's yes, the next no. She already does not like me, or any of the foreign teachers for that matter, so I don't know if I can believe their word.
Then, I eventually talked to the CEO, who is not there daily, but she was so much nicer, I explained to her my situation, and she agreed to give me a release letter, but only on my last day. I asked if she could provide it 2 weeks in advance and she said, "That's not the correct way to give a release letter. It has to be the last day." She did, however, email me a promise letter in a PDF format with the school name and her signature on it stating the release letter will be given on my last day.
Either she's genuinely trying her best, or this is just an attempt to keep me around as long as possible. Also, I know the email she wrote doesn't mean much, so I don't know how that offers assurance.
Now, my last day is in a few weeks, and schools want to give me an offer, but when I explain that I can only get my release letter on my last day, they're reluctant to hire me, and one even rescinded their offer. This release letter being given on the last day is not helping my situation and makes me worried that I could end up in a bad situation on my last day.
What should I do/expect?

Long story short, i was attempting to fix a ps3, so i plugged the hard drive into my pc so i could format it. I used a port that one of my hard drives is plugged into. (Drive E:). After this, Drive E changed to Drive F and now i cant get it to change back because "the parameter is incorrect." How do i change it back to Drive E. I tried using disk management to change the drive letter but got this error.

2024.05.29 00:05 CandyRocks03 Feeling kind of lost

So, about two weeks ago, I took an ADHD test at my counseling appointment. The test had me stare at a monitor and watch letters flash on screen, and every time I saw a letter, I was supposed to press the space bar, but every time there was an X, I was supposed to not press it. Supposedly the program would measure my reaction time, and any misses or whatever, and use all that data to determine whether or not I have ADHD.
Well, last week I got the results, and it said that I don’t have ADHD. Not even slightly. And this was devastating. I was so sure that it was ADHD. All of my symptoms seem to match up with it perfectly. I’d been waiting to get a diagnosis for months with the hope that I would get put on some meds and actually be able to start functioning normally, and the news that I didn’t have it was just soul-crushing.
I had always sort of suspected it, but I only started looking into getting diagnosed after reading posts from other people with ADHD. The more I read, the more I began to realize that, “oh, I do all of these things. Like, I’m having trouble finding examples of things in here that I don’t do.” I felt seen, like I had found my people, like I finally had an answer to the question that had been driving me mad for years, the question of “What is wrong with me?!” but now I’m being told that it wasn’t. That I was wrong.
So, now I just feel lost. I’m back at square one. Back to wondering what’s wrong with me. Is the test just not that accurate and I could still have ADHD? Is there some other mental condition that I might have that’s presenting with the same symptoms as ADHD? Or is it really just me, and I really am just a lazy fuck up? Am I just an attention seeker? Am I just looking for an excuse to be lazy? I imagine that this must be what imposter syndrome feels like.
Anyway, I guess I just don’t know what to do now. I could really use some advice on what to do next, or even just someone to talk to about this. If there’s anyone out there who’s gone through this, I’d love to hear from you. Right now though, I just feel like curling up in bed for a long, long time. If you managed to get through all this, thank you, and if you’d be willing to talk for a bit, I’d really appreciate it. Hope you have a good rest of your day. ❤️‍🩹
