Idk about where you guys live, but here in Canada, I've been seeing more and more vending machines with a sticker on it saying "this machine is taking contactless payments only" with no coin or cash slots anymore. Why? Not everyone has a credit or debt card, nor a wallet on their smartphone. Why not just have both options available?

2024.06.10 03:57 Leadlight Support Weapon Stratagems Review - Pros, Cons, Synergies

I've decided to put together a guide regarding support weapon strategems in their current state. Might become outdated fairly quickly considering a patch might be in soon but I have an afternoon to kill and I figure most of what I write should still apply even after they introduce a patch, might update this post too after that comes out. I plan on reviewing each stratagem by analyzing their optimal use cases, weaknesses, synergies, and my overall impression of each weapon. Please note that these are all just my opinions and personal experiences trying to keep a varied loadout and almost exclusively playing diff 7-9 whenever. This is also based on having all the ship upgrades maxed out so if you don't have everything you might want to consider that when reading this post. If you feel I'm wrong in my assessment or I'm missing any details you might think important please contribute in the comments! I've never really written a guide before and I mostly wanted to consolidate my thoughts on what we have to work with so far. Without further ado, here it goes.

AIRBURST ROCKET LAUNCHER

Strengths: AoE light armor clear. Can destroy bug holes and factories but is very unreliable at it. Most effective against grouped-up lightly armored units such as Troopers, Commissars, and Scout Striders on the Automaton side of things and pretty much all small bug units against Terminids. Generally better against bugs but not completely useless against automatons either. Pretty decent for clearing patrols rapidly before they get a chance to call in reinforcements if you or your mates have something that can mop up the more heavily armored foes. Since most units that can call in reinforcements have low HP and light armor (except for the Brood Commander) when used properly this weapon can be pretty good at knocking out patrols you can't just avoid.
Weaknesses: Poor against medium armor, almost useless against heavy, and despite the preview video of the weapon shown being used against shriekers, not all that effective against fliers either. High teamkill potential if you're not careful, takes up a backpack slot, and takes forever to reload.
Synergies: Would definitely run any anti-armor stratagems such as 500kg bomb, precision strike, eagle airstrike, orbital railcannon, etc. if you use this weapon to cover it's shortcomings. Your primary should always have medium armor penetration if you wanna use this support weapon. Maybe run it with explosive resistance armor too in case you find yourself frequently killing yourself with the gun.
Overall: It does its role alright of clearing chaff alright but I often find myself struggling to want to use this because light armor clear can be achieved by the majority of primary weapons and is often done better by other stratagems. Running something that can destroy armor at higher difficulties is usually more important, especially with the amount of bile titans you see at diff 9. Could use a buff imo.

AUTOCANNON

Strengths: Elite/medium armor clear, stagger. Great against bots and bugs both. Well placed shots can destroy bug holes and factories. Will make short work of most medium armor enemies while giving you a little bit of breathing room by staggering them. Great range. Good ammo economy. Fun and satisfying reload style. Can two shot hulks with a shot to the eye, disable tanks by shooting the treads, kill chargers from the back, and it can soften bile titans though it's not great at killing them.
Weaknesses: Not most optimal weapon against heavy armor or light armor but it can take down most big boys with a little of skill if you know how to exploit weakspots and while you shouldn't be wasting autocannon shots against trash mobs the AC can handle them in a pinch if you need to and there aren't too many of them.
Synergies: Use with an anti light primary and some anti-heavy orbital/eagle stratagems to more cover its weakspots. Armor that reduces recoil when prone/crouching can make this weapon ever better at taking out elites from a distance.
Overall: A well-rounded weapon, often held up as the gold standard of HD2 balancing. Pretty good at most things while not necessarily being the best at everything. Wouldn't change a thing about this gun.

EXPENDABLE ANTI-TANK

Strengths: Anti-armor. Chargers, bile titans, tanks, and hulks. Each call-in gives two EATs so if you only use one you can save the other for later or share with your fellow divers. Very rapid cooldown so no need to worry about wasting this weapon. One shots chargers to the head or can break leg armor allowing your primary to finish it off. Two shots bile titans to the head. Can two shot hulks, shooting one leg will cripple it allowing you to finish it off by shooting the other leg.
Weaknesses: Because each EAT is single use you only have two shots with every call in, so if you don't have any other anti-armor you'll have to rely on on your pals to handle other heavies. Low ammo means it's not good against swarms of enemies. A small but noticeable delay before you're allowed to fire when switching to this weapon makes reacting with this weapon a little bit harder.
Synergies: I would recommend taking at least one other anti-armor stratagem as the EAT isn't likely to be able to handle all the heavies on higher difficulties. Definitely take a primary that can you can use to deal with light and/or medium enemies as you don't want to be wasting EATs on them. Unlike other support weapon it might not be a bad idea to take the EAT with you in addition to another support weapon thanks to it's single use nature. Just remember to pick up your other gun after you use the EAT.
Overall: A solid choice for your anti-armor needs. Fires quicker than the quasar and isn't marred by the long reload time of the recoilless rifle. In a pretty good spot I'd say.

FLAMETHROWER

Strengths: Short range light and medium armor clear, some area denial thanks to being able to light up the ground. The fix to DoT damage turned this from good to great. Excellent against bugs. I can't remember how good this is before getting the fire upgrade ship module, but with that upgrade it can kill nearly anything before it has a chance to get near you. Can damage heavily armored enemies so not completely useless against chargers and bile titans though I wouldn't use this against BTs because they will often stab you way before you can kill them. If you're 500kg or orbital railcannon doesn't kill a BT you could use this to finish it off though I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
Weaknesses: Short range, poor against heavies. I would not use this against bots as most enemies will outrange you and trying to close the distance against a hail of fire from bots is almost always a certain death sentence. Again, can damage heavies but it's not good at killing them so it takes almost a full mag of shooting a charger from behind to kill it, but it will usually kill it if you can play matador for a while, potentially saving your other anti-armor stratagems for BTs. Pouncers, hunters, will die if they get within range of your flamethrower but can sometimes get a hit or two in before you kill them if you don't react quick enough. Stalkers will die if you spot them quick enough but if they get the jump on you it can be tough to deal with them. First shot after switching to flamethrower has a short delay making reacting to enemies that sneak up on you slightly difficult. Using a flamethrower against a bile/nursing spewer is a game of chicken and will get you killed if you don't dodge their vomit spray. It can be fun though very suboptimal to try to kill a bile titan with this gun as takes too long and is nearly impossible to do when there's more than one. Can be easy to teamkill and even self kill if you're not careful.
Synergies: Long range primaries with medium armor penetration (such as the Eruptor, Adjudicator, Diligence Counter Sniper) to take care of spewers and higher health bugs like brood commanders or hive guards before they close the distance. Weapons with stagger to stop hunters/stalkers from closing the distance (I kinda wanna recommend the liberator concussive but that primary doesn't do enough damage to be useful IMO). Anti-armor strats like 500kg bomb and orbital railcannon to cover for it's weakness against heavies.
Overall: My favorite weapon to use against bugs (though not necessarily the best against them because of the need for anti-armor), excellent at its designated role though it's useless outside of it's short range. I wouldn't change anything about this gun the way it is personally. Though I would like a heavy variant that takes up a backpack slot that has longer range/more damage and the potential to explode if hit from behind lol. Don't bother using this vs bots unless you want a challenge as you will be dead weight against bot heavies and are completely screwed vs gunships.

LASER CANNON

Strengths: Precision anti-medium/heavy armor. Excellent against bots but only if you can focus their weakspots long enough. Potentially infinite ammo economy as long as you're careful with the cooldown. Great against hulks when concentrated in the eye, arguably the best support weapon against gunships if you hit the thruster, pretty good against devastators if you can hit the heads. Good against tanks and cannon towers if you can outmaneuver them to shoot them in the vent plus you can disable tank movement if you shoot the treads off the tanks long enough. Striders take pretty decent damage when shot in the eye (it's on the right hand side). Great in snow biomes due to increased time to overheat. Doesn't take up a backpack slot.
Weaknesses: Due to the way bug weaknesses work this weapon is kinda useless against their heavies when compared to your other support weapon options so I wouldn't bother using this against bugs. High heat biomes make this weapon difficult to use due to quicker overheat. TTK against bots isn't great if you don't land weakpot hits. Usable against light armor bots but you're better off switching to a rapid fire primary. The need to concentrate your aim for a moment leaves you vulnerable to counterfire from devastators and hulks if you don't "slice the pie". (Slowly panning your angle from cover so that you're only exposed to one enemy at a time)
Synergies: High fire rate primaries and AoE Eagle/Orbital stratagems to kill chaff with. Orbital railcannon/precision strike against tanks to eliminate the need for flanking maneuvers. As the Laser Cannon does not use a backpack, this goes very well with the shield generator backpack since it gives you time to expose yourself to enemy fire without taking health damage.
Overall: Honestly I think this is the best support weapon to use against bots, the biggest blindspot for this gun is it's inability to take on tanks/cannon towers without hitting them from behind but that's a pretty fair tradeoff when it can absolutely shred anything with a front facing weakspot. If they had to nerf this weapon somehow I would maybe make it so the weapon had to take up a backpack slot to use it but I'm no game designer. Not so good against bugs imo.

STALWART

Strengths: Anti-light armor chaff clear. Most useful against bugs in my opinion. Arguably the best of the three machine guns at the moment. With 250 rounds and the ability to change the fire rate this can shred light armor enemies while doing decently against medium armored enemies if you hit their tender bits. Can reload while firing so you can kite bugs when you run out of ammo and controls pretty well even without crouching or going prone.
Weaknesses: Doesn't penetrate medium armor so you'll need to aim more mindfully against hive guards and spewers. This gun can kill chargers in the same way I could survive a fall from a five story building: theoretically. Shooting a chargers butt with this will take forever to kill it, don't bother. Don't get me started on using this against bile titans. I wouldn't use this against bots because most of them have at least medium armor, but while not great against them I wouldn't say it's completely useless, just that you'd be better off with most other options. Despite the big mag size the overall capacity is only two mags not counting the mag loaded in so ammo would need to be rationed.
Synergies: Anti-armor stratagems for the big bugs/bots, medium penetration or explosive primaries for smaller armored foes. As the Stalwart doesn't take up a backpack slot I find that using a supply pack with it allows you to stay topped up on ammo while also filling a support role for your teammates and keeping you stocked on 'nades and stims.
Overall: I'd only really use this against bugs as most bots are too armored for this to be useful against. A solid gun that's good at what it does while keeping you mobile.

ARC THROWER

Strengths: Good stagger, hits multiple enemies, good for clearing mixed crowds of medium/light enemies. Infinite ammo. Better against bugs than bots. Doesn't need careful aim.
Weaknesses: Can damage heavy enemies. Short-ish range. Takes a moment to charge up each shot so if you're not careful you can get overwhelmed. Very high teamkill potential if you even so much aim in the general vicinity of someone ahead of you.
Synergies: I'd usually take the Rover with me to kill the smaller bugs while I focus on downing elite enemies. Definitely take something that can kill heavy armor, and maybe a long range option for your primary to take out enemies that are out of range. The ship module upgrade for this weapon makes it much more deadly, both for your foes and your teammates as it hops further.
Overall: Pretty decent gun but I often find myself not as engaged when I use it as you don't really need to aim very well with this weapon. I'd say you need to consider movement and positioning more when using the Arc Thrower to optimize how many jumps it makes from enemy to enemy while avoiding your pals.

GRENADE LAUNCHER

Strengths: Like the autocannon, the grenade launcher is a pretty well rounded weapon that can kill almost anything even if it's not the best weapon for the job. Kills light, and medium enemies pretty quickly. Not a slouch against heavy enemies like chargers either. Is able to kill bile titans but you'll probably use up all your ammo doing so while putting yourself within spitting/stabbing distance. Can clear bug holes and factories. If you couldn't tell I prefer using it against bugs though it's not bad against bots either. As with most weapons flanking will be important when using this gun against heavy bot enemies.
Weaknesses: Terrible ammo economy. You'll run out of grenades within a few encounters if you're not careful. Not as egregious with teamkilling as the airburst or the arc thrower but still something to be careful about. Again good at killing most things but not the best at killing everything.
Synergies: Because of it's terrible total ammo capacity I consider the supply pack an essential stratagem to carry with this weapon if you don't want to end up hogging all the resupplies. Using a refill gives you back two mags so you can make it rain explosive fire with this gun without having to worry about spending all your ammo in one go.

ANTI-MATERIEL RIFLE

Strengths: Great range, precision anti medium. Best against bots, usable against bugs but you'll have a hard time with them. With good aim and positioning you can make short work of any bot elite. Hulks die with two shots to the eye and if you have a hard time hitting that you can cripple it with repeated shots to the leg though it might take up a lot of your ammo. Against bugs the AMR is decent against spewers (one shot to the head while keeping out of spitting distance) and other medium armored enemies.
Weaknesses: You need good aim to make this gun work, and against bugs you might not have the breathing room and space to make us of the AMR effectively. Towers and tanks still need you to outmaneuver them as the AMR only penetrates medium armor. Almost useless against bile titans. Sight is misaligned which makes aiming long distance painful though you can fix to some extent this by aiming ever so slightly to the top left of the reticle as opposed to the center (hoping they fix this in the next patch)
Synergies: I almost always use the default Liberator if I'm running the AMR as it allows me to keep a decent engagement range without wasting AMR shots on chaff. Synergizes pretty well with the jetpack as a positioning and escape tool as it allows you to reach vantage points you wouldn't normally be able to. Best used in biomes with wide open sight lines like desert or snow though be careful with conditions such as blizzards or sandstorms that take away the AMRs range advantage. Using stun grenades with the AMR basically trivializes hulk and makes them about as threatening as a trooper as you can pop em in a second.
Overall: I love using this gun against bots, it is a seriously sick feeling hopping from vantage point to vantage point and providing cover fire for your teammates. Not so useful against bugs especially when the AMR almost does nothing to BTs (seriously as people on here have already complained about the bug meta feels super restricted by a stratagem's ability to deal with bile titans), their speed and numbers make it very difficult for you to move into smart positions with the AMR

RAILGUN

Strength: Precision anti medium armor, can handle heavies with some skill. Honestly I feel the railgun is one of two weapons that I feel are kinda slept on. Yeah it's no longer a god against bugs ever since that old nerf but it's actually pretty good against bots because of it's ability to one shot devastators without needing to hit the head, even outdoing the AC honestly in terms of how quickly you can kill devastators. The thing is you need to be using this gun in unsafe mode. Let it charge for a second, peek, shoot, bam. Instant dead devastor, only shield devastators have a chance against you. This gun even one shots hulks if you aim for the eye and let it charge for a decent amount of time otherwise it's always two eye shots at most. Against bugs you can one shot pretty much all elites and strip off the leg armor from a charger, allowing you to finish it off with your primary.
Weaknesses: Again this gun suffers from Bile Titan syndrome. Can handle most things with bugs but it's not so useful against BTs plus the sheer volume of bugs in high difficulty missions make it a bit impractical to use. Also if you let it charge for too long in unsafe mode it explodes and you (usually) die. You can't even pick up the gun anymore because it's been blown to smithereens.
Synergies: Against bots or bugs, bring anti-armor strats like the orbital rail, 500kg, or precision strike to take care of bile titans, tanks and tower cannons. Wearing heavy armor with explosive resistance guarantees you can survive messing up your charge with health left to spare though that's not a crutch you want to be relying on. When in doubt it's always better to just miss.
Overall: Feel free to disagree but this gun is a sleeper pick against bots imo. A steady hand and smart use of cover allows you to take care of all bot elites potentially even faster than the lascannon or AC all while handling better and not taking up a backpack slot.

RECOILLESS RIFLE

Strengths: Anti-heavy armor, decent ammo capacity. Pretty much all the rocket launchers are good picks against bugs because of their ability to trivialize chargers and handle bile titans. One charger headshot instantly kills with the RR, and if you miss hitting the leg can open it up to finishing it off with your primary. If you're playing with a friend you're on comms and coordinating with the RR is absolutely the best rocket launcher to bring. Team reload makes it an absolute beast that can wipe multiple heavies off the map in seconds. Against bots one of the more reliable way to kill hulks with the RR is by shooting the legs. Hitting one leg cripples it, making the other leg easier to hit. Hitting both legs with the RR downs the hulk. A well aimed eye hit can one shot a hulk but I find this to be fairly unreliable. Tanks can also have their movement disabled by hitting the treads if you have trouble getting behind it.
Weaknesses: The long reload time and the fact you have to stay still to reload if you don't have someone team reloading you makes the RR a bit of a poor pick for matchmade games. Kiting bugs is essential to success at higher difficulties and not being able to move can be a death sentence if you try to reload at the wrong time. Luckily this can be alleviated by the fact that the RR has a staged reload animation. Once you pull out the shell, dodging or switching weapons takes you out of the animation and if you continue it later your diver will only need to play half the animation to finish the reload. Furthermore, once the ammo is loaded into in (as indicated by the ammo icon lighting up to white from red) you can cancel the rest of the reload animation by dodging or switching weapons, immediately freeing you up to move.
Synergies: Team reload if you can take advantage of it turns this weapon from middling, to excellent. The ship module upgrade, Superior Packing Methodology, also really helps the RR shine as its ammo capacity becomes a much less urgent issue.
Overall: The RR is great when in a coordinated team, but can be lacking otherwise. I hope that if Arrowhead switches up how team reload works (taking the shell out from the shooter's backpack instead of the assisting diver) the RR can become more viable in games with randoms.

SPEAR

Strengths: Insanely long range, potential to one shot almost all heavies. The Spear can be a great weapon when it works.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately as of the current patch the Spear's lock on is still infamously broken, constantly blue balling the diver with a lock that either never finalizes or just never even starts. Ammo wise the Spear is also the most limited, holding only a total of three rockets in it's backpack.
Synergies: Not much to say here. Your other weapons need to be able to take care of light and medium armor as the Spear does not have the ammo to last long.
Overall: A really good anti-armor option if it would only lock on more reliably. Waiting for the patch with bated breath.

QUASAR CANNON

Strengths: Anti-heavy, infinite ammo, unlike the RR and the EAT the Quasar doesn't have as much bullet drop, if any, so long distance shots are easier to make, perfect for taking out cannon towers from across the map. The lack of any need to ration ammo also makes this gun more forgiving to use against less important enemies like spewers or devastators.
Weaknesses: Long charge up before each shot with an even longer cooldown, leaving you vulnerable and requiring you to be smart about when to start shooting.
Synergies: The shield generator backpack is a solid pick in most cases, but especially so with the quasar in my opinion as the extra health gives you the breathing room to charge up your shots.
Overall: It's hard to go wrong with any of the four rocket launchers currently in game, but the quasar is a fairly reliable pick that trades ease of use for improved versatility and a great ammo economy, though the cooldown can make fighting in hectic battles with multiple heavies more dangerous.

HEAVY MACHINE GUN

Strengths: Anti medium-armor elite with some chaff clear capability. The Heavy Machine Gun can penetrate medium armor, while still being able to clear light enemies without expending all your ammo. Surprisingly good against bots, destroying Devastators with surprising ease, and even killing hulks if you can aim for the eye consistently.
Weaknesses: Terrible recoil, a loooong reload time that you have to stay still for, abysmal mag capacity (75 rounds!) and only two spare mags. The HMG is a hard gun to use that can use up all your ammo faster than a scavenger can call in its buddies. The reload time and the fact you have to stay still alone makes it terrible to use against bugs. Also the sight is super messed up and misaligned :/
Synergies: Like the grenade launcher the HMG makes the Supply Pack a must pick in my opinion as you will not have enough ammo to use this gun to it's full potential otherwise. Armor that gives reduced recoil makes otherwise insane kick of the HMG possible to control, while using heavy armor gives you the survivability you might need to keep firing that gun in a sustained position. The shield generator relay is not a bad option either as you WILL have to stay still in prone when using this gun to actually hit anything.
Overall: This gun is my other sleeper pick aside from the Railgun, but it is a gun with a lot of caveats that really needs specific building and consideration for it to shine. One - only use the lowest fire rate setting(450rpm), anything else and you're going to be wasting the gun's already limited ammo. Two - do not fire this gun full auto when aiming against chaff. One or two body shots to most light armored bot troopers is sufficient to kill them. This thing has the stopping power of a marksman rifle. Fire it in single round bursts against weak enemies, do not go full rambo. Only fire full auto when shooting devastators, scout striders (aim for the leg joint), or hulks. Three - as mentioned in the synergies, use a Supply Pack. You will not be able to use this gun for more than two or three encounters without it. Four - heavy armor with reduced recoil and explosive resistance is your best friend. Yes you won't have as much mobility but you'll need the damage resistance to be able to hold your position(in prone) without dying immediately as you will be exposed the whole time you're using this weapon and you'll need the recoil control to even have a chance at controlling this gun. I've had pretty decent success using this gun on Helldive, but it's a gun you really have to build around and plan your tactics around. Is it worth it? Maybe not, as you can see it's a fussy weapon, but when it works it makes you feel like a one man army that can take on the world. The gun could use a change or two, personally I think giving it 100 rounds instead of 75 would put it in a good spot and potentially make it usable against bugs.

My partner and I Air BNB our family cabin, it’s in a remote location and we maintain it ourselves. The cabin itself is small, but it sleeps 4, plus we have some floor mattresses.
There is a tiny Bonus cabin outside that also sleeps four. Therefore the max amount of guests we allow at the same time is 8. After the 4th guest we charge an extra 50 dollars per guest. The price is 175 per night plus 75 dollar cleaning fee. We are pet friendly for smaller to medium pets too.
There is a pool, hot tub, complimentary farm fresh eggs from our neighbor up the street. It’s a really great deal, we only ask two things of our guests,1. NO PARTIES, meaning only your guests are allowed. We got burned when we first opened and a group invited a ton of friends, they trashed the place. That was over a year ago tho and our new rules have worked well. 2. Take your trash out and put it in the bins outside of the house. This is because of mice. The cabin is on a farm.
Since those people a year and a half ago, things have been good. But this weekend I got burned. The guy asks me if they can invite some of their friends and I thought I was safe because he asked. I told him no, he can add 3 more people to the listing and it will be 50 bucks more a person tho. He texts back and says never mind, his friends will stay at a nearby hotel.
We have a camera on the driveway and I normally don’t check it unless something happens so I was just going about my weekend. Well, my husband just went to the farm and it’s a mess and smells like pot and cigarette smoke because they left all their trash in there and there’s tons of it.
So I checked the camera and there were like 7 cars, even parked in the yard ! I couldn’t see how many people got out of them, and they never came out of the house almost the whole weekend. Judging by the amount of trash I’d say there were at least 12 people. There were several empty beer case packages. They also left beer in our fridge which would be cool ordinarily, but it was miller light haha. The trash bags are filled with liquor bottles and cigarettes and here’s the weird thing…
It seems they only used two beds haha. They rearranged the furniture and broke our karaoke machine too. I’m so angry because I feel like we provide a lot for the price. There’s even a fire pit for guests that we provide firewood for. It’s also on 70 acres of land that we cut trails for guests to explore.
Most guests come for the atmosphere and ambiance, not to get wasted in the house. Anyway, what would you do ? I’m obvs going to leave a 3 star review but is there anyway to recoup for extra guests ?

It’s long, I know. but I just am in dire need of advice/clarity.. from someone not familiar with our situation.
context:
my (ex) girlfriend and I dated for nearly 3 years. I moved from Ohio to florida to live closer to her after doing 4 months of long distance. after living in florida for a year we decided to move to Nebraska (her home state/her hometown). after being in nebraska for over a year, I decided that it just wasn’t for me. not much job opportunity, not much to do. etc. I’m from Columbus, Ohio. a much much bigger city. I told her in October that I was having thoughts of moving back to Ohio and that I thought it would do wonders for our relationship, even though our relationship was already great. she told me she didn’t have much of an urge to move to ohio. from october-february we kind of just went through the motions.. continuing on with our relationship, basically acting like nothing bad was going to happen when my lease was up and it was time to move. she had applied for jobs in columbus but nothing enticing. her reason for not wanting to move was that she enjoyed her job and all of her family (4 brothers and mom/dad) lived in Nebraska.
she had visited my hometown multiple times before and absolutely loved it. she had stated tons of times how amazing it was to her.
february came and I moved back to Ohio.
she pleaded for me to stay in touch with her, to not delete her off social media.. etc. so we did, for the most part up until 3 weeks ago.
our relationship was amazing. we were literal bestfriends. rarely ever got in arguments, had planned out our future together. the dreams and desires we shared etc. truly the love of my life. and I think that’s what hurts the most, i’m not used to clean breakups. my past breakups ended because of me being cheated on… etc.
I thought moving back to Ohio would give me a freshness to life… i’ve struggled with chronic depression for 10 years now. have been on antidepressants every day for 7 years now.
but i’ve never been more lonely in my entire life. and that’s saying something… because many know how much i’ve struggled with life. I feel so lost without her. so many times i’ve been driving country backroads and have fought the urge to shed tears because im so used to having her by my side.
she seems like she’s thriving in life from what ive seen. she has lost 30 pounds and has gotten super involved with fitness. when we last talked though she claimed she was not thriving and was struggling with the breakup too.
my birthday was in april, she didn’t wish me a happy birthday but called me 3 days later and apologized (while crying) for not wishing me a happy birthday. she ended up sending me a care package gift box of stuff.. probably 100 dollars worth of stuff.
last time we spoke was almost 3 weeks ago.
I asked if she had any urge to come visit me. this was her response…
“I’ve been praying on it and I don't feel that visiting Ohio isn’t the right move for me. I will always care about you, but I believe that staying here is what's best for my future. I don't want to risk us going through the pain of parting ways again. I'm truly content with where I am right now and trust that this is where God has me. I will always be your friend and it makes me really sad to hear you’re so lonely. I will continue to pray for you, as I don’t want that for you. I know it's hard, trust me, I never have felt heartbreak like that. I know you weren't asking me to move there, but just to visit. Right now, I'm content and happy with where I am in my faith and journey with Jesus. I feel He's leading me in the right direction. And of course I miss you and cherish our good memories together, but I know our paths are different at the moment. Oh brody lee, tears are filling my eyes. my bestfriend, forever. I’m never far.”
and that was that.
I find myself checking up on her, on social media so much. I know it’s not healthy at all. I just miss her so terribly much. I’ve never felt more alone in my entire life without her.
I guess my question is… how do you deal with missing someone so terribly much? what have you done to cope with this feeling? I just feel so alone and so low.

I (17 F) have an aunt (F 63), we'll call her Jane, who I don't see very often because her family lives a state away. Because of this, I'm not really used to her personality and some of the things she says/does.
Last night, a small part of our family decided to go out to eat as part of a celebration for our cousin. This party consisted of myself, 7 of my adult cousins, 1 cousin around my age, my 2 aunts Jane and Cheryl (F 64), and Cheryl's grandson Tucker (M 1). I decided to sit next to Tucker because I really like little kids. Aunt Jane sat at the opposite end of the table. At this restaurant, there was a claw machine where you could win glittery rubber ducks. One of my adult cousins thought it would be funny to win Tucker a duck from the machine. So, he goes over and grabs a random one and sits it in front of Tucker. Tucker takes it upon himself to throw the duck on the ground, so I decide to pick it up for him. This becomes a little game for us throughout the entire night.
At some point, aunt Jane stands up to go to the restroom, and stops in to fuss with Tucker for a minute. Now, the duck that my cousin won happened to be pink, which really didn't matter because it's literally just a rubber duck. Well it really mattered to Jane. She came over and was all like "You shouldn't be playing with that! It's pink! You need a boy color!" This honestly ticked me off a little bit. He's a baby throwing a duck on the ground and getting a laugh out of it, who cares what color the damn duck is? She walked away to go to the bathroom, so I thought that was the end of it. Nope. She decided to spend upwards of 15 dollars just to get him a different duck. Eventually, she comes back, takes the pink duck away, and sits the blue one in front of him, saying "There. Now you have a boy color! No more girly stuff for you!" Like, ok woman both me and you are wearing blue as we speak, does that mean we have to change clothes because we aren't wearing girl colors??
I didn't throw a fit or make a huge deal about it because, again, it's just a duck and he threw this one all the same. But I did continually make fun of her for the redt of the night. Not to the whole table, but to the small group of people beside me who had witnessed how Jane acted (2 adult cousins and Aunt Cheryl). For example, when our food got brought out, they were on blue plates. I took it upon myself to tell my cousins we couldn't eat our food because it was on boy color plates and we're all girls. Just little things like that. Nothing extreme.
Earlier today, Tucker was at my grandma's house with Cheryl, and he was playing with a pink toy again, so I, obviously, said something along the lines of "Oh god don't tell Jane he's playing with that! It's for girls!" My mom said I was going overboard with the joke and called me an asshole, but I don't think that's the case.
Edit: "continually" wasn't the right word to use. I made around 5 jokes from last night at 6pm to today at 3pm.

Alright so I'm new to printing. Just got an ender 3 v2 yesterday. Some of you may have seen the post. Well I got all the parts cleaned up and replaced everything that was broken. Did the manual level and then auto level. I feel like my mesh is pretty dang good..... Yet when I print the bed level lines the right side of the bed doesn't adhere. 2024.06.10 02:25 swaggylongbottom I walked away from Gambling, but I walked away a winner.

Some of you may have seen my posts a few weeks ago warning about a certain Casino and it's so-called "Regulatory Authority". Now, while I won't name either in this particular post, I just wanted to share a bit of my gambling story, it ends on a wild ride....
Last November, I started tinkering with online casinos and hit a JP on a Buffalo slot for $5,600 on $600 deposited. I was hooked... deep. By January, between two online casinos, I went from being up over 5k to being up only about 2k and pulled the plug (at my wife's pleading... or perhaps demands). About a month later, I secretly opened an account with a new casino and began depositing with credit cards my wife couldn't see. She had no idea, and in my mind I would never get so far into debt I couldn't pay my cards so it would be fine.
Well, over the next two months my gambling got worse and worse, till some days I'd deposit 3-400 A DAY.... some days I'd run that up to 3k, twice I ran it up to 10k, but I ALWAYS gave it back. I was deep in it... when I hit the 10k mark I was 5k in debt and I told myself I was going to pull it out the next day.... but I didn't. I wanted to have a fatter wad of cash hit the bank so when I told my wife, it would ease the blow a bit.
Finally, I was just over 7k in credit card debt because of the gambling. It wasn't fun anymore. I just wanted to break even, confess to my wife and pay it off and be done. I was stressed out and felt horrible, not because I couldn't pay my bills, but because of how long this debt would take to pay at this rate.
But... one night I deposited $150. Hit the slots as usual, doing $2 spins. And hit almost instantly, to the tune of a few hundred. Swapped games, upped my bets, and hit again within the first few pulls, a few thousand (about 3k). Swapped again, gave back almost 2k before switching to another, then a few pulls later and bam, 5k.
So then I swapped one more time and really upped the bet, and within a few pulls, hit for 15k. I couldn't believe it... from my deposit till this 15k hit I had only been playing MAYBE 30 minutes.... MAYBE. And I was now at just over the 20k mark.
The weird thing is, there was no elated feeling... I didn't feel like running to tell my wife... I wouldn't even say I was super excited. Shocked? Of course, but the feeling was more like a giant weight being lifted...
The next day, I had to confront the reality of explaining to my wife a large sum of $$$ coming into the account, then a decent chunk of it going out to pay credit card. She was SUPER UPSET. Like, "You cheated on me with your ex and you're having her baby?!" kind of upset. It wasn't until the money situation all settled and the accounts looked good that her anger fizzled out.
To this day, my urge to gamble has been nonexistent since the day I got back on top. I was able to walk away, not only a winner, but a winner to the tune of 14k over the past 8 months. I realized I only felt like gambling when our bank account balances began to fall (due to my inconsistent work schedule, I can't pick up a second job and my wife can't work full time because we cannot afford a sitter). So the focus shifted to financial responsibility, and as long as the balances stay up, I don't think I'll ever have the urge to put money into a slot machine again!
I hope the rest of you can walk away a big winner like meat some point in the near future! Gambling is fun, slots are fun, but man... with this online shit its just so easy to dig a hole you can't climb out of....

My S9's screen cracked and now it's dependent on my charger, so I'm in the market for a new one. I'm on the fence between an samsung s21 or a pixel 6a. For s21, I want to buy because of it's battery life, but I'm not sure of it's camera and the fact that there's no micro slot. Likewise, I'm tempted by the pixel 6 or 6a's camera, but a. the battery life is notably poor, b. I'm not sure how to feel about owning a phone made by the number 1 data harvester in the world, and c. I heard that the camera degrades. Both are currently on backmarket for around $150 dollars, and both have e sim capability.

M22 here,
I've recently started dating at around December of last year and I wanted to give my perspective of things and how it has been going as of lately. My last long-term relationship was around 2019, precovid and it unfortunately ended due to the pandemic, family issues, moving to a different state and all sorts of clusterfudge that happened all at once. Also due to online community college, making both friends and dating kind of stopped during this time, From 2020-2023
For people talking about the modern dating scene and how much of a mess it is for both genders I started to understand why this is the case. A lot of my friends, female and male alike have expressed their dissatisfaction of the current dating market. I didn't know at first why people have been complaining about it until some time around this year... A lot of times it really does feel like if I don't magically check off all the boxes in the person I'm pursuing, that person decides they can just move onto the next person, and so-on and so-fourth. Ghosting, flaking is just so common noawadays it's so exhausting either when you're planning to go to a first date that person cancels or is a noshow, or after the first date that person just completely ghosts you without any closure.
Describing myself: To start off I'm not here to brag about myself I just want to know if anybody is or have similar experiences and to see if my current self holds up to the standards to the people I'm trying to date/have a relationship with. I think I'm a reasonably decent looking guy. Average height 5'8-5'9, musculaathletic, has a skincare routine, goes to the gym pretty frequently, have a couple of hobbies I'm super into (tech, martial arts boxing, taekwondo, MMA stuff, volunteering, looking into joining a running club sometime this year w/ friends), currently a nursing student that will (hopefully) graduate within the next year (Yay for male nurses!), goes out pretty frequently (out for runs, errands for friends & family, out to study etc.) , occasionally goes out to bars and clubs maybe 2-3 times per month during the weekends, not really into smoking, vaping, etc., Works in healthcare as a CNA, joined university sports clubs, cooks. Aspiration to become a healthcare provider one day, plan to get experience in Med-Surg setting for a couple of years, looking to travel, pickup new hobbies such as bartending (mixing drinks and stuff), learn BJJ, relearn Korean again (currently a white-washed Asian guy lol), learn digitial art, wanting to have my first MMA fight within the next decade or so. Finally... I don't think I'm an asshole I think? I haven't heard from people or have overheard people saying that I am an asshole so I think I'm a decent dude, I try to have good intentions from whatever I do. (FYI I do believe kindness, selfless/selfishness, virtue/vices is really determined on people around you, not yourself)

- After the date we talked about what we want in life, how we could do better, deep stuff, etc. date says she might be bisexual, encouraged her to explore what she likes, says she wanted to pursue Architecture, talked about hobbies, future careers etc. still following me on social media lol, deciding whether or not I should reach out later this year to check up on her.

Funny bits:
- When agreed to meeting at a local university coffee shop she looked at the wrong coffee shop that was at the next block which looked super sketchy, changed from picking her up to meeting over there. FYI the surrounding area of the University that I go to is super sketchy has crackheads around the area.
- Took her to campus fitness center did 1-2 workouts and showed her how to box (also showed her how to box over at the arcade at the punching machine... she scored a 2 on it lol)
- After the date her car got towed for some reason? We ended up waiting for her car for almost 2 hours at a super dark, sketchy location. We watched a movie inside my car while looking at our rearview to check to see if the towing guy arrived. Offered to pay for some of the towing fee, didn't let me lol. We ended up being friendly with this random guy that also got his car towed for no reason the previous day. We all ended up getting our vehicles back and drove home safely.
Date takes multiple days to respond with one sentence responses after the first date. After the final text saying she may be available for Sunday date does not reach back out and hasn't texted back within 3 days
- Edit: I did text her the following morning on Friday when she texted on Thursday evening saying "she may be free", I told her to reach out and let me know if she is still good for Sunday and if she's free the following week.

Howdy Hunters!
Loved reading your stories with the Avto yesterday! Ive seen both ends of the spectrum which is nice to see. Today we are going to discuss something completely different though. The weird pistol with an underbarrel shotgun. The LeMat Mark 2.
The LeMat is a 1-slot 9 round cylinder revolver shooting compact ammo and it has a single shot underbarrel shotgun that you can access by swapping fire mode. The special ammo options consist of fmj and incendiary for the compact ammo and dragons breath, slugs and starshell for the shotgun. The Lemat is otherwise a jack of all trades pistol, bringing medium damage and cycle time, a bit higher recoil and pretty good velocity.
Pros: - A 9 round cylinder is quite nice and it allows you to keep shooting for longer than most other pistols - The ironsight is probably my favorite for any pistol. Its really clean and it feels easy to line up headshots. - Its a versatile weapon because of the shotgun. Giving you a backup one-shot option for when people get to close to you. - I mean look at that Brass Flower skin! Just look at it!!!
Cons: - Compact ammo has its limitations, even with fmj. Its nice to use at a medium and closer ranges, but you will notice a lesser performance when compared to the long and medium ammo pistols as well as the very quick firing compact ones. - It seems like it would be good for fanning with that 9 round cylinder and while its not terrible it is pretty lackluster compared to other pistols like the Scottfield swift, Pax Trueshot and Conversion pistol. The same applies for the duelies as well unfortunately. That is because the base spread is just too high. - This thing can get pretty expensive if you invest in special ammo comming in a base of 83 dollars. +50 for fmj which is basically mandatory and another 65 if you want to bring a slug. Thats a total of 198 for a pistol that isnt all that amazing in any particular role.
Im very conflicted about this pistol. I really want to like it, but it has a lot going against it. Its not the best for ranged shooting. That would be the uppercut or Trueshot. Its not the best close range pistol because it gets beat by the spitfire and the double action revolvers unless you can land that shotgun kill. Its not a good fanner or dual wielding pistol either. On top or that its pretty expensive if you upgrade to slugs, making it a tough sell for close to 200 dollars. I love the look of this gun though. It sounds cool as well and in practice its quite versatile, but its trying to be good at too many things and thus isnt great in any particular thing.
Lets talk about the compact ammo options. First is FMJ and this is basically the only option. Fmj on compact ammo is always amazing and its no different here. More penetration is great and more damage over distance is very much needed. Resupplying isnt so bad because you get quite a lot of compact ammo per box. The hit to velocity also isnt too bad. I would always take this ammo. No exceptions.
After reading that last paragraph you probably know whats comming next. Incendiary is very meh. The burning isnt really relevant for a weapon like this. Losing pen is horrible and losing out of fmj is even worse. I see no reason to ever pick this.
Onto the shotgun ammo now. First i will say a bit about the buckshot. The one tap range recently got buffed a bit to 6 meters. This is still very close though and its truely a last resort when someone is pushing you around a corner. This would be my default pick if i didnt want to pay extra for a slug.
Dragons breath is a meme. The one shot kill becomes an abysmal 3 meters at which point you are better off going for a melee. The burning also doesnt matter because after shooting you have an empty gun with the enemy in your face and you will be dead. For burning bodies also other options exist. Dont pick this.
Ah here we go again with the starshell... Do you want to pay 5 dollars to NOT have an underbarrel shotgun? Then this is the ammo for you. Otherwise just pretend that it doesnt exist like i do.
Slugs are actually quite interesting on the other hand! Recently the LeMat was standardized to match the barrel length of the handcannons which means slugs 1 tap up to the outer edge of 11 meters. That is quite a respectable range and it makes this underbarrel potentially very scary if you can hit those chest shots consistantly. You get 3 slugs with this weapon and you could potentially pool these with another slug shotgun which is pretty neat. They do cost another 65 Dollars however and push the price to 198. If you dont care about that then absolutely take slugs! Otherwise going with buckshot is probably fine as long as you realise the range limitation.
What to pair this with? A shotgun seems like a natural fit because of the ammo pooling and with fmj you can click heads at a respectable distance for ranged kills. At the same time you can also pair it with a rifle and rely on the Lemat to cover you at close range. Because you will be reliant on the shotgun in this example i would recommend bringing that slug every time. As you can see its quite a well rounded weapon and can be taken with a lot of stuff. As i said before its not going to be perfect in any role, but it will still be viable.
In terms of traits there are a couple things you could consider. Fanning is ok. I have a love hate relationship with this pistol and fanning. Its definitly not the best but if you value a couple extra shots then you can experiment with this. Ambidexterous is a possibility for duelies but i wouldnt recommend doing that. Its to inaccurate and the extra rounds dont really make up for it. Let alone the double shotguns that you can only hipfire in this mode. Its a big meme.
That was all i have to say on the LeMat. I feel like it needs a buff in some way to really find its niche in Hunt. Do you guys agree? and if so, what would you change? I would love to hear it. And as always. Happy hunting and until tomorrow!
