2024.06.07 03:59 hMcNiel Leaking 2023 GMC Sierra

Long story short I have a 2023 GMC Sierra with 9000 miles that has been leaking from the sunroof. The leak started at around 7000 miles. I have taken this truck to the dealership three times to get the leak fixed. This third time they called me and told me it was fixed however, on the way there they called back and said it was leaking again. They have been working on my truck for a month now. I’m to the point were now I just want to trade the truck in because I’m scared that one day the sunroof will leak again when the truck is not under warranty anymore. Any advice? Should I give the dealership one more chance to fix the truck? Is it a bad financial decision to trade a truck in that I still owe on?

2024.06.05 15:45 Kayloubee Any UK roofers here?

Any UK roofers here?
Hi all. I was hoping for a bit of an advice and an idea of ballpark cost to fix this abomination on the house I just bought. I’m in Manchester, UK.
It has a small roughly 2m x 3m 1990s kitchen extension (very common round here) which was originally flat roofed. Some time later, previous owners have built a pitched roof and just stuck it on top, I assume to keep out leaks, but it’s been built really badly.
I’m looking at either removing the pitched structure entirely and going back to flat but recovering it, and installing a small roof light. Or (probably more expensive) - taking out the flat roof and rebuilding the pitched. Ideally adding a velux into that as well.
I had a company come round and give me what seemed an absolutely ludicrous quote - almost £9000 for the flat roof option. I was absolutely floored by this price and wondered if they just didn’t want the job.
I was thinking it would be more in the region of £2-3k for the flat roof option, more for the pitched. That’s with me supplying a roof light. Am I insane or am I in the right ballpark?
If that company’s quote was actually reasonable these days then I need a serious rethink of what I can do to help the situation. All advice welcome

2024.05.28 06:08 sartnow Bitcoin era, My story

This is my little story about how I lost 10k to what I believe to be a scam, every signs points to it being a scam, but I don't want to defame some honorable people in the very slim chance they're legit. As I always say, trust is easily broken.
It began with my father pushing me to subscribe to some shady website called "Bitcoin era", supposedly some advanced AI that traded stocks for you and made you money in the longterm. There was this spokesperson here in Quebec that leaked his infinite money glitch, the website in question and it allowed you to gain some passive income for nothing, you deposited like a thousand dollars and you received two thousand by the end of the week.
My father is the gulible type to believe most nonsense like that, but he made a convincing argument, "it's only 400$", we only needed to deposit 400$ to begin the process of making infinite money, a pretty good bargain wouldn't you think? yeah, seems too good to be true, but I went with it anyways, we had 400$ to spare and it would make a good lesson if it was just a scam.
So I got joined by this woman, she created an account in our name, security code, passwords and username, seems legit I thought to myself, she then assigned us "one of her best" a financial advisor with supposedly twenty other clients with millions of dollars invested, seemed to me that I was the odd one out with my measly 400$, but the guy insisted it wasn't a big deal to take care of an extra client like that, lucky me! I want to clarify that by that point, I hadn't invested money yet, the 400$ was still in my bank account.
So the guy made me install this app called "Metatrader5" some financial app to track stocks and such. for some weird reason, my account was already created in my name, no need to bother creating it myself! And there was already 250$ inside to trade freely, some free money they gave me to begin since I was supposed to invest my 400$ (400$ canadian) so I began small with 0.01 trade, the equivalent of 10$ trade, the guy never really took the time to explain me how it all worked, he told me to follow the RSI (Relative strength index or something), buy under 30 and sell over 70 and all that. It worked a bit at first, some short trade that would grant me +1 up to +5 and some small numbers like that.
So then, I opened lots and lots of trades, after all I had 250$ I could spend on trade, the guy told me that the free margin was money that was sleeping and I had to put it to work! So I did, I managed to gain up to 300$ by the end of the day, easy peasy. I thought to myself that was easy, so I kept buying and selling all according to the tips of the RSI. The next day, it went so well that my father, and I as well since I wore my rose tinted glass then, didn't thought I could be falling into some traps then, and even then, it was just a merely 2000$, yes, we decided to invest 2000$ instead, it went so well we may as well invest more money so it would be faster!
So we try to send money to our account, but it won't proceed accordingly, fortunately my financial advisor was there to help me all the way, we tried various different website to send money, but most of them were declined by my bank, shucks, until we found Kraken, a digital wallet or something to trade money, it worked like a charm and we sent money by interac, 2000$ that changed into 1411$ USDC, then my financial advisor was ready, need I say that he also made me install an app called "quick support" so he could remotely control my phone at a distance, he was ready with the wallet adress of my account! sent directly to my account from Kraken, I noticed the wallet adress was actually adressed to my father, but I didn't think much of it then, we were both in on the money.
So I finally received the money, 1411$ directly deposited to my account, which brought the balance to 1800$ and I kept trading. There was this stock, USDJPY or something that looked interesting, the RSI was way over 70 so I sold, expecting it to go down, but it kept going up! so I sold again and it went up again. by then I was making 100$ trades, since I had nearly 2000$ to play with. So I looked at the numbers going red, -30$... -60$... -100$... I had lost more money than I invested at first and it kept rising.
So then, I realized there was more to it than just the RSI, and I wanted to learn more, so I asked my financial advisor about it. He never explained it to me, at least not in any comprehensive ways, I just had to follow his advice, buy under 30, sell over 70. So I kept at it, my two burden stocks who were stagnating in the red bothered me, but I managed to gain 200$ with the rest of my money, then something weird happened, my two burden stocks who were -100% the day before became +100%. I was ecstatic, it was the first stock that went over 20% profit, I sold and profited 124% profit. By then, I decided to follow the guy's advice, it was clearly working right!
So, my balance is now 2300$ I made 300 dollars in a single day, I was kinda proud of myself, I made the trades after all! it's wednesday, three days before the market closes, and the guy comes at me with an incredible deal. Binance was supposed to have some court proceedings and the team behind my financial advisor were preparing for a huge hit, investing in the stock before the court proceeding so we would make bank when the verdict finally drops, basically some insider trading of some sort.
The deal was to spend the next week making trades on the binance stock, 50% profit guaranteed for each trade per day. all five days would give me 250% profit from a single investment of 5000$, yes, the guy asked me to drop 5000$ in my account before next week to participate in this huge hit, and that would grant me at least 12'500$ profit guaranteed. Now, I'm broke, I need money to move and just to survive, I'm nowhere near the point of investing that kind of money on this, so I dropped it at first.
The guy persisted, he persisted so much it made me wary, he was like: "Cmon bro, it's free money!" I asked him why he wanted me to participate since he already had all his other client participating, and he told me he wanted to give a chance to the little guy, a chance for me to gain money and become richer. I waited a day, I was reluctant as fuk, I really should have listened to my instinct back then, it was all too convenient you know, they were prepping for this hit since three weeks ago and just now they advised me on that? it sounded too good to be true, but the allure of money finally got to me, and my father was also wary, but we decided to go with the deal.
The guy made me sign an "awaiting deposit" some sort of contract where I agree to pay the amount of money on the contract in exchange for them to credit it on my account, there were some fees linked to it and it looked authentic. So I signed and they credited me with 5000$ on my account, and the same day I dropped 3000$ on Kraken because I had to deposit the amount before next week right, well 3000$ thursday was all we could drop because my bank didn't allow more than 3000$ per day. fine with me I guess
Now, my balance is at 9000$; 4000$ from deposits and 5000$ credits so I kept investing, pretty odd since we had to invest in binance next week, but my financial advisor told me it'd be fine so I didn't question it. friday, stocks were still in the red and I was still holding because "you never sell in the red" that day, we tried to deposit another 3000$ but my bank refused, maybe the processing of money went to friday since we did it so late last night. The guy went nuclear, he was asking me to drop the money, call my bank, drop 3000$-2000$-1000$ which none of them worked, he was really determined for me to deposit the money NOW! I asked him why he was so insitant, since I could just deposit the money next week, apparently the contract stipulated that I had to deposit by monday next week, but with how it went, I wouldn't be able to deposit before tuesday, an headache to my financial advisor who would need to fill some paperworks for me to deposit the money later.
Now, I'm getting incredibly suspicious because some of my trades, I was trading 700$, went deep red, like -100% and stuff, so I was skeptic about it, would I be able to trade in Binance if my numbers were still red? The weekend went away and monday morning, I received the call, Buy BNBUSD 0.5, apparently their defense was a case of corruption and would be swept away. So I did, and waited, it started at -600$, normal since I wasn't dealing with a regular amount of money, I don't know how much is 0.5 BNBUSD, but it varied alot. so the number went down, -1200$... -2000$... -3000$... I look away, it was a dud in my head, a flop that cost me some money, but I was guaranteed to regain 250% of the money I invested if I followed right?
Then, the price exploded, I just glanced over at my app since why not? +10'500$ WTF, so much money, but the guy promised he'd call me when it was time to close, so I messaged him, "Hey, I'm 10k profit, should I close?" and his answer was weird, in all caps; "CLOSE ASAP" like weren't you expecting this result? kinda funny, but I obeyed, up to now, despite some minor setback that were probably just me worrying about nothing, the guy had a good track record, everything went swimmingly as we say.
So... here comes the good part, the part where I'm finally trusting everything he says, after all, he made me 10k just like that! He called me the very night and we discussed the stock, it was incredible but something bothered me, I have a good memory and unless the stock market doesn't work like I thought it did, I bought BNBUSD at 560, and when I closed, it said I bought at 350 or something, I really don't understand the math behind it and all, but that raised an eyebrow out of me.
So, that evening, I made another payment of 3000$ because, I was engaged and contractually obligated to pay the sum, so another deposit and now my account was at 22k $. honnestly, at that point, I was ready to pull out and get me some money back because I'm broke, even more so since I had to borrow some money for that Binance thing. The guy had other plans for me and I that was the last mistake I made, he told me to buy some stocks, but this time he chose them specifically.
him being a financial advisor, his stunt with Binance, the dulling of my senses, his track records, the variations of the market and my lack of experience contributed to me aggreing to his request, 3.0 in some stocks, 4.0 in another stock, 3.0 over there and another 3.0 elsewhere, I have the photos of the trades if you're curious. well, I believed him when he said those stocks would soar, what I didn't know is they would soar in the opposite directions, almost like he predicted it.
Low and behold, the next morning, my stocks are down -1000$ and it keeps going down, "never sell in the red" well I didn't because I thought it was just a minor stepback, and since I invested 3k and 4k in those stocks, 1k variation wasn't all that bad, surely they would come back up... They never did.
-2000$... -3000$... -4000$... down 100% on my highest stock, that took a hit to my free margin which was now in the red, -3000 free margin, I was now under 100% margin level and the stock kept going down, so I messaged my guy, panicked; "Hey, what's going on, my stocks are down so much that my free margin is negative, what will happen next?" see, I knew it was bad when the free margin went negative, it's not like the whole hud goes red and all the numbers are red or anything XD I'm smart you see, so I begin questionning myself, was it really an accident? did those stock really just set back a bit? My guy comes in clutch; "Don't worry, it'll be fine by tomorrow" So I waited
Tomorrow came and everything went back to normal, even thought my stocks were still deep red, even more than the day before, but for some reason, my free margin came back in the positive, Odd. Still, I'm really starting to question myself now, because the terms of the contract were 5 days to trade Binance and 250% guaranteed profits, but yesterday my stocks were crimson red, so I couldn't trade, and today as well, I can only wait and hope those stocks would recover, those stocks he made me buy... all four of those stocks are now -60% to -100%
For some reason, my guy didn't really call me back that week, maybe because there was no point since my stocks were crimson red, still I began doubting his legitimacy. the weekend came and my stock did not recover at all, I considered closing all my options since my balance was -11k so I would still have 12k left, that's still a hell of a lot of money for me, 5k more when converted into canadian dollars.
Monday came, my guy didn't call me all day and my stock kept dropping, they reached -5000$ at one point and I really considered selling it at this point because I had no hope and my margin was still not recovering, but I only sold one stock that managed to reach -600$, not really a big deal for me, I was still swimming in 12k profit from the binance thing.
Next, my account got locked, I got soft locked out of my account, disconnected from the app probably to prevent me from selling all my stock. Then, since my guy didn't call me, I called him and was kinda harassing him, but his contact information were deleted, I couldn't reach him anymore.
One of his friend called me the next day, he told me how my guy went back to his hometown to take care of his parents, why did he delete his online presence for that? no clue... yet. then, he helps me connect back on "my account" with a password he gave me and credentials he also gave me. it didn't work, my phone wouldn't connect to the account for some reason, but after discussing with his pals, the new guy came to me and when I finally connected back on the app, It had degenerated so much more, -25'000$ in the balance. my free margin was -8000$, my margin level was 10% and my stock had ALL gone under -200% deficit, pretty badlucky am I right?
Rightfully, the guy panicked and told me that was a disaster, and when I told him it was my guy who made me do this shit, he feigned surprise, as if his friend would mess up this bad. My account was supposedly in a margin call and needed an influx of money, hehe. I had to deposit 10k $ in my account or risk losing it all, the new guy was pretty nice and offered me an "awaiting deposit" to make sure my account wouldn't get closed, also, need I say that since I connected back on "my account" I couldn't close my options anymore, I could literally only deposit more money at the behest of my financial advisor.
At that point, it became clear to me, that's a scam and I fell for it like the biggest noob ever. There's no way I'm getting my money back, there's no way I ever had any money in the first place.
My theory how the scam works is that these financial advisors working for various groups, mine was Trezor group allegedly, they open an account for you in your name, but that's the limit of your possession, every money you deposit to this account disapear, it will never come back to you because it's not your account, it's theirs, it's only named after you. I really hope though the money was real, because it would be so cathartic to see them lose that much money, even though they probably have ways of mitigating the effects of the margin call or injecting money in their account, since my money is already in there.
My father believes we never controlled the money, that these people control an artificial market they can control at will to make me win or lose money at any point, that may explain the discrepency in the numbers and other oddities that I saw with everything and the inexplicable drop to -10'000 for a single stock, for all of them XD.
After this realization, I played the new guy, told him I had money coming, that my father would borrow more money from the bank and that I would co sign a deal with the bank, basically messing with him and just wasting his time. The guy was INCREDIBLY persistant, he really wanted me NOT to lose my money so bad XD he followed my tricks for a while but then he proposed another "awaiting deposit" and then I just lost interest, I didn't want to mess with him forever in the case he was a legit person trying to do his job, a doubt crept in my mind that these people might really be just clueless and incompetent.
So I gave up, I deleted the account from my phone, pretty sure anyway it was never my account and the money was never mine, I should have sold everything at -13k when I had the chance XD that would have taught them, they would have still had my money and some more, but they would have lost the binance hit.
All that to say, Do not use Bitcoin era, do not contact them, do not even think about them. you will lose your money, because if they're not scammer, they're maliciously incompetent.
TLDR: I joined bitcoin era, lost 10k and learned not to trust people you don't know with your money, my guy was so charismatic, why did he end up like that, why do they all...

2024.05.27 07:34 ArcaneKazz Why did Wuthering Wave's release turn this subreddit into r/HoYoverse?

EDIT: I like how I never truly praised WuWa and listed multiple things I dislike about it but HoYo gluck-gluck-9000 is so strong that you guys warped your heads into thinking I'm a giant Kuro Games fan.
This sub, twitter and other subs have become ravenous over a....games bad release? The release is bad, as are many games. If you are an adult you wouldn't be freaking out over it. Games have bad launches, grow up. The story is fixable, HSR went from having an ok story to having the best in any gacha (IMO, Arknights/Granblue fantasy is a close 2nd to me).
Keep in mind my general negative opinions/bad experiences of WW are:
1.Story is boring/bad minus the scar bits and the general aesthetic shift halfway through the acts. I wish the Aalto/Encore section was longer because it had more colorful dialogue. Through every cutscene I've just been screaming "I'M JUST TRYNA FIGHT". Imo scrap the entire beginning and rework the Jiyan "strategy" scene and its salvageable. 2.Terrible english VA, bad localization for many languages. Nothing else, just switch to Japanese. 3. Couldn't play for 2 days because of the memory leak (now fixed). 4. Grapple hook has a long cd for no reason out of combat. 5. They copied all of the bad things from Genshin that are now "standard" instead of focusing on the good from PGR.
With that out of the way, this sub's general opinion of WuWa pre-release was "Play this game for the combat, because PGR had good combat and this will too". No one ever said it would overtake Genshin, like EVER(please find me a thread), the consensus was always that WuWa was for combat and co-op that had value to it (although many were against coop in general bc of FOMO feeling).
Now the game is out, and to no one's surprise It's exactly as expected with some additional rough spots. The pros of the game that were expected beforehand were in fact delivered in regards to combat. And as someone who has made it past story (UL 32 RN) you would be delusional to say that the post story gameplay loop of Genshin on release/present day was close to as good as WuWa is now.
As a final point to harp back on this subreddits shift, a sub that posts every obscure gacha game that releases (aka the main reason I browse): since when did people ride or die for a multi-BILLION dollar company? Kuro, a company that has only two other games doesn't match a company's quality 1:1 that can hire a small army for every problem...no shit? Is WuWa getting better seriously out of the question because of a bad launch?
TLDR; This sub constantly critical of Hoyo in regards to their shady business practices, the predatory 50/50 pity system they popularized & their lack of care for their own playerbase. Now a new game with a shitty launch comes out and this sub is creating revisionist history of how good Genshin was on launch(cough cough weapon banners & paimon's existence, impossible to die unless you are actively trying). What gives?

2024.05.24 13:14 prostenicolai Memory leaks

Hello, I am new to SPT and play it maybe for one month and as far I enjoy it very much, but I have some wierd memory leaks.
I try to find solution for that but for now I have no success.
First my specs (maybe it is problem there)
CPU: 7950X3D
GPU: 4070Ti
RAM: 32GB DDR5
2x SSD nvme: C where is system, and D: where I have SPT
PROBLEM:
When I play SPT, it just eats my ram, and after few minutes it eats all of my 32GB, firstly it just crashed game, but after I change virtual memory to 80GB it didnt crash (or it can be up much longer-and then it crashes)
I try memory cleaner mod, ISCL, Memory Cleaner app and everything help only little, like:
  1. when i use memory clean in game or memory cleaner app, it will free my RAM but it takes maybe 2-4 minutes and for that time i have like 2-5 FPS in game, my disk goes for 100% usage so I need to manage when i do it because otherwise i can die
  2. when i use ISCL it does not clean ram at all but i set it to 9000/9000 and every few menites when it starts it dropped my fps little
I did use mods, the popular one like sain, swag, donuts but i change spawn rate for fewer bots (no change) it just eats ram (maybe slower).
I really dont know where is my problem, in game? in hw specs? do i have many mods?
I was thinking to try to create another SPT installation without mods and play it slowly and add mods one by one but it will take forever.
I play with idea to buy more RAM from 32 to 64 but it will eat ram too but I will have more time
does anybody can help?

2024.05.23 19:12 ValadaFallstar The Earless One [Horror Fantasy - 1649 words]

If you've seen this story before it's because I've posted it on a couple of deleted accounts. Any feedback would be appreciated and am looking for people to read the entirety of the 9000 word short story. Thanks.
Knelt beside the river, pebbles bit deep into the bone of Prey’s knee. He didn’t care. For water was pooled in the cragged seams of his outstretched palms, sparkling in the sun like nectar. With a jerk, he jammed the water down his lips, making his shoulder scream. But the gentle flow soothed the bloody bristles of his tongue and wet the chunks of his teeth with welcome coolness. His dark, congealing headache drifted away, leaving a novel freshness of thought behind. Prey closed his eyes and took a deep, raspy breath. The birds twittered. Insects chirped. And the river trickled onwards. For a moment, all was forgotten and Prey felt peace.
A branch snapped. Prey twitched. His eyes snapped open and checked off the trees, the birds, the insects… They were all there, the world was as it should be. And yet, they could be watching. They could be licking their fattened lips, their warm breath steaming up from behind. He could hear the edging rhythm of their inhale, their exhale whispering rough against his ears, chipping away at his soul till he had nothing more, hollow and purposeless.
They were the Predators.
Prey filled his bucket with water and hoisted it upon the lap of his swollen shoulder. They weren’t here. They never would be. He tried to stop thinking but that only caused more thoughts to crash and break, battering away notions of hope, leaving only the very darkest temptation behind. To end it all. Let the web of suspense melt away and feel his soul float into the empty unknown.
Prey struck his thigh. His Son was every reason he needed to live. Letting that thought sear, Prey soldiered through the tangled depths of the forest, denying the crunch in his knee that sabotaged his every step. Any time he ached for rest, Prey thought about his purpose and moved on, his pace never falling.
He let his mind wander to when his Son was born. Those were times of love, times of family but now, there were no memories and only a wistful fog remained. The one thing he knew was that things were harsh back then, just like now. Back then, there was a lightness to life that made it all tolerable, something Prey now yearned for. But he had to look forward. His Son had a future and it was Prey’s duty to carve it into one worth living, through blood, through sacrifice, anything for the single light of his life. This alone warded away the conniving spirits of doubt.
Crawling over a sprawling trunk, Prey rolled against a horde of bugs that filed along the wood, their sticky bodies mashing against his naked skin. His mind wandered to the task at hand: his Son had a fever. Nothing severe and yet Prey’s heart pounded with fear. The poor thing had shivered throughout the night, despite the blanket of leaves and snapped branches Prey stitched together for him. The water had to cure him.
A glinting strip drifted on the sweep of the flowing breeze, flirting in and out of Prey’s gaze. Setting down the bucket, he charged. He stumbled over roots and rocks, collecting ever more purple badges, but the prize eluded him, swaying this way and that way through the towering branches.
Prey swung wild but found mostly fistfuls of nothing. Eventually, he made contact but it was the crunch of his knuckles against a tree, bones rattling with tiny breaks. Prey grunted but didn’t care. He kept chasing with undying desperation but soon his body gave way, slowing his attacks till the hunt became a lost cause. Signing off with a flourish, the wrapper rose into a swerving slalom through the leaves but failed, impaling itself upon a branch. It was a convenient end.
Scarcely believing his luck, Prey plucked the thing before bringing it close to his eyes. It was like a fallen star, giving off a sharp twinkle that sparked spots of silver in Prey’s eyes, a giddy break from drab mortality. And it felt so silky to his chafed fingers, soothing him like Mother’s whispering rhymes, making him feel a fleeting imitation of something long lost, something like comfort. He knew the value of this little thing.
Back in sweeter times, Prey and Mother would collect these gifts. Mother had called them “wrappers'' but he never knew why. Mother never liked questions. His childhood felt like one long search for wrappers, finally amassing a collection that boasted all the colours, even a peculiar shade of purple. One day, he’d lost them all because Mother had told him something but now, he couldn’t remember what. Whatever it was, Mother was always right.
Anyways, he’d once spent many an afternoon snuggled on Mother’s lap and there, having picked a wrapper for the day, he simply stared and watched its twinkle grow muted as the sun fell down the skyline, tracing that solemn but elegant course. Back then he never questioned why the wrappers thrilled him so, only slipping further into boyhood addiction. Now wizened to the world he still had no answer. Perhaps they were a gate to somewhere beyond reality, somewhere heartbreakingly beautiful yet such an answer was too simple. No words could ever capture what the wrappers meant.
His Son loved wrappers even more than Prey. One night he had caught his Son nibbling on one so the collection was confiscated for a short time and it never happened again. The wrapper caught today was silver, a color his Son had never found. Surely the joy of such a rare wrapper would speed up his recovery and then they could move on through the forest, never staying so long again in the same place, always running from them. It had to work.
After retrieving his bucket, Prey set off towards the shelter, expecting to hear his Son sleeping soundly and breathing loudly, enjoying a long needed rest. Prey smiled. At times he thought that amongst a forever crowding ring of a world that squeezed humanity out of all, his Son was the only innocent thing left. It was scary and yet oddly comforting: his Son was his. Nothing could change that.
A shrill scream ruptured the night. Prey hurtled towards it, his toe stubbing against some stump, a thorny branch scraping threads of skin from his elbow. Eyes kept blinking, pressing down the bead of a blooming tear while the world whirred in a trivial blur. He knew the source and nothing else mattered.
After an eternity of sprinting, Prey stopped before the shelter and saw the worst of his fears. His Son’s knobby limbs splayed over the blanket’s edge, twitching as his spindly ribcage rose up and down, each time leaking a chesty wheezing. His face was slick with the sheen of sweat, drops dripping down his chin and onto his gaunt, thin chest. But he lived. That was good.
At Prey’s sight, his Son screamed again. Prey scrambled to place a hand upon his head, looking deep with comfort into his bulging eyes, red with rheumy streaks. The fever was still not gone but it was calmer. In this life, little things, little improvements meant a lot. As wind whistled through strings of flimsy leaves, he watched his Son mellow under his care, the noises of illness quieting and then ceasing.
A grin began to split at the dry seams of Prey’s lips. An urge to whoop at the top of his lungs threatened to take hold of him because for another day, his Son was alive in this forsaken world that damned all that breathed. Surely, that was worth rejoicing.
Living wasn’t enough. His Son was changing. Yes, it wasn't drastic but slants of melancholy began to elongate his already long face and lines, almost wrinkles, clustered finely around his eyes. And his eyes themselves. Day by day, the sparkle for life was sucked dry from them till one day they’d be hollow, just like twisted, old Prey. The thought made his chest tighten but he dared not dwell. Life goes on, whether it scalds you or not. That’s what Mother used to say and Mother was always wise.
The bucket. Prey had forgotten about it. He hauled it with shaking hands before trickling the water onto his Son’s lips, some flowing down his throat but most dribbling onto his chin, dissolving into the murk of skin. His Son’s eyes still gazed up into branches, looking vacant into nowhere.
“Good?” asked Prey, not expecting a reply. He didn’t get one.
Chewing his nail, Prey scoured his Son for further improvements but there was nothing. It was clear that all options but one were expended. With a sigh, Prey brought out the wrapper. He lodged it between his Son’s clenched fist and, lo and behold, he rose from his stupor with a pure smile. For a time, he fumbled with the wrapper being unable to tame its slippery hide but once those eyes squinted with focus, his Son showed his skill by easing the strip into the cradle of his cupped palms. He rocked it with tender care, soon losing himself in those fumes of sparkling beauty, drool dripping from his lolling mouth. The fever was forgotten, the world was forgotten.
“Good,” said his Son. Nothing else needed to be said.
Settling upon the blanket, Prey let his Son lay on his lap. Till even light had retreated, he defended his tower of joy; playing, seeing and feeling with the wrapper as though time itself was endless. Prey watched on. Only when the moon rose to her zenith did his Son nod off, the easy puffs of sleep tingling against Prey’s leg. He didn’t sleep. Skybound he gazed, watching the pearls of light perform their celestial procession as they pranced and danced across the blind stage of night. Eventually, sleep did find him.

2024.05.23 03:39 PastCompetition1987 Opinion on price

Looking to get myself a 4Runner, came across a 2003 Toyota 4Runner SR5 v6- 2 owners, garage kept, good frame with 45,000 miles on it. The owner was 15,000 for it. It did have a scratch that ran from the back quarter panel to about half way of the passenger door. I read up that 2003 4Runners are known to have head gaskets issues along with calipers being stuck and timing cover leaks. According to the NADA the same year make and model with that amount of miles and great condition has a trade in value of 8500-9000. In your opinion is that sales price a little too high? I want to offer 11,000 initially, is there any of piece of information I can use to leverage the price a little more? Thanks

2024.05.21 23:09 SimpleDude008 What models could you run with hardware like this?

I wonder since I plan to have a new pc, with the little we know from the leaks as amd will use npu in their next ryzen 9000, the 5080 which will be a little faster than the 4090, to that add some 32gb ddr5 at 6000mhz.
I would like to know which models could be used locally with this budget and how many parameters I could handle.
