I just wanted to share my experience with my d&c surgery I had done today. If anyone is scared to have this procedure done I just want you to know that it was a really great experience for such a shitty situation. I went in to the hospital 2 hours before the procedure. My nurse let me know exactly what her job would be and what she would be doing for me until I get to the OR. My doctor, who performed the surgery, came in and sat with me for a good 20 minutes. She explained to me exactly what she would be doing to me while I was under general anesthesia. We also chatted about my pregnancy history and she just really made me feel good about the d&c I was about to get done. I had never been put under before so I was really scared. I got changed into the hospital gown. A nurse came in and put an i.v in my hand. About an hour later I was being wheeled to the OR. Everyone in the OR were just calm, gentle, caring just made me feel safe and taken care of. I got onto the bed in the OR. They started putting the medicine through my i.v. I told them my hand hurt and that was the last thing I remember. When I woke up I was crying. I told the nurse I didn't know why I was crying, he told me it was normal for people to get weepy when coming out of anesthesia. He asked me some questions like my name, birthday and the month. Then I was wheeled to recovery. They told me I was under for 25 minutes. The procedure took 10 minutes. I was in recovery for about an hour. No pain, minimal bleeding It's been 4 hours now since coming home and I still have no pain, very very very mild cramps, minimal bleeding still. I just felt very cared about and very taken care of the whole time I was in the hospital I really appreciate my care team more then they know. I know all of us on this platform have gone through something traumatic or are still going through it now. I'm really sorry that we are experiencing losses but I'm also very grateful for you all. Stay strong things will get better. In the meantime let yourselves mourn your losses. There's no right or wrong way to grieve. I would recommend a d&c to anyone who asks me if it's an option for you. I really feel it's the least traumatic way to deal with a miscarriage. Thank you all for being here.

2024.05.15 03:17 IamVeryBraves Please help me explain taxes (mainly TCJA) to someone who doesn't seem to understand taxes.

Preface: I'm sorry for making this post. I appreciate any replies and input on this. There is a lot of oversimplification, I too am an idiot and it's two idiots trying to settle an idiotic barroom debate.
The question: Does a person working the same job pay less taxes under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) than he did the year prior to the passing of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act?
His position is that you get less refund at the end of the year so the extra money you get in your monthly paycheck isn't really more money and you end up paying more taxes.
I tried to explain to him that's because of the revised withholding table. So you can't withhold as much and get a big refund at the end of the year. And that refunds isn't free money, refunds are just the return of your withholdings in excess of what you owe.
I also mentioned the change personal exemptions to standard deduction helps the poor since poor people typically underutilize itemized deductions (as they're typically renters with no mortgage and too poor to owe state taxes) and near doubling their deductions not to mention increase for child tax credits lower the amount of taxes they pay.
Anyways, he counters with a comment from a youtube video where an user claims he used to get 3k in refund before TCJA now he owes 5k under TCJA.
I explain A: it's some rando on the internet. B. He forgot to fiddle with his withholdings?
I'm tying to explain to him: It doesn't matter if your paycheck is bigger or smaller, if you work you pay taxes, the size of refund or amount due at the end of the year also doesn't matter. What matters is how much the IRS takes from you and under TCJA they take less than before TCJA for most people, including the poors.
He gave me $10 to make this post so you guys can tell me I'm wrong.
Also bonus: He is under the believe that the benefits and tax breaks that helps the poor in TCJA decreases year over year starting 2018 and has mostly gone away. I tell him that's not true it stays mostly the same until it expires next year. So if you can add a word or two about this part as well I'd really appreciated it.

Really thought I was gonna dislike this skin but the effects actually surprised me. Not as cool as some of his other skins but they’re still good. I do like Dark Fervor slightly more
Exarch - 10/10
There isn’t a single thing I don’t like about this skin. Gun is amazing, voice is fantastic, effects with his abilities are great. They did an absolute great job with this one
Gentleman - 9/10
Another surprisingly good skin. Don’t know what else to say. This skin might have the best sound effect when applying astral marks. Idk why but I love it
Mernos - 9/10
I was expecting to not like this skin cause mermaid skins aren’t my thing but the gun is very good and the voice acting for this skin is top notch. Also his ult voiceline being “step into the tides and drown” is extremely creative
Soul EateSoul Devourer - 100/10
I don’t think there is a single Jenos skin that Hi-Rez can make that will better than these two skins. Gun is amazing, effects are incredible, and again voice acting is through the roof. I like Soul Devourer slightly more cause the black and teal works so well together

2024.05.15 03:16 Sierra419 Should I counter job offer compensation a second time?

I currently make $111k and some change with a 10% bonus. The bonus isn’t guaranteed but has historically paid out. Moving one more rung up the ladder in my department pays $125k-$130k + 20% bonus. Again, the bonus isn’t guaranteed. It could be less, it could be more - it could be nothing at all but, historically, it has averaged a full payout.
My dilemma is that I interviewed for a position one more rung up the ladder within my company but in a different department. They offered me the job but at $117k + 20% bonus. I countered and stated that I was grateful and excited but the salary paid less than what I was expecting for this position and is similar to my current salary. I stated I had expected the salary range to be $125k-$130k. They countered my counter and said that was too high for their department and that amount would put me in an even higher rank’s pay bracket than the job I was upgrading to. They said after careful review they could offer me $117,500 + the original 20% bonus.
What is protocol here? Is it poor taste to counter a second time with further reasoning or should I count my losses and consider this a final offer? I was really hoping to get at least $120k salary. I don’t think their second offer of only $500 more a year was very generous. Would I be splitting hairs if countered a final time with $120k? Do I seem greedy at this point?
My PTO and healthcare are what they are so there’s no other perks to substitute/negotiate.

2024.05.15 03:14 RadioNights Insurance dropping us over this?

We've been in our new home less than a year. It's a well-maintained 17 year old home in Western North Carolina (minimal disaster prospects).
We got a letter today from our insurance (Travelers) stating they were dropping us for the following reasons:
--Dwelling roof has granular loss shingles
--Inground pool has no automatic cover
--Dwellings are required to be insured at 100% of replacement cost. They estimated we were $500k underinsured.
I'm at a loss. The roof is 17 years old, but was inspected a year ago. We knew we needed to replace in a few years due to age, but the inspection report didn't note anything but age.
The pool is mind blowing to me. It is an inground pool surrounded by an aluminum fence. Why on earth do we need an automatic pool cover? (We do have a winter cover)
Our replacement cost was determined by our agent. I suspect they took the sales price - the value of the lot. This is the one thing I concede is probably necessary because I questioned it myself when we bought the policy, but was told our coverage was adequate.
What on earth is going on? We've never filed a claim in 12 years of being homeowners. There wasn't an option to increase coverage or change anything--they just said we would not be renewed in one month.
Anybody else getting letters like these?

2024.05.15 03:13 Tree_Of_Palm A (admittedly flawed) theory about the identity of Madame X, as well as an additional crack theory that I made while sleep deprived. (Spoilers for the entire game)

Ok this is gonna be a very long, rambling, and probably somewhat disorganized post, so please bear with me.
I'm sure other people have had this same idea as well, but I'm not subscribed to the rebornevo forums and I'm not very active on this subreddit either, so I don't know how frequently it's been discussed outside of the small number of times I've seen it on Twitter, which still was after I had the thought when I first played V12 years ago. Even if it is I still wanted to try and organize my thoughts about it and present all of the evidence that brought me to think this even without engaging much with the larger community.
To jump right into it, the theory that I've been subscribing to for a pretty long time and was very confident in (until realizing some flaws with it) is that Madame X is the incarnation of Nymiera from Maria(nette)'s now dead universe, which is likely the same universe that Clear, Kieran, and potentially the Thunder Warrior Tapu Koko are from. She was defeated by her universe's Indriad but somehow managed to escape with her life, albeit badly injured, and was effectively out of commission, which led to Indriad eventually being able to bring about Storm 9 which would eventually lead to the end the world. Nymiera then likely got help from either her world's Xara and Jean, or Clear and Kieran themselves to construct her suit and escape to the next universe.
There's quite a few reasons I have to think this. I feel like a ton of evidence from throughout the game supports the idea, and I've been making note of them for years at this point. This is gonna be a bit meandering, but it's really difficult to organize thoughts about a plot as complicated as Rejuv's even if you're focusing on only one character, so again please bear with me:
Essentially, the image I see with this is a Nymiera who became so disgusted at her own failures that she threw everything away, including her old identity, and and decided the best way to create a good world was to tear everything down and rebuild it herself, taking her belief in "The good of the many" to its furthest extreme and becoming a vengeful and bitter person in the process. She keeps "protecting" the Interceptor in hopes that their own quest will eventually guide them to resetting everything and destroying Karma for good.
However... in the process of thinking through this all over the last couple days, I realized several holes in this theory that I have to acknowledge, and keep it from really being an effective one.
First, if Nymiera is the avatar of Xerneas, then why is Madame X only ever seen using a Yveltal?
Second, the one aspect of Madame X's backstory story that she elected to reveal to us is about her mother. In her own words, "My "mother" was a weak individual who gave her life to protect me". Not only does Nymiera never hint at anything remotely similar this, but none of Adrest, Variya, or any of the files Adrest sends to Erin hint at anything even remotely close to this for Nymiera.
Third, which I think is the biggest issue: when we see Madame X's mask get broken by Sakitron at the pyramid, what little we see of her appearance doesn't exactly match up with Nymiera. What appears to be black hair could also just be a broken piece of her mask, her eyes are a bright red, and even though we barely see any skin, it visibly is not as dark as Nymiera's.
The first point is actually pretty easy to explain: the Yveltal is Indriad. Obviously we don't know how Indriad became a Yveltal, but there is precedent for shit like this happening and there's multiple hints towards it:
The other two though... I think more or less disprove the theory. Family-related trauma is already one of the game's biggest theme; if Nymiera had something related to her mother, it would have been made clear by this point. And there's just no way that I can think of to really justify the drastic difference in appearance between the two. I could simply handwave it and say "The differences in appearance are either a spriting error or a lighting thing with her helmet" and "We just haven't learned about Nymiera's mother yet", but both of those would just be copout answers to ignore.
I'm still confident that I'm onto something here and there is a connection between these two characters,
...so instead I came up with a crackpot theory that nonetheless I think has a nonzero chance of being true, although its much less liekly .
Madame X isn't an alternate universe Nymiera. She's an alternate universe Nim.
Is it a stupid assertion? Yes. But hear me out, starting with some of the more minor points:
There's three main reasons I think there actually is something here though: Nim's physical appearance, Madame X's "mother", and the reason Madame X needs her suit despite it making her weaker.
First: Nim's physical appearance is extremely similar to Madame X's under her mask. As Lorna, we can see that her pupils have a red hue very similar to Madame X's. Looking at both Nim's sprites and her official art, her skin tone is lighter than Nymiera's but still darker then most of the rest of the cast, which also lines up with the broken mask. Finally, assuming Madame X actually has black hair and that's not just a broken part of her mask in the sprite, Nim's hair is the same color.
Second: When Madame X mentions her "Mother", its quoted, presumably for air quotes. While it could just be her disrespecting her "Mother", it feels far more significant than that, like its moreso implying that whoever she's talking about wasn't her mother in the traditional sense. Madame X also states that the difference between her "Mother"'s sacrifice and the player's mom's sacrifice is that the player's mom's didn't matter; thus indirectly implying that Madame X's mom's sacrifice was important even if she looks down upon her mom for it. Assuming that Nymiera shares some connection to Nim- be it that Nymiera created her, Nim is her reincarnation, or something else- it's not unreasonable to think that Nim, after overcoming her memory issues, could view Nymiera as something of a mother figure, especially considering that Nim took her name Nymiera's because she felt a connection.
Third: The suit. There's a very obvious reason that Nim would need a suit to suppress her own power: to keep herself from draining the life force of her subordinates and stop her own Storm from getting out of control. It's a leap, sure, but it would explain why she needs a suit that actively inhibits her.
Why would Nim be doing all of this, and how would she become such a cruel and vengeful person? We see something similar happen to our own Nim through Clear's manipulation through preying on her fears and insecurities. Assuming bad enough shit happened to her, I could absolutely see an alternate universe Nim who lacked the support of characters like Aelita, Melia, and the Player going down this path.
Is this theory accurate? Probably not, but it was really fun to think about. I never fucking know what's gonna happen with this game which is why it's so fun to speculate about the absolute mess of lore that it has.

Context: my boss that hired me made a play for director under threat of departure and won, insisted on a reorg. That reorg created two new assistant directors and a new director out of a much bigger department. He resigned last October.
I ended up reporting to the erratic CEO. It didn’t play out well. He wanted me to do unethical things in violation of my professional certification which has a code of ethics. I thought I gently stood my ground, but ultimately was forced to resign my position under duress. The letter of resignation they forced me to sign, had a different title for my position. When I asked them about that, they insisted my actual title that I was hired under did not exist. Apparently they never officially created a new classification for my position during the reorg. So the official title of my classification was assistant Director of A, B and c. But I never managed anything related to C. The title that was advertised, and which was offered to me, was assistant director of A and B. Now I am job hunting and I’m afraid I’m getting bumped out of consideration due to this discrepancy. I’ve been on 10-15 interviews where I’ve had promising interviews that go completely dry. Could this be the problem? If so, should I add a bullet to clarify on my resume? Address in the interview? Unfortunately, I have 10+ resumes out right now before I made this connection.

Hello All,
Just joined the group and this is my first Q... any help or point in the right direction would be a greatly appreciated.
I just started working on pipelines and I am trying to change the build output of the pipeline to match what I have in VS which is set to 'Minimal'.
Currently I am getting 100+ warnings when I run the pipeline which I dont need.
I have read many things online regarding buildArguments, verbosityPack: Minimal & verbosityRestore: Minimal etc... as well as being setthrough the UI (instead of yaml)
but I just cant figure it out.... Can anyone tell me how I can change the verbosity level to minimal on the below yaml file please?? as currently im pretty sure it is set to detailed as im getting alot more than I need, thank you for any replies

Beware the commercial lighting scam
Last Monday I was paged on line 1 and received an incoming call from this company above. They stated they used to sell bulbs and lighting supply to the recently retired head of maintenance. I stated I wasn't interested in any bulbs, since I've just converted all the high bay fixtures to led with a 7 year warranty.
They said ok well thanks for your time. They also said they wanted to send me a free 45quart cooler, some can coozies and a new catalog for the time being incase I changed my mind. Since we've been a good customer from years past. They wanted to confirm the business address ........ I said sounded good to me. A week goes by I get a page from the secretary saying my bulbs have arrived. I'm thinking wtf I didn't order anything. They shipped me a box of 12 (4ft)led bulbs for office lighting. I said screw it and put them in the office closet for the time being. Thinking I'll just use them for when the office fluorescent bulbs start burning up.
Today I get an invoice in with a bill for 579$ and some change for the dozen bulbs. I get the bosslady on the phone explain wtf just happened . After looking up the company and reading the reviews they pull this scam for a living to big companies hoping it slips threw the cracks and they make easy money. Just thought I'd share this considering it could easily cost a fellow maintenance worker their job. We will be sending their bulbs back in the morning with a nice letter.

  • Land access agreement reached: The Company finalized a land access agreement for the use of 600 hectares of land adjacent to the Project in March 2024, which will be used for the access road to the mine as well as for water storage. The agreement was reached with Ejido Cordero, a local land cooperative, and is part of the Company’s ongoing efforts to advance and de-risk the Cordero project.
  • Increase in silver prices: Spot silver prices have increased close to 20% year to date in 2024 (as of May 13, 2024) to US$28.39 per ounce. Higher silver prices largely reflected continued strong market fundamentals, with the Silver Institute 4 projecting a market deficit in 2024 of over 200 million ounces, the fourth consecutive year of market deficits and the second highest deficit in over 20 years. According to the Silver Institute, market deficits are being driven by record levels of industrial demand for silver, largely related to the use of silver in electric vehicles, solar panels and other forms of green energy, as well as the emerging use of silver in many artificial intelligence applications. Mine production of silver declined by 1% in 2023, with another slight reduction expected in 2024.

While there is no standardized meaning of the measure across the industry, the Company believes that this measure is useful to external users in assessing operating performance.
ALL-IN SUSTAINING COSTS
The Company has provided an all-in sustaining costs performance measure that reflects all the expenditures that are required to produce an ounce of silver from operations. While there is no standardized meaning of the measure across the industry, the Company’s definition conforms to the all-in sustaining cost definition as set out by the World Gold Council in its updated Guidance Note issued in 2018. Gentlemen,
There is an odor most foul in the Bakehouse. It is the stench of the fish rotting from the head.
To our proprietor Steve, and our managers Bryan and Patrick:
There is dissension within the ranks, and if the following items are not resolved as we outline
below, we’re prepared to drag this house of cards to the ground.
Before we proceed with our grievances, numerous and shocking, and the demands to resolve
them; allow us a moment for introductions.
We, are the Ghosts of Gideons, the poor and unfortunate souls upon whom you have built your
cookie empire. We are the many, the unseen, and as of the disastrous meeting May 6th, 2024, the
decidedly unheard.
Many of us have approached management and ownership multiple times with helpful hints,
strong suggestions, and desperate pleas to rectify a myriad of health, safety and operational
concerns- with nearly all of them being dismissed or ignored entirely.
Now, we, the collective, have banded together to deliver this tome- not as a warning of what is to
come, but as a final demand to resolve the issues outlined herein. You may dismiss us
individually, but you cannot ignore all of us together.
Make no mistake, if the following solutions are not implemented with immediate effect, we will
do everything in our power to topple this cookie castle permanently.
We should start by informing you, that, yes- we are but lowly workers for Gideons, however, we
are supported by families who hold prominent positions in the community as lawyers, labor

representatives, publicists, and county government workers. Families who love us, and want to
see us remain safely and fairly employed.
Through our vast, and well connected network the following steps have already been
implemented:
1) A lawsuit for your numerous unfair and unsafe labor practices and work conditions has
been drafted.
2) A press release, along with a copy of this letter, have been sent to local and national
media.
3) We have created social channels to connect directly with customers and inform them of
the reprehensible work conditions we are enduring.
4) We have filed health and safety reports with local government bodies detailing the
extensive issues we are faced with at the Springs location.
5) We have informed Disney Springs leadership of our position relating to the above, and
below in this letter.
In all cases, these competent bodies are awaiting our word. If the demands listed herein are not
satisfied immediately, we will, in tandem with the above, begin a campaign to inform the world
of your numerous transgressions, filing lawsuits and media coverages exposing you and the
Company for the shill that it is, and we will not stop until the Bakehouse bakes no more.
We should also mention that should any attempt be made to retaliate against us, including
termination, reducing our hours, benefits, or taking other pervasive actions against any Gideons
employee, will promptly result in our bringing legal class-action.
The time has come for you, our leaders, to actually lead. This means spending money where
money must be spent, and making the following operational changes, so that we can all continue
to exist in harmony, and not feel like we’re trapped on an 1800’s plantation- working for the big
house.
1) Communication- How dare you drag the entire workforce to a 9AM meeting,
demanding our presence, and then talk directly at us with the most mundane drivel we’ve
ever heard. Everything dictated today could have been very well sent as an email-
especially when you did not allow for any discussion between us, the workers who
actually make your business run, and the disconnected upper-management who are hell
bent on implementing misguided and inefficient policies. Do not call us in for a
mandatory meeting again when the points can be covered in an email, unless you intend
to open the floor for actual conversation and listen to what we have to say.

To that end, since our voices were silenced this morning, we demand the following:
● Cold Brew- We will not adopt the ‘bartender’ shaking style of preparing the cold
brew drinks. When we have 10+ beverages queuing to be made, shaking each
drink 10 times will severely impact our ability to be efficient. This is but one
example of Steve’s desire to have ‘form over function’. We understand there may
be a ‘look’ you’re going for, but when it compromises our ability to efficiently
perform our function, we refuse. We demand to be allowed to resume our ‘stir
stick’ preparation immediately.
● Point System/ Order Accuracy- Under no circumstance should Management take
the side of the Guest over the word of the employee. Too often we see guests
complain that an order was incorrect, and Management issues a point to an
employee. This must stop immediately. We demand you implement a ‘please
check your screen for order accuracy’ procedure where the guest confirms their
order before they pay, and remove the ‘point’ system. If the guest confirms the
order, it reduces the possibility for an inaccurate order.
● Inconsistent/ Inaccurate menu boards and Social Postings- The inside Menu
Board has been outdated for nearly two years. It must be updated immediately to
remove items we no longer sell (IE Coke Products) and ingredient offerings (IE
Banana WALNUT). By correctly labeling the items, it reduces the stress on us in
having to confirm that certain items have nuts, or not being yelled at by guests
who are disgruntled that we no longer sell Coke products. Further, there are
multiple social media inaccuracies when describing new products (IE peanut
butter buttercream, VS the actual peanut butter cream cheese). These inaccurate
product descriptions hurt the brand, and cause confusion with the guests when
they come to order these products. Also the new umbrellas are not UV resistant;
therefore any mention of them ‘protecting you from the sun’ is false, and may
result in legal action from guests. We demand you only post accurate descriptions
to the website/ social media to avoid further guest/ employee confrontation.
● HR- Given the fact that Cynthia engaged in using racial slurs during the May 6th
meeting, referring to guests as gypsies and hoodlums, we demand her firing and
removal immediately. Multiple members of staff were deeply offended by the
hurtful stereotypes that Cynthia perpetuated, and we no longer have any trust in
her ability to lead this organization, especially from a HR perspective, when she
herself seems to harbor unfair and demeaning racial views.
● Management- We cannot express with limited words the level of dissatisfaction
we maintain for Drew. The staff, in our entirety, have never dealt with such
incompetent, slothful, and wasteful behavior. Drew consistently stays on his
phone, refusing to help the team accomplish any of their tasks, and barely exudes
a modicum of effort through his rare action of helping build cake boxes or taking
out trash before disembarking on a break (which none us other managers/leads are

cookie king, bringing in circa $40,000 per day, affording you a life of luxury, and not
fairly compensate the employees that are making Gideons everything that it is. The
cookies are good, but make no mistake, as was stated during the May 6th meeting, the
customers come for us. I can’t imagine what they’ll say when they learn about the
slave-like conditions in which we work, especially with Auntie Anne’s earning $18 per
hour + tips.
3) Hours- Part time is up to 30 hours per week, full time is 30 hours or more. We must have
a guaranteed number of hours per week, pending our availability. For example, if a
full-time employee has open availability, they must be scheduled for 40 hours. If a
part-time person has open availability, they must be scheduled for up to 30 hours per
week. This is to ensure we have a stable and uniform weekly income, guaranteed by our
base pay and consistent hours.
4) On Call- All shifts that are ‘on- call’ must be guaranteed a full 8 hour shift, regardless if
the employee is called into work or not. We clear our day and make ourselves available to
cover the Company, and we demand to be compensated a full 8 hours ($16 per hour) for
the flexibility to suit the Company’s needs.
5) Pay Protection- In the event that the store is closed for any reason, employees currently
scheduled to be working during the closure must receive all payment for the shifts they
were scheduled for. If the AC goes out again, and we’re down for several days, those of
us scheduled must receive full compensation for shifts as scheduled.
3) Health & Safety- While it seems that Gideon’s is based primarily on the ‘cool factor’ in how
our processes look from a customer perspective, we are still a fully functioning kitchen and retail
location with a haphazard health and safety process, at best.
To ensure a properly safe workplace and customer experience, we demand the following changes
immediately:
1) Shorts/ Heat Safety Prevention- We’ve been told time and time again that the ‘Disney
Contract’ we cannot wear shorts. After having multiple conversations with Disney
Springs leadership and the Unite Here 362 representatives, we have come to understand
that a change in uniform can be initiated by amendment. No longer can the ‘look’ of
something overpower the safety of us. In terms of being outside in the sunlight and heat,
we demand that the contract be amended immediately to account for a uniform change,
thus allowing us to wear shorts within the next five days. It is dangerous for us to be
outside in the heat and sunlight during high-heat (more than 70 degrees fahrenheit) days,
wearing all black and long pants. We are unwilling to compromise our personal health
and safety to appease your ‘style guide’ insisting on long pants, but we’re happy to
maintain a look via style guide for shorts. In addition, we have seen multiple large/
battery operated fans in use around Disney property, keeping other Cast cool during these
heat waves. We demand that large fans are procured and placed in strategic outside

locations within the next 5 days, so that we may have respite during high temp days. The
cooling towels and neck fans you have provided are ineffective.
2) Egress- We bakers are trapped. There is no second means of fire egress from the kitchen,
and should a fire or other disaster occur with the ovens, we would be trapped and unable
to escape. We demand you add in additional egress from the bakery, into the outside
alley. We understand this will require planning and stairs, however, planning must be
commenced immediately. We will not work in an unsafe environment, and with no place
to escape in the event of an emergency, we will be burned alive.
3) Handicap accessibility- Our retail location does not comply with ADA mobility
standards. The counters must be moved to allow an employee who utilizes a wheelchair
or other mobility device the proper space to move behind the counters and throughout the
kitchen. While yes, a wheelchair will ‘fit’, they will be unable to properly move. We are
discriminating against hiring ADA employees due to the way the store is currently
overcrowded and built. We demand proper spacing be added within the next 90 days.
4) Safety Training & Procedures- As of right now Operations have not developed any safety
or training procedures relating to fire, bomb threat, active shooter, lighting/ rain, accident
or other hazard. We are provided with no training in the event of any of these
emergencies, and we are all woefully unprepared with a common knowledge of how to
address emergency situations. We demand that a safety plan be developed and provided
to each of us in writing, and that we receive sufficient training of the new procedures
within 14 days.
5) Sanitation- Our baking sheets never get cleaned. We demand that you hire an outside
vendor to pick up used equipment nightly at close, and deliver a clean set at the same
time, so that we may rotate clean equipment daily. It is too large a task for us to wash in
house, and this needs to be automated for us. Our current sanitation procedure is
inadequate to ensure proper health and safety standards.
6) Bathroom breaks- Many of us suffer from various biological disabilities that force
frequent trips to the restroom. We simply cannot ‘hold it’ until we’re on break. IF we
need to go to the restroom, we must be immediately accommodated to do so without
repercussions. While this is not common, it does happen, and must be allowed.

Demand Timeline:
May 11th- Cold Brew BartendeShaking preparation is disbanded, stir stick preparation is
reimplemented.
May 11th- Cynthia is terminated immediately for using racial slurs during a company meeting.
May 11th- Drew is demoted as manager immediately for failure to act as a leader, and help his
team, undergoing an immense retraining before he is reinstated.
May 12th- All employees earn a base rate of $16 + tip share.
May 12th- An automatic/ mandatory 7.5% gratuity is placed on all guest orders.
May 12th- All ‘on call’ shifts will be guaranteed a full 8 hours ($16 p/h), regardless of working
or not.
May 12th- Lead/ Trainer pay to increase to at least $19 per hour when training, and $18 per hour
at all other times + tip share.
May 11th- Planning for additional egress to begin. Must be fully installed and operational no
later than June 20th, 2024.
May 17th- A $1,200 bonus is paid to all employees who worked during the last three pay
periods. This bonus covers the lower wages suffered from the ‘no tip’ asking policy.
May 13th- Schedules to be created, guaranteeing all ‘part-time’ employees up to 30 hours per
week based on employee availability, and ‘full-time’ employees at least 40 hours per week,
based on employee availability.
May 14th- Commercial grade fans outside submitted for approval to Disney, installed upon
approval.
May 15th- Shorts implemented for all workers, all shifts, when the outside temperature is more
than 70 degrees fahrenheit.
May 14th- Sanitation company must be contracted to pick up used baking sheets nightly, and a
second set of baking sheets to be procured to ensure sufficient sanitation of products in direct
contact with food.
May 24th- All health & safety procedures will be drafted and provided to all employees in
writing, with in-person training to occur with all employees. New hires shall receive the new
procedures and same in person training as a part of their onboarding.
August 4th- Handicap/ADA compliance. The store and kitchen must be rearranged/ decluttered
to allow for the hiring of mobility device users, including wheelchairs, to comply with ADA
layout requirements.

While the above demands only scratch a portion of the hazardous operational procedures, we are
confident that should they all be addressed and the solutions we have demanded are implemented

Honestly, this sub got super dark for a while and was constantly complaining about the state of the world for ux and how bleak jobs were and layoffs. It was starting to really get to me so I took a break and it was much needed. I recommend it if you’re feeling similar to just take a break from the negativity.
Came back and in happy to see that things have changed a bit (or maybe I’m more resilient). I also got a new role that is so much better than where I was and am feeling really optimistic about the industry again.
Will report back when I have to leave (job and sub) once more due to soul crushing UX realities. For now it’s not all bad ok??? There’s and abduanxe of good jobs, companies, designers and everyone is ok. Ok???

2024.05.15 03:00 Just4Ranting3030 IMHO- TWD is consistent through S10 Ep 16- then....

This won't actually go into specifics of the plot or characters, so no real spoilers, but I've been re-watching the entire series for the first time- I made it through season 3 or so when it debuted, abandoned it forever, came back to it like a month ago and I am now on Season 10 Episode 18 and counting....
There's been a lot of debate around here about if/when the series jumps the shark, is at its best or it worst, etc. and although it has some stronger moments and some weaker moments- occasionally some awkward dialogue or some poorly justified and basically incomprehensible changes in an otherwise consistent character, etc. I thought the quality of it remained basically steady from Pilot through Season 10 Episode 16- and then COVID hit and they added 6 extra episodes to Season 10 and tried to bridge it to the final season to properly conclude the whole story.... and you can tell they're filler episodes and you can tell its a COVID Protocol Production.
I've read up on it and I am unclear why they added six episodes when Episode 16 was supposed to effectively be the season finale, if not potentially the Series Finale? And then COVID hits, they add six episodes and... again, you can tell they're shot for COVID protocols, you can tell they're spinning their wheels- ultimately as a viewer I don't mind. The crew got money, which is always a good thing.
But yeah- seems like it'll pick up decently enough in Season 11 and conclude on an alright note?
Anybody else feel this way? I keep reading that people think Seasons 9 post-Rick and beyond are considered the weakest by many fans, but I felt like the quality remained the same and I personally didn't miss Rick. I felt like Michonne and Daryl, etc. picked it up nicely as the leads and even after Michonne took her leave, Daryl and Carol and Co did a good job of picking up the Lead Character Energy and providing a solid core/anchor for the show's abundant supporting cast.
I am still 5 episodes away from the conclusion of Season 10 and 24 episodes away from the conclusion of Season 11/the entire series, so I have no idea how it goes from here, but it seems like apart from unplanned 'bonus' episodes/COVID restriction era episodes, I imagine the series will regain form and I'd consider it successfully consistent through its entire run, even as it gained and lost characters.

Alright, this might be a long one due to my current emotional state. I found out today I’m being non renewed. I’m a first year English teacher. My boss explained it’s due to budget cuts, and she was having to let multiple people go. She gave me the option of resigning or letting my contract run out. She told me it might look better if I resign, since I’m a first year teacher. What do ya’ll think would be the best? I’m just worried about finances here. I hear some teachers can apply for unemployment, but that might vary state to state.
This year has been crazy. I have struggled with whether teaching is for me or not. I don’t know how to feel about this. This year has been tough because I was figuring out my teaching style and how to do things. I feel like if I was given a second chance here, I really could have done it. Now, I don’t know whether to apply for other teaching jobs or take this as a blessing in disguise and run.
My boss said they would write me a letter of recommendation and that my observation scores are all average or where they expect a first year teacher to be. They also mentioned that they think I would be better suited for the high school level than middle school based on the way I teach. I’m not sure how to take that statement.
All I know is that I have to survive a field trip tomorrow and a ceremony afterwards. I have to pretend to be okay because it’s not fair to the students. All I want to do is lick my wounds, but I owe it to the kids I’ve worked with all year to be there.

On May 12th, 2024, I sent an email to my Human Resources manager with a CC to my Senior Operations Manager to complain about workplace bullying and harassment that was interfering with my work performance and business sales.
I was asked to provide further details, which I provided in a separate email.
Upon working on May 13th, 2024, I was subjected to more bullying and harassment by my coworkers who were informed of my email and complaints via what I overheard someone admitting was our senior operations manager.
I messaged my HR department after my shift, seeking clarification as to why the harassment not only intensified because of my email but why my confidentiality was broken.
I was informed that my senior operations manager is not HR trained and that an investigation would take place.
On May 13th, 2024, I had a phone conversation with my HR manager to discuss the harassment and bullying I had received while working my shift on May 12th, 2024, and my safety concerns with the broken camera in the location of the incidents occurring. Side note: The knowledge of the broken cameras has been known for 2.5 months since they were unable to obtain footage from the same location when my personal belongings were stolen. In this conversation, I informed my HR manager of comments and jokes that were said to me by multiple coworkers, alluding to the information and details I had sent to HR the night before. I documented these comments in my notes app as they were said throughout the night.
On May 14th, 2024, I was informed via email that my scheduled shifts for May 15th and 16th had been deleted, and that I was being offered a temporary change of job description with their remote call center, and that they will match the hours that I am normally scheduled for a $15 role. This would be equivalent to a 2/3 pay cut in my hourly wages and is a position that requires me to have a computer and access to the internet, which I do not have, so they offered to provide.
The exact reason I was given for the schedule change and job title change was that "it does not seem safe for you to be on-site until we are able to conduct a proper investigation, determine the course of action, and implement changes and recourse needed to ensure that you are able to work without interruption or retaliation." However, I was also told that I will be "in touch" for the rest of my week's hours until interviews for the investigation take place, and that in the meantime the ownership is in contact with someone to fix the cameras with no confirmation on a timeline.
My mental health is being heavily affected as fear of retaliation is brewing and I have not had luck submitting a claim with EEOC as I do not have a computer or internet access, and the site keeps crashing on my phone. What do I do now?

Hi, I've been an MC user for about 8 months now, and it's changed my life. Up until recently I've been able to be mobile and pain free after years of limited mobility and constant low level pain. But ... the recent floods in Vic destroyed most of the tracks I need to drive over in the tractor every day, all day. This has caused inflammation in my back and hip to the point where I can no longer walk to the toilet and back (about 20 steps each way) without needing to sit or lie down for 20 minutes or so. I can't work at all atm. I've seen my gp (had ultrasound and ct scans) and have cortisone jabs scheduled in two weeks time, which should help (it has before), but I'm maxed out on all my mc scripts (that is, full daily dose), panadol and panadeine forte are not doing the job and I'm using them all in combination.
I'm 63 and these are degenerative issues. I currently have scripts for cbd & thc oils, and 22% flower. I'm not at my daily recommended dose for flower and I'm already pretty much non functional.
So I'm looking for any and all advice that might help reduce the pain until I can get the jabs please.

So disclaimer this is everything my roommate did when she lived with me from my perspective. Also this is a really long story because a lot happened, and I do tend to get sidetracked.
Before we became roommates, I had a situationship with this guy. Let’s call him John. John and I met in our first semester of college and hit it off right off the bat. John was a mutual friend of me and my psychotic roommate, which is how we were introduced. Let’s call her Shortstack. So Shortstack knew I had a thing for John, and was encouraging us to start a relationship which I thought was nice. Eventually, though, when there was a lull in our relationship she admitted to liking John, and I backed off because it was looking like a relationship between me and John wasn’t gonna happen. I did my best to subtly wingman and they ended up dating.
Right before they made it official, I had met someone new. We’ll call him Tim (I’m trying to use generic/default guy names to keep some anonymity). Tim and I hit it off right off the bat. He’s honestly the most genuine, talented, thoughtful, and interesting guy I’ve ever met. Anyway, right before John and Shortstack started dating, I got a text from Shortstack saying she had the hots for Tim and asked if I he was free game. I was a bit bothered by that, but she respected my answer when I politely told her that Tim and I had something good and I didn’t want anyone interfering. At least, I THOUGHT she respected my answer.
Almost a year later and I had asked Shortstack if she wanted to be my roommate so we could both live near school while not having to live on campus. Worst decision ever.
She moved in before I did, and when it was my turn to move in the place was an absolute disaster. Dirty clothes and empty Dominos boxes covered the floor. She had also set up her decorations all over the entire apartment (not really leaving any room for me, which was made worse by the fact that we shared a room, and the apartment was very tiny so we were basically living on top of each other). I brushed it off, but it never really got any better. Normally I wouldn’t be too upset, I’m not a huge neat freak or anything, but it peeved me that she would always point out any mess that I had made.
Here’s a list of some of her really gross habits: dirty underwear everywhere kept old dominos boxes everywhere would buy salads and let them expire and they would sit there until I took them out Refused to do any chores or contribute in any way our shower didn’t fully drain so hair was often left in the tub, but she never cleaned up after herself (meaning I was scrubbing her pubes out of the tub) Used tissues would be left on the ground Not flushing I never once saw her do laundry in the 6 months we lived together
I’m sure there’s more but these are just the ones that I remember. To be fair, here were my gross she took issue with: Leaving dishes in the sink for a long-ass time Letting my laundry basket overflow Walking around in a towel after I took a shower, even when her tinder dates were over (mostly cuz I didn’t give a shit and everything was covered, but I also understand that her glares when I would do that were a little deserved).
That was the easiest part of living with her that I had to deal with. It got so so so much worse, and slowly she started to reveal her true colours.
She had a job at a jewelry store, got fired. Moved to a job at a grocery store across the street, got fired. Bummed around for a few weeks, mostly just sitting on the couch doing arts and crafts. Tried a Zumba class, quit after 2 sessions. Finally she got hired at a movie theatre, but she would only work Friday and weekends. All the while a lot of new things were appearing in our apartment. New makeup, a makeup chair, a tiny plastic Dreamhouse, posters and picture frames, lights, you name it. She was also buying premade meals and continued to order Dominos and DoorDash, never making her own food.
That’s around the time I found a buried letter from our landlord saying she was 2 months behind on rent. (Also an honorable mention about her RGB lights, she would keep them on while I was trying to sleep, even when I had work in the morning which was most days and she’d throw a little hissy fit whenever I asked her to turn them off because it was midnight and I had to get up in a couple hours).
She would constantly be having guys over, but would never tell me, so I’d always come home to a stranger on our couch and I’d uncomfortably lock myself in our room. Walls were thin so I had to listen to her awful flirting and occasionally kissing noises. She had made a goal for herself to kiss at least 30 guys so she could write a book about it, one chapter for each guy. It’s funny because the book is coming out soon, I’m not gonna share the name because I don’t wanna promote an incel’s diary but if you happen to be one of the guys she wrote about, just know that she has said several times her type is “Generic kinda ugly white guys.” I don’t think that’s her type, I think she just says that because all of the super attractive guys she went after all shot her down so quick.
While she’s collecting “ugly-ish white guys” (her words), she has promised herself to some dude in the military overseas who has a ring with their initials carved into it (his name is Matt. I’m not censoring that because I genuinely hope he sees this even though chances are insanely slim. She’s Jodie-ing you my guy, and she wants to elope and marry you to piss her parents off and for financial benefits because she can’t keep a job).
ONTOP of all this, Tim (who at this point I had been with for over a year) would come over and visit sometimes. She was always miserable, but perked up and suddenly became so sweet and friendly whenever he was there. Tim kept trying to drop some social cues that he did not want to talk to her, but she ignored it. I also want to mention that Tim is incredibly attractive, physically and personality wise, which is the main reason I think that “ugly” isn’t actually her type, it’s just all she can get.
Oh quick mention one of her tinder guys was 17. She was close to 20 at the time. She said their age gap made her uncomfortable but she invited him over because she wanted to, and I quote, “lick his abs.” Take that as you will.
My breaking point with her was when I woke up one day with a random man in the room sleeping next to her. She let a random man from tinder have full unsupervised access to 2 unconscious girls and all of their valuable items. There’s more stuff she did but this is already super long so I’m going to leave it on this note. Let me know if you guys wanna hear the rest.

I have 3 YOE of experience as a SDE, post which I got my Masters degree. I started working with a semiconductor company but the role is not entirely SDE work. I don't see much potential for growth here and I've been actively applying to jobs, using referrals and reaching out to the hiring team whenever possible. However, I'm having a tough time hearing back, even with recruiter screens/OAs.
I got feedback to lead the sentence with the result/metric and move my skills up, I made those changes based on my previous post. I want to know if there is anything else I could do to improve my resume.
I managed to get one interview with Amazon, but I got lucky when a recruiter I reached out to in January randomly got back to me in March. I've reviewed the wiki a couple of times and this is the third time I'm trying to post here.
I'm open to relocation and I'm applying to SWE roles (onsite/remote/hybrid).I do need sponsorship, but I know fellow internationals are getting interviews so I'd really appreciate some feedback on how I can improve my resume. Thanks in advance!

Long text warning: I tried to have a phone call about it.but she started crying and deflecting the situation. I have to say I haven't felt super valued in this friendship for years. I feel like I'm the side friend, but not the main friend for her. I am learning how to communicate my feelings and understand my needs in friendships and life in general. I come from an unhealthy family where we never talked about how we felt. I was hoping by addressing this I could understand my friend better but also share how I felt. Here is the email:
I'm writing this email to follow up on our conversation. I think email may be better because it gives me more time to gather my thoughts and express them. I also hope it's easier to read and take time to respond as you see fit. I want to take my time to put my thoughts together because I do value our friendship and I don't want to say something hurtful, however I do need to express my side of things so I think it still may come across as hurtful even though I don't intend it to.
I thought after our conversation about the unfolding of last year helped me understand your end better, but I don't think I was able to fully express why I felt as I did and I don't feel like you understood where I was coming from so I still feel uneasy about the whole thing.
My intention was not to hurt you by expressing how I feel and I could see during our conversation you did feel hurt and I feel terrible about that. I'm sorry for that because I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I do feel I need to express how I feel because I feel hurt as well. It has made me feel less valued in our friendship and my trust in our friendship has also come into question.
I was thinking about why I feel this way and I think it comes down to my expectations of our friendship. I thought we were closer, but I felt after these experiences that we aren't as close as I thought. There are also a few instances where I felt a bit disrespected or undervalued. Since coming back to the U.S. I've had different jobs and when I got my teaching and program job I thought you would be happy for me and you did say you were, but I was really shocked when you said I was secretive about my job. This shocked me because I actually recall you saying you want to hear how things go with my job and I sent you a video and didn't get a response.
I remember messaging you for us to chat about it since you didn't respond and even still I don't recall you asking many questions about my job. It wasn't until I mentioned I would travel to DC for work that you asked any questions about it. This stood out to me because I was sharing some challenges I was experiencing with the job and I found it confusing that that was the only thing that grabbed your attention. It's a bit weird in that I didn't feel you really were happy for me for my new opportunities but then also when I was facing some challenges I didn't feel like you really cared to hear those.
I have to say what I have appreciated about our friendship is that all this time we do always talk about all kinds of things. I also appreciate how you have been there for me and that we make time to have phone calls even though we are so far apart and life has taken us in different directions. It's been hard to actually be there for each other in ways we might have if we lived in the same place. So, I do value that and I also want to say I understand you have a lot of different things on your end.
I know you have your own job, you're a mom, wife, photographer, and have other friendships and relationships to tend to so I really do appreciate and value that we've been in touch and do our best to be there for each other as we can. So, I don't want to share this as criticisms it's just from my point of view how things came across and why I didn't feel very valued in these situations. I know I've probably come short in many ways over the years as well. I also know we usually talk about pretty deep things and I know we've talked about you feeling like you need to have an answer or solution for certain things and I've felt this way sometimes as well because we do want to help our friends solve things, but often I just want to be able to express what I'm going through to get it out and then figure out a solution.
I think it's great to hear your perspective and point of view on things because it does help to look at things from another angle but I hope you know my expectations of our friendship is not for you to solve any of my problems and not to burden you with anything I'm experiencing but to just talk and share as things happen. I value our friendship because we've been there for each other for so long and have grown through our adult years together so I really do value that. I love that we can talk about so many different things and are still connected even though we're so far apart.
I can also understand sometimes it can feel like too much when someone shares difficulties and challenges. My life hasn't been easy and it's been a real struggle navigating life without my family and it's still something I deal with so I think the reason I feel really hurt by this situation is because you are one of the closest people in my life. When you said I was secretive about my job after I was sharing that I wasn't feeling heard felt very hurtful to me because I felt like I had been trying to talk to you about it so it went against how I experienced the situation.
I also recall when I shared my job opportunities you sharing that I would make a good coach which confused me because even though these new jobs had some drawbacks for me they were still great opportunities so I wasn't sure why you'd suggest being a coach when I never expressed interest in that. There are also a few comments that stood out to me where I felt disrespected or that they were slights and this when you referred to my office as "small" and looking at the hotel I was staying at with work and commenting how it "only three stars." I hadn't even looked at the star rating of the hotel until you pointed it out and I don't even get why that would matter or why that needed to be pointed out.
I'm not sure what your intentions were with those comments but they did feel like little jabs. What really put in question the trust in our friendship is when I shared I was going to go on a trip to DC with my work. I don't recall you asking much about my trip but you did go into detail how your boss asked you to go on a trip and you were so persistent that you didn't want to go. When you said it would be in DC I suggested it'd be great for us to meet up and then soon after you said you were going so I was happy because I thought it would be for us to meet up but then you talked about how your boss looks out for you and how he's so great. I was left wondering like this is a bit strange you were just sharing how you didn't want to go and all this stuff and I thought the reason you changed your mind was so we could meet up.
There was not much talk about us getting to spend time together which made me feel undervalued and like I was caring more about our potential meetup. I know you shared it was the cost afterwards and that initially your trip wasn't going to be covered by work, but what made me feel we are not as close as I thought is that you didn't share that during that initial conversation. You just shared how you didn't want to go so it did make me question if you felt close to me to share the real reason you didn't want to go and that you would just flip your decision like that was surprising.
I guess after all these years I thought we were close where we could be that honest with each other and I wasn't sure why you didn't share the cost thing with me and why after deciding to go on the trip you made it all about your boss wanting you to go instead of you sharing that you actually wanted to go on it. I understand afterwards you were trying to find ways for us to meet up, but it did feel like a bit of an after thought. It seemed like you were valuing more your boss, your other colleagues, and the photography you would do and of course I understand the value of those and their importance so I'm not saying I should matter more than that, but it just felt odd to me how you had no interest in the trip and then all of the sudden you did after I mentioned it, but then there was no much mention of us but rather about your work and these other things. This made me feel undervalued and given that you changed your mind so drastically about it.
I wasn't sure what to make of this to be honest and it felt a bit like you were only going because I shared I was going but then you didn't really acknowledge that. This is hard to write because I don't want it to come off the wrong way, but I also do feel I need to share how and why I feel this situation has created distance in our friendship from my end.
I know I'm not perfect either and I've made mistakes in our friendship too and haven't always been there in the ways you needed. I don't want this to come off as me just saying all that's wrong because I value how we have been able to stay friends for so long and talk about all kinds of things and respect each other, but this has raised doubts for me that I'd like to address. I also understand with time and distance things to do change and our needs for friendships evolve as well. I do worry that sharing this will impact our friendship and dynamic.
I'm not sure what will happen, but I also do want to be honest and it's hard for me to pretend things are all good if I don't think they are. My intention is to express myself honestly and to understand where you are coming from. I don't want to make assumptions or think I know what you were thinking or going through. I know you have your own priorities in life so I can understand we may not come off in the way we intend.
We've also grown and changed over the years so it may be that our friendship is changing too. This has been hard for me to share and I've thought about whether I should or not, but the reason I decided to share it is because not addressing it would just keep me distant from our friendship. I worry sharing it would cause the same from your end. I wanted to be careful with how I expressed myself, but I can only express things from my point of view which I realize may come across as self-indulgent so I'd just really like to understand your end better and why things came about as they did. I do hope it allows us to understand each other in a deeper way. Ultimately, I just want both of us to feel like we can openly and honestly express ourselves and to feel heard and respected.
After reading it again I realize I could have been more concise and to the point.

Hello Friends,
I, like many of you own a small business LLC with about 8 Employees.
They work at the different job sites, so they never have to come in to a physical office to work.
However, I recently leased a personal 800 SF office space for me to do work and to seperate work from home life.
I have a desk, TV linked to my monitors on the wall in front of me, some chairs, and am in the process of filling out the space.
I would like to hang up some nice memorabilia / frames of company documentation to glance at and feel a little more at home and professional.
For example, a Law Office may have their Law Degree, their college degree, and other Law Awards they have gained over the years on their office wall.
I didn’t go to college - started this company when I was 18 and am blessed that it has worked out, so I am not sure what I should hang up?
The only one I am certain of is the Trademark Certificate for the business name. It looks wonderful and official.
Business licenses may look nice, as I have 6 of them in each city we service, but they are a bit odd in sizing and I’m not sure…
I thought about EIN formation letter, or anything like that but haven’t seen to come to something that makes sense!
Anyways, have some of you LLC owners had the same conundrum and found / decided what to hang in your office business-wise?

The number of jobs is not changing, and the number of jobs on each tour is staying the same. However, some of the new jobs have the same NS days and schedules as jobs that were abolished. Do the clerks that occupied those old jobs get to keep the new jobs with the same schedule that they had?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
