This is already one of my top games of the year; the items are clever, and the puzzles do a good job of highlighting both their straightforward and more unique uses. The aesthetics both musically and visually are top notch.
I've collected every egg, seen the second ending, and have 11 secret rabbits.
But I won't be finishing any more than this, because Animal Well has gone all-in on what I think is the worst offense in the industry: the game can't be fully completed without using external content.
If I'm buying a video game, unless the game says otherwise up front in its store page description, I expect that the content is self-contained and can be completed by one person without needing to, for example, download a barcode scanner app to my phone, manipulate images from screenshots on a computer, be a member of the developer's discord community to receive secret codes, or anything else that locks game content behind access to real-world information or ARG communities.
There's nothing more frustrating than spending 3 hours solving a difficult environmental puzzle that requires drawing on the map to reveal the answer only to find out that those efforts were wasted because the other pieces of the treasure hunt take place outside of the game itself. If all of the end-game puzzles were of that caliber where they were difficult but could be completed in-game, this would probably be in my top 10-20 games list.
I get that some people are into that kind of stuff, but it really should be made clear on the store page before buying it.

- Kirakiraru Thieves- Instead of the random no name fairies in the mountain who all look like pekorin, I think the corrupted sweets fairies should've been the residents of the mountains. Then it would make more sense to rescue them. Just design softer, non-sharp looks for their purified fairy forms. They're already food themed so making them the sweets fairies of the mountain makes so much sense. Maybe their designated purpose was to increase the kirakirarun production in their respective snacks but corruption makes them suck it out instead.
- Julio- Honestly, keep Julio as is but instead of breaking his wand JUST after his revival, just make his powers more like a defensive waffle barrier so that he focuses on defending the populace while the Cures fight. Make his character like a paladin who protects the people's kirakirarun to make up for his past sins of stealing it.
- Bibury- I already like Bibury's personality and look, but her powers and story just feel a little lackluster. Maybe make it so that she's an orphan who was always hungry and she curses people who always ate meals together with their families. That's when she was "saved" by Noir and given a doll, which gave her the familial love she craved for while keeping her hate for sweets, which are a luxury to her. Transforming her cursed doll is already a unique aspect that I want to keep but maybe some of her powers is to make copies of Iru to spread magical rumors and maybe help her in battle by hindering the enemies movements. This power carries over when she defects to the Cures but the doll copies are now dressed in white and black and have her pigtails.
- Grave- Probably the weirdest one out of the bunch. He's not even dessert-themed or related but just a corrupt business creep who has a car and minions. I'd make it so that he used to work for a factory that makes sweets but is more concerned about the profits and kept cutting costs but making the sweets worse in quality. Eventually, this collapsed the business and he was ostracized from sweetmakers everywhere. Since then he kept bleeding money till he was poor and had to sell his car before Noir found him and offered him a position because of his greed. He can keep the car and the nendos which can represent his need for luxury and workers who will do everything he says, but give him more of a hate for sweets as the reason for his fall from grace and make him crush some sweets under his boots or spray car exhaust on them because he's petty.
- Diable- Another weird one. Its just a weird shadow ghost dog. No big story there. I think the fact that they're animal sweets is maybe played around with this fact but they never really touched much on it. Maybe its like... Its the collective hunger of the harsh animals in the forest given form? Either way, not a lot to be said about this one aside from polishing what they ARE. I did think it was cute they got reincarnated as a puppy tho.
- Noir- So Noir is the big bad who is also not a big bad? It's a very weird dynamic for sure and his motives don't make a lick of sense. I'd rewrite him as a tragic figure who has seen the horrors of war as he is already a soldier. Maybe after Lumiere rescued him, he attempted to help her comfort the people around the shop by assisting her and taking care of others. But his heart was filled with only hate and guilt and suffering and frustration from his battles and not being able to bake well (which parallels a bit with Pikario) that he only ruined the sweets and sucked the Kirakirarun out of them. He would see himself as a being who only took instead of giving like Lumiere does and the darkness inside of him would cloud his judgement. The inner darkness would keep collecting and corrupt his inner kirakirarun and no matter how much Lumiere would try to reach into his heart with her treats, his suffering and pain would only further absorb and corrupt the energy. So it would be like he's constantly hungry for the comfort of sweets but can never feel it because he allows his newfound selfishness and hopeless views of the world to win out, like a form of PTSD. Thus he would seek to suck kirakirarun from all the world in order to fill the emptiness in his soul.
- Elisio- I liked the idea that Elisio was like a dark part of Noir given form but the execution as a villain left a lot to be desired. He's looks like a pâtissier, but his powers are cards? And he also took a step back and just became "the villain who combines random objects together". Why not just have an evil whisk that mixes corrupted treat monsters? He is also born from like... a corrupted cupcake? I like the corrupted cupcake angle, but with the rewritten Noir, make it so that the dark energy within him accumulated so much that his heart had to vent out a bunch of it and it became Elisio. Elisio is like... a representation of his futility in redeeming himself, which is why he mixes up evil dessert monsters because they represent Noir's self-hate for destroying desserts instead of creating. Maybe the whisk can harden stolen kirakirarun much like how the girls can shape it like clay and he can make hard crystal weapons like a lance or a sword out of his corruption whisk. He can still absorb both Lumiere and Noir in the latter half as well, but he mixes them up into his whisk and consumes them like a dessert, but evilly. It seems his goal is a perfect utopia of emotionlessness, which I still like as an angle but maybe method is focused on absorbing all the Kirakirarun and corrupt it all in one go instead, using it to transform and create the perfect earth just like the girls did to form up the kirapati. This would also allow him to hide his plan from Noir while still pretending to comply with his wishes to fill his empty heart.

I believe Melina lies about forgetting her purpose, as there are numerous inconsistencies in her statements throughout the game. For example, she initially says that seeking the Elden Ring involves violating the Golden Order, but then she takes us to the Round Table, where the Two Fingers instruct us to restore that very order. She claims not to know her purpose but already knows we should oppose the Order, which we do by burning the Erdtree—a task she helps us accomplish by enabling us to pass the thorns after she discover the purpose. The inconsistencies don’t stop there. Consider the famous issue of “what it means to be born of a mother”... Both Melina and Millicent head towards the tree where their mother is, but upon reaching Elphael, Millicent reveals that she is actually a blood relative of Malenia, while Melina never explicitly states who her mother is, if she even has one. In my opinion, the Iranian operation here is more complex, impactful and multimodal than the Russian operation (and similar operations such as say Doppelganger), and should be viewed as more successful.
We often tend to view Russian activity as being sophisticated, at least comparatively. This is in part to our perspective that running domains and domain-based infrastructure for operations is a sign of operator skill, arguably similarly to the CTI space.
In practice, domains are a serious issue for operators. They’re easy to misconfigure, are prone to OpSec breaches, and are hard to promote online, necessitating external assets for dissemination and amplification.
An analogy for this would be the decline of the dark web and the rise of messaging applications, including Telegram and others. This is due to the inherent advantages of utilizing messaging applications over domains (clear or onion):
What I do think we’ll see is a transition to messaging application groups and channels replacing in many cases domains as the central or key entity, as they already can replace most of their relevant functions.

I couldn’t help but write down some thoughts:
- These two networks are both emblematic of the general approaches and TTPs often attributed to their patrons. Russian operations often utilize domains whereas Iranian activity often exploits messaging groups and channels - not to say that this is the case universally by any means.
- The Russian operation was RIFE with OpSec breaches, in comparison to the Iranian one which had far fewer. These breaches emanated primarily from the network’s domains.
- Gen AI is used by both, but the Russian network utilizes it more frequently and apparently more frequently for text.
- The Russian operation had little authentic engagement at the beginning, but as the report states it’s begun to garner real engagement by posting higher-quality, targeted content.
- The Iranians managed to get some real engagement from Israelis on social media, if a small amount. Thus, the Iranian operation is arguably more impactful than the Russian despite having a lower level of operator investment in the network as a whole (at least at the domain level).
- This can be credited to an apparently better understanding of the target society and its culture and politics, and in my opinion and most importantly - the choice of using messaging applications. Israelis love WhatsApp, and Telegram has grown greatly in popularity in past years.
- Creative uses of third-party services, such as crowdsourcing information via Google Forms and others, provide an additional added-value element here of data collection. Potential targeting in the future based on this data would also be much easier, and in practice lead much more easily to real-world impact via organizing protests, holding flags and so on.

- Groups and channels can serve as multimodal file repositories for seeding and other activity at a large scale.
- Telegram in particular is a technical marvel in this regard. - Extract it and open the folder.
- Find steam_api64.dll file in there. Copy and paste it into the same folder where you saved steam_appid.txt and steam_emu.ini
- Install Elden Ring. IMPORTANT! When you install the game make sure to have proper directory, otherwise ModEngine won’t work. It should be like this ELDEN RING/Game. Doesn’t matter where you choose to install it, but make sure the last 2 folders are ELDEN RING and inside it, Game folder. All the game files should be in here. For example mine is this: D:/Games/ELDEN RING/Game/
- After installing Elden Ring open ELDEN RING/Game folder. Now, copy and paste steam_appid.txt, steam_emu.ini and steam_api64.dll that you downloaded in step 2) and 3).
- For Steam players, back up steam_api64.dll before overwriting it. You’ll need this file to revert back to your Steam version of the game. Rename it to .backup Example: steam_api64.dll.backup*. When you want to revert it, just delete .backup*
- In your Game folder also create a .txt file. Name it exactly this: steam_interfaces.txt (nothing needs to be inside it)
- Okay. Eden Ring and Goldberg Emulator is done. Now, download the following 3 Mods:

- Depending on which version of Elden Ring you have, you may need to check the compatibility. Download an older version of Seamless Coop that supports your Elden Ring version.
- First, install Elden Mod Loader. Just need to copy & paste 3 files into your Game folder: mods folder, dinput8.dll and mod_loader_config.ini
- Install Mod Engine 2. Copy and paste it into your Game folder the following files: mod folder, modengine2 folder, config_eldenring.toml, launchmod_eldenring.bat and modengine2_launcher.exe
- Install Seamless Co-OP. Again, copy and paste into your Game folder the following files: SeamlessCoop folder and launch_elden_ring_seamlesscoop.exe
- Important
- First, launch the game using launch_elden_ring_seamlesscoop.exe that you've just put in.
- When the game opens, it should say "Welcome to Seamless Co-op Mod".
- We are going to set up Elden Ring to launch via Mod Engine 2. We can do this by running modengine2_launcher.exe file.
- Make a shortcut for this and move it to you desktop. This will be the new way of launching the game. Change the icon to EldenRing.exe
- We also need to move two of the Seamless Co-op files to your mods folder. Your can find this in your Game folder. *ELDEN RING\Game\mods*#
- Open Seamless Co-Op folder and move seamlesscoopsettings.ini and elden_ring_seamless_coop.dll into mods folder. Important to move the files and not copy paste.
- Whilst you're at it, open seamlesscoopsettings.ini and change your password. The password has to be the same for you and your friends if you want to play together
- Test if seamless is working by launching the game using modengine2_launcher.exe shortcut. You should be greeting again with"Welcome to Seamless Co-Op" message.
- Open your Roaming AppData directory: C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/. Alternatively, press WIN + R, then type %appdata%
- Open Goldberg SteamEmu Saves folder, then settings folder. Edit account_name.txt and change your Username.
- Next, open user_steam_id.txt and change the number slightly for every player. (I just changed the last two digits)
ZeroTier Tutorial:
- Download ZeroTier
- Only the host will need to create an account with ZeroTier to create and manage servers/ networks.
- Create a New Network and join in it via ZeroTier app.
- The Host will need to accept/authorise each player who joined the server via ZeroTier website.
- Once all player have joined and the host has authorised them on the network you can now launch Elden Ring and enjoy Seamless Coop with your friends :)
